Paprika Indian Takeaway in East Hampshire

Ordered a couple of times and both times they were very greasy pizzas.

Food was delicious but unfortunately the cookies had stuck to the paper in box so didn’t come out box as cookies and was a lot of waste due to being stuck to the paper. Other than that food was good though

Regularly visit as food and service is always very good ....happy to cook food to you own requirements and away get a welcome

Pizza was freshly cooked and not skimpy on the ingredients. All sides were cooked perfectly. Food was piping hot. Garlic fries are very tasty.

Avoid this place like the plague - indeed, you would probably survive the plague better! If you like cold food , this is the place for you. If you like sweaty food, this is the place for you. So much inconsistency. I used to be a regular, but I won’t be any more. The rudeness of the staff is completely and utterly insane, and I would not wish this food on my worst enemy. I tried to call them to reason with them, but to no avail.

Not good! I have never complained. But the food was stone cold, not warm, cold. Cold chips. Cold meat. Yuk. I phoned and they did offer to remake but you lose your excitement when it’s hassle and faff. Lost a customer

Food didn't turn up, telephone number doesn't work, and they refuse to refund my money. Will certainly be steering clear of these in future. Complaint lodged with Just Eat - not that it will achieve anything.

Sorry for the poor review, I know you have a small business but you really need to try harder. This was the most uninspired limp kebab I have ever had. I had the 7”kebab box with chips. The bread was cold, there was just like warm chicken inside no salad or onions. The chips were limp and uninviting. Very meh. The seven very depressed looking staff represented how I felt whilst I ate my food. I know life isn’t easy but please can you pretend to try, smiles would be nice, music perhaps? More passion for the food you are cooking and do you need seven staff, two making boxes all night? Must be costing you a fortune. Anyway, best of luck, I’m afraid I won’t be a kebab customer again.

I've started ordering from Horndean pizza over the usual big pizza chains recently and I have to say I much prefer them. The pizzas are really well made and they never skimp on the ingredients. The side dishes are also very tasty. Turned up piping hot and what's even better is we saved some for the next day too! Pleased to support a local business that deserves it's praise! Will be ordering again!

Amazing food! The size of the wraps is amazing and the garlic dip tastes homemade.

I love this place food is always above expectations but a little upset that the chocolate dough balls and chicken burger have been taken off the menu otherwise it is a 5⭐

Ordered from here for the first time tonight, my girlfriend fancied kebab and I fancied pizza so the kebab box made our mind up, the kebab was cold, tasteless and the chicken was hard. The pizza was cold, dry and to be honest inedible. Very disappointed

This place used to be a our go to place for kebabs, burgers and chicken nuggets. The place has gone down hill so much in the past few years. stopped serving burgers, the donner meat now looks undercooked and the chicken nuggets were so pale and soggy. Will not be using horndean pizza shop again sadly.

The food here is excellent, as are the waiting staff. The Sheek kebab is probably the best I have ever had and my wife would probably say the same for their special balti (I can't remember it's full name). I too would say the same for the main but for the fact that I went for one slightly too hot for my taste...but that is another good thing for this place...you can order what you want and state what heat you want...medium, madras hot or something hotter. I don't know why I keep thinking I can manage the madras hot! Friendly and attentive waiting staff. We will return.

Had a large Doner last night and it was very tasty and massive!! I’m a big eater but could only manage about half of it. I’ve just had the leftovers and am bursting. Very very good.

My family have been ordering food from Paprika Horndean for over ten years and although the management has changed the food has always been fantastic. Tonight, 16th October 2022, I called to order the normal food for delivery and was told the price had gone up 5.00 it's not the fact that the price has increased by 5.00 it the fact that when I queried this, the guy I spoke to said everything has gone up. I said so we have to pay an extra 5.00 tonight, I confirmed that I would accept the delivery tonight but that would be the last time I ordered from Paprika, he replied you can leave this order if you like. I agreed and the telephone conversation ended, I feel this was very unfriendly and not the sort of customer care the owner would encourage. After the phone call I looked at the menu and the Paprika web site and there is no mention of a price increase. This is a shame as our family has supported the paprika and now have to find a new Indian take away. Within minutes of leaving my comment on the Paprika Facebook page it was removed.

