Excellent! Chips are consistently crisp and tasty. The battered halloumi is lovely and very much appreciated.

Tried once and never again nothing special. You can tell chips are soggy and reused many times no freshness.. There are better places around we tried and it was better. I am not gonna name them find it yourselfs but other places have better quality than this one.

Don’t bother, get take away from the pubs nearby. Greasy chips and unfriendly staff are not worth the money you will be asked to spend here.

Got the order wrong and the fish was dry and stale tasting. Kids enjoyed theirs at least

Only tried the fish and chips and they were excellent. Straight out of the fryer, into the box and then into my big mouth! The curry sauce made all the difference so make sure you get a tub.

Excellent fish and chips that we look forward to every year when we holiday in Wittering. Staff are friendly and remember all their regulars. Orders are made fresh at a good speed and to a high-quality. The chips are some of the best I've ever had!

I went in at 8.30 ish and there was 5 other people waiting for their order and 1 person had just ordered and as I come in and try order the person refused to take my order as they are closing now which to me I was confused due to fact they close at 9 and so I leave. The food is getting a 1 since I didn't even order The service also a 1 due to the problem I had with the server

My husband went here to get fish and chips whilst we are on holiday down here , and omg it was horrible 🤢 The saveloy didn’t even taste like a saveloy and no flavour and texture was awful I have had a saveloy before quite a few different places and they taste a lot better . My son had sausage and batter but it was like play dough texture it wasn’t crispy batter at all he said he couldn’t eat it , And some of the chips were dry and crispy , and not very nice and certainly weren’t fresh . For a sea side resort fish and chip place it’s really bad .

Don’t understand English and can’t understand what you are ordering. Service slow and hopeless will never go back in there again! Only went in as Moby’s is closed on a Monday. In future will not have fish and chips on a Monday can’t go through that again !!!!!!!

We've just stopped here on our way back to our holiday home, the person behind the counter did not understand our order first of all and it took four of us to explain that we wanted just 1 chips. Oh my word, we are a chippy family and these were all the scraps, the only few chips that weren't just batter, the fat burst out of them in oil pockets and as we searched for some more we found a long black hair wrapped around a chip. 99% went to the seaguls and they "they've had better" too..... absolutely disgusting! For a posh holiday village I am shocked!

Had a portion of chips. Waste of money as I didn't get many decent chips. Lots of really crispy bits but not chips. They were cold as well. Perhaps went in too early and had the lunchtime left overs.

Passing through and stopped for something to eat. Have to say the chips are BEAUTIFUL. Fresh, hot, and crispy with soft fluffy middles. 😍 Tbf they are the BEST chips I've ever had! Reasonably priced and lush food. Highly recommended 👌

Chips tasted like they had been recooked. Fish batter wasn’t fully cooked. Fish inside was quite dry, maybe not terribly fresh. Nice man who served us though.

I’m just in the area temporarily pet sitting and I’ve bought a small cod and chips twice this week from here… really great portion size for one and the batter/cod was delicious! Chips also perfect… very good value for money and lovely friendly staff. I’d highly recommend.

Have eaten here before and chips good enough for a late night munch but went in at 8.50pm , doors were open but they said they were closed. Why advertise 9pm closing if you close at 8.50pm or before? Literally a prime location in East Wittering and they are blowing it with poor service and average products. Would be concerned if I owned this place; the crazy thing is it's so easy to make good f&c's.

Shocking service at this place last night. Two of 3 staff were on their phones with a queue going out the door and a total mess of all three orders before us. Place was filthy as well. Fish was ok when we finally got it though. Sad as previous owners were quite on the ball. I just hope they were having a bad day but we won’t be back!

The fish and chips were pretty awful to be honest. I was really looking forward to a good fish and chips, but they were tasteless. And the guys working there, were unorganized for the queue that they had.

Really nice food, crispy batter. Quite expensive, however. 2023 Update: They now take card payments! Food still quite expensive but chips were excellent, I couldn't stop eating them. Every chip was crispy and tasty. The fish was delicious. When I arrived home, I ate the leftovers of one of my children and the fish was still great and batter still crispy a few hours later.

I don’t like to give bad reviews but I do have to review this place. We ordered x3 large fish and chips. The size was good. When we got home and we all were very hungry the Fish was not fresh as very compact and not flaky. The batter was soggy and not crispy. Chips were also soggy and lots of bits not that many big ones. Hardly warm, we all were very disappointed as there was a lovely atmosphere with the staff. Probably they should cook to order. I would like to know how long the fish and everything else sits under the heated light?. Very disappointed and we will not go there again.

