It's 9:15 PM. Unfortunately almost completely empty.

It’s supposed to be students only but it clearly wasn’t. The bouncers ask for your ID at the entrance but don’t pat you down or search your bags, but once you enter, receptionists will ask for your ID again and tell you to step back to allow yourself to be taken a picture of, working providing reason? Ordered a pint that came out to be more expensive than a double vodka, with a price you don’t even see in London. Prices aren’t too great either, but the drinks are nice. There’s a dance floor (which was void of any people) inside and some benches outside where most people were. Didn’t seem to be any food

Oh my God, this is a very bad place and I do not recommend it There was a girl who said she didn't like me. They fired me. I didn't do anything. He didn't tell me what was happening I was cooperating with them in a friendly manner. They just kicked me out when I was trying to understand and talk the owner came and told me I will block you and you will not enter any club in the area again he was rude to me maybe because of my color I was disappointed because I read similar comments I do not advise anyone to come, the owner is bad and the guards are bad The drinks are so expensive it's the worst experience.

I was at the night here only, but everything depends on DJ . "Two out of three times, it was good, but when the DJ changes the music too quickly, it's not what I like. Everybody is waiting for a drop, but he keeps changing to another song at the perfect moment for dancing. I understand when a DJ makes a joke once or twice, but it happened about 50% of the night."

Went there on a Tuesday night. Which it stated only was open. Once arrived fully shut. No one inside. Thought we would leave it for a bit to see if they open later than stated. But didn’t. Do not say you are open when you aren’t!!!!! It ruins people’s plans. That’s all.

25 quid for two drinks.. Well over priced.

During the city sound festival they increased their prices extortionately. £19 for a double vodka lemonade is just insanely expensive. Atmosphere was great and music was solid but the prices took away any positivity for me.

£16 for a double vodka and lemonade, taking advantage of people going for City Sounds by raising prices to extortionate amounts that make London prices look cheap. Really bad of them, avoid if you can.

Check your change, Mulitiple times I caught the bar staff shortchanging by £1 each round which may not seem a lot but all adds up!

We ended our weekend in Canterbury at the Cuban for evening drinks and dancing. The venue is pleasant but small, and rather dodgy in the fact that they charge £10 entry per person which must be paid in cash??? same for the cloak room which you must use as they will not let you put your coat down next to you on the small wall tables where you are standing. Service at the bar was prompt and we enjoyed the Latin American music on our arrival although this changed to a dj later in the evening. To get to the toilets is a hike with many stairs so be aware of this. The door staff were great and very fast to respond at the first sign of any problems. There was a nice garden area that was well heated. I would not recommend taking them up on an offer of a ‘vip table’ as it’s super expensive for essentially a bar stool table setup with an ice bucket. I would not consider this worth the price tag. Overall we had a good time though

We went there for salsa music however they are no longer playing salsa, it was normal club music. They are not serving food at the moment. Cocktails were nice, bouncers didnt let us keep our coats on the chair where we were sitting and kept coming to remind us to not keep them there. It was a bit too much .

Contrary to other reviews I have no issues with the security at Cuban. They are more likely to deny entry if you are too drunk but that's fair enough and they are very good at making sure everyone is safe and behaving (somewhat) sensibly. It is a more expensive club so I'd try not to buy many drinks while in the club but otherwise a very solid experience. My experiences are limited to Cuban Mondays however, so I can't comment on the other nights available.

Joanna is the biggest assets to the Cuban. Every single week, we get life advice from her. She provides us with lollipops and love every time we visit the toilet. I’ve been here since 2021 and seeing Joanna has always made our night at Cuban. Love Meg, Emma & Chloe x

Don't go to Cuban on certain nights like BED student night, unless you want to be crushed by too many people on the ground floor. Everyone was rude shoving people, elbowing, kicking and threats for fighting on the dance floor. Other people were falling over getting hurt.

Cuban staff are the absolute best! I've never been to Cuban but i experienced my wallet getting stolen and traced a transaction to Cuban last night, I rushed to the place within an hour of receiving my bank's notification. I was very well taken care of, I explained my situation to security and they got the manager to help me. They handled everything very fast and super efficiently, through security cameras and ID scans, we found who stole and used my bank card within 15 min. Everything was handled smoothly and with care, they all knew what to do and the relief of getting my wallet back washed over me so soon after me getting to Cuban. Everyone who worked there was kind and considerate. I'm now encouraged to go to Cuban properly, as I imagine the experience is as lovely as the staff.

