Dropped by for a coffee last week. The service was okay though the coffee was nothing to write home about.
The first time I tapped my bank card the assistant said it hadn't worked, so I inserted the card and tried again. Checking my statement a few days later I found I'd been charged twice. So instead of £2.50, the coffee cost me £5.00.
I've been in touch with the café several times, but had no response.
I hope this isn't happening to everyone!
I entered teh shop for a take away as I was shopping in Chichester and was hungry.
I saw a very inviting looking pasty 'Beef and chilli' advertised at £4.70 take way price. I offered a £5 Bank of England note (Legal tender in England I am led to believe). I was told 'I am unable to accept cash' I shall be complaining to trading standards about this but in the mean time please don't shop here until they accept the currency of the land.
Flat whites took a while and they were lukewarm, if the girls spent less time chatting then the microwaved food we were having for our order would have been hot. very underwhelming and pricey
Aunque por una vez el café no se había quedado sin lo que queríamos el tiempo que tardó en ser servido fue increíble. Personal amable, pero no lo suficiente de ellos o demasiado lento. Casi pierdo la voluntad de
Vive. Usará M&S a partir de ahora
I have always found the fish and chips from this shop very good, this evening however, it was as though I had visited a different place altogether. I ordered two medium haddock, but was surprised to see two very small pieces of fish, not what I have experienced in the past. I dread to imagine how small the small fish are. Maybe I was given small by mistake. Sadly the chips were overcooked, which added to my disappointment. So sorry to make such a negative review, but I will try there again as past experiences have been much better.
Good meeting point for post the shopping.
Excellent Pain au Raison. Americano a bit generous even as the 'regukar' size, but good flavour.
Hayling Seagoon
Went in for a cuppa and cake before an appointment nearby. Strange welcome at entrance - an abrupt "Have you come for click and collect?' I also wanted to purchase an item I'd seen online and to say the floor stay were unhelpful is an understatement. I got a filthy look for daring to interrupt a conversation amongst themselves. One of them waved a hand saying "Look over there. If it's not there we haven't got any". Decided not to bother with the cafe and left.
Midhurst so needs this little shop in the High Street and I have always had a warm welcome. The food is excellent, particularly the Tartiflette but the salmon quiche is also to die for. It’s a proper taste of a France and just what we need in these post Brexit times.
Been visiting Costa Liscard for years and always put photos on Facebook.
I have now been refused service for taking a photo which is not illegal.
Lesson learnt woke strikes again
Stunning sunny day with views over Chichester Harbour . Fish and chips were gluten free and delicious and the seafood linguine was great. Nice modern feel to the inside , I think it’s been made over and has new management since we last ate here .
Limited gluten free puddings but some lovely ice cream was very enjoyable after the filling lunch
Dog friendly , cannot wait til the nicer weather to be able to sit out in the large outdoor seating area
Visited the Hungry Guest Cafe when it was in its old location and it was fabulous. Today was a totally different experience. The cafe is now outdoors only which seems like a very strange decision but covered by big parasols and there are blankets. When it came to ordering drinks we wanted to order breakfast tea and were told they had run out of tea, and only had peppermint. It is a Sunday but no cafe that is efficiently managed should run out of tea. There is a Co-op shop just across the car park so a bit of initiative from staff could have seen the problem solved. After a wait of approximately 45 minutes our food had not arrived and a waitress came to clear our drinks and asked if we had finished. We are pretty sure they had forgotten to put the food order through as it was only quiche and salad and a sandwich and the cafe was not that busy. When the food eventually came it was tasty but sadly slightly ruined by the wait. Having said that staff were extremely polite and friendly but won’t be enough to make us visit again. What a shame.
