Spice Lounge in East Hampshire

Visited Feb'25. Ordered chicken tikka masala, lamb curry, garlic naan's and jeera rice. Gave this a 2-star review as the service was good but unfortunately the food wasn't. Chicken tikka masala - so much food colouring and more of a sweet taste rather than an authentic spice taste. Lamb curry - this wasn't lamb, it was sheep. Lamb is usually tender but this was chewy and hard to breakdown. Jeera rice - rice is rice no real issue there. Naan's - too thick, so doughy almost not cooked. If you're looking for an authentic Indian restaurant, this is not the one. I choose this restaurant based on the reviews but utimately was disappointed. It's a shame as the service was actually ok but the food really let it down. i won't be visiting again.

Advertising lunch outside and online. After climbing the steep stairs to the restaurant, the assistant had to check if the kitchen was open. It wasn’t. Timewasters.

The restaurant is 4 miles away but from ordering, the food took 85 minutes to be delivered, which is disappointing.

Have ordered delivery, picked up takeaway and sat in and this is the solid curry place in the area. Curries taste different to each other (seriously an issue at other places) really lovely staff and so glad to have multiple vegan options with protein in them. Have tried some other local establishments and won’t bother any more, Spice Lounge is the best

Our first visit since Deceember 2020. An enjoyable meal with two starters (£5.95 each), poppadoms, then Chicken Passanda (£10.95) and Dom Dom Express (Fish, £11.95). The blend of the individual spices was well balanced, including in the aubergine bhajee (£4.95). Mineral water expensive at £3.50. Service was timely, efficient and friendly; thank you. The room was rather chilly so we kept our coats on; the next door table also commented on the cold. Strangely, the mains were served directly on plates rather than in serving dishes placed on the usual metal hotplates to keep second helpings hot We can see the advantage from their point of view but we think that is a bad mistake. We commented on the lack of hotplates last time. The important Food Standards Agency Hygiene Rating is "Awaiting Inspection". That's odd, usually the current rating is shown on the FSA website while waiting for another inspection. Last time the rating was a 4, one below the maximum of 5. Acceptable but with definite room for improvement. Management, you might wish to comment on this? So; overall quite good, but still not yet up to the standard of the Malabon (Hygiene Rating 5) which remains our favourite Petersfield Indian.

We loved everything about dining here from the fairy lit interior and vibey ambiance to the cold Cobra beer and delicious curries. The lamb dupiaza I had was one of the best. So good I could have it for breakfast, lunch or dinner! We will definitely return.

Super tasty food, well worth a visit! Recently visited for dinner with friends and received a very warm welcome with lots of smiling staff to greet us, place was busy with lots of conversations and laughter, always a good sign. Our waiter was funny and had a laugh with us, which is always great But the food...The food was absolutely spot on! Delicious and tasty! Portion sizes were great, enough fill us all up and not over eat. Overall, this is a great experience. We'll be back for more.

Really fabulous food whether eating in or taking away. A very extensive menu, all super tasty and extremely reasonably priced. The building is beautiful and the staff warm, friendly and very helpful.

Family meal on a wet Sunday. Our first time at the restaurant and were impressed. We all ate from the buffet and found plenty of variety and enjoyed everything. Staff were very attentive and welcoming.

I want my money back I selected regular rice and received no rice so now I have to throw it in the bin!!!!!!!!!

Pre ordered food for delivery. Should have come at 5.40. After saying the order was late I got a text to say 6.05 delivery. Called restaurant who couldn’t get hold of driver but said it was on its way. 6.45pm over an hour late now and still no order. Refund requested. Very, very disappointing as I was looking forward to enjoying a curry. Would NOT recommend.

WOW. Just wow. First of all, the service is unbelievable. Constant great hospitality and always being checked up on by the boys: Mo, Mintu and Monz. Now let’s get stuck into the grub. Food is leng stillll. Cobra’s are the perfect beveragino to wash a lil curry down. The post-meal sweets are impeccable. Overall 10/10, great experience would recommend and will be back soon. Hands down the best curry house I’ve ever been to! The food is consistently amazing, with great quality and fantastic flavors. The team is super welcoming, always up for a laugh, and make you feel right at home. Service is quick, and the value on their offer nights is unbeatable. I visit regularly, especially in the winter, and it’s always a highlight of my week. Highly recommend!

