I had the pleasure of a two night stay here for a wedding reception nearby. The welcome by one staff member (reception) could be best described as 'robotic', but that was only one person. All the dining room/bar staff were extremely helpful, quick to serve and very welcoming. I'd like to make a particular mention to Macauley and Deepa, who went above and beyond to serve 13 of us at dinner on the evening of 16th April. They were friendly, professional and the service was swift. The other lady I would like to make a special mention to, is Christine. She was there at breakfast on both the 17th and 18th, such a warm and friendly lady, professional, but just had that special 'something', a credit to the Company, as were MaCauley and Deeta. The meal deal of a two course dinner and breakfast the next morning is exceptional value. The only thing I would say is that the vegetarian/vegan options at dinner are limited, but other than that there is an excellent selection to choose from. I had the vegetable Thai green curry which was delicious and not too spicy, but very tasty, thank you to the Chef, we all enjoyed our meals. Breakfast is really good, something for everyone, except if you want vegetarian sausages you will have to ask, and order, but they are delivered to your table, so no big deal there, I just find it odd. The breakfast staff were also helpful and friendly. Note:- If you pre-pay for the meal deal, keep your receipt to show at breakfast as you will be asked for it, which is totally understandable and not at all unreasonable. The rooms are exactly as described in the adverts, big comfortable bed, everything you will need, hairdryer, coffee/tea tray, you'll want for nothing. The night staff were also very helpful in locating my car key, which I had left on a table near the bar, what a relief that was, so thank you, I wish I had got their names. Parking is OK, you can pay by telephone (automated) or on your mobile, but for that you will need to download the parking App. It's totally separate from Premier Inn, but the parking is quite limited there is another car park nearby, but more expensive. l'm not sure how you would cope if you've not been here before and you arrived at night, bring a torch! Signage from the car park to the side of the building to where the entrance to the building is none existent, again, you could be confused if arriving at night as you go around to the left. If you reach the Tesco cash point, go back a few steps and the entrance to the building is there, but the writing on the glass doors saying Premier Inn is does not stand out. All in all though, a brilliant stay I would definitely recommend and stay here again if I am in the area.

It was only because there isn't an Ibis in Canterbury that I took the Premier Inn option. The room was up to their usual good standards, and the staff were friendly, but the offer of not-so-good free WiFi in the hope you'll purchase the paid one doesn't make for good customer service, nor not having a loyalty programme such as Ibis offers. Location is ten minutes' walk to cathedral, fifteen to Canterbury East railway station, and twenty to Canterbury West. Hotel has a Tesco on ground floor and Waitrose opposite if you run out of stuff.

Not up to some Premier Inn standards. No hand towel in the bathroom. Only 2 sachets of coffee in the room. I stayed for 4 nights. Surely they know what is required for a regular guest staying 4 nights.

Well done Mr Beancounter! It's 14.40 and there's 3 people waiting to check in but none of us can unless we pay an extra £15 or wait until 3pm. How to annoy people before they've even checked in! P.S. The TV was also impossible to use...the remote channel change was also on a "go slow".

Reason I am giving this hotel 1 is because I’ve just received a £100 parking fine. We had used the car park 2 nights previously and couldn’t find a space on 3rd night so had to use the local carpark. We however drove in and drove out and they have fined us £100! Never staying here again!

All the faults that most chain hotels have are present. Booked accessible room by mistake and suspect these aren’t quite as nice as the normal rooms. Slept badly because of the following problems. -Laser-like TV standby light -Bright and intrusive AC control LED which illuminated the whole room. -Flashing smoke alarm. -Bed only has socket on one side-why?? -My room had a door through to the room next door. Could hear loud TV through it at 1am and then again at 7, why offer these stupid doors? Families can manage without one. The shower also had a very poor flow, I suspect they have turned the water down in some silly eco policy, it doesn’t save water just means you spend longer in the shower! Bathroom was tired with damaged floor. Breakfast was OK but they have given up on the restaurant and take pre bookings only. The ground floor entrance needs some TLC. Would probably stay again as there isn’t much other choice in this price range. Just remember to bring a roll of gaffer tape to cover up all the standby lights and make sure the room doesn’t have one of those dreadful and pointless interconnecting doors.

Stayed here twice in the space of two weeks, for one night. The family room is excellent for convenience and price. The checkin is easy at the machines and the checkout is simply a key drop. I don’t have any particular complaint, as it matched my expectations. The only small thing was that the sheets did not look particularly clean, but I don’t know if it was just a bit of worn off effect. I would definitely recommend it for a quick visit to the centre (walking distance) and for overnight stops when travelling to/from Europe.

