Clavio Lounge in East Hampshire

This place definitely has character and stands out on the Petersfield high street—there’s really nothing else like it in the area. The food is consistently good, and I’ve been a few times now. It’s more of a restaurant than a pub/bar, so I wouldn’t go just for a drink. That said, I’m not a fan of ordering at the bar when the setup suggests table service would make more sense. The service was disappointing and in my opinion let it down. While it’s clearly popular and well-run, it’s part of a chain—and for the price and quality, I’d personally rather support a local independent business. Still, it’s a solid option if you’re in town and looking for something familiar but well done.

My husband and I, along with our Chow Chow, had a wonderful lunch experience today. We love the food options, including vegetarian. It’s a bonus that it’s super dog friendly. Tasha and Marianna go above and beyond with their customer service; both very understanding and eager to resolve any issues. We look forward to further visits and trying out one of the deliciously sounding milkshakes!

Went for a midweek meal with my wife and a couple of friends. Not too busy, great service. Sherbert lemonade and Korean BBQ burger were great, bur sweet potato fries were a little undercooked and raw tasting. Didn't detract from the visit too much though and would go back.

Tiny portions - not worth the money. Service was terrible. We asked for a table for 8 and were met with a disgusting attitude. Food was slow. One meal took ages to come, while the other 7 had almost finished. You can’t order with a waitress- they only bring things out. Food came out cold. Very poor value. Would not come again.

Service pretty poor; was shown to our table without much courtesy. Ordering system not explained, and clearly didn’t want to be there. Had the tapas with a selection of 6 plates, all very average and I’m guessing not at all freshly made. Would not recommend at all if honest.

Food was great, really great flavours and delivered in good time. Our host marianna was lovely, very bubbly and helpful, we will be back again soon.

The best gluten free menu I've seen, I almost felt like a normal person out to eat, great service and loved the decor

Went as a group of 10 for a family birthday. We ordered via the app and some of the kids food took so long to arrive that the rest of the group had finished their meal by the time it appeared. Also the waiter was very unfriendly and grumpy which definitely put us off returning.

The food is ok, quite bland -but there is a good selection and a kid pleasing, kids menu. Friendly and helpful staff.

A very nice and cosy place to come to catch up with friends over a coffee or a meal. Indoor and outdoor seating available with a good selection of food to choose from. Cocktails, coffees and soft drinks available. A little bit pricey for those on a budget, but the food is of good quality and the service on our visit was efficient and friendly. It was mainly the price that made me rate this not a full five stars as I felt I would have ordered more off the menu if the prices had been slightly cheaper. I understand that pricing may not be an issue for some but for me it's something I have to consider when choosing where to eat out. It's a lovely place which I would recommend though as the staff were friendly and the food was tasty.

After ordering we waiting over an hour for 4 standard breakfasts which eventually arrived luke warm. Bacon and toast arrived cold.

I ordered sweet potato fries with butterfried chicken. Almost all the fries were burnt. I asked for them to be replaced, and they were, but by the time they were returned to the table, the chicken was cold. I couldn't be asked to complain again because my husband had almost finished his meal by the time my meal was returned to the table.

Food is always incredible, staff are very friendly and the service is crazy fast! Favourite place to go for brunch.

We were welcomed to this quirky restaurant and quickly sat. We order snack, but our plates turned up looking like a full meal. The food was excellent and the staff friendly and efficient. We will be going back.

We visit Clavio atleast once a week for coffee and / or brunch. The food is tasty and service is quick. The staff are friendly and helpful. Plenty of space for larger groups and those with children. Its also Dog friendly!

Great service. I accidentally double tapped a drink on their table order app when ordering my meal and they kindly offered to refund me. Friendly, welcoming service and great food. Recommended.

I was ignored at the bar and the bar staff served 4 people who arrived after me. Can’t comment on the food and drink because I decided to leave . Rather disappointing.

You need to do everything on your phone for ordering/paying. A reasonable wait once you've ordered. You can just sit and have a drink with a friend or take in the kids!

They serve an excellent breakfast. A popular place to eat. Somewhat busy but swift service.

This is a great place for drinks and food.They do tea , coffee and cakes and they do nice lunch and in the evening they do tapas.My only complaint is it is quite expensive although it is worth it.Also the atmosphere is brilliant.

Absolutely incompetent. Took mum for a meal today. Big veggie breakfast, eggs that were clearly old and been sitting, tomatoes that were mashed. No veggie sausages. They took it away to resolve it, while our food just got cold waiting...I asked and still it took more time. It then came with one sausage, I questioned that as it says sausages on the menu. Yes should be another! By this time all my food was cold.. mums was returned to the table, tepid at best. I asked for a full refund of everything except my partners as he had eaten his ( alone) It was refunded but it really was beyond incompetent on the kitchen staff to send half what we ordered, then send it cold. Won't go again. Mum has gone home hungry and our day was ruined.

