What a lovely pub! First visit, won’t be the last, friendly, lovely calm welcoming atmosphere, they had a good choice of alcohol free drinks for me including 0% pink gin, we had a delicious Sunday roast and my son loved the burger. A new favourite!

Absolutely amazing place to eat with the loveliest staff, The most wonderful Father’s Day meal here today, the roast dinner has got to be one of, if not the best roast we’ve had. Portion sizes were generous, the creamiest tastiest cauliflower cheese, and the honeycomb cheesecake is something that will make us come back on its own! 5 stars from us- a happy (very full) family!

First time in the Duke of Cumberland and what a surprise, really lovely welcome, extra friendly staff, great atmosphere. and a really nice freshly cooked meal straight out of the kitchen.

We used the Duke of Cumberland for my Fathers Wake. Hattie and her staff couldn’t have been kinder and were professional throughout. We used the outdoor cabin and garden and it was perfect. We couldn’t have asked for more.

We had a one night stay as we were walking the north downs way and this pub is quite close to the path. We didn’t have an evening meal as the pub closes at 3.30pm on a Sunday. The room was small but adequate, no frills. The landlady was pleasant and engaging though clearly rushed. Breakfast was very nice, though little choice . There was a good sized garden with plenty of seating and brollies with a good children’s play area, lovely in the sunshine.

Just had a meal at The Duke , absolutely perfect in food and atmosphere, o and a good pint too, highly recommended, will try puddings next time , lovely Thankyou

The best pub iv ever been to. Everyone is so friendly and instantly felt at home. Food is amazing, beautiful vibes and beautiful people.

Decided to try the Duke of Cumberland, was made very welcome by the owner. We tried the Turkish food which was absolutely lovely. Will definitely return as food and service was excellent. Brian & Melanie

Excellent Sunday lunch. Attentive staff delicious food. Car parking available. Was full but not noisy. Good choice of beers and wine.

Booked for dinner via phone, amongst arriving we was notified there was a limited menu as father (head chef) was away, if we was notified at the time of ringing we probably wouldn’t of bothered and just waited until they had a full menu. When ordering the duke mixed special we was told there was no lamb Doner or lamb shish so we supplemented for extra chicken shish and extra chicken wings. We waited 80mins for our meal and the kind waitress gave us a complimentary drink to apologise. When the food arrived it had 2 extra chicken wings and no extra chicken shish, admittedly I should have mentioned this to the waitress but we had waited so long we wanted to just finish and go home. Over all the food was very tasty! But due to the lack of variety very disappointing. Would like to try again when the father is in the kitchen as we have heard good things, but won’t be rushing back for now.

Absolutely delicious beef roast lunch here with all vegetables included in the cost. Very reasonably priced. Helpful staff. Highly recommended.

I had a very disappointing meal of fish and chips. The fish seemed to be straight from the freezer the batter was flabby and the fish mushy and unappetising. Priced at £16.95 I expected better than this. The drinks were also over priced, £3.40 for the appropriately named Orchard Thieves! Not an experience I intend to repeat.

Had a lovely meal there last night, food was very good, all served hot and plentiful, so much so I had a takeaway box and had that for lunch today. Will be going back very soon. They also cater for events and this month we will be returning for a murder mystery evening. Such fun, with lovely hosts great food, oh' did I not mention the Ale. Proper Job and Harveys Best on the hand pumps and both well kept &, very good condition.

Booked the day before for Sunday Roast- specifically asked for this and whether we could bring the dog, we were told the kitchen closed at 3 so we were booked in for 2.30. When we arrived, there was no table for us in the pub part, the landlady said “you didn’t mention the dog when you booked”, and when I said we had she checked her booking and sat us separately in a small room as we couldn’t eat in the restaurant bit with the dog. They had ran out of roast. However, the food we did order was fantastic and if it was what we had wanted originally it would have been a perfect Sunday lunch,

Great village pub very warm atmosphere and welcome from landlady.Excellent food which the family and children all enjoyed.(11 of us in total) .Ice cream frig and sweets went down well Particularly with the kids.As a past licensee of 20years standing in Thanet I would highly recommend a visit to this pub.We shall be going back! again.

I came here on Sunday 22nd October with family for a roast. I have to say it was incredible. The vegetables were cooked to perfection, the roasties were delicious, the meat was beautifully tender and the Yorkshire puddings were home made and perfect. I am a chef of 40 years so I am very fussy. The food was hot and the atmosphere was perfect. The hostess is definitely the hostess with the mostess, accommodating, friendly and a breath of fresh air. The whole experience was fabulous. The pub itself is relaxing, friendly with a great ambience. The decor is suited to a country pub and adds the The rareness of such a unique country pub. Love the place and will be returning.

Just had an amazing meal here. Had the platter for 2 , it could have fed more but I made sure it was finished! My autistic son who is very food sensory had a custom burger just the way he likes it. Very happy , great value for money, very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble.

