The customer service wasn't great. I never returned ever.. i live near by too.. i asked about the rice and if they did plain rice the man did not speak kindly about my questions?

⚠️ ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE ⚠️ 🛑 AVOID AT ALL COSTS 🛑 Most of the staff are complete 🔔s Don’t cook the chicken properly, put the food all in one box and not put sauces separate, looked like a dogs dinner. Cold stake chips, burnt pitta and dried out old salad. Absolutely awful and highly recommend going elsewhere!!!!!!!!!

Without a doubt one of the very best lamb shish wraps I've ever eaten, tender meat and wonderful flavours. I wanted to go back and buy it again. [Edited to add] I've had three more wraps now as well as a full-on lamb shish kebab and they've been every bit as good. In a shish-off between these guys and Castle Street Kebab, I gotta say it could go either way. Both are superb. Go. Eat. Feel the dopamine.

Situated in the hearts of Canterbury, this is a wonderful restaurant for anyone especially looking for halal meat. Lots of options to choose from with kebabs, wraps, meat, burgers as well as the traditional Middle Eastern sweet dishes. Lovely place to dine in, takeway or just to stand and enjoy with friends just outside the restaurant. A tad expensive but quality food with amazing taste. I would like to drop by whenever i will be in Canterbury city center.

I ordered large chicken doner last night and I got a cold lamb doner. Sorry but I won't be ordering anymore from this shop

Food so salty / lamb meet not sure but my Jack Russel refused to eat it 🫣 - uneatable - all ended up in the bin - pity waited an hour and spent £23 - not impressed at all

Just ate honestly the worst piece of fried chicken I've ever been served in my life. Wow that was bad. Slimy and disgusting. I was luckily able to warn a few people before they went in. Seriously bad chicken and overpriced

The guys were so rude. They ripped off a drink woman in from off my eyes and many others. They also insulted us when we stuck up for her. Food was missing what we paid for and found hair in the food can provide pictures as proof

Absolutely disgusting! The meat was like cardboard it was inedible! £40 down the drain! I literally threw it in the bin wouldn’t feed it to my dog! The cook as I wouldn’t call him a chef should be ashamed of himself!

Went here as recommended by a family member for a nice kebab. Staff were very friendly. I ate a chicken shish kebab with salad, it was really nice but later I had diarrhea. Meat was hot so it could have been the salad. Not sure if I should go back 🤔

Very rude guy. I asked him a suggestion about what to eat in their menu, since it is large enough to doubt what to eat. He responded me in a very rude way...... Not even interested to get into the details of his answer. Not coming nor recommend anyone to eat at that place. There are a bunch of other places in Canterbury with great service and much better food.

Went to Ocakbasi to get a nice kebab, travelling out of my way to go there. Was told that a mixed kebab with kofta would be plus £20 which was ridiculous, the guy who I think is the owner suggested that I go to McDonalds, which i did. Don’t waste your time with this place. I will never go there again. Really bad service, arrogant and disrespectful. Go spend your money on people who deserve it.

Awful experience. After a fun new years eve night with my friends we decided to end the night with a kebab..should have just gone straight home. After being shouted & sworn at by one of the employees here because I didn't hear him call my order the first time (I very quickly realised & apologised that I hadn't heard him straight away), I was left feeling very embarrassed & humiliated infront of a shop full of people. And to top it all off the food was almost as bad as the service. I don't think I've ever wanted to warn people off of a place more. After getting home & reading the rest of the reviews of this place..I'm not surprised we had this experience.

If I could give this place no stars then I would. The most horrendous service I've ever experienced. I was spoken to in such an awful way just because I didn't hear him call my order (it was packed with people). So so disappointed in this place.

Bought a chicken donor wrap and found out the tortilla was not cooked properly and the wrap tasted extremely salty. Never coming back.

Order food at 12.10 am its now 2am. Paid with card over phone no food turned up and phoned loads and loads . Ignoring phone .so took money for order and ignoring calls so be carefully people as will take your money and then not deliver . If anything make sure u pay cash . As least then when don't turn up u still got your money

Salty pizza s wrong order I ordered cheese burger meal got a burger nothing in it and garlic sauce which I didn't order in the first place. Next was a mixed donner with chips got it wrong again no mixed donner on it only lamb very disappointed 😒 my son spent 60 quid on this meal alot of money 😢

Walked into a empty shop at 1pm and paid 8.60 for a handful of chips and small amount of lamb donor. Portion was enough for a small child, the meat was cold. And if I did not have work to do I would have took it back for a refund.

too overpriced. 22 pounds order came with small portion only , and shouldnt salad be separated? i ordered so many kebas with chips before on other store, they offer way bigger package and always separate the salad, yet here they mix everything together and put it in the same small box. 9.99 for each box this small is a joke. im very disappointed sorry

One of canterbury's better kebab shops. Biggest let down is the inconsistency on portion sizes. Sometimes you'll order a large and not get what you pay for.

Went in to the takeaway about 12.20 during the day the guy running it said can you come back in five minutes as he could see I wanted lamb Donner it wasn't cooked properly so said no problem came back he sliced it fresh of the wheel it was lovely meat he gave me a large box of meat and salad uploaded a photo of the lamb Donner got loads of meat 👍

I ordered food, they didn’t deliver claiming they had given it to someone, even though I was standing outside alone. When calling them they word for word said “suck my d**k” and hung up. Respond to owner: I have video proof of you screaming at my boyfriend over the phone when he was casually and politely asking where the order is, calling him a liar, insulting him and then hanging up. Never had such poor service.

