Disgusting customer service. No delivery of order. No call from driver to say would not be delivering order due to a puncture. Have they not signed up to the AA ( or equivalent)? Waited for 20 mins on hold to speak to customer services to find out what was going on. First operator was incredibly unhelpful and frankly obnoxious. He offered me a delivery slot 25hrs later which did not suit me as I was not in. If you cannot stick to your side of the contract you should be offering a slot that suits the customer not you. Why can't you add the shop to the next van in the area? I got some poor excuse about the van being overweight. What nonsense, are you seriously telling me that a couple of bags of shopping puts a van over a specific weight. How did the operator know how much my bags weigh? I needed these products for a specific purpose and it was not a general food shop. As a service you should be busting a gut to get the food to the customer who are depending on the service. This obnoxious individual refused to put my complaint through to a manager as this wasn't part of their procedure. Again, seriously? The whole attitude was "like or lump it." He then put the phone down on me when I cricitised their service to customers throughout the whole Covid pandemic which frankly has also been disgusting. I really wasn't having this so called back to operator no 2. Again waited over 20 mins to speak to operator no 2. I got as far as giving my name and stating I wanted to speak to a manager. She put the phone down on me. Call operator no 3 took 35 mins to pick up the phone. She told me a manager would call me back within 24-48 hours. No call back was made. I left it 4 days and rang again. I was told a manager would call me back within 24-48 hours. Guess what 3 days later still no call back. I will never shop at Sainsburys again. You aren't cheap and your customer service is non existent and an absolute disgrace.

Beyond a joke now! I visit Sainsbury’s Chichester almost five days a week for breakfast. But I have got to the point now that enough is enough. It’s not because of the staff who are friendly and helpful but because it is now coming up four weeks since they have been able to serve anything other than filter coffee and on some days even that’s not been possible or rationed. How is it in a world of convenience and next day deliveries that they can’t get a working coffee grinder. A morning Latte is something I’ve always looked forward too but not if you go to Sainsbury’s Chichester. My heart goes out to the staff who spend most the day apologising for shoddy management of the situation.

I recently went to Sainsbury’s cafe again as I do every week........This store has been without a coffee machine for a month...It is disgraceful . I was told when I complained that it wasn’t the coffee machine itself....it was the coffee grinder.......I did suggest that they got some ground coffee from the shop floor so we could at least have a decency cup of coffee.....but no can’t do that...unable to process the cost through the till.....so eventually all they could do was offer hot chocolate or tea. I feel for a store of this size it is really bad....they must be losing a huge amount of money.....apart from damaging their reputation.......Imoff there again tomorrow as they said it MIGHT be repaired...... I know some people will say.....well don’t go there.....but I do my weekly shop there....I don’t want to change stores.....

Long queue, insufficient staff on 3rd January, and terrible service. Had a hot chocolate that would have qualified as hot milk. Tables not being cleaned. In fact a shambles. The toilets were not flushing properly and could have been cleaner.

Asked for four different meals, I was told sorry out of stock on all of them? This is surprising considering the cafe is in a large supermarket! Food is average which is handy for quick stop whilst shopping. Need better range of deserts, very minimal choice.

D’you know what? I called in to replenish my fridge after a long drive back from a break in West Country. During my holiday I ate at some ‘reputable’ and highly reviewed pricey places and I have to say that the best meal out I had in the whole week was my piping hot quiche with salad and new potatoes for a fiver in Sainsbury’s. The staff at the Chichester branch are so lovely and welcoming and helpful and the food tasted really nice. Thanks Sainsbury’s!

Outstanding and friendly support from Customer Services desk who arranged the loan of a wheelchair to get my wife from the blue badge parking area into the store. Clear instruction given to reach pharmacy for medications and to Specsavers for support on a hearing aid. We decided to have lunch in restaurant/cafe that is of modern, bright and comfortable design. The restaurant staff were unable to fulfill our requested order. The person in charge stated that the menu board was new and management had yet to supply the food to match that on offer! We thought the alternatives offered were much more expensive for a meal for two (over £17) when other local supermarkets and McDonalds are offering more competitive prices. Garden centres are making special lunchtime offers (some with pensioner discount). We asked to speak to a Manager about this but were told the Manager was not available. The Customer Service desk understood and took up our complaint confirming that the issues would be referred to management. An immediate goodwill gesture was made and this was most appreciated. Other reviews mention slow service and tardiness in clearing tables or overlowing racks where customers are requested to place their trays after finishing their meal. To some extent this was true on our visit and should be addressed. Sainsbury's deserve a five star review here for their friendliness and exceptional support for those in wheelchairs

Went in early (around 08:15am) & there was only 1 Lady at the counter doing the cash & making the Hot drinks (this always alarms me as if there’s a rush they simply can’t cope! ) but there were few customers so this was not a problem. We had Omelette (add tomatoes & mushrooms) £4. It came with 2 small hash browns & baked beans. It was really nice. Everything hot. Two Pots of tea £1.30ea (Nice & strong when you have a pot to brew it in) Plain Croissant £1.30 (very nice) Two Floras 15p ea (always think this is bit of a cheek, but bear with....) Jam Pot (sadly no strawberry just apricot...yuk..so had Marmalade) 50p. There was around 10 minutes to wait. Perfectly normal. So! Total £8.70 Two (well, ok 1.5) breakfasts for under a Tenner. No complaints Oh as we walked off there was no one waiting & just 3 people in there so I can understand (a bit) why they seem to have just 1 staff up front but maybe the key thing is ....get there early!

Sainsbury’s Cafe is really awful at the moment. Never enough staff on duty. When there is they are not properly trained. The tables are often left full of dirty china and cutlery. Some of the older staff are very good but always chasing their tails. Last week I had to wait 35 minutes for a very simple meal and a coffee. The staff were very apologetic. However if you were in a bit of a rush to be somewhere, you would be likely to be late. When I was there there was a long line of customers waiting and only two staff serving and at 1.30 pm one of these staff just down-tooled and went on his break.....nobody was there to take his place. I just feel this person should have seen the problem and helped out until the customers in the queue had been served. Whilst waiting for my simple order two customers asked for their money back as they had been waiting twenty five minutes for their order. Surely they should have a bank system to ensure that there is always sufficient staff on. Needless to say it seems to be down to management to provide adequate staffing levels in order to keep the tables clear and clean. On some occasions the manager has had t roll up his sleeves and help out. I would have thought it was his job to delegate.....but with no staff to delegate there lies the problem. Come on Sainsbury’s .....Pay the people a decent wage and you will likely get a good set of staff. I shall watch with interest how the next few weeks pan out...

I was picking up my car from a garage in Kirdford. to think my wife are bringing Me across I decided to stop at the half-moon pub to treat her to lunch as we approach the pub the front door appeared locked however there was no times of opening or closing or no menus we walked around the side to find people inside as we arrived towards the rear of the pub we presented with a beautiful garden and I noticed a rear patio door I opened the patio door and a man said what do you want? I said are you open? His reply was the front door is locked. What does that tell you. I found this to be extremely rude considering they are supposed to be serving the publicyoung lady came up to us and told us sorry sir we’re not opening until midday at this time. It was 1146 whilst the pub was closed. The man’s rudeness has made me realise I never need to visit this pub again. I’m not sure if he’s the owner of the worker chef or just someone in there, but I found his rudeness to be completely and utterly unacceptable on this occasion.