Worst Sunday roast ever : dried carrot and turnip, burnt Yorkshire pudding, undercooked stuffing, watery cauliflower with very poor cheese. Everything served just warm but not really hot. The meats were good but we were very disappointed. Not mentioning the blue paint on the walls and ceilings … decoration has gone as wrong as the cooking. Duke of Cumberland is not at all what it used to be.

6 of us were looking for something different and this place definitely fits the bill. Turkish landlord so the menu was not your standard pub food. That said the mixed kebab was absolutely amazing and loads of it. Lovely landlady and locals. My only gripe is we got kicked out before our cab arrived only by a few minutes, good job it wasn't raining 😂

Booked a table for roast lunch. Roast was not very good. 2 tiny roast potatoes each which we all thought was disappointing. The rest was average. Puddings were nice but pricey at about £8.50. Service was fair and the pub was quite busy. Other food options available if you don’t fancy a roast. Not much for vegans but possibly the nut roast. Roast mains £15.75 per head and about 4 choices of starter at around £7.50 each.

Thank you for making us so welcome (again). Our daughter insists on celebrating her birthdays here. We love the food and the friendly atmosphere. Table of 6 well looked after, our children love the hummus and delicious bread (it's a large portion for a starter so perfect to share). Same for the whitebait and the butterflied prawns. The moussaka was perfect as was the burger. Youngest found the chicken shish a bit spicy but his palate is evolving! Couldn't leave without enjoying some Biscoff cheesecake, sticky toffee pudding and hot waffles. Yum! See you soon.

Busy spot and short staffed. Good good but the wine particularly the merlot was watery and tasteless.

We visited with friends when the beer festival was on and had a great time. As you walk through the pub to go outside a courtyard opens up to a covered outdoor area and gardens with nice seating areas. There were several outdoor sections including a play area for children so although it was busy it didn’t feel crowded. The drinks selections were good and we tried a few ales between us. There was a bouncy castle and blue ice cream that was perfect for the youngest of our group and a good time was had by all. If we lived closer we would regularly go there for a relaxed afternoon. I had a query and had a very nice chat with the owner who was friendly and welcoming. Lovely place, well worth a visit.

Had a lovely time at the pub today, for the BBQ and live band. So nice to go to a family friendly pub. Run by a lovely family who take pride in their work. Food was outstanding and the staff are very accommodating. Can not reccommend this place highly enough. If you are in the area be sure to give this place a visit. Visited today and was really disappointed covid 19 measures were completely breeched by an extremely large party of customers all who were so loud no others could hear anything but the bar stuff ensured they were filled with lots of shots tho???? Even though the rule of 6 was definitely not stuck to at all let alone social distancing...We waited a long time for food which was satisfactory and sadly over priced. The child's portion was awful so basic and £3 for a melted half scoop of ice cream for the kids... really disappointed first meal out in over a year and this was awful!!

If you have kids, this is the best pub that we have been to in Kent! We were greeted with warm hospitality from the initial enquiry to jumping in the cab at the end of the day. The landlady went out of her way to book space for us and our friends kids right next to the awesome and safe playground, whilst also reserving us tables in the covered area, in case it rained. The food was great, they served lovely ales and the staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. They did all of this whilst following Covid guidelines to a T. As an aside the scenery was beautiful!What this pub has managed to do within the current guidelines is astounding, we will be back as soon as we possible can! Thanks for a great day! Ed

The plan was to stop for a quick pint, book a table for lunch at 3pm and return after a circular walk a few hours later but unless you have the latest tech forget it. We weren’t allowed in the pub, had to download an app to order, couldn’t get a signal to use the app and when we asked to use a friendly customer’s iPhone 12 found that we couldn’t order a larger top which isn’t on the list or talk to anyone about booking a table. Don’t waste your time here, there are plenty of other places that will still talk to you.

Acabo de pasar 2 noches en el pub, habitación muy cómoda y hogareña. El personal y los propietarios son muy amables y acogedores. Buena comida de pub, desayuno abundante y excelente servicio. Nada fue un problema durante nuestra estancia.Ah, y para aquellos que estén preocupados, el lugar era muy seguro de Covid: el uso de máscara, etc. se hizo cumplir cortésmente. Las mesas estaban bien espaciadas, lo que me gusta de todos modos, y fueron desinfectadas entre los clientes. Servicio de mesa completo i. mi. no hay servicio de bar.No dudaría en volver a alojarme allí.

Hemos visitado este pub muchas veces, pero no en los últimos años. Nuevos propietarios y han trabajado duro para hacer una gran diferencia. V amigable y nada es una molestia. Enorme pescado y patatas fritas, costillas fundidas y kebabs "turcos".Olvidé que también hay un comedor privado en la parte de atrás para unas 10 y tienen 3 habitaciones para estar. Habíamos jugado al golf en el parque Broome y está literalmente a 5 minutos en coche. mucho espacio exterior y siguiendo todos los procedimientos de COVID. Pub de pueblo encantador con estacionamiento trasero

Decidimos llevar a nuestros hijos a dar un capricho a un pub local y nos topamos con esta joya de pub. Desde el momento en que llegamos nos recibieron con un personal amable. Nos quedamos impresionados con las comodidades seguras de Covid; En todas partes, las máscaras que usa el personal y la zona de juegos de los niños se rocían regularmente con spray antibacteriano. Los niños lo pasaron excelente. Incluso les dieron helados gratis, lo cual fue un toque encantador. ¡Todo esto fue orquestado por la maravillosa casera!

