Lovely meal. Always very good food, particularly recommend a take away if you’re not feeling like eating out. Either way we always enjoy the food. My favourite is king prawn Passanda, my wife’s is probably Tandoori chicken but she changes her choice all the time.

Have been coming here for a couple of years always had good food but tonight is the last time never again! Our meal was very poor and went in the bin.

The food did look nice and was ok in some parts, however there was way too much salt added and this spoiled the food and the whole experience. The staff were very friendly though

It’s been a while since we used the Indian Cottage in Horndean and we had friends with us, the whole meal was very disappointing and we all noticed the distinct lack of effort. We have now used other local restaurants and also noticed the reduction in price and a better standard of food. We will not be returning to practise a mistake. Doug & Sue Chambers (Horndean)

Had a Himalayan chilli chicken curry there last night. Not the most flavoursome of meals, I couldn't figure out what was over powering it, but its not something I'd try again. Like a couple of other people have mentioned, the amount of meat in all the curries our group were served appeared to be small.

Have used the Indian Cottage a few times and each time the food is always hot, tasty, plenty of it, and the service is always first class! With many restaurants available for late night/take away food, its always good to know what you can expect to receive and its always a very high standard. Well done IC team!

Timings are not mentioned correctly

We enjoyed a family meal there, everything was authentic and delicious. What impressed me most was the pre-heated plates and that all dishes arrived at the table at once, and steaming hot. They clearly make an effort for their customers and care about service just as much as about the cooking.

We have never been to Indian Cottage at Horndean before, we were celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary. The restaurant was packed and anyone who had not booked were unfortunately turned away. You may think service was going to be sketchy, but quite the opposite. Great food, great atmosphere, great service.

This charming restaurant is situated centrally in Horndean, convenient for thenearby Premier Inn, and is clean, friendly and welcoming. The food is really delicious and there is a wide choice at reasonable prices. The staff are very friendly, polite and efficient. I strongly recommend this lovely restaurant.

Had a Curry delivered . The Meal tasted good really disappointed with six small pieces of meat in the curry it was nearly all Sauce . Infact an Iceland Curry has more Meat in Customers are spending a lot of money on this People will go else where

Lovely curry and great price at 5 courses for £15.00

I got a chicken tikka main the chicken tasted cheap. I got a chicken madras and a chicken korma the madras was very salty and a bit bland. The korma was ok the samosa was tasteless the nan was ok. It was very overpriced for what it is I won't be getting this again

Absolutely disgusting. Found one grey hair in my curry and thought it was odd as obviously as a 21 year old i don’t have any grey hairs, continued to look for more and found 6 different hair strands in my curry. Never had this ever before from a takeaway. Genuinely horrified they’re doing this.

This was our worst takeaway meal in 10 years or so. The food was late and some of it was cold. The portions were tiny! The poppadoms were soggy, the sag aloo was too spicy and our main meals did not taste right! All in all, a very unpleasant experience!! I phoned the restaurant and asked to speak to the manager. After a couple of minutes of moaning, he said he'd get the general manager to call me back, but guess what, more than 24 hours later and no call......

We were staying at the nearby Premier Inn and were intending to eat in The Red Lion but they were very busy and couldn't accommodate our large group. Luckily we were able to get a table in the Indian Cottage. Great food and service - very friendly staff.

What can I say Amazing food and friendly service. Found this restaurant online and decided to try out their banquet buffet. Arrived to a friendly welcome and shown to our table. Good choice of food and drinks and all the food we ate was full of flavour and hot. Thank you for a lovely dinner we will definitely return

Birthday meal, yea right, never again, the whole meal was yesterdays left overs, everything was as dry as a bone, the onion bhajis were so hard they couldn’t be cut, horrendous, this lot should be shut down, can’t be trusted. This is the last time we will never go here or order again, total rubbish

Friendly welcoming staff, 5 course meal was excellent value for money but above all, the meal was superb, the chef clearly has a passion for cooking. Would recommend this restaurant highly.