Damp and below standard rooms. No.118 heating failed so moved to 115 - more damp than previous. Moved to 109, door would not open, then to 108. Oh then mustn’t forget 107. 2nd room paid for was substandard and dirty, but given the performance going on with the room moving, we could not face doing more in the early hours. A restful night it certainly wasn’t. Provided with a free breakfast as an apology of sorts, which we aborted and went elsewhere to buy one, as only half the hot food was available at any time and what was there was congealed. Hot drinks non working. I gave 2 stars overall as some of the staff were friendly and only positive thing I could find to say. Despite offering our money back on the night, after the admission that things had gone wrong, or should I say early hours, they only refunded one room - even though the disturbance was to both occupants for some time and Premier Inns were provided with photos of the state of the 2nd room. They ignored the last correspondence - in all the Premier Inns we have been in, never had the like. Hope this isn’t what to expect as we go forward. Wouldn’t hold out much hope when raising a complaint after the event too, as takes ages and they don’t appear to uphold what was said on the night, when those at the sharp end are apologising profusely.

The location is good, fairly close to the city centre. Rooms were as you'd expect from a Premier Inn. Could have done with a couple more tea bags as we had only 2 but lots of coffee and milk pots. Check-in was friendly. Bar/Restaurant let the place down...we arrived back to the hotel around 10.30pm and fancied a drink before heading up to the room but nobody seemed to be serving (lights were on and no indication it was closed) Breakfast was poor for a Premier Inn as hardly any selection for continental breakfast, the only pastries they had were croissants and they were dry and hard, took one bite and left mine.

The location is perfect for the city centre. Only a 5 min walk from the car park and town centre to the hotel. Staff were great at dinner service. Couldn't find any staff when I went down to reception to ask a question. This wasn't my first experience with Premier Inn hotels, which up until now it's been okay. I took my family away for a couple of days of relaxation, just to be treated in a very rude manner by the Asian guy from the reception. We asked about the hotel's car park which has 6 spaces only, not 14 as we've been told and it was full at that point, so the receptionist seemed rather disgusted by our questions. We came back from another very expensive car park approximately 1/2 hour later with all the luggage and the rest of the family members, out of which one is disabled. As there was no one at the desk, we rang the bell. The receptionist saw us, made sure that we saw him watching us and did nothing. We rang the bell a few times, all while he was in the next room/restaurant and each time we rang the bell, he would take out a phone from his pocket, press a button and put it back in. He eventually came when the hallway was full of people wanting to check in. He was extremely rude with us, gave us some figures to pay that were not in our initial reservation and we when asked for further details, he went from rude to absolutely disgusting behaviour in less than a second and then left without saying a word. A lady came who was nice and we were then able to check in at the initial price agreed and also explained why the Asian guy told us differently. It was a rather poor experience and I strongly believe that that specific receptionist would benefit from some more training and perhaps some anger management classes.

Awful. I booked a premier plus room expecting better service. A miserable front desk agent pushed me to the self check in desks instead of actually greeting me and welcoming me to the hotel. Because of this, had to come all the way back downstairs to get the premium WiFi code, and now sitting in the bar for the next 35 minutes because I wasn't asked if I wanted a book in for the restaurant even though I've booked a meal deal so clearly I'm here to eat. Stay in a premier inn's at least once per week and this by far has been the shoddiest service I've had.

I have a complaint (sort of). I don't know what kind of training you are giving to your teams, but I found nothing but friendly faces, very professional attitude, amazing problem-solving skills, and great food. So my "complaint" has to do with fact that you have raised the standards so high for my next stays that it will be difficult to match :) Well done to your team but specifically to "Prem" from the reception crew who made our stay much better with his customer service skills.

Located only a short walk from the Cathedral (albeit under a walkway that the council want you to believe is safer than crossing the road - presumably an idea that was come up with by a man!), its also close to a Waitrose and Tesco Metro. Checked in using self service, which is fine by me, but had to go back down to reception to get my WIFI code from a human being. It wasnt worth the trip, even the 'ultimate' wifi that you get with the premier room or pay for with ordinany room was very poor in the room itself, ok in restaurant. Bad signal and kept dropping out. Apart from the wifi it was all great, especially considering the price. Clean room, decent size, bath quite high to step into so get an accessible room if you have any difficulties in that respect. Breakfast was fine too. Enough choice to keep you going. I am an early bird, at 7am on a weekend its quiet.