This place was awesome. Had a great night.

Delusional bouncers outside the front claiming students only when It’s not a student night only. Refused entry due to cocky bouncers £10 down for nothing, please get nicer bouncers that know how to do their job instead of lying to customers and treating them badly in future ( bouncer Lukas ) and another bald man with beard. Will not return again very disappointing

Nice spot, there's an entrance fee and they take a copy of your ID, pretty standard these days unfortunately. Spacious inside with a smoking area. Nice dance floor. DJ and a good variety of spirits. Good club

The mangers were rude and the bar staff don’t know how to make drinks

Absolutely shocking. I got kicked out for no reason. Happened about 30 minutes ago 2 bouncers called Richard and Miguel grabbed me and threw me out with no reason what so ever. They must have known someone in the club that wasn’t happy with how I was dressed or looked as they showed no remorse. Shocking establishment to treat their customers like that. Will be making my followers aware of the situation. Should be ashamed of yourselfs

Do not go to this horrible place, I was let in for wearing cargo bottoms and a top but my boyfriend who was behind me wasn’t let in for wearing a jumper and cargos. I then asked the bouncer if he took his jumper off did he looks smart enough I was told 4 times I then told the bouncer I was disabled (type 1 diabetes and various other health issues) and that I needed him if something happened to please let him in, I was told I was playing the disabled card and that he didn’t believe me, this left me feeling extremity upset and disheartened that I would be treated this way just because I don’t have a visible disability, I asked to speak to the manager multiple times and was shouted at. I took a minute and went back to the bouncer who compared me needing my boyfriend due to my disability to me saying “he’s black so he should be let in” it was completely ableist . Unfortunately the management allows these bouncers to do anything. When speaking to the police they said they had multiple complaints about the bouncers disrespectful speech at Cuban. Do not go unless y want to cry.

My son went here and was searched inside the club - he did not refuse and gave bag to bouncers he had a box of matches in his bag since he smokes which was searched at entry and given the all clear, the bouncers then aggressively pulled my son out of his seat in a headlock punching him several times into the abdomen area and then hitting my sons girlfriend we will be pressing charges for this aggressive behaviour. There was no need and we have witnesses. My son did not resist at any give time therefore this is ABH/GBH. Avoid this place at all costs

New security are absolutely terrible. Are incredibly rude, wouldnt let a group of lads in that were out doing pub golf so were wearing multi colours and said its because of what they were wearing. Although few months back these lads would be in cuban every weekend no problem. And what they were wearing were fine. Then a fight happened due to a group of lads being knobs to girls. A girl stuck up for herself and of course she got grabbed and kicked out Tried tellingg one of the security who accused me of playing victim and spat in my face. 15 minutes later i see them same lads still in there.

I went with a group of friends tonight (40 somethings) they went in and my son, who was our lift home wasn’t allowed in because he had cargos on… fine, so I wanted to go in and tell the others who had gone the new plan but the very arrogant big for his boots bouncer refused….. very obnoxious, they lost loads of revenue, we only wanted to let them know a change of pick up time! If management read this, it was an older guy with bad teeth…. Big mistake!

All off us over 30, wanted ID for half of us, only had our bank cards on us, so got turned away, not very friendly, steer clear.

The lady in the bathroom literally was the highlight of myself and my friends night!!! We went to Cuban on Saturday and she helped us so much without her Cuban wouldn’t have been as fun! That women seriously deserves a pay rise lol! Absolutely was the loveliest lady will not forget her! :)

Great time Saturday night celebrating my cousins 18th birthday. We had a cocktail masterclass and 3 course dinner. Naz was AMAZING, she made everything so comfortable and enjoyable! Made sure we were properly looked after and enjoying ourselves. I can confirmed she succeeded and we had the absolute best night! All the staff were great also. Communication for booking was spot on from the get go thanks to Tasha. Food was great. Cocktails were yummy! Great value for money. Will 100000% be back! Thank you!

Entering on Saturday evening, there were two staff members who were charging the entrance fee. They were rude, obnoxious and really should not be dealing with the public with their attitudes. Resistant to come back now due to their rudeness. I asked to pay by card for the entrance fee and this was refused, advised cash only, but they were extremely blunt, maybe need some training on how to converse with people nicely! We were celebrating for our friend and they really put a dampener on what was a great day. Luckily the bar staff were absolutely amazing and could not do enough for our group! Testament to the Cuban. DONT visit this venue, bouncers are very aggressive even towards a simple conversation we were on a business trip where we would have spent a lot of money. 59year old client was refused entry with no ID Even though website states at management discretion clearly a power trip on nights that suit them

Trying to find somewhere to eat, Stumbled across this place, unsure whether it was a restaurant or club. We were welcomed inside with a menu but no one came to take an order after 10 minute's in a relatively empty restaurant. We left. No one batted an eye lid.