Absolutely the worse fish and chips shop, they use frozen fish not fresh at all, and the place was dirty, no way it taste like fish, I travel up and down the country and I was better of having an over dated sandwiches honestly

The worst Donna kebab I’ve ever had pitta weren’t made just laid on the bottom of pot hardly no meat and topped with salad and sauce soggy straight in the bin

We was down west wittering for day out on Sunday after the beach we went 5 minutes down the road to the boathouse take away and we all was really pleased with how nice the food was and reasonable prices, I had kebab myself for £7 which was one of the best I’ve had from any take away place, so we woukd recommend this place to anyone 100% and we will be visiting back in July when we are on holiday down that way 👍🏻🙂

Visited on a Sunday evening around 7.30pm, trade was very busy and we had both a small wait to order and a wait for food to be ready. Upon ordering 3 items we wanted were out of stock, but we perserved and we had a selection of kids meals, doner meat, and adult meals with sides. Unfortunately, most items seemed to have been cooked in old oil and were cold by the time we got to it. Shame as it appears to be a family run business in a great location.

My first time here. I had a battered sausage and the doner meat and chips with chili sauce. Honestly, the only thing in my meal with any flavor were the chips. The rest was tasteless without the chili sauce, in which case, I was tasting just the chili sauce. I will give it a try again before I totally give up on this place. Maybe next time I’ll try the fish.

The queue was outside the door so thought it must be a winner. Sadly our food was pretty much cold 5 mins after being handed over. We had already driven away so didn't really want to go through the hassle of returning. Lesson learnt is always ask for it fresh 🎣

Short stroll from the beach. Consistently good fish and chips, as well as a broader range including kebab and burgers. Friendly staff and prompt service.

Stopped by for doner meat and chips before travelling home (was out of town). Really nice guy and good sized portion for the money. Doner meat was lovely and the chips were spot on. Shame it wasn’t closer to where I live!

A group of us got fish and chips from here today and it was honestly so yummy!! The chips were amazing and the fish was cooked to perfection! The staff were also really friendly, I would definitely recommend this place!

Another review to add to my collection in pursuit of fine quality fish and chips. A local take away for me. I decided to try it out as my usual place was closed. Really interested to see the quality as it is under new management. On entering the appearance was vey clean and a nice friendly greeting by the owner (Fred). Ordered one small cod and two regular cod, all with chips. Told it would be about seven minutes as it would be cooked to order. Nice chat with the owner as I waited. Nice to see fully recyclable boxes used for the food. Also a good paper carrier bag. Results, really nice fish and chips. Crispy batter with nice flaky white fish. Chips really good, not overly cooked so that they go hard. Taste was really good. Quite happy to recommend this establishment and will certainly use again. Hope they get the support of the local community during the quieter winter months. Attached picture is of the regular cod and chips.

Well I wish I'd taken photos now! The food was lukewarm and very minimal, meat just put on top of the pitta bread, lamb kebab and a mixed lamb Donna with chips, it consisted of all Donna meat and five very small pieces of lamb, we ate in and we're charged £25 for the pleasure which it definitely was not! The owner was rude, his whole demeaner was basically very poor, he treated his staff member like a dogs body, I really would not recommend this place unless your happy to be ripped off. It was absolute rubbish, we left feeling very annoyed and disappointed.

Well, this place is absolutely the best place for fish and chips in West vitering You can tell the owners care about their place because it is so well kept up.The food itself is delicious. Fish is tender and flaky the way fish should be. The batter is thin and crisp with just the right flavor. Highly recommended

Absolutely horrible food fish was like it had been sat there under the heater all day and the kebab was grey flavourless and chilli sauce was like some cheap bottle stuff. I'd not recommend this place at all I'd have rather gone to the shop near and got a meal deal

Awful. The kebab salad wilted, and the chips were hard and unedible, looked like they had been overcooked again and again. The shop itself is filthy and the staff miserable.

I've recently got really into fish. I ordered 2 large cod, 2 chips, a burger and curry sauce here Yesterday. Drove down to the beach with my lady and we ate it there. The cod was perfect! Chips, perfect. Burger, same again. Great job lads, we'll be back soon!

It was only this choice for fish with chips at 4pm as other open 5pm. Oil was change quite while ago. Many of them small chips, like last one taken from pot. Only 3 stars as was hungry if I didnt it could be 2.

Don't take cards! Food was good, but probably the grumpiest server I've ever met. If he smiled I reckon his cheeks would crack and fall off into the fryer. And so rude. But we didn't call in for the customer service - the food was great. Really good chips.

Had the most limp greasy fish and chips ever! Two bites in and had to back off. I have tried several times to remove the oil from my fingers (did not have a fork) and it just wont go. I am worried the gun oil has saturated my very core. Do I call out a priest for this kind of issue?
