Saw cafe appeared to be open at 8.30am - tables being placed outside and popped in hoping to us toilet facilities and buy a takeaway tea on way to osteopath appointment. Never had a problem here before - been a customer many times. Unfortunately the gentleman putting out tables was very unpleasant, saying I had ‘marched in to private property’. Fair enough, they weren’t open ( which I didn’t realise) but he was unnecessarily loud and ungracious, repeating the point over and over that he had bought the toilet facilities from the council and paid for them, including the toilet paper (!). As a 60 year old woman barely over 5ft, the reaction was excessively defensive and ungracious. I did thank the gentleman for his explanation but would never frequent this cafe again. Clearly there might be some resentment about having to allow public access to the facilities but this was an over-reaction to a member of the public popping in thinking they were open. It’s a real shame to encounter such rudeness a the other staff have been absolutely fine but courtesy costs nothing.

We come here often for breakfast! It’s fabulous, the food is excellent! I am not a lover of different sausages… however the ones served here are blooming delicious! The toast comes with proper butter and a choice of jam or marmalade in little pots. It’s a regular favourite of ours after a dog walk. I know a few people have said about the bread being white sliced but again, this is a really great breakfast at affordable prices! Unfortunately not tried them for anything else because we always have a breakfast! Love this place! Don’t change the sausages!!! X

So grateful to the wonderful team that run this cafe. I can’t believe they were open so much throughout the Christmas period, clearly they work really hard. We popped in a lot over the period for breakfast, two lunches and coffees after bracing walks on the beach. I was very glad of the time off cooking meals for family and guests. Food and coffee were good quality at very good prices. The range of food is excellent and despite being a family with various dietary requirements, we always find something that works for everyone. The kids love it in here. I really feel like this place is an essential part of the community and am really grateful to those who put in the long and busy hours to make it a lovely place to visit.

This recently refurbished cafe perhaps just needs to get into the swing of things but it was really disappointing today. Two windows to queue at but slow to be served. No longer waited at tables, people were confused; food was going cold on the counter as staff randomly shouted out orders interrupting conversations. In the end a customer kindly collected and delivered an order to an elderly customer outside. As for us, the coffee was bitter and the sausage roll soggy. We won't be hurrying back until they've had time to settle into good routines, train their staff and iron out a few issues in service.

I don’t like leaving bad reviews, but this really angered me. We decided to visit Mewsbrook cafe for a bit of brunch/lunch. We sat down in the new seating area and waited quite a while to be served and unfortunately others were being served before us even though we had been sat down a long while. It was relatively busy, but I didn’t think it would be too long of a wait. We ordered and we waited and waited and waited whilst others were getting their food before us even though they ordered after us. By this point my family including my special needs son, had had enough. We paid for our drinks and cancelled the food order to which no apologies were made and 1 lady in the back moaning that “right we are not doing breakfasts anymore” no sorry, just excuses. If you know there is going to be a wait for food, explain that to your customers rather than making them wait. I would have happily waited had it been 30 minutes, but we sat down at 12:40 and we left at 14:02, and our food wasn’t even being made and was in among a long list of other orders. What’s the point of renovating a cafe if the service isn’t improved? On a Sunday staff levels should be higher or you stop taking orders and focus on those waiting. We won’t be returning in a hurry.

Visited today with family, been here lots of times before and not had a problem but today was another story. Spent over £50 on food, drinks and ice-creams but one member of staff was very rude and sarcastic. We were midway eating our ice-creams when a different staff member asked us to vacate the tables as they were closing soon (10 minutes time). We left the tables and wandered over to the lake to finish our ice-creams. On our way back to the carpark, the rude staff member got in her car and instead of waiting for my mother who has mobility issues to finish crossing the path, she sped around her just inches away! My son who was with her shouted out to be careful and she replied with 'I know how to drive you f***ing prick'. I get that it may have been a long busy day and she just wanted to get home, but there was no need to be rude to polite paying customers or talk to my son in that way and then drive erratically nearly knocking my mother over, just so she could hurry on her way. Terrible way to behave and a disappointing ending to what was a nice family day out.

Been here loads of times to sit outside, after visiting the gym, meeting friends, or just chilling with my book. I've been a local for 28 years.Today was chilly and windy, and after sitting outside for a while we went inside (I've never been inside before), to order a further drink. As soon as we got through the door we were shouted at "put your masks on!" and you need to "check in". Gosh, we hadn't even put our coats, blanket and bags down! We were at a table near the door, and there was no-one else in the place (except the owner and mayor of Littlehampton!) who didn't have his mask on!) How are we supposed to eat and drink with a mask on! I understand totally the "CODID 19" thing, but flippin eck, we had literally walked through the door! My friend went to the hatch to order another drink (mask on) and were told we had to go outside to order! Even though the waitress brought the drinks through the hatch. What is that all about? Then I watched someone go to the toilet and went to go before we left, and was told that I couldn't use those toilets and to go outside to the park toilets! Surely if you are a eating establishment you are obliged to have toilets?Basically we felt very unwelcome and the girl was very rude. I understand rules but it was the way she spoke to us that was very unprofessional.

