Great place to eat. I come there every time I go to Canterbury and I'm never disappointed, the welcome, the service, the location, the cuisine, but also the price everything is very good. You have nothing to envy of certain restaurants on the outskirts of the city, which call themselves gastronomic, your cuisine is much better. Congratulations to the chef. Don't hesitate to stop by, you won't be disappointed

Just a one night stopover. Staff were friendly and the evening meal was very nice. Breakfast was a little bit disappointing. Scrambled eggs needed help and the fried ones looked like they had been incinerated lol. Coffee was superb however. Cracking view of the Cathedral out of my room 👍

Great menu, plenty of choice. Enjoyed three stunning started, so filling that could not manage all of the main course - which was also tasty. Good wine range and everything great value for money. Not too busy so able to catch up with friends. Have always had a positive experience here

The staff were good when we arrived ordered drinks which arrived shortly after ordering. Placed order for starter and main. Starter arrived which was very nice. We then waited 40 minutes after finishing the starter for the main. The chicken arrived cold , with cold mushroom sauce. My husband ordered a burger which was okay. We spoke to the waiter who said he would take away and get re-done , the waiter was apologetic and apologised for the wait. The waiter who was originally serving us was useless we needed to chase for drinks and was not interested when we complained about the delay and fact it was cold. The second waiter left the chips whilst our main meals were replaced. The food arrived but the experience ruined the evening. When the food eventually arrived it was okay but nothing special. We did not pay the service charge and would not go back - my recommendation to others would be to go elsewhere !

Having stumbled across The Wheatsheaf last night we were glad we did - the staff were extremely friendly, the food was great and cooked just as we asked, even the red wine was warm. We came across The Wheatsheaf when local opposition, The Chestfield Barn, informed us at 8pm that the kitchen had closed, even though it is advertised to stay open to 8.30pm. I have to say Chestfield Barn's loss was The Wheatsheaf's gain and we will return

Treated my wife to an Arments pie and mash instead of going to London. The food was great, fresh, and hot. I had a seafood combo, but without the whitebait, a good selection of hot and cold fish. My wife had the Arments pie, mash, and liquor with a liberal splash of chilli vinegar. The specials board had a great selection. Will definitely be back to try out the Sunday Roast. Also it's so close to the beach.
