Efes Kebab And Pizza House in Canterbury

All I had was cheesy chips and within hours I was being rushed to hosp with sepsis (nearly ended up in intensive care) all because they don’t know how to wash there hands after handling RAW MEAT!! So thanks for that guys 😠🙃 and secondly it would be nice to not receive dirty looks on entering the shop and waiting for food!

Meat is fantastic, however please stop frying cold chips which have already been fried - taste is horrible. £6 down the drain!!

This kebab house gone to pot , ordered food tonight , the order arrived nearly 2 hours after we ordered , on arrival the 2 shish kebabs were Stone cold , not good enough at all ! Will not order again from this business !

Ordered food for collection so I was very shocked when got home to find stone cold chips thay were that cold the cheese hadn't even malted burger was like rubber 😳 and you ring up to complain and you get abuse down the phone

Horrible food and idiotic and ignorant staff. Food is not up to any UK standard. Oil not been changed for ages as the fries smell bad and doner was very bad in taste. Should avoid if you don’t want to get diarrhoea or food poisoning. Don’t know how they pass any inspection as cleanness, food nothing up to any standard.

Maybe when you have boxing days hours your actually open in those hours, I just ordered food and now money has left my account pending for you guys not to even be open. Absolutely useless

If I could put 0 stars I would. This is why. I usually order from here for my dad as he loves this kebab. Although this morning at 1am I ordered it for him as he was hungry and no shops are open. Comes to 3:07am and says "enjoy ur food" I'm confused as no food arrived. I look outside the doors, check my phone number list.. nothing.. so I called them baring in mind this place shuts at 3am.. called them 5 times.. no reply so understandable. I call them again today at 2;30pm in the afternoon, I had to argue with them for 10 minutes just to get a reorder of what i ordered in the morning. I told them the time I wanted and they kept saying tomorrow, tomorrow, we will give it to u tomorrow although they asked what time I wanted today! Originally I asked for a refund but that was denied and only said they can make a reorder. Then when it did finally arrive it was an hour late then the time I requested and the time they accepted. And it was freezing cold. Wondering what they've done to the order and just discusting behavior from a professional company!! I tried being calm and nice to them but straight away shouting at me down the phone. Moral of the story is, I will not be ordering from this place again. I understand it was one misunderstanding but the way I was treated as a customer and for someone not receiving an order is disgraceful.

Best kebab in Kent! some proper hard working fellas, chicken kebab salad and garlic sauce is 10/10. Same with portions. wouldn’t go anywhere else!

Great Pleasant staff who truly care about the food and service they provide and the portions are very fair and my favourite is the doner which is tender and thinly cut. The extras, onion rings, nuggets and three different flavoured wings are out of this world. Deffo give it a try

I had tried Efes previously a couple of times and the food was ok but that was a while ago, it was fine. The problem is the lack of consistency, this time I had the same meal, a mixed kebab and it tasted really poor. Don’t know whether it was the cooking or the meat but I had to leave it after a couple of mouthfuls. I don’t expect the food to be identical all the time but this was way off the mark. It’s a shame as now I won’t try it again as the quality of the food is so up and down.

Great service all round it was my fourth visit and received amazing food every time. Would Recommend. 👍

The food was nothing but burnt and while spending £72 on my order I was highly disappointed with the service as when called in to discuss the matter with them they were very aggressive and did not seem to listen.

All the food was burnt and when called they were highly rude and refused to give a refund after wast half an hour on the phone and sending photos to them.

Best kebab shop in the area. Couldn't fault it for years! Must be a reason :)

Efes.. The name you think of when the words: Kebab Quality and Quick , come to mind. I’ve ordered from here plenty of times, delivery and collection and I’ve never encountered any issues of any kind. It was about time that I made a review since they’ve been consistent for many years now!

Delicious food but their service became really slow lately, more than an hour and a half of waiting!

Used Efes lots of times but tonight was the first bad experience considering the man behind the counter was rude actually put me off of having efes again

Ordered lamb meat and chips and the meat smells + tasted off, would not recommend eating meat from here. Chips were okay and the service was good and fast.

Good takeaway food. Excellent portions and service. Tastes as nice as you would get in an expensive Turkish restaurant. Staff are friendly. I had Mix shish and chips! Lovely chillie sauce!

Sadly my first experience was opening the kebab and seeing the tiny amount presented for £8.90! I appreciate lamb is more expensive but this was honestly ridiculous. Perhaps it was my fault for expecting something bigger but I don't think the portion size reflected the costs. I won't be ordering this particular kebab again. The picture doesn't quite show how small it was but there was maybe 5 small pieces of lamb, the sauce made up 50% of the filling. Having said that, it was tasty and the chilli sauce is really good but I wouldn't pay £8.90 for it again. Overpriced for what it was, spoilt the dinner. The wrap however was the opposite very generous portion and extremely filling, sadly I didn't take a picture of that. That was absolutely worth £8.50 and my wife couldn't finish it luckily I was absolutely starving from my tiny portion so it worked out ok. Overall, food is nice but don't get lamb if your hungry.

