Not good for selliing 2md week poured with rain event was cancelled. To be quite honest I Wonder after months of making flower arrangements is it all worth it. I dont give up easilly. We'll have to see.

Food was excellent, reccomend the fish & chips personally but all food I've had here has been very good everytime. Downside no Guinness on tap 😱.

We were accommodated despite not having booked ahead. Staff very chatty and cheerful. Food was well presented and very tasty. Liver +bacon, beef and ale pie, sticky toffee pudding and bread + butter pudding, followed by coffee, were the choices! Update: Bank Holiday Monday - busy but not overly so. Very welcome and refreshing drinks!

Went for Sunday lunch and it was the best roast I have had in a long time. Everything was perfect. The plate was hot, the food was hot! Proper homemade roasties, yorkie puds, flavorsome gravy, it was fabulous. My partner had the homemade steak and ale pie and I taste tested it and it was delicious. Puddings were lovely too. Definitely found my new favourite food stop! Highly recommend

Our 1st visit here! Lovely meal spent with my auntie and uncle yesterday. tradional home cooked food served piping hot decent sized portions and delicious, staff very friendly,would definitely return to this pub if we that way again lovely thankyou to all the staff 😊

Fourteen of us ate lunch here after a visit to Wildwood. It is a really nice pub with friendly welcoming staff. The food is excellent. We all ordered on the day but didn’t have to wait very long and all the dishes arrived at the same time. Everything was perfectly cooked and looked appetising. Portions were generous but most of us managed a dessert as well and we were very happy with them too. Highly recommended!

Our family booked the restaurant to hold a wake from a recently departed member of the family. The process of booking the room plus the food was very easy, and on the day each of our guests were made welcome. The food provided was delicious, the drinks flowed and the staff very conscientious when serving. We were given the room for as long as needed. Thank you to Colin and Amanda for being such good hosts.

I love this pub. The food is great and one of the few pubs that are still affordable in Canterbury area. Staff are always so pleasant. The two ladies - blonde lady usually on the bar and darker haired lady usually running the restaurant - are brilliant. Vegetarian meals are great too.

Visited the Golden Lion, for an evening meal with friends, we were made very welcome and shown to our table straight away. The staff were polite and very friendly. There was a good choice variety of choices on the menu, plus a couple of specials avaiable. Our drinks orders were taken, and given time to look at the menu. I choice the Lamb shank, which came with vegetables. The meat just fell of the bone and was delicious with the minted gravy. Others in the group. All the meal were well presented with ample portions. The meals were freshly cooked to order. The dessert were also of the same high standard. Will certainly be returning in the very near future

Absolutely fantastic owner Colin and he's staff very welcoming food was fantastic and a beautiful bread and butter pudding with custard, very fog friendly, we stayed over night in the car park in our motorhome as a stop off travelling back home even the local customers were very friendly we had a lovely night thank you 👍

Tried the pudding club on the 2nd Wednesday of most months,good value for a Steak & kidney pud followed by dessert for just £15. Once a month, that's about right for a man of my age.

Took the inlaws here for lunch, mum in law is coeliac, excellent choices for her, nothing too much trouble, made to feel so welcome, friendly professional courteous table service, food excellently prepared and cooked, no complaints... Total nostalgia trip for to 80+yr olds(in laws). Thank you

I just love the steak and kidney pudding once a month followed by dessert of choice for a very low rice. It's so good that we book every month without fail.

Had a lovely lunch here with family today, traditional pub fare, nothing pretentious. Friendly staff, dog friendly. Good looking building, lovely outside area. Large parking area for country pub. Reasonably priced, suprised not busier, but wasn't the suniest of days. Lovely real ale, enjoyed the sheps late red. Thankyou.

Love this pub. Excellent food, great atmosphere, extremely friendly, helpful staff, nothing is too much trouble. We live in Hampshire but we always visit when we are in Canterbury in our motorhome. This pub has hook up facilities in their large car park which is in a nice setting and extremely clean. Also has a large garden which is always kept nice by the owners Colin and Amanda. Really worth a visit..

Went to the Golden Lion for Sunday lunch with two there couples. Service was prompt, the staff were very polite and friendly. Good choice of Roast dinners. We had Lamb and Beef, both excellent. The vegetables were great and plentiful. Puddings and sweets were reasonably priced and delicious.

Great meal ,really was had the lamb leg also shep pie and a steak with chips and salad best ive had for a good while.Thank you it was our Mum's 77 birthday and you guys did us proud will definitely be back to good to miss . Good luck with youre Batand Trap season hope all goes well .

Amazing pub ! Have been going here for years ! We have moved out the area now but try and pop back as often as we can. Very traditional style pub ! Great food, great beer, phenomenal beer garden ! Very dog friendly as it’s one of the few pubs we can take our ex street dog to. Very well run , no nonsense taken pub ! Never had any trouble in the many nights and days i have spent here. Perfect for a family meal or drinks with friends.

We were a large party and there was a mix-up over our order, so some waited rather a long time for their meals. However the food was very good, as usual. I had liver and bacon which was excellent, but the fruit crumble, although tasty, was presented in rather a mess and not at all crumbly. The lamb shank ordered by friends was huge and soon demolished. Over all, very good.

This pub is consistently brilliant. Amanda and Colin are always so friendly and accommodating to our food intolerances. Everyone we recommend it to has the same opinion. Perfect!

Lovely quiet stay in our Motorhome at the end of the car park. Electric offered but not needed. Fabulous beer and delicious food- lamb shank and the ham egg and chips. All served by the lovely Coral. Thanks very much and we’ll be back the next time we are en route to Dover.

Another out of the way pub, That is well worth a visit. The menu was varied and covers all types of food. The meal was deliious and a hearty size. Staff were helpful with a cheerful nature and a welcoming smile. Highly recommended.

Large group of us for Sunday lunch and we unanimously enjoyed it. My liver and bacon was excellent. My ony quibble would be that the fruit crumble, whilst delicious, was not at all crumbly. The service was the best.

We have used the Golden Lion many times, even though it is about 30 miles from our home. We return simply because the owners, staff and food are always excellent. We always look forward to repeat visits

We had a fabulous meal for my daughters 21st on Sunday, as always the food was amazing and the service was fabulous. We had 8 children under 7 and 12 adults and the staff were just brilliant, I cannot recommend The Golden Lion enough. Can't wait to go back. Xx

I was invited here for a Christmas meal which was very nice. Food was nice and hot and good portions. Staff are very friendly and polite. The pub is dated in its decor but clean and fresh. Has a nice outside area for nicer weather

This was our second visit recently, we had some friends down from Norfolk, and as we had tried the food on offer the previous week decided to take our friends here .We had a great meal, and the service was excellent, so we were not...

Typical Sheps pub. It's not bad, staff are friendly and accomerdating. So great there, beer isn't bad, would recommend bottle beer over cask. The pub is looking tired could do with freshening up throughout. Good size garden and lots of parking. Can't comment on the food as wasn't eating.

Day trip to see daughter at University, chose this as review looked good and they allowed dogs. Standard pub food but all very tasty and good value - fish and chips was excellent and the liver and bacon was great