La desinfección de manos estaba disponible antes de ingresar, las mesas estaban espaciadas, teníamos servicio de mesa para bebidas, etc., platos cubiertos individuales de nuestra elección de comida en lugar de un buffet de gran calidad con buena elección y mucho para todos, pastel divino, sin prisas todos y pudimos quedarnos todo el tiempo que necesitáramos, personal atento. Pudimos darle a mi cuñado la mejor despedida posible dentro de las restricciones actuales - gracias Hatty y personal.Esperamos volver a comer allí de nuevo en el futuro. Estoy más feliz.Gracias

Era nuestra primera visita a este pub y la primera vez que salíamos desde el cierre, no podía haber sido mejor. Una bienvenida tan amable y un servicio excelente de parte de la encantadora dama que estaba detrás de la barra, lo siento, no obtuvimos su nombre. Hiciste todo lo posible para que nosotros y nuestros hijos nos sintiéramos bienvenidos. Estuviste tan encantador, muchas gracias por limpiarnos el área de juegos que realmente mencionó mucho y a nuestros niños les encantó, así como los helados que tan amablemente les diste. Después de todo lo que ha estado sucediendo, fue tan hermoso poder relajarse en un ambiente tan encantador. La comida también era excelente ya un precio razonable. En todas partes también estaba impecable. Realmente hiciste nuestra tarde y definitivamente volveremos.

Llegamos a almorzar un viernes. El menú era escaso y laminado y las comidas cuando llegaron (después de una espera considerable) fueron decepcionantes. Las verduras de temporada resultaron ser una lata de verduras mixtas. Sin embargo, la cerveza parecía haberse conservado bien.

We had a wonderful evening in this lovely place. The food was very tasty homemade and a great price. We got very friendly service. We absolutely recommend this place.

We had a gathering here for a Birthday party and Zaf and Hatty could not have been more accomodating. We had a fabulous evening with a wonderful buffet of hot and cold food which many of our guests complimented them on. The atmosphere here is lovely and welcoming. We also stayed the night in a lovely comfortable clean room with everthing that we needed. We had a lovely homecooked breakfast the next morning and I really enjoyed this, sat near to the wood burner listening to some gentle music. I can't leave this review without recommending the chicken curry here! Thank you both for a fabulous weekend.

Shame on the gentleman named Jeremy who wrote his review a few days ago, not exactly correct. First off, let’s just say how unbelievable this pub is! From the minute you walk in to the time you walk out, the experience is phenomenal! We come from the states and will continue to do so just for this pub. It just so happens we were here the night that Jeremy, his wife, and whomever the third wheel was, and they seemed absolutely delighted with the food, as they ate like they had never eaten before! They were quite rude and complained a bit too much, but for the menu to be uninspiring, badly cooked, and executed, they sure enjoyed every last bite from what my party of 7 saw. For the record, my party of 7 with several bottles of wine, appetizers, entrees, and desserts was at £100! So a party of 3 at £100 is a blatant lie. With all of this said, any negative review you see here, ignore them and make a trip to the BEST pub around! Jeremy, don’t even bother trying to respond back to this, as 7 of us witnessed your “bad experience”, and it will make you look that much smaller.

The pub looks kind of vintage and it looks absolutely lovely they have a range of different foods the food is cooked all from scratch and is delicious and everyone is so welcoming and you can even have a laugh with the land lady I would highly recommend going to the pub it is so nice and their events are amazing as well

Incredible dinner! The food was delightful and the landlady, Hatty, was beyond lovely. She even put us up in a private dining room so our little ones could relax. We loved it so much we’re spending another evening of our weeklong holiday here!

From the very beginning the seat covers were stained the menu was very uninspiring and the food was all fried with massive piles of chips with everything! Badly executed and poorly cooked.Service was very slow but the lady serving us was delightful.One of the worse meals we have had for a long time and for three still cost us over £100.

Stopped here for lunch before checking in to the Broome Park Hotel. Although busy with a large party eating lunch we were made very welcome and had a great light meal. It was 'fun' getting there and meeting a large articulated lorry coming round a bend in the "No HGVs Allowed" section was a challenge in itself!

Went her for a drink only. The pub is very clean. It is like a typical country pub inside. Although I didn't have the food looking at the roasts coming out of the kitchen they looked delicious. I would recommend this place.

Enjoyed a really nice meal (chips were particularly good!). Excellent service and friendly. Good beer on tap also. Would definitely go again.