The best kebab I've ever had. Big chunks of beautifully seasoned chicken. Lovely fresh salad. Really good garlic sauce. Quick and friendly delivery. Highly recommended and will definitely be using again. X

Today 03/10/22 collected a chicken donna kebab for my wife who asked for a large and paid for a large kebab but got a small one rattling around in the large box. We hope this is just a one off or are they shorting everyone from now on? It's definitely not value for money in our opinion but will try again soon to see if this is the new trend. I wanted a nice Shish kebab and didn’t know where to go. Tried Efes in Canterbury for the first time. Was super busy. Made a big mistake. Ordered a medium one for me. And my four year old ate more than me and (literally) gave a BIG thumbs up! The meat was beautifully moist and tender, home made garlic sauce, separate salad and so fresh and delicious! Was superb. I am very impressed! Will certainly be coming back 🥰👏😁🤗🥰😁

First time using this kebab shop and it was great food arrived hot and had taste and was plenty of meat in both salad was fresh and crisp and nicely presented plenty of sauce on the meat as well will definitely be ordering again hopefully it wasn’t a one off and that it’s consistently good !!

Dreadful experience tonight. Not sure what the food is like as it didn't arrive. We called twice, each time they told us it would be 10-15 mins. We've been waiting for two hours. I ordered with them because it had the best reviews - I reckon they've been getting their mates to leave the good ones! If it was a weekend I'd understand the delay, but on a Tuesday? Not good enough. I will definitely not be ordering from here again. To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement. Lying time wasters!!!

Went in to order a takeaway and was charged too much. When i pointed out the price on their board they still wanted the higher amount. Customer service and adhering to trading standards on pricing is all wrong. If they don't care about that then what other rules do they break? I'm definitely crossing the road to the other take away where I'll feel a bit more care is taken.

Order 3 kebabs which took over hour n half when they turned up it was the worst ive probly had, ordered all with salad and instead we had plain with a tiny plastic container of salad we had to share, when i phoned up got a mouthful off the "manager" would never use again, used to be my go to....shame

Food was nice, until it come to the next day where me and my partner has been non stop throwing up and been very unwell. Never had any issues before, maybe just a hit and miss at efes.

Just got home with the food I ordered and it's very much not what I paid for. Ordered a lamb doner, and chicken shish mix. Just doner. Alright if you just want something to fill a gap, complete joke otherwise. I see they did exactly the same thing to a woman called Chantelle below. Fraud, avoid.

I had passed by this take-away on my way to the gym for a year and didn't try it until recently. Lamb Shish, chicken Döner, and salad were tasty. Hummus and halloumi were also good. Highly recommended.

Stayed in Canterbury for the night and fancied a kebab, ordered a chicken kebab, only to find out they gave me doner which I can not eat at all, ended up all going in the bin and waste of £7 won’t be going back

Give it a miss! My efes grill turned up 30 mins late, looking like a victim of a hit and run. Delivery driver was a plus to be fair. Sorry its late, have a good eve... etc i wrote a review a few years ago about the raj mahal in Canterbury, I owe them an apology. I told the owner personally before my review,9 I wouldn't taste or see anything that bad again in my life, Tonight I was wrong. Weve ordered from here fairly regularly for a while recently, safe to say that's stopped.

Great kebab. We are regulars. It's our go too kebab in Canterbury and the prices are good value too. Also, today's order came just 12 minutes after ordering so we are extremely happy with the service.

I've ordered takeaways from here a few times and I thought I best leave a review. The food has been excellent. I've only ordered chicken and lamb shish, but the meat has always been great. The last time I ordered, delivery was going to take a while, so I collected it instead. And they were extremely busy, explaining the long delivery time, so I guess their reputation is good. It is one of the main places where I will be ordering my takeaways from now on.

Love the service in general always great staff. But tonight’s was a disappointment 1 hour twenty minutes for my delivery ended up paying cash a driver had no card machine and by now my food was cold no point phoning back as I didn’t want to wait any longer for replacement . Hopefully a one off general is a fantastic service.

I ordered some wings and chips because a friend recommended them. It took 1h 50min and a phone call for the food to arrive. Now, this is unacceptable considering the fact that I live a five-minute drive away. When it did arrive, the wings were lukewarm and the chips were so cold and soggy that, as hungry as I was, I couldn't eat them. Deeply regret wasting my time and money.

Asked for a shish without peppers. Saw the guy putting the peppers in through the window and went in and told them I asked for one without peppers as I cant stand the taste. Took out some of them but not all and said "sorry" and now I am left eating they're "sorry" with peppers. Went to the bin.

Great tasting kebabs. Last visit they accidentally put chilli sauce on my chicken shish but the meat was still great after a quick rinse.

We regularly order a large chicken shish with garlic sauce, salad, and chips with salt and vinegar. As takeaways go, it’s reasonably healthy, very filling and absolutely delicious. It’s plenty for two hungry people.

Awful. Kebab was cold and rubbery. Chips were greasy and cold. Partners burger was meant to be a cheese burger. One tiny slab of cheese and yes... cold. Will not be returning. Only reason we tried it was because our normal one was closed

I only have good things to say about this place, starting from the high quality of food and presentation to the good customer service. Keep it up! Definitely recommend to those who haven't been here yet!