Went for birthday lunch. Pretty packed but didn’t have to wait long for a table. Waited quite a time for the food though. But when it came it was hot and tasty. Certainly be revisiting. Mind you, we only live 100 yds away!

Felt like breakfast was pre cooked and not cooked to order. Sausage was burnt at one end, that made it dry, the bacon was cold, egg cold and hash brown soggy. Disappointing!!

Ate here today with family. 1st timer. Sat on the settee and arm chairs which was perfect with my 10 month old grandson. We all had the flatbreads and all thoroughly enjoyed them. Very very tasty. Menu was extensive. Will definitely return

Manager was rude obviously was having a bad day but don’t need to take it out on your customers. Was turned away at first as they had ‘no tables’ but they had a few that were empty but with dirty plates on with no one on. I waited for them to finally clean a table. Asked him for an extra menu and he tutted and walked away. Other waiters were great.

Staff did their best but the wait was long and when it arrived it was cold and very poor. Been sitting around for awhile so was dried up. Staff did offer replacement but was past it by then. We had 4 tapas plates and it was only the kofta that was worth eating. Very disappointed

Hattie made the best coffee I’ve had in a very very long time , was visiting parents and stopped on the way in and made us feel so welcomed . Will definitely be back :) thank you Hattie for a great chat !

Another great lounge. Great for brunch and a coffee. Team are friendly and helpful. . Sometimes it's a bit noisy as no soft surfaces to muffle sound.

Went in here on my own for lunch. Lovely welcome, given a choice of seating and ordering explained (on phone or at bar). Ordered on app and was brought cutlery, drink then sandwich separately and each member of staff was cheerful and polite. Food good, although only had sandwich. Definitely would recommend.

Nice food hall/cafe/lounge for relaxing, eating a snack, brunch or a coffee while you work. Clean and cozy but also enough tables to accommodate different needs. Good americano.

Had been a while since we ate here but returned for a family lunch. Ordered a fish finger sandwich, a bacon sandwich, a sausage sandwich and one kids beef burger. Kids meal was fine but the quality of the sandwiches were awful! It was mainly due to the bread being the same standard as value, thin sliced bread from low cost supermarket. Not what was expected when paying £50 for lunch. The waitress did apologies and offered the excuse that the supplier of the bread had changed. Should have sent it back really but with a hungry family, just ate it. Don’t think we shall be quick to return.

This was a good find. Dog friendly, welcoming, good service and good food. Coffee was large and hit the spot.

Perfectly fine. It's part of a chain so you get what you would expect. The staff are friendly and good food as well. It's a bit cheeky asking for a tip when you order on an app though.

What a lovely eclectic place for tea.

Updated 20240704 having been to Sage and Salt for their wonderful art exhibition on the sea (go to it, spend money, support the artists!) it was definitely time for dinner. Squid, burgers, tea, coffee. Unfortunately no room for pudding as burgers huge and satisfyingly filling. Worth every penny. Original... Serendipity again. Once you've realised the ordering is by the QR codes on the table it's dead easy. Allergies are very easily identified straight from the log in so it's good to have that level of care. Child and dog friendly it is. Music might be a bit on the loud side (so might not be to all tastes) but no stress as there are some quiet places in this huge area. Also, good range of music ranging from classic blues to stuff that's more salsa. Staff very friendly and efficient; it was almost instantaneous from clicking that the food arrived. Coffee good, firm froth on the cappuccino which is always a nice thing, and you even have the option of no chocolate from the electronic menu... Although it's it even a cappuccino without chocolate! Arm chairs deep and comfortable and a nice buzz on the place.

Love the lounges! Great vegan options, quick to arrive, even though it was busy. We sat outside as there was bingo on Monday night and we wanted to catch up. I had the most amazing Buddha Bowl (which I wouldn’t usually go for, but so glad I did). The carrot cake was excellent, too. Monday is free dessert night and includes the vegan menu (as it should!). Will definitely be back.

Really friendly staff. Great service and fantastic food. First time we have been here. They do a great deal for tapas Tuesday and they do delicious cocktails offers as well. We both really enjoyed the meal and the service was first class.

We’ve enjoyed coming here for a snack since Clavios opened and have always been happy with the food and service. I often have the hummus tapas but today it was really disappointing and very different. It was massively reduced in portion size, had no garlic or parsley in it and was actually tasteless and looked like it had been put in the serving dish hours earlier! The waitress was great and replaced it. Better but still totally lacing any flavour. This will now make me think twice about coming back. My husband’s fish finger sandwich was great btw!

Enjoyed food and friendly service but as it was busy the noise spoilt any attempt at conversation.

