On holiday in Whitstable and spotted this pub, which is just out of the town centre, and because it looked lovely from the outside, we thought we would pop in for a drink. The pub and gardens are well maintained, and the bar staff were polite, however, the pub has a strange atmosphere - we did not feel welcome, which wasn't helped with locals standing right outside the door blocking entrance/exit. Also, children are not permitted in the garden - v. strange! Worse of all, however, I had seen another online review that mentioned they had overheard racist comments, which was refuted and dismissed by the owners as malicious, however, I can categorically state that I heard someone at the bar use the "n" word 3 times - beyond shocking!!!

Great Atmosphere, Friendly and welcoming place to visit.. Staff are wonderful and can not do enough for you. Great food, drinks and prices.. Highly recommended.. Will defo be visiting again and telling friends and family to do the same.

We stopped in the two brewers for some lunch, was met by the lovely landlady who was very accommodating. We both had a brie and bacon bagett with chips, spot on! we sat in the garden which is so beautifully kept, fresh flowers all over you can really tell the pub and garden is well looked after. will definitely be returning with more friends and family for a game of pool and a spot of lunch in the garden!

One of the last of a dying breed. A proper pub. If you want fake character, the smell of old cooked fish and craft ales that smell like feet and taste similar, you need to walk further into whitstable where the old traditional pubs have been given the tourist treatment by the respective owners and breweries in an attempt to polsih a turd and fleece money from tourists who have to visit whitstable because Instagram says they simply have to. If however, you want a game of darts, pool, the ability to choose what music you want to listen to on a comprehensive Juke Box all the while enjoying your reasonably priced pint of premium Larger, then this is the place. Good food, welcoming staff, amazing garden, especially in summer. The traditional Kentish game of bat and trap, ample parking and Sky and BT sports for the footy. It's a nice pub, not a night club, but if you want a traditional and very proper British pub experience where you can experience all of the above, then this is the place to visit in Whitstable.

We came here for Sunday lunch with our (fussy) teenage daughters who cleaned their plates. Lovely home cooked lunch followed by drinks in the beautiful garden. It was particularly nice to be able to bring our dog and the staff even gave him treats for being so well behaved!

Had a lovely time at The Two Brewers with friends. Gorgeous sunny day, so spent the afternoon sat in the immaculately kept garden enjoying drinks. Staff attentive and always friendly and up for a chat ! Definitely be returning for the Sunday roast and recommend to others!

Had a great lunch and enjoyed music from a local jazz band , food was great and came out quickly and the ale was In fantastic condition a beautiful pint , will definitely head back for another Friday afternoon’s entertainment.

This pub is perfect for a nice drink especially in the best kept pub garden in whitstable which is perfect for day time drinks in summer. Staff are friendly and the pub itself was spotless, I will definitely be visiting again!

Lovely location with parking. We called in for drinks on Saturday. There were a few people sat at the bar. People were playing pool to the right. Friendly staff. Toilets clean! (This is a must) I happened to walk by the kitchen door and had a nosey as I walked by!!! This to looked v clean. Bar areas lovely. Will be returning for a cheeky drink & sandwich(without my grandkids in tow!) Lovely character pub.

Horrible place... staff are disgusting and rude people. I saw what looked like rat droppings under table, got out of there as quickly as I could. Not recommended!

was visiting the area and looking for somewhere to have a nice drink, and heard horrendously racist comments coming from the bar area. obviously, unable to say if it was staff or customers but certainly was not going to stay. edit: wow. real mature response. so happy to see the worries about hate filled language have been completely eradicated.

Always a nice friendly pub with good selection of beers,food and outside seating. Your first Port of call when getting into Whitstable... i should know, i live here. Lovely staff and sky sports too.

I'm rating this pub as I like the name. My wife and I didn't actually go in, we stopped to do a birthday video for a friend by the sign. But this tracking system called Google wants a rating. So, as I spoke to a seemingly very happy customer outside I'll say amazing.

