Lovely food as always. Fast and great service. Milad was a lovely waiter, very happy and helpful. Chefs kept the kitchen open for us which was very very appreciated as we really wanted a Mela!

Very nice people food ok, just feel the food was nothing to write home about sorry guys. It seems many Indian restaurants are not what they used to be its hard to find a stand out one nowadays.

We came for take out this evening. Had to wait 25mins, then when we got home, we realised they forgot the rice and popadom raita/chutney. Pretty sure this was due to the disinterested teenager who took the order at the front counter. Really unimpressed.

Really wanted this restaurant to be good as it is local to where I live. Chicken Tikka and paratha was nice, the main curries were bland and tasteless, one very watery and oily.

Excellent food again at Mela. Now our go to place for an indian meal. Nice surroundings and easy to park.

This has to be one of the worse take-aways we have had. We have never eaten here before, and wanted to treat ourselves to a takeaway as we had recently moved to the area. We collected it and drove home which is a few minutes away, and the breads, chips, onion bhaji's had to be heated up as they were luke warm. The Chicken Tikka Massala had so much coconut in it, really didn't think it was a Massala, with very little meat too in all the dishes. Certainly won't be trying this one again.

I booked a birthday celebration with my friends on 6th January. The quality of food was very bad with icy cold mix tandoori platter and after my complain it was taken off the bill. We asked the main course with a mix of different curry dishes and one we asked for was beef. We were given only chicken and there were tiny 4 dry pieces in a watery sauce in each bowl. Each curry dish was extremely sweet like a dessert. No way I will visit this place again and definitely not recommend to anyone. This restaurant used to be much better.

Great curry with wonderful staff. First time at this restaurant so I order my default curry as a test which is a Lamb Madras, plain rice and a keema naan. Very tasty and well cooked. The rest of my group ordered many different dishes and everyone was happy with their food. Will visit again.

Staying in area so read reviews and decided to give this a try. Greeted by owner and ordered chicken jalfrezi and chili tika masala, rice and Peshwari naan with poppadoms and chutney. Good service, good location,tasty main meals with enough chicken. We asked for spice and got it! Overall, excellent meal.

Food was good but service haphazard. Wine was a rediculous price for the quality ( very poor and lukewarm) . To be charged £5.70 for a small glass of this mediocre wine was an absolute insult). Unfortunately I ordered 2 before I knew the price. I will happily order food as a takeaway but will never dine in again !

Booked a table here and whilst the place wasn’t busy we were kept waiting 10 minutes and once seated it was another 20 minutes before we were asked if we wanted drinks and papadums. Then the drinks did come. People who say later were served before us. An hour after sitting down we got our food - but they got the order wrong. We raised it with them and they said they would bring the right meal. We said it was fine as we didn’t want the extra food. 5 minutes later they brought the right meal and took the meal away that was being eaten whilst we were eating it ! Mood ruined the food they brought wasn’t touched and was boxed up and taken home. They took a couple of cheap items off the bill but needless to say we won’t be going back. Shame as the restaurant is in walking distance of our home and we like to support local businesses but in future we will drive to Denmead.

We went with a group of friends to taste Indian food. Their karai chicken was amazingly delicious. I am impressed with their service too. I recommend everyone to try...

Came here for date night and had a lovely time. Malik the owner came out to talk to us, the food and service was brilliant. Would definitely recommend and come back.

Nice atmosphere, but really let down by quality of food.Shashlick had the most flavour, but only four small cubed pieces of chicken for the main dish. A similar quantity of meat for both the madras and Pathia. Both the madras and Pathia was seriously lacking in flavour and sauce. The Pathia’s flavour was only that of the copious amount of onion it consisted of. The special fried rice was ok but the mushroom fried rice was lukewarm and greasy. The price was a bit on the high side for a village restaurant but overall this meal is one to be talked about for all the wrong reasons. It’s the first ever Indian meal we’ve eaten that had no flavours, save for the onion. Not to be repeated.