Ordered a delivery from here and it was one of the best Indians I’ve had in a long time. The food came perfectly on time and good service all around. I will definitely be coming back here again.

Have been eating here for 20 years on & off. Back again in recent months after a few years boycott following a couple of bad experiences whilst it seemed to be under different Management. Namely a very stressed out head waiter who shouted at customers & staff alike! Portions got very small too for the prices they were charging. I try to eat there at least a couple of times a month as it's 5 minutes from my house. The reason it doesn't have 5/5 is the price of Poppadoms & the music they play in there! It's often way to loud & not appropriate for an Indian/Bangladeshi eaterie. That's it, my only negative comments. The food is excellent, the service back to it's top standards.

The food was delicious but OMG…. They charged £6.35 for four poppadoms!! I have eaten in some of the top Indian restaurants in London and not been charged anything like that amount. How can they justify £1.53 each for what is a basic flour paste and small dishes of condiments? It was >£9 for two bottles of Cobra! The main courses were £15 plus vegetable side dishes at £6 each. Rice and breads were less expensive, but small. We have feasted and had more beers in award winning restaurants for less than this. It’s such a shame as the food was good, but prices in Horndean shouldn’t be higher than the West End.

Absolutely lovely food. They are all brilliant with the kids. We had a lovely family meal and everyone enjoyed the evening.

The Hospitality and food was disaster

Food wasn't good enough as I expected and the manager wasn't professional and looked grumpy, he didn't want to take my complain when I found hair on my food. I'm Never gonna go there again 👎

Had a delivery this evening, told that had to pay COD when i cancelled the order amazingly i could pay by card. Wish i hadn't bothered. Worst curry takeaway i have had in years. Everything just seemed poor quality ingredients. Chicken tikka was dry same to be said for the tandoori chicken, lamb was ok. Shish kebab tasted off. Very little chilli on the chilli naan no heat what so ever. So disappointing

Thought the king prawn biryani was delicious & not oily, the side curry had complex spice and was very impressed. Staff also really leasant and accommodating. Next time am in the area, I would definitely make a point of visiting aain.

Very disappointed with last nights meal. Onion Bhaji's were definitely not fresh and Peshwari naan was a plain one sprinkled with desiccated coconut. The curry was OK but, all in all, very expensive for meal for one. Plus first time they have charged for delivery.

Lovely Food which is what you want from an Indian Restaurant

We ordered a horndean Indian Cottage Restaurant last night and it was absolutely great meal! Everything was fresh, and hot. Driver was lovely, and delivery was quick. Cannot complain and will definitely be ordered again!

Just shocking! Aside from getting our order wrong the quality and taste of the food was awful. They have also put their prices up because of the lockdown. Anyone reading this trust me go elsewhere. Used many times but this was an embarrassment and will never use again!! Also have no idea how they are rated over 4 out of 5 when they have so many poor reviews. Typical Google!!

Very over priced. Curries very oily and dry chicken. Greasy onion bhajis, very thick, oily poppadoms and watery sauces. Even lettuce was bitter. rice and nan was nice. Don't mind paying high prices if food is worth it. Sorry this was not.

Very Expensive! We love our Friday night currys and were looking forward to trying somewhere new but unfortunately not a good experience at all. Currys were mild and tasteless, small portion of Sagg Aloo (all tepid) and to make things worse it was the most expensive curry we have ever had!! Very disappointing.

Not a 4 or 5 star place, I can ignore poor and slow service, and high prices...but the food is just not very good. Basic Indian restaurant food (can't believe that filling a dish with boiled potatoes still cuts the mustard this century). Don't live locally, but if I did I'd find somewhere else, or just get a pizza.

I will try and put a pic up of mouldy Bombay potatoes overpriced and the pots are only half full when you phone up to complain they say will give you a refund tomorrow or something What a joke . If I could give a... -5 I would have dirt and cost me £30 for the s##t

Food OK, however, the portions were rediculously small (half average size), and the menu is over priced even disregarding the mean portions. Service also quite unfriendly. If you want to leave satisfied and not feeling you have been ripped off, avoid this place.