If you're looking for a proper pub (and trust me, there's not many left in Whitstable) then you'll do a lot worse than this. Just outside the town centre means it's not a busy place but it still has a good vibe.

second time i have been there and both times good service and good honest sunday roast. not normally a fan of having to order at the bar but because this is a very quaint small pub it is not intimidating at all. in fact i would say for this pub it works perfectly. this time i even had a dessert which again piping hot and really nice. it may be a 30 minute drive for me but its well worth the time.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. The landlord was the rudest person I’ve had the displeasure of meeting. He’s clearly a very insecure man who uses aggression as a defence mechanism. I strongly recommend that you DON’T pay a visit to this pub; while the general atmosphere is nice, it certainly is not worth the underserved and overreactive abuse of a small, sweaty man who should not be allowed to own a hovel let alone a pub.

Nice friendly little pub with nice garden

This is a Lovely, traditional pub with friendly staff, a warm crowd, good pints and a cheap and cheerful food menu. It has a beautiful beer garden section... a pool table... darts.... it's a gem.

We don’t live in the area but having stopped to have Sunday Roast we will definitely return. It was a very old, 1690 built I believe, and welcoming atmosphere. Happily no loud music so we were able to chat and hear each other. We ordered a chicken roast, a pork and a lamb roast. Each of our meals were delicious. Really good selection of vegetables and all served piping hot. Incredibly good price at £7.95. Good selection of puddings but main meal left us full. Very friendly staff and service was prompt. We will return.

Very nice tidy beer garden , very nice ales I recommend the red top dairy. One of the last decent pubs left in whitstable thats not been ruined like many of the others in town.

Not dog friendly and staff unhelpful

Came for drink and possibly lunch. Refused entry to the pub garden to our dog. Really? Never been refused anywhere else that has a pub garden. We did the sensible thing and voted with our feet. We returned to Seasalter where we and the pooch...

So we all know these are strange times at the moment, so I can accept the 3 different pints of real ale served that had all turned, what I cannot accept though is rudeness to customers. I witnessed (I am assuming) the landlady shouting very abruptly at various customers throughout the evening. Too many people in certain areas, standing to close to the bar etc. Yes thes are things everyone should be abiding by at the moment however the manner at which people were reminded of this was uncalled for. This left the atomsphere as sour as the beer

Popped for a quick drink. Happy to say the safety measures are so well organised, with friendly staff, and no fuss. Staff welcoming to new faces. Garden lovely as always. Definately coming back

Disappointed! Not dog friendly - cannot go in large beer garden due to chickens roaming about. Had one drink outside front of pub by the busy road, breathing in car fumes! The garden is large enough to keep chickens in one area surely? Staff member was quite standoffish also.

Ideal place to watch sky football and a pint

I've visited the Two Brewers fairly frequently in the two years since we moved to Whitstable but never again. We stood at the bar while three groups who were clearly known to the woman behind the bar were served before us and shouldn't have been....

Lovely old pub. Not much parking. Staff kind and polite. Ladies toilet spotless. Coffee superb + good price. 2 lattes + 2 crisps £6. Would go there again.

Lovely pub, up the road from my mums. A few locals and bar staff took me under their wing one night a couple years ago, they even invited me for a curry over the road. Should be going back soon.

One of the best pubs I have been too in Whitstable, the locals who use it are really friendly and always willing to talk, landlady/ bar staff are friendly too and the feel all round is welcoming.

Only Sunday lunch menu so it's a roast. All very good produce well served in a quaint little pub. OK for a pint and a roast.

We called in for a swift one and ended up staying much longer! A delightful place with a friendly welcome and a beauttifully kept, sunny garden. We didn't eat here so I can only imagine from the standards shown, that the food will be delicious.

Our very friendly local, of ten commented on by visitors from elsewhere. Always someone to talk to, a lovely beer garden, a good programme of pub sports, lively music calendar and a wide range of well- served drinks. Sunday lunches very tasty and good value.

Odd little pub full of hostile locals. Far better pubs in the town centre. Hopefully this will be refurbished at some point and the food/drink offering will improve. At the moment, avoid.

The Two Brewers is my local. Very friendly establishment with good beers and a nice garden (with chickens!) at the back, traditional pub decor on the inside. Food is lunchtimes only. Karaoke nights are very popular, if that is your thing it can get a bit competitive!

Another good pub to visit, just on the outskirts of whitstable but again a nice pub good seating area and it even has an avery out the back. Friendly management make it a well run pub and definitely worth a visit.