Chicken in the wrap was cubed almost like frozen chunks you’d buy at Iceland … not fresh fillet like a kebab shop. Flavours were nice though but the chips were a bit dry. But I was starving so I ate it…. Probably wouldn’t order that again, but I have had the pizzas here a few times and they taste really good with lots of toppings and great value for money so I’d go back for those

Tried here for the first time tonight. Paid for 2 mayo dips, collected the order and the man behind the counter said the mayo was under and pointed at the bag. Got home and dips missing. The lettuce was hard, white and cabbage like - would be much nicer with some fresh crisp green iceberg. The chicken meat tasted strongly of curry powder and gave off more of an Indian curry taste. The donner kebab meat was yummy which is why I have given two stars.

Small independent pizza shop. We all loved the pizzas from here, tasty, good quality and really good value. Delivery and collection available.

Great food, its a bit like organised chaos when you go in, but the food and service is great, its a proper hidden gem, and long may it stay that way.

1st and last time getting anything from their I got a mix kabab nothing mixed about the chicken was frozen diced not fresh . it he ask if I wanted it in a wrap I said no just normal but it still came with a fajitha wrap where is my grease soaked pitia bread !!!!!

Just been for a lovely meal in the restaurant. Brilliant service and chat. Chicken tikka starter best I've had in a long time Garlic chill chicken and meat pathia mains with bombay aloo were perfect exactly the flavour they should be. Finished with hot towel and a baileys 👍 Will definitely be coming back

Just had a takeaway from this restaurant delivered by Uber Eats. We ordered a Vindaloo and a Biriyani. All we can say is....we will not be going anywhere else again. I make curry as a hobby and thought I would give this new restaurant a try. The Vindaloo was perfect. Hot and sour. The meat was exactly as expected. My wife is not a fan of trying new locations but her Biriyani has majorly impressed. You could taste all the ingredients and knew it was freshly made. Paprika you have 2 new fans. Thank you.

Ive had the pleassure of ordering from this place. The first pizza was pretty good but my sons pizza and the pizza I ordered the follwing week were terrible. its ok not great.

Unpleasant.. “chicken fillet” kebab the chicken is weirdly curried and has a spongey texture. Yuck, went in the bin

My partner had been here before with his football mates and had told me it was lovely. I disagree with him! It was excellent. My birthday meal tonight was the best Indian meal I have ever eaten. Our server Naz was wonderful and he even remembered my partner and his mates from last November. I would definitely come again when in the area.

Given 3 stars because I’m so disappointed at the moment, prices have gone up but size portion has gone down. Ours seems to be 50 percent salad, 20 percent chips and 30 percent meat. Such a shame it used to be brilliant value for money and well worth an order.

Lovely kebabs, infact, the best in the area. I always ordered online and got very quick delivery. The order process was quick and easy. Now, I'm not sure why but they have changed their website and broken it. I can no longer order online and the site does not recognise my address. I will still order by phone. Please go back to your original Web site.

Really warm and welcoming and faz the guy who served me is a diamond and as I don't order Indian ever he helped me order and spoke to me about the different selection they do will be visiting again soon thumbs up all day long

Don't recommend! Got my meal wrong, admitted it was their fault and then did nothing about and said I need to take it up with the delivery company even though they got the food order wrong which had nothing to do with the delivery company whatsoever!! Delivery company didn't even respond when I contacted them absolutely terrible service all round.

Ordered takeout. Portion size and flavours good. Unfortunately no popadoms arrived. Disappointed that the chicken was rubbery in texture and flavourless, most likely due to the fact they clearly used processed chicken instead of fresh. Sagaloo very wet and soggy. Unfortunately will not be re ordering.

Love the lamb kebabs from here, the meat is always nice and soft, not like boot leather that is the norm it seems. Since i ordered from there last year i have not had one complaint, they do use a homemade flatbread instead of a pitta bread, which is amazing! Well worth a try 😀

Have used Paprika in Horndean previously and liked it. Last night however one of the meals ordered was dire. Butter chicken and pilau rice. The curry was awful and definitely not butter chicken, most likely a sickly sweet passanda with awful sauce and way too much coconut. The pilau was over cooked and terrible. After a bad experience accross the road and after being told to go to the other indian in town. We did what any sane human would do and completely ignored them. Did we make the right decision? Too right we did fantastic service, exquisite food absobloodylutely FAB-U-LOUS! Next time we are down here definately coming back thankyou for a delicious meal to all at Paprika!

