New City Kebab in Canterbury

This Kebab shop has been ok in the past but be aware, it has been known to serve off food! I don't know if it's a staff or management change but the last meal I ordered, a Chicken Doner wrap, had either been left on the side or been around the houses. The Kebab made me physically sick and smelt strange! The food and delivery was once great but not now. Never again will I eat from here. Others have mentioned this too.

Kebab wrap, absolutely ruined my guts, it's in the bin and smells off. Not ok.

Ordered the lamb shish and received 6 very small chunks of tough lamb, the chicken doner was very bland and the pitta bread was hard. Chilli sauce had no flavour just heat salad was fresh and garlic sauce very good but would not recommend ordering from here

I don't understand what's with all the bad reviews and personally I love the place. Shop has been there for years and they get to know the locals orders wihpit asking. I don't eat out at many plaves but I know we can trust the food being cooked properly/fresh salad and bread! As not all shops do the same unfortunately. Currently writing this review and have convinced myself to buy myself some dinner from here tonight! Haha Guys who run the shop are plesant and the shop is always clean/orderly.

Tasty kebab but it arrived late and cold. Not the restaurant's fault as it was a just eat driver delivering.

Tasty kebabs and service that goes the extra mile. My friend and I came in after seeing a show at about 11.30pm last Thur. We were bothered by a drunk who came in to try and talk to us and proceeded to look in the window where we were looking. Staff were fantastic Nd not only closed the shutters so we didn't have to deal with it while we waited but also saw us to the crossing to ensure we were not bothered when we left. Definitely my new chosen "local"

Tasty as always but a little disappointed that the meat was cold by the time it got here. I think maybe the salad should be separate as it makes the meat cold. Otherwise great food.

Really disappointed today. I ordered a small Lamb Shish and when it arrived ( Cold ) it was really small!! dry old meat. I have ordered from countless Kebab shops in the past and New City Kebab became my new go to takeaway as they have been great. I have spent hundreds here but my food/service today was not worth what I paid. Of course they will carry on without my custom but its a poor show for a business as now I will be ordering from elsewhere.

Food is 10/10 and this place is my regular, only complaint I have is the portion sizes. Nearly £5 for chips which are very small.

Ordered on uber eats, an hour later hasn’t been delivered. Very rude man on the phone who then says he isn’t delivering and cancels our order. Wouldn’t recommend

Only flaws this place has I'd that they need to sell 2L bottle drinks and that they need to drain the oil of their chilli alot more, but it's incredibly good other than that. :)

Delicious as always, however I received Miranda strawberries instead of orange, and a fanta orange would of been a better substitute, but don't worry, it's all good. :)

Food not nice normally fine but terrible today

Usually food was nice and hot, this time was cold, chips like old, cold and hard. And chicken Donner very small, smaller than before. I got left overs,as after my order, they stock It out.

Chilli sauce and garlic sauce should be standard with a kebab and when you put chips in plastic instead of paper they sweat and go soggy. Delicious kebabs though!

Very good shish kebab & great salad 🥗 in a box, just the pitta bread was a bit under cooked so it was very soggy & it completely broke when eating with the meat but apart from that everything else was top quality & very tasty.

The order was fast, and food was still piping hot, fulfilling and tasty! Everything is there, and nothing is missing. Lahmacun was great proportion size, and the lamb donor was nice, I am very happy with my order! I will order again!

We've used New City Kebabs for years, no complaints about the food it's always been good, but after our recent experience we will not be using them any more. The delivery driver confessed to dropping our food, and we explained that we didn't want food that had been on the floor. So he decided that the best way to deliver it was by throwing it at us and swearing! We did not even get an apology from the takeaway. Fast food delivery!

The best thing about the kebab unlike other kebabs this one doesn't float in grease. Chips were average. Salad was ok. It's worth for its price.

If you are after an uber / Just eat order shop else where food arrived cold and soggy and when i rang them they are abusive shout at you even after being delivered 30 mins AFTER what i was told on uber £30 wasted wouldnt recook it or even collect their cold skanky food avoid at all measure. Also Highly rude too speak in your own language when you clearly speak english

Best kebab in London by far. Always order from here and food is always top quality and very good portions(large is actually large) On this occasion just eat messed up my order and the restaurant made it up to me which was amazing.

