The best restaurants in Arun South East

The Moathouse Cafe is situated at the bottom end of Arundel, by the river Arun. Helpful and efficient staff work here and make you feel welcome. A very large selection of food is available. It is well cooked and presented. Eat in or take away is available, but it does get busy so seating can be a problem. Toilets are available upstairs.

So disappointed. I'm sure we've had great fish and chips here in the past but not this time. Our large fish was tiny and cold and the chips were like half cold oven chips. Exorbitant prices too.

We were shown to a seat then told to order at the bar. I had to queue for 20 minutes to order food. Lots of people chasing orders. The staff are understanding but The Diner has failed us twice. Last year they gave us our food extremely late. We gave them another chance this year but when it came to pudding, they gave it to someone else so we were late for our show.

Amazing food and service now PRIMO! Couldn’t recommend enough will definitely be coming back and encouraging family and Friends

Rustle is an absolute legend and the food is great ( really good service and staff ) got a free birthday treat for desert. Atmosphere is a 10/10, not too much noise and banging music in the background.

Mixed reviews by locals, but now closed down. No notice, no warning and owe some customers money from pre-paid gift vouchers. All staff let to at very short notice....

A lovely evening spent at the piccolo in Littlehampton with a group of friends with excellent food and service a good chat with our group the restaurant is able to deal with large groups well worth a visit.

First day we went as a family of 4 , the staff was lovely and the food was quick , second day we went , the waitress didn’t know what she was doing , had to pick our own table , finally when my husband ordered the food while standing in a line for 30 min sat down I took the kids to the playground , call him to swap me came back and our table was given away and our drink was taken away , had to argue with a blond waitress that we already ordered our food and that we literally left the table for 5 seconds , she was very rude and very unpleasant. Will not come to this restaurant ever again . Under staffed and very rude waitress

Portions reasonable - always tasty - good value for money - good service - nice location ( Shame ADC built the berlin wall outside so no river views anymore)

Ordered some food for collection and food took 30 minutes longer than advised. Staff seemed uninterested and unorganised. Food was reasonable, but nothing special and certainly not enough to warrant the long wait.

When my car broke down on the Shell forecourt, a few feet from Coastal Coffee I was offered a free coffee whilst waiting for the AA. A very thoughtful gesture which calmed me. Thank you. The best flat white ever.

We took our three grandchildren here a few days ago and ordered lunch. Every meal was unsatisfactory. The eggs Benedict were cold, and when returned to the kitchen were zapped in the microwave and returned to us with solid eggs. The beef burgers were so overcooked that even our hungry grandsons had trouble eating them. Our grandaughter chose pancaked which were blackened around the edges and generally unappetising. We didn’t want to make a fuss whilst the children were with us, but honestly how difficult was it to get it right?

Have been frequent visitors for some time and we enjoy everything about this cafe. Since they moved into the newer, larger cafe it’s so spacious and welcoming.The staff are lovely and friendly, even when it’s obviously a really busy day. Our grandchildren get recognised and engaged in conversation, which they love. The food is tasty and if you have a request, they always try to accommodate, where possible. They started doing evening events, such as comedians, singers, quizzes and rock & roll bingo. We went last night to rock & roll bingo and it was brilliant. I can totally recommend a visit if your in the area 😋❤️

My husband and I had a two night stay here, courtesy of our eldest son and daughter-in-law for our joint 60th birthdays. We didn't want to leave. The Pig in the South Downs is just perfect. We were spoilt with an upgraded room, a lovely glass of local sparkling wine and complimentary Piggy Fours. The room was just beautiful, the high quality feather pillows and duvet, the crisp white sheets, bath sheets that were actually a proper size and the lovely selection of teas just made everything so special. The restaurant and bar areas were thoughtfully furnished and decorated, the open fire was divine as was the food. But the absolute icing on the cake were the staff. I cannot fault them. They had clearly been trained well, were knowledgeable, attentive and friendly. The service was impeccable and on a very busy weekend, they just made our stay more special. Even the delightful chap who raked the gravel every day, was happy to stop for a chat! To top it all the sunshine was ordered for the whole weekend! I am positive we will be back.

Awful, rude Eastern European woman in the car park who came sprinting over and demanded £2 the moment we stopped then shouted abuse as we decided to leave. Avoid!