The chef must be ill and a waiter must have stepped in because that was terrible the onion bahji must have been made last month the curry was bland the tikka was tougher than Chuck Norris I’ve been coming here for 20 years can east that again off over the road more money there but can’t eat that again . Absolutely lovely food. Pizzas are well prepared, evenly topped and very tasty. Also very much packaged with care. Our curly fries and chicken strips were great too! The cookies were amazing, so soft and fudgy. Cannot recommend here enough. Also a big plus - the very sustainable packaging! Thank you for not using polystyrene :)

We visited the Paprika recently after reading the TripAdvisor reviews and made the decision to have a meal midweek. The starters and main courses were presented beautifully and the food tasted as good as it looked. The service we just spot on with the waiter being interested to know how we found the restaurant and if we enjoyed the meal without being pushy. We will certainly be paying another visit in the near future.

Myself, my hubby and our two children dined here twice during our weekend break in Portsmouth. Cannot fault anything about this resturant. The food is amazing and full of flavour, excellent service and the staff could not do enough for us! We frequently visit Portsmouth and we will always book a table here.

5 star: Extraordinary. A elite standard of customer service. Staff always ready to help, extreme cleanliness, posh atmosphere and delicious food with perfect delivery. A top standard restaurant for any occasion, i will definitely visit again.

Ordered a few times from here. The kebabs are nice. Yet a few times asked for my pitta bread to be wrapped seperate as I don't eat them. Yet my son does. And arrived in a pitta bread. Phoned to say. And he said I forgot to write it down. Been a few times now. I presume when you place a order. And ask for instance pitta bread seperate. They actually listen and write it down. As you are a paying customer. And they take the order properly. As you pay for what you ask for.

Yesterday was my husbands birthday. Normally we’d go out for dinner somewhere but with COVID 19 closing all restaurants we opted to pick up a takeaway from here. I phoned through the order, and the lady on the phone was very helpful. She even called me back as I’d told her about my nut allergy, and the chef had advised my husbands dish contained almonds. They wanted to double check this wasn’t my order before cooking it!The order was ready within about 40 minutes which was great. I picked it up and the chef had even put my husbands food in a separate bag to keep it away from mine. The food was absolutely delicious! I’m often slightly disappointed by takeaways when I get them home, but this food was really good. We don’t have takeaways very often but will definitely order from there in future. Once lockdown finishes we will be planning an evening meal in their restaurant too!

Dropped in for a meal. Started ok,seemed positive. Ordered drinks and our meal. Over an hour later still no meal. Had a word with the waiter,next the manager arrive. Oh dear case of someone who needs training in customer service. It's your problem if you haven't enough staff and are busy. Dont use it as an excuse. Asked if the meal wasnt out in 5 mins we would leave. Probably never use to someone who has waited over an hour not prepared to wait any longer. Within minutes our meal arrived,andslammed onto the table by the surly manager..oh dear. Sadly the food was only average and no apology for the wait. Please note other diners had been waiting equally as long.

Decided to try out this newly reopened restaurant and we were not disappointed. The staff were very friendly and although we had to wait a bit for our main courses , the food was excellent and worth waiting for! We will definitely go again.

We visited as a party of 9 for a birthday meal yesterday and had a lovely time. I had contacted the restaurant before hand as could not see the restaurant menu on their website and they took the time out to photograph the menu and send the photos to me. Some of us opted for the set £13.95 - 5 course menu, and the rest chose from the regular menu. The set menu (available Sunday - Wednesday) had a large choice and included any starter (king prawn £1 extra), rice or naan bread, any side dish, curry (around 15 to choose from), coffee or icecream. The portions were a good size and very filling.They also do healthy/low fat options of popular dishes which cost a little more - spends £'s but save lb's!Also have vegan and gluten free options.We received a free birthday balloon and slice of chocolate cake for the birthday guy, which was a lovely touch and they brought it out with a candle singing happy birthday which we were not expecting!The staff were very attentive and friendly, we did not have a long wait for food either, but might be different on a Friday or Saturday night as we visited on a Monday.Would highly recommend.Large bottles of water were free, beer is around £5 for a draught pint.The saag paneer is made with the cubes of cheese, not the melted kind that a lot of places now do, and was very nice! Actually it was all lovely!

