Food was amazing sadly the first two course were so flavoursome and such generous portions we had no room for dessert. Staff very friendly and efficient. Atmosphere welcoming in such a beautiful old building. Great value and the allow dogs in certain areas

Cor Blimey! A picturesque historic building in a pleasant setting with a stunningly rude woman behind the bar. Offhand, unsmiling, coarse and monosyllabic. We were going to have some lunch but she put us off. £11.40 for two small soft drinks and 2 packets of crisps. Don’t waste your time or your money.

Can’t fault the FOH service in of itself, but buying a £25 roast and the roast potatoes clearly being reheated in a deep fryer making them rock solid has cost me half a tooth. Won’t be going back (having paid multiple visits) clearly a kitchen team prioritising quick service over good service.

Busy Bank Holiday weekend, garden full even at 12:30 I told my friend to book just in case and glad we did. I've eaten here on a number of occasions and never been disappointed. Today was no exception, the staff are friendly and the food is generally a high standard, not too cheap but good portions and tasty sauces, whatever some negative reviewers might say. I first came here in the early 1980's when it was a much smaller pub with a small counter by the corner and people playing domino's and shove Ha penny at the bar or cribbage! It's got bags of character and simple seating with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Be sure to ring and book just in case! Great place to start or end a walk from! Often full of walkers and cyclists as well as car trade! Small car park at rear of property, if you have elderly or disabled guests drop them off before parking as the pub is located overlooking the former quarry pits in the valley below!

Visited for the first time this weekend 13/04/2024 Lovely pub beamed ceilings, original building with thatched roof. Food was top notch waitress was attentive and knowledgeable about options. Celiac options are available. Had the fillet steak. Was cooked properly and devoured. They serve good selection of drinks. Banoffee pie is to die for. A little sweet so the portion size was more than adequate. Will definitely visit again if in the area 🙂

Food was hit and miss. Half of mine was delicious, but the potatoes were dry and chewy. Obviously microwaved. Chips were lovely, however kids meal is incredibly insulting. £8 for pizza and chips and the pizza is nothing more than a supermarket individual margarita which costs no more than 80p. It was also burnt to a crisp. I don’t understand why country pubs such as this really let themselves down with the kids meals. One member of staff was very unwelcoming. Grumpy and miserable. Locals stare at you when you walk in as if you have no right to be there. Wouldn’t return.

Food - absolutely delicious - good amount of choice even on the set lunch menu and it far exceeded our expectations. In fact, we would say the photos do not do the food justice - and we're pretty fussy. Our only grumble about the first two courses was that we had no room for a third despite the tempting choices! We'll pace ourselves better next time. Service was very friendly with just the right amount of attention. The building itself is fascinating and our only small moan is that we were rather cold despite the token fire in the amazing inglenook fireplace. It's understandable that there can be no central heating in such a historic building so this is just a warning to wrap up warm!

Roast heaven. This is the gold standard of Sunday Roasts locally. Tender new season kentish lamb, roast potatoes with crunch but fluffy inside and al dente vegetables (with cabbage lightly tossed in a little olive oil). Companions had beef and slow roast pork belly (fat beautifully rendered and perfect crackling - I pinched some), both praised similarly. Leave room for the desserts. Service professional and just right despite being very busy. Not a gourmet pub but a very high level of cooking plus a lovely and very historical setting.

The Yew Tree is a lovely old pub dating back to the 1300s I believe. The pub serves really lovely food and has lots of seating for either eating in or outside. The pub is in Westbere and has parking and seating outside. Ideal for families. The pub is only a 10 minute walk from the lakes and hiking. The staff are very welcoming and happy to help. Toilets are very clean, and the tables and pub are kept very clean and wiped down as well.