I eat here 2-3 times a week an every time there food is good I really enjoy it so I eat here a lot , they are also great when there is a problem they are more then happy to deal with it an make it right I do always tend to have the same a chicken / lamb shish chips an salad but I have never had problems with the food just the just eat drivers but new city kabab are great

Top tier kebab - seriously ignore all the 1 star reviews from the late night jobsworths. If you are here for the kebabs you ain’t giving anything but 5 star, ask for extra chilli and you won’t be disappointed. Also owners are great! If I’m ever in the vicinity I will be going here again!!

Sorts you well after a night out

The kabab itself was very good BUT they didnt put any sauces I asked for which really lets this kabab down and im not very happy about that. First time ordering here so my feelings are mixed if i would ever come back. Basic kabab good but messed up on the sauces hmmm not best 1st impression tbh.

Nothing too bad or too good. For me, the chic kebab was a bit bold, dry-ish, with no interesting taste or twist or any extra spices (salt and pepper) really basic just like supermarket food. Pitta bread is cheap quality same dry, salad is a box of shredded iceberg minimal tomato or red cabbage boring. Overall ok but nothing to say is like hmm that is nice or made me come back from time to time. Just another kebab shop from the thousand

Absolutely terrible, had a lamb Doner and lamb shish, must say it's the only disgusting kebab i ever had; dry lamb and some lettuce, 3 cucumber slices and red cabbage on a half soggy pitta; bland!! You guys don't really know what a kebab is. Wouldn't recommend at all!

Ordered our kebabs and asked for the meat to be well done, kebabs came and the meat was undercooked and looked anemic, chips were also undercooked and inedible. Food went straight in the bin. Won’t be ordering g from here again!

I made an order online, days ahead, and it didn't come. I rang them and they said there wasn't any order. These people are liars.

Our third home delivery and all have been time accurate. The food is exceptional, portions large, full of flavour and using the online ordering it is easy to build the kebab and sides that you want. Nothing at all to even moan about yet, may it just continue.

Food was hot and had flavour but the chips were not fresh and very tight on giving chilli and garlic sauce!!

Surprisingly, my large kerbab when it arrived was still comfortably warm enough to eat. The meat seemed plentiful and stuffed into the pitta bread. The salad was crispy enough and tasted fresh. The delivery guy didn’t press on the door bell either (something I’d requested so as not to wake the kids) but rang my mobile instead. I had to rate the restaurant in which to submit my review but I never entered the restaurant as my meal was delivered.

KEBAB NOT IN A WRAP! Food quality is good and tastes good however it doesn’t specify that kebabs are in a pita and then you have build it yourself. We just wanted a wrap so - when you want something and you don’t get, you’re just left with longing…

Thoroughly enjoyed. Loads of chicken, salad was totally fresh and served separate. Really delicious. We don't often get kebabs, but we'll definitely be back.

Once again a quality doner, decent portion, good salad and no way near as expensive as other dalston/Stoke Newington kebab shops. Superb

Ordered food said it would take between 25/40 minutes it arrived 1 hr and 10 minutes after I ordered the chips were soggy and the Donor kebab meat was horrible the best thing was the salad that was really nice, will not order from here again.

The food was lovely but for the money I spent the portion size was shocking. I don’t think I’ll be ordering that again from this restaurant. Such a shame as the food was spot on, I just didn’t get my moneys worth on this occasion!

Food was absolutely disgusting. The chips where almost brown and you just know they have been sitting there for to long. The burger bun was just like dough when it arrived with all the wrong toppings I ordered. I wish I could share pictures of how bad it was I had to put it in the bin!!

Beautiful food as always but missing a hummus from a previous order and was supposed to get 5 tomato sauces as I paid for 3 and 2 were supposed to come with the salads but we only got 3. Can’t believe we didn’t get the hummus we were owed. But lovely food and wonderful delivery driver
