Very nice decore, lures you in. But that's where it ends typical food quality. Poor. Under cooked chips with my dull cod. Probably best to avoid food just have a beer.

Food and drink were amazing as always and were served quickly. My only criticism would be the cleanliness especially the cutlery being dirty covered in hair and left over food, I went to ask for clean cutlery only to be given the same peices back again. It's one of the smallest spoons pubs I have been in. It was a cold, wet day, so the place was packed. We just managed to get a table. Although, there were a couple of tables with glasses on but no one seated. Wasn't sure if they were free or not. Order some food, which arrived in a reasonable time, good job we Wasn't Hungry. The portion size was children sized. Didn't recall asking for a small plate?. 🤔. We ordered from the main menu two burgers with chips. When they arrived, one plate was a small child's plate with a burger and a few chips. The other one was a large adult plate, but with the same amount of chips as the child's plate. Had someone eaten my chips? Why was the plate different sizes? I took a deep breath, and the plate was almost empty. Well, we didn't stick around for anything else. We left and went for a dessert elsewhere. In fact, just down the road was a lovely ice cream parlour.

Visited today 25/08/2024 at midday- not a good experience at all- our food order was incorrect, even though we repeated it several times, the bar staff were not very knowledgeable- didn't know what an Appletiser was- basic knowledge. When we challenged about incorrect food order we were met with a negative response with no way of an apology! The pub was running on minimum staff and wasnt particularly busy. Being an ex-publican, I understand staff challenges but this was unacceptable. After always visiting the Peter Cushing on most visits to Whitstable, that was my last - will never set foot in the place again- it's more a playtime than a serious business! Weatherspoons- buck your ideas up!

Paid £8 for two cars to park and told we couldn't even get a drink. OK these things happen but no one knew how long before they were up and running so daughter enquired whether we could get a soft drink on the house whilst we waited. Answer NO. The fish was large, cooked to perfection, seriously one of the nicest bit of fish I’ve had in years, chips were ample and cooked to perfection. I don’t write reviews unless I’m seriously impressed but felt obligated to write this. Will return again soon and see if they can do this on the regular. Would recommend without reservation. Like I said, pint of Leffe and fish and chips sitting in nice surroundings, brought quickly on a plate for £9.97. Unfortunately the iced chai tea lattes we ordered tasted of nothing, there was no flavour to it so definitely not worth ordering. The drinks were also warm at the bottom and iced at the top. The pistachio iced latte, again, you couldn't really taste the pistachio flavour. The pastries and cakes were however nice. Lastly, the café being located right next to the bookstore is a plus.

Review of Pret-a-Manger, Canterbury Having frequented Pret-a-Manger for over 25 years, it has always been one of my go-to spots in England. However, my recent visit to the Pret-a-Manger on The Parade in Canterbury was shockingly disappointing. For the first time, I encountered staff who were not just loud but actively disruptive. Instead of the usual friendly service, they were teasing customers and shouting to one another, creating an atmosphere that felt more like a chaotic playground than a welcoming café. This unacceptable behavior not only undermines the brand's reputation but also detracts from the enjoyable experience I’ve come to expect from Pret. I hope this incident is taken seriously by management, as it tarnishes what should be a pleasant dining environment. If this behavior continues, I may have to reconsider my loyalty to a chain that has long held a special place in my heart. Finally , given some of the negative reviews, it seems that the quality of this Pret-a-Manger is getting worse rather than better. I really hope the management takes action to address these issues and restore the welcoming atmosphere that has always been a hallmark of the brand.