I spoke to the owner this evening regarding a large order I had to make, due to my son having food allergies, I find it hard for some takeaways to give you the genuine time to make sure the food is prepared and the information regarding allergies is taken seriously, these guys smashed it!!!! The food was amazing!!! I would highly recommend the mix shish. I will definitely being using these guys again. Thank you Ocakbasi.

If we're in Canterbury, then always visit this Ocakbasi Kebab ordering chicken wraps.I'm a very picky client.But these guys are doing well! Very tasty, much meat and vegetables! Fresh vegetables, excellent cooked meat and not that too much salty.Service is always on high level,fast even if they are busy.Also I paid attention on hygiene, very good!

Food order wrong, I contacted the restaurant as they had sent a doner kebab with no pitta bread, I was met with rudeness and arrogance, the staff told me they had do the order correctly t when they hadn't! They stated I was in the wrong as a kebab does not come with pitta bread! I was refused any compensation, they laughed at me down the phone and refused to correct my order, I have now contacted my bank and asked for a refund from visa. Disgusting service, disrespectfull staff, low standard of food . I will never use or recommend this restaurant again!

Ordered a mixed doner, chips and a burger all very nice!!! Ordered at 10 PM and was delivered within 25 minutes. The doner meat would have been even better if it was grilled after being cut. Very good service.

If you're going to eat a Doner Kebab, go here. The food is fresh as it has a high turnover so it's cooked. Just don't engage with the staff about their political beliefs (ranging from COVID vaccinations to what this means about other thinking).

So disappointing, go to munchies instead, it’s a 2 min walk at most

I do not know about delivery, but twice now we've had doners from them, the waiting time was entirely reasonable (5 to 10 minutes), and the doners were absolutely superb - among the best I've had in my life.

I entered okabasi kebab shop bearing a can of guiness in my palm, the meat carving gentleman behind the bar informed me that this was forbidden And this shattered my hopes and poked fun at my dreams "Sorry boss" were the words that uttered from his lips and I accepted his apology He them proceeded to gift me with one of his finest lamb and chicken mixed doner wraps. And this filled my heart with glee Perfect blend of garlic and chilli sauce with just the right spice, carefully hand crafted with a gentle sprinkle of salad and complimentary pickled green chilli Long live okabasi kebab shop

Got different things to what i ordered, waited an hour for delivery, and driver had no change.

Food not delivered…..over 2 hour wait for what they claimed would be 30 mins.

The same problem whit me , wait an hour for delivery and finally things where not to order, everything was old and disgusting , I was charged for things I didn't order, I was also charged for all kinds of salads and there was nothing, only onions.I would not repeat again I do not recommend it.

A quieter night, so my food did take a while to cook. Ordered small chips and was charged for and received large chips. Bit disappointing, however they tasted great and there was lots of cheese. Venue does smell deep fried, so suggest waiting outside whilst queuing.

I went with my guest for a business lunch to this restaurant. We entered the restaurant and we didn't even talk yet, we were looking for what we want to eat first, the person who were on the till had a frowning face, like he's feeling disgusted, he was looking at us in that way (like he's disgusted) although we were very friendly with the staff. We were asking if they can offer extra bread and he was like (No. No extra bread) and the same bad treatment all the time while we are ordering and eating and even when we are leaving. We had some leftover food and we wanted them takeaway, because they are gonna throw it in the bin, and that is bad. We took the food to them and asked them if they can wrap it. He gave us the cover and told us to cover it by ourselves. When we finished, we put all the rubbish in the bin, except for two tissues were on the table, I forgot them. That disgusted staff member, said "excuse me, clean your table please" He was treating us like we are eating for free. I have a lot more of bad things to say about this restaurant, but I will stop here because my review is already 1000 characters. The food was OK, not bad, but the staff and the customer service is the poorest and worse customer service I've ever received in my life as whole. Do not go to this restaurant or you gonna ruin your mood for the rest of the day.

Got the order wrong, then had the nerve to say I had ordered it wrong. If they were listening when I made the order instead of talking Turkish between each other, very intimidating and rude they would have heard the correct order. Will never, ever use them again.

I don’t know much about their kebabs but their cheesy chips were cheap and very yummy at the end of a night out!! Not a long wait time and the staff were v nice and gave me extra Mayo for free

Didn’t even get as far as eating as there were cockroaches on the floor and around the bin!! Absolutely disgusting. The bin is attached to the counter area so to see them so close to where food is served is terrifying. Been online and can’t find a hygiene rating anywhere, there wasn’t one from what we could see outside either. Won’t be going back ever again, which is a shame because we enjoyed it when we first went a few years ago.

Having been recommended Ockabasi by a friend I decided to try them. Biggest mistake of my life. I ordered a chicken doner and chips, a BBQ Pizza, cheesy garlic bread, and 8 chicken nuggets. To my dismay my doner meat was covered in grease - forgivable but not pleasant. My pizza was missing 2 ingredients - the pepperoni and the bacon. But on the plus, there was an extra ingredient.. A HAIR!! When we phoned up to complain we were greeted by a hostile employee who proceeded to accuse us of lying, patronise my partner by calling her "my darlin'", "hun", and straight up insulting her "sarcastic bitch" and an "outright liar". They proceeded to tell us to shuttup, stop lying, and never call back. They then hung up the phone leaving us with disgusting food, and an even worse taste in our mouths from the APPALLING customer service.

If visiting Canterbury this kebab shop is at the Westgate , worth finding it good value for money its clean too

Went to get a takeaway for a night off cooking. The food was well cooked and very fresh. The burgers are amazing, they taste great and really filled us up. The chicken doner was really tasty and succulent. The pizzas are outstanding, just the right amount of toppings and cooked to perfection. The people in there were really friendly and it was service with a smile. Will definitely be coming back again.
