The best restaurants in Canterbury South East

Music is way too loud and everything is overpriced.

If you are doing a trip round Kent coast it's a good stop off point. Staff very welcoming. The room was comfortable and very clean. For an overnighter it's fine and breakfast was tasty and really nice cooked However, outdide of the rooms and reception it felt very dark and slightly abandoned. Little lighting outside of the rooms. Made me feel like they're waiting to sell and redevelop the site.

Relaxed pub with a friendly atmosphere. Our bartender was helpful in choosing a local beer on tap.

This is such a lovely pub. Food is great and the service is friendly. Spacious yet cosy, a beautiful garden and a great relaxed atmosphere.

Dreadful cod fish, over battered and dry, I think it was cooked twice. Too many small chips. Overpriced very disappointing after going there for years. Dreadful.

Good value Sunday lunch. Beer excellent and lovely location.

Great customer service but why large cod hardly fill me up as a boatmen. As always chips is what fill you not the fish as we going for the fish mainly 🫨

Silly boy didn’t ask if I wanted the chips closed or open. Decided to close them, then when I asked can I have them open he said “too late”. Bless his socks, was clearly having a bad day. Went back to ask him to open them. He did after some convincing. In an extremely sassy manner. Muttering under his breath. Even said “well you’re wrong, not me”. Whatever you say lad just serve me my food, I ordered fish and chips not waffle. Ps. Not enough salt.

lovely sea views and interior. However no drink prices displayed that we saw. Ordered two flat white coffees. Went to pay on way out and was charged £9.14. When I queried this price was told that their prices had gone up. We have coffee out regularly in and around London and have nether paid those prices!

Came in here as no football on the tv, sadly bar man decided to livestream the game on his phone, ruined atmosphere. When I spoke to the man he claimed to be the manager and continued to drink larger and was rude, passive aggressive and awful. Blamed customers for creating a bad atmosphere. Never again. None of the staff have any idea about customer service. If he's the manager drinking larger then who's responsible. Staff don't even know who owns the place. No apology from the sober staff. See other reviews and stay clear. This is the first negative thing I've ever put on a review. The guy needs sacked.

Katsu curry is finally back! 🙌 The portions are not as hearty as I remember, but I was happy with my katsu curry loaded fries

The service is really nice and open to small talk, the food is very good (my friends and I had mac-cheese, pancakes and avocado toasts). We had a fun time and the music in the background wasn't too loud or quiet. We really recommend this place •√•
