One of my favourite restaurants in the area if not the favourite. Everything I tried over the many visits never fails to impress. The oyster is great in particular. Wonderful staff and vibe. Family friendly.
We went to the Oyster Bed for Mother’s Day and I took my friend a few weeks ago on a Saturday lunch time. Both times the food was amazing. It was hot fresh and very tasty. We had the set meal on Mother’s Day and it was very tasty. Rubi was our waitress and she was very professional and helpful. She even popped back to the table to explain about the Yorkshire pudding as our friend is a vegetarian. When I brought my friend for lunch we had Will as our waiter. Again he was very professional and helpful. My friend wanted a change to her dessert and he spoke to the chef and nothing was a problem. We will definitely be returning soon. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience. I’m so pleased the Oyster Bed is back to its glory. We stopped going for a long time as it was terrible in there. The food the waiting time, it was awful. But now it is better than before. Well done xxx
Worst pizza ever had. Hardly any toppings, just dough, bit of tomato sauce and 8 pieces of salami. Shocking for £19. Cocktails, couldn't taste the alcohol. Lovely wairing staff though.
Lovely staff, great selection of beers and, brave statement I known, but, the very best dinner kebab I have ever had. And I’ve had a lot. Lamb not beef like 90% use these days, no grease great bread perfect salad. Brilliant pub. Love it five star
After a long and tiring day in Canterbury, we checked into The Thomas Ingoldsby JD Wetherspoon Hotel, hoping for a good experience as it was our first time booking with JD Wetherspoon. Thankfully, the room exceeded our expectations.
It was spacious, cozy, and had all the necessary facilities, especially in the bathroom, which was well-equipped and clean. Although there was no room service, everything else made up for it.
Our stay was comfortable and relaxing. We truly enjoyed it and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Canterbury. A solid 100% recommendation from us!
Absolutely appalling behaviour – RACISM and ASSAULT by a member of staff.I had a shocking experience at The Cuban in Canterbury that I feel needs to be shared. My friend and I were standing near the windowsill inside with our handbags next to us when a tall African bouncer approached us aggressively. He began waving his finger in our faces and acted confrontational without any clear explanation—apparently just because our bags were resting on the windowsill. What made this worse was that he targeted my friend, who is Black Caribbean, with clear and disturbing racial bias. It was painfully obvious that this man—despite being Black himself—was prejudiced and aggressive toward us, especially her.
My daughter ordered online today but the wrong food was delivered to her and also the millionaire shortbread she ordered was missing!!! I would like a refund for the food and missing item she paid for please.
Perfect for Mothering Sunday. We all had whitebait, roast sirloin and apple and pear crumble. Everything home cooked perfectly, they even made thier own tartare sauce. The Landlady and her staff demonstated perfect hospitality and service. They were just delightful. Lovely atmosphere with no shouty people. The village is exquisite with a beautiful river running through it. Quiet and tranquil.
My food never arrived. I waited well past the expected delivery time, and there was no update or contact from the restaurant or driver. Extremely disappointed.