If I could I would give no start option. Usually I don't do the review, but they need to sort themselves out. It was the worst experience we had, dining in a restaurant! We just moved to the area and wanted to try out our local restaurant and had a big huge disappointed. We went in and looking for some sort of welcoming atmosphere but didn't, was an awkward encounter. Then our drinks come out and my coke was terrible flat, directly to a glass, not open in front of us. Just to see afterwards that they are pouring from a bottle. Obviously charge at a price of a restaurant. The buffet items very low in choices (aproximativ 20 as they advertise, but 6 of them are just toppings for papadoms) they are just 2 kind of chicken, one lamb, 2 naan bread, 2 types of rice, samosa and onion baaj as a side options and that is it. We have tried out other bufet before and this one was the lowest options. Then the top quality service came when the waiter come over to take our plates. He came straight to our table, hand on plates "have you finished?", then he took the plate before even answer. I actually had to ask my son if he finished after the man took already his plate. We felt like we've been kicked out in the middle of our dinner. I went in there because of the reviews, but obviously something went wrong on the way as the reviews are to good for their services

had our group evening meal. always been great in the past but of recent, not so! Staff, less aware and less attentive. had to keep chasing them. they were not busy. no hot towels as previously always supplied, genuine lack of interest in us , whereas before there always seemed a great rapport. korma was very watery - perhaps due to new chef maybe, but it lacked the depth and creaminess. hope they can turn things around - very competitive out there !

Recently discovered this pleasant little curry house. Excellent tasty food and good value for money. Staff very personable and attentive. Would definitely recommend.

I highly recommend this restaurant. We have used it. Regularly for takeaway across some years, but this was our first dine in experience and we cannot wait to go back! The food was amazing. We had a special authentic house dish made using a citrus fruit - I was sceptical but it turned out to be the best curry I have had from this far South through Southall to Birmingham! I also highly recommend the chicken pakora- it was the most succulent chicken I have eaten out in many years and very tasty. The staff were very helpful, welcoming, and professional yet warm. I look forward to going back

My wife and I (couple of old fogies!) visited Mela last night. Had an excellent meal (ordered too much really!), the staff were very friendly and the owner found time to chat to the customers. We had a great evening and on the basis of our experience would highly recommend this restaurant. We shall certainly patronise again, especially as it is only a walk away from our home.

I had the butter chicken and asked for it to be a little spicy. It was absolutely incredible. I've never had butter chicken before and I was over the moon with it. Will definitely be having that again!

Decided to try the restaurant for the first time for a takeaway. The warm and pleasant reception was the only good thing I can think of. The food was cold after picking up exactly when told to collect. The curry was bland and half of the mixed grill was missing after I specifically asked for plenty of the salad to go with it. There wasn't even enough salad for appetizer let alone any meals. Not going back.

Just awful! Watery curry, no taste....beware they are not what they used to be. We had 6 friends and family over for dinner and got a take away, spent alot of money and all of us where so disappointed with this bland and terrible excuse for a curry. I called up and spoke to the manager who had little in the way of customer after care, refused and form of money back and only offered one discounted dish if I wanted to order a meal again. I certainly would never want to eat this poor excuse for indian food again.

Superb menu, and if you fancy something you don't see, ask! Very friendly staff, and the owner always has a chat. Attentive, but no overly fawning staff. On top of this, it's very reasonably priced.

I have been using the Mela since it first opened, and in all that time I don't remember having a bad meal. Always excellent friendly service and food.tastes freshly cooked. I would highly recommend eating there.

First time I’ve ordered from Mela. Phoned through my order for collection after reading on your google page that they were only providing deliveries or collection. On arrival, it is obvious you were serving customers in the restaurant, it is important to keep your google page up to date so new customers know. This was disappointing. The lady who served me was friendly and helpful. We ordered samosas, Garlic Chilli Chicken, passanda, coconut rice & popadoms for £29, The food was nice but ok.

Just had a take away very disappointed ,I had a chicken biryani it had absolutely no flavour, my husband had a chicken madras again not impressed ,won’t be coming back waste of £25

The Mela is hands down my favourite Indian restaurant, everything about this place is brilliant! All of the servers are so kind and friendly especially Beth & Milad and make our experience perfect. The flavours in the food are always delicious and keep us coming...