This is a new restaurant - and under new management - having recently converted from only being a takeaway. Our takeaways were always great, and to be able to sit-in and have the same great quality food is a big bonus. The staff were excellent, and the layout means that takeaway customers aren't wandering through the restaurant to pay/pick up their food. Excellent - and well worth a visit.

What a fabulous place. We were greeted with warm friendly staff and seated immediately, with exquisite food and friendly efficient service. Ideal for that romantic evening or just a reasonable priced treated. The food was well presented and tasted delicious. Well worth a visit.

So good to see this restaurant reopened , good was served promptly very friendly staff , can't wait to go back to the nice warm atmosphere . I would recommend to all . Just one downfall is the stairs if you are looking for good tasty food well worth the climb.

Had my first takeaway tonight from Paprika, after living here for 20 years, second visit could be as soon as tomorrow, great value and tasty food.

A group of 10 visited on Saturday 11/1/20, we had pre booked and arrived promptly on time, we were welcomed and seated by a very rude and abrupt waiter(it later turned out he was the owner), we had to wait an age to place a drinks order, which when arrived was completely wrong, a long time after we were told our food order wouldn't be taken for around 40 minutes due to a lot of takeaway orders being placed, when we voiced our displeasure at this, our order was eventually taken, we subsequently had to wait a total of 1 hour 40 mins for any food to be served, on each of the occasions that we politely enquired how long the food would be until it arrived, we were replied to in an inexcusable manner. Truly terrible service and also pretty average food(at best), my advice would be to avoid this place at all costs.

So, as a group of 10 snooker players playing in a National Competition. It’s currently 21.10, we booked our table for 19.30 and as yet we haven’t been served our main course as we speak. Only 3 of us ordered starters, which took an age... The drinks ordered were served all wrong.

Recently reopened as a sit down curry. Very impressed by both food taste, quality and service. Daughter said it was the best prawn tikka masala ever, and she has had a few.

Myself and a friend recently visited the newly refurbished and reopened paprika sit down restaurant. What can I say, service impeccable, food delicious. Nothing was too much trouble. We will return.

We were recommended this by a friend, family came over and so we ordered pizzas and kebabs. Waited one hour and fifteen minutes, we live five minutes away by car. On arrival the food was absolutely vile. The chicken was not real chicken and was tasteless and cold the salad consisted of shredded white cabbage two rings of cucumber and one slice of tomato. The pizzas were over cooked and the topping was rubbery and tasteless. The cookies sent were burnt. The chicken strips were cold. What a huge disappointment for what was not a cheap meal particularly as most went in the bin. I won’t be recommending this place to any body. I will also post this on google reviews.

I love Madras and was disappointed with this. Seemed to lack flavour and the rice was a bit stodgy. On the plus side food reasonably priced and staff pleasant and efficient.

Love the food from here. I drive just to get this takeaway. Love the fresh dough on the base and selection of toppings at no extra cost. Kebabs are tasty and the chicken shish wrap is yummy.

Literally just less than 3 minutes ago was in this place where I was going to order a kebab. I spotted a fly actually on the kebab meat at it was turning. When I asked the woman behind the counter if it actually was a fly she swatted it away, and said "yeah, it was a fly" Needless to say I walked out instantly.

Chicken was bought in frozen and re-heated in an oven (was told by the rude lady on the phone), the pita wasn't actually a pita bread, the chilli sauce was ketchup with chilli powder in it and it was so badly put together I thought it had been dropped. I also had mozzarella sticks that hadn't been cooked. Literally the worst kebab I've ever had.

Good well presented food. Good variety of dishes. Friendly staff and well mannered. Reasonably priced dishes.

We used to love ordering from here when we were kids and I ordered from here crossing my fingers that it hadn't changed. It was exactly the same yummy pizza and loaded potato skins!! Loved it - brought back lots of lovely memories!! :-)