Me and my partner went to glitter bomb a few weeks ago for my birthday; as always it didn’t disappoint, great atmosphere and Leo is a legend as always, keep up the good work mate x from Jack and Daisy :)

Visited The Cuban for some drinks with my boyfriend on Friday night. When we arrived, there was approx 4 people there, the drinks cost £11 for a double gin and £5 for a single. Why would you not buy 2 singles?? And £1.50 for a ‘splash’ of lemonade. Absolutely rip off, would not recommend. Not only were the prices outrageous, there was no music playing and no atmosphere.

Waited 15 minutes to be told the entrance was £10 CASH. Cuban are you trying to avoid tax? Got told to go get cash and came back for her to try and scam us saying it was now £15 as we went in the ‘fast lane ‘ after getting told to get the cash. Toilets are filthy and women in there is incredibly rude. Music was shockingly bad. Bad vibes, don’t recommend. Canterbury needs a better club then that. Embarrassing.

Security team is stubborn and rude. My friends were not allowed into the club and were given no explanation. We go to Cuban regularly yet the bouncers were utterly disrespectful.

The security guards are blatantly rude and discriminatory. My friends were pulled out of the club and accused of sneaking in through the back. Despite the fact that they clearly had stamps on their wrists, they were on the guest list and that we come to Cuban at least once a week, the security guard refused to believe them. Yesterday, one of the same friends who was accused of sneaking in was refused entry without any explanation. Another friend was told that he has been banned for something he did last week and, yet again, there was no further explanation. One of the security guards faced his back to us and kept saying ‘He knows what he did’. Although they have no proof that anyone in my group has done anything wrong they continuously choose to target people and make groundless accusations. We are a big group of people and we bring a lot of traffic to the club and we are treated with no respect. We are taking our business elsewhere.

I wish I could give 0 stars. Absolutely appalled by the behaviour of the security team. One of the bouncers insisted that me and my friend snuck through the back even though we had stamps and he was the one that checked my ID at the door. Only after taking me out of the club where I showed him his colleague who let me into the club did he let me back in.

I went to the Cuban last night 15/03/2022 and I want to thank the female staff for being absolutely wonderful to me. A man was dancing with his girlfriend when he shoved his hand up my dress I was disturbed by that, so I told my friends.Two female security workers talked to me about the situation and reassured me that the Cuban is a safe space so the guy would be told off and even though that guy was apparently a regular at the Cuban they barred him for his actions and I am so so thankful that they were did their jobs exceptionally and kept me and my friends safe. If you are seeing this thank you both for listening to me and not dismissing me you are wonderful.

We went to Glitterbomb last night; great and friendly staff Leo and Sarah I think her name was. Also the toilet lady and security guards Morgan and Willoe were lovely too :) Great Night x

There is no adequate security guards in the Cuban. Last night some guys touched me on purpose while I was making my way through the crowd of people. I hate it when people touch me just like that and this is a criminal offence to touch strangers like that. I will not go back to the Cuban again. The Cuban is one of the worst places I have ever been to. Do not go to the Cuban. I start to really hate nightclubs because not only am I alone but also I hate places which are fully packed with people. The Cuban really must shut down forever and never open again. I was clearly in an uncomfortable situation, where I had to shout at a guy to leave me alone as he was following me all night and I already told him I didnt want him anywhere near me as I am happily engaged, a security guard saw me shout at him and did nothing to stop him, as they have seen him do it all night. Horrible, I was there to just enjoy myself with a friend not to be harrassed all night and the staff to do nothing about it.

Great place for cocktails. Fun decor. Tasty Tapas. Good prices. We spent a very enjoyable couples of hours here. The size from outside is deceptive, there's an outdoor terrace and several floors.

Dreadful treatment here - out on a quiet hen party and the bouncer on the door spotted my friend was wearing a bride to be sash. He said "we don't accept hen parties" and ordered us to leave. He was very rude when we tried to reason - I'd understand if we were loud and rowdy, but we were quite the opposite. He said it says on the Cuban website they don't take hen parties and after checking today it doesn't - it just says declare upon booking. Very disappointed with this attitude.