Food was missing a tikka masala. We called the restaurant three times, they gave us three different answers about what was happening, food still hasn't arrived an hour after first delivery. This has ruined a birthday meal!!

Always a warm welcome weather eating in or picking up a take away. Food is delicious, always full of flavour and filling. Friendly helpful staff when using the buffet on a Sunday evening.

A wonderful restaurant. The food is first rate. The front of house team are exceptional in their customer service. This is our second time here and wilk be back again very soon.

They are open without a licence they got shutdown and reopened without permission.are rude over phone and had a go at me when I called.

They need serious lessons in how to please as waiters. We were rushed into ordering, asked whether it was ok at least 5 times, and hovered over, making for an unpleasant experience. Decor and ambience was very nice, but very busy with children running wild! Food was ok, but all meals tasted the same!

Went for the Sunday buffet, excellent range of curry’s and sides. Staff were attentive for drinks and good value for money.

Was cold when arrived some of the chicken was uncooked, missing items both drinks and a korma over all terrible service

Something has changed. We've dined there in the past but more recently used their takeaway service. The food used to be good but having ordered a few takeaway meals over the past year, the quality has fallen. We've given them the benefit of the doubt on these occassions but for the last one ordered, my dish was tasteless and with the consistency of soup it was so watered down. My family was equally dissapointed with their choices. Sadly, we will not be going back again.

Thursday evening, placed order at 17:14 for a starter, main, side, naan & poppadoms = £40. Estimated delivery time 17:55….. our delivery arrived at 18:35, everything was cold. Have raised with Just Eat who said the delivery didn’t arrived when complaint raised???? Will not be ordering again.

Absolutely delicious meal served by Mintoo and Izzy. The Palak paneer, onion bhajis and the special chicken Mery Poppins (honestly!) were all incredible. Highly recommend for an enjoyable evening meal in Petersfield.

So much salt! We couldn’t eat it was inedible! It’s normally fantastic and we order every month but couldn’t eat as far too much salt.

Our order was given to someone else so we had to wait to have a fresh order made. Really disappointed that there’s no code to say or something to make sure it’s the right people getting the order. However the food is lovely as always.

Curry was earlier shame bout the rice

Was told when phoning that no-one answered ghe door despite the fact I was sitting in the.lounge by the front door, 2 hours later had a call to say they were re-cooking and sending out, by then.my husband had gone to bed, completely upset and spoilt evening. When the food finally arrived it was missing rice and over cooked

Outstanding Food ! As someone who used to have Indian food every day, I can say this is one of the best restaurants I've been too. Amazing service, we asked to move to a bigger table and nothing was roo much trouble. Staff were all very attentive - taking drinks order and asking how the food was. DEFINATLY be back ! Absolutely amazing, I would recommend.

Out of all the local Indian restaurants I have tried, as a vegetarian this is by far the best. Rather than being a second thought, the food is flavorsome and delicious and the menu is varied and original. Just had another take away and it was 10/10 amazing!!

90 mins to deliver after app quoted 30-45 mins. Food then cold on arrival and needed reheating. Still tasty, Refused refund. Good food, poor service this time

Spicelounge never fails to deliver. Quality service and truly great food. Was feeling a little zesty when we popped in and splashed out on the Hyderabadi Shank, I decision I've had to live with since as each meal fails to live up to it. Strong recommend.

Took for absolute ever tonight just kept trying to get us to buy more drinks nearly 45 minutes just to get poppadoms and a pint then added extras to everyone's bills at the end for things we never ordered awful never again

Our first time ordering from the Spice Lounge and it was delicious! Food delivered on time, warm and was some of the best Indian food we have eaten! The driver was courteous and took notice of the delivery note left to not knock door too hard as to wake kids. I think we've found a new regular! Thank you!

My father and I visited this restaurant just last night. We arrived without booking, and were told to come back in an hour, and they would ensure seats for us when we return. When we came back an hour later, the restaurant was absolutely packed, but true to their word they had saved seating for us. The service on our visit was second to none. Polite and attentive, they couldn't have been more accommodating. The food was exceptional; fresh, perfect flavour and cooked to perfection. After the meal, the staff were kind enough to order us a taxi and we were given a complimentary glass of Bailey's. I would highly recommend visiting this restaurant. We may have to return on a Sunday, when they have an all-you-can-eat buffet. Yum!