Nice ambience, friendly staff but the food was poor. I had a fish finger sandwich that had a hint of fish drowned in tartar, a small portion of fries and a bizarrely overpriced portion of onion rings - there were 4 in the portion and they were miserable. To top it all, the strawberries and cream milkshake tasted like a cheap pound shop strawberry protein drink with lots of cream thrown on. Overall, inauthentic, cheap, lowest common denominator food that is better in virtually every other restaurant I’ve been to. Avoid.

Great atmosphere and decor. Food normally great but yesterday I ordered the soup lunch deal and it was so salty it was inedible. I told the waitress who just said she would tell the chef.

Food not reflective of the price. I had the Chicken Kyiv Burger which was very over done. The chicken and bacon were beyond crispy....fries were good. My Husband and daughter didn't enjoy theirs either. Unfortunately didn't have a very good experience here so won't be returning. Found it to be very expensive and food wasn't good enough or portion sizes.

Pretty good food for the money actually. I had the eggs royal which was lovely. All 4 of us eating were happy with our lunch and it didn't break the bank even though my step daughter did the usual of ordering the most expensive thing on the menu.

Nice place, nice staff. Small gf roll sandwich for nearly £8. Nothing on the side, no garnish, no crisps. Very poor value for money.

Food quality was great, and the service was very efficient and professionally run. During our lunch, there was a nice feel to the place. The only possible reason to grumble would be the overall prices as it was just shy of £40 at the time of writing for 2 cooked lunches, 1 coffee, and 2 soft drinks. It could be cheaper if you choose carefully. It is worth noting that the price does repwct the quality of the items and how well prepared it all was. We especially enjoyed the poached eggs, which were perfectly cooked, on muffins.

We went in for breakfast, which was very nice . I do wish they would give a whole flat bread and not cut them down. But the service was good and we would go back.

Warm welcome, nice setting, and good food. Best not being we’d ordered kids pancakes not realising the sauce and bananas came already on them which our son didn’t want and when asking if we could order (and pay for) more to come plain, they said they’d happily just replace the original serving free of charge, which they certainly didn’t have to as it was our mistake. Great customer service.

Very disappointed with today's visit. Brunch was good and eggs cooked nicely. Coffee was appalling. Obviously made with boiling water hence burning the Coffee. Complained but barrista didn't bother to come over. Staff not very friendly.

A great place to go for a bit of breakfast, brunch or lunch or dinner. Great themed decor and great atmosphere. Very busy with all types of people visiting which was lovely to see. The menu is great and well catered varity also great dietary requirement options including gluten-free and vegan menu was superb. My only bug which I wished wouldnt be is with the amazing burgers on offer but only with brioche buns and I'm so over sweet buns with a savoury dish it's just personal preference. The choice of a classic burger bun or brioche bun would be great. I had to change my order from a burger to the truffle chicken because there was no other bun option which was disappointing because the burgers looked great. What I did have was really tasty and my partner really enjoyed his gluten-free chicken burger and my son enjoyed his beef burger. Drinks were good too. The prices were very good. Didn't wait long, even though they were busy, and the staff were lovely and helpful. We didn't book and got a table straight away. Definitely going back and they are dog friendly which is even better.

I had an excellent breakfast - Miaimi Brunch with a mug of coffee - when I was in Petersfield early on Sunday morning. The food was very tasty and promptly served. Staff were friendly, checked that all was well but did not hovver unnecessarily. A first class experience.

Having visited the Cadno lounge cafe in Neath, South Wales many times which is a lovely place , we were looking forward to trying the Cavio lounge in Petersfield for an afternoon birthday lunch. Having been pleasantly shown our table I then went to the bar to order drinks . I was the only person at the bar and the staff member did not ask me what I wanted, considering she saw me. I had to move towards her to get served. I found this strange. Having ordered our starter which was two flat breads, we were surprised that they were cold, the chicken flatbread was okay but cold, however the lamb was solid, dry, clearly had been microwaved. The bread was rock hard unfortunately I struggled to cut it. I could have done with a steak knife . When we were asked if the meal was okay, we tactfully explained that it was not what we expected. The member of staff was pleasant however, she went onto to explain that the flat breads were being taken off the menu nationally because they had difficulty with them. We ate what we could but being typically British we did not complain at the time. Considering that this was for my wife’s 65th Birthday we feel that on this occasion sadly we needed to. I hope that this is just a one off.

Venue The venue is convenient for shoppers and visitors to the town, with ample parking nearby. Everything was clean and inviting. Service Staff were friendly and welcoming. Food & Drink The food was good. The menu is largely the same between lounges. Overall A good spot for breakfast, brunch or lunch.

Lovely place to go. Food always excellent and good value. Staff always friendly. Dog friendly too with plenty of space which is excellent for those with furry friends! Highly recommended.