(Thursday night only) Only positives I can give you are the women and music. The rest... where to start? If you fancy being a human pinball machine after 11:30/12, then you might enjoy getting knocked about like a ragdoll on the dance floor. Want to get from one side of the club to the other? Don't be scared to barge through people like someone stole £200 worth of gear. For 1 second, I thought I was in London when I was charged £11 for a double Disarano coke. Go tesco and get there own branded bottle for £3 cheaper! I hope you've washed well and bought coins for the aftershave man because with no air con, I feel like I'm dancing next to a pizza oven. Too hot in the summer! There's another floor, why not use it when it gets so busy? Too short staffed perhaps? I give the staff 5 stars for putting the best shift in they can because clearly not enough staff around! See I'm nice. The toilets couldn't be in a more inconvenient place. You will be taking a trip to what feels like the top floor of the Shard to these toilets which I think are also unsafe! Very tight corners. I could add more but I think I said enough. Simple things like opening other floors, bringing more staff, having air con, easier accessible toilets could make this place a real blast! Until this happens, I think I'll be avoiding. Because after I left tonight, I was actually looking forward to writing this review which says a lot.

Fun place to visit, great for cocktails

It's fun maybe for like 20 minutes, after that it becomes overwhelming. So- "The Cuban" looks like it had a pretty great atmosphere from the entrance, which is why I decided to come in here. Problem is that you have to pay a £10 entry fee, so you basically should stay for at least 45 minutes to make it worthwhile. They also require your ID for proof of age, so bare that in mind if you look young. As for being inside the nightclub: It's loud- VERY loud. When I was ordering a diet coke I had to shout so I could be heard. I understand it's like a party, but the music doesn't need to be *that* loud, surely. My biggest concern with this nightclub was the fact that it looked like a covid breeding ground on the dance floor. Even though I'm fully vaccinated, I still didn't feel comfortable with people being up in my face. Personal space is still a thing as well! If you want to have a fun night out without the worry of heavy covid spreaders, and being able to actually hear yourself think, then I would recommend just looking at other midnight pubs instead. Had to give this place a try though. I just think if the staff could enforce a limited capacity and turn the music down, then I would rate this nightclub higher. Thank you for reading.

Wish I could give it 0 stars. Absolutely disgusting that they wouldn't let my group in because I was wearing a hen do sash. We were all fine and not intoxicated and weren't wearing anything tacky to 'bring down their image'. They've lost our money and I won't try to go again. The bouncers spoke to us like we were dirt under their feet.

Queued for 15 minutes on a Saturday night to be turned away at the door despite being completely sober. Not offered a concise reason for the dismissal and felt that the decision was discriminatory and unjustified. Asked to speak to the manager and was made a laughing stock by the staff. Definitely would not recommend. Disgusting

Funky venue and vibe, drinks a little pricey

It's okay, however the drinks are expensive. The floor near the toilets are so slippery to the point I saw 4 girls fall over and my partner. My partner ended up damaging her knee, when we told a security guard it needs to be cleaned we was ignored.

Absolutely not worth paying for a table here, ridiculously over priced. If your table is outside you cannot hear the music and are basically sat in the back of a smoking area. Rude manager and staff. Citi Terrace, has a much nicer vibe, free tables and great staff, would definitely go back here instead.

A great venue for daytime drinks, nice music playing in the back ground and super friendly staff. The ordering app wasn't playing ball on their WiFi but this was no issue with the waiting service.

If you want to be a responsible individual in the midst of this pandemic - AVOID!! Only about 20% of people wearing masks when up from their tables making it a COVID-19 breeding ground. Mask-wearing not enforced by the bar staff or security. Did not feel safe there at all. Cost of entry was £5 and drinks were expensive. Not only this but they instruct you to use the QR code on the tables to place your drinks orders yet every time you order there is a 70p surcharge for being online. What a scam! I do not mind spending money when it is worth it but it’s a cheapy bar with tacky customers and they want to charge luxury prices. The music was so loud as if it were a club but you are not able to get up from your table or dance so all you can do is talk.. but the volume of the music made it rather difficult to talk to the people at your table. On the plus side, the renovation definitely is an improvement but unfortunately there’s too much that puts me off. Won’t be going again and don’t recommend to others.

Not good. Unfriendly staff. If you don’t mind being treated badly this is the place for you 😙 no cooperation allowed. Basically told how to take everything and to no object or be thrown out.

Best place for going out! Let us in even when we didn’t book and couldn’t get a table. Friendly staff 10/10