My wife and I went to the Mewsbrook Park Cafe in Littlehampton today. We had a toasted ham and cheese sandwiches which was okay, a portion of chips, coffee and tea. The bill came to £12.90 which I though was a little high. The chips we hard and on a few occasions undercooked. I suspect that they we cooked several times. What I didn’t like were the COVID-29 precautions. There was a table next to one of the serving areas, to get any condiments you had to get them at the counter out of normal bottles, rather than throw away away sachets. There was no queuing system to get to the counter, and it was difficult to social distance.I didn’t see anyone cleaning tables between people leaving and new people sitting down, it was a bit of a free for all.If you’re worried about COVID-19 I cannot recommend this cafe.

The conservatory was open, with a notice to register with staff using the outside serving hatch. My disabled husband sat in the conservatory while I was going to go outside to queue and register. We were shouted at through the internal hatch that we had to go outside to register. I asked if my husband could stay there whilst I registered, but was informed very curtly 'No'. As there was no where for my husband to sit while I queued we left. Last time we were there my sister was shouted at while just looking in to see if the toilets were open.

We visited today with our children, who both have coeliac disease. All of the staff were really friendly and accommodating and genuinely interested in helping us. The chef went out of her way to ensure everything ordered for our children was gluten free and that food preparation surfaces were wiped down so that the food was cooked avoiding cross contamination with gluten. As a result we had a lovely family lunch which we all really enjoyed, especially the children. They had GF sausages, bacon, egg and baked beans. It’s such a breath of fresh air to visit an establishment that wanted to do as much as possible to provide our children with suitable food and where their medical needs were taken seriously. All this, whilst they were extremely busy and could have easily turned us away. Thank you so much

A visit today left me compelled to join tripadviser and write a review, especially as the cafe displayed a certificate of excellence from this site! It was a very disappointing visit. There was no warm welcome, ordering was a chore, the server didn't know what the quiche of the day was and was left confused when asked if the salad with a burger could either be omitted or plated separately. In the end this was accommodated after intervention by the same lady who had to check the servers adding up. It turns out his first attempt was just the £6 out.

We sat down and was served straight away, the food didn't take long to come out at all and the value for money was really good. I will definitely be popping back when I visit next

Went to visit mewsbrook park today to feed the ducks with my little girl. Felt a bit peckish so decided to check out the cafe which is located in the park grounds. They had a special on today of chili con carne with jacket potatoe. The nicest chili I have had for a long time homemade and delicious tasting, lovely friendly staff and a pleasure to visit. Would recommend highly to anyone who would like a lovely chilled lunch in a relaxed setting. Will be looking forward to visiting again for their food. Good job done by all the staff. Thank you .

Called in with grandson for lunch. We had sandwiches and salad. The serving was so large couldn't eat it all. Would have liked a smaller option and price wise although good value for money as we could have shared. The service was quick, lovely conservatory to sit in and nice artwork on the walls to enjoy. There is also outside seating and an iceream counter.

Great for a quick snack and excellent ice cream. In the summer you can eat alfresco if the weather's good, but there is a sun lounge when inclement.

Great place to stop and re-charge the batteries if out for a stroll along the promenade or round the park. Freshly prepared food which looked great, although we only had drinks. Drinks reasonably priced as was the food. Quick service and friendly staff.

We make a point of coming here regularly during the summer, to get a couple of scoops of their fabulously delicious ice-cream, and take it to the beach (only 150 yards away) to watch the wind- and para-surfers. The tea and coffee is good too!

Always pop in here after swimming with my daughter....for coffee, ice cream or chips. They have a very varied menu and portion sizes very good. Staff friendly and efficient. Lovely inside and outside area to enjoy the park whilst having your refreshments. You can buy duck food here and there is always a bowl of water for your dog.outside.

Visited yesterday for lunch, I was absolutely appalled by the attitude of the man who appeared to be in charge. He was incredibly rude to to a young girl staff member and made her cry. This was totally unnecessary and bad practise in front of the public. I wish I had stood up to him but was worried he would take it out on her. This was not the first time I have seen him being churlish with staff and customers, we will not be returning which is a shame because the women staff are lovely.

We stopped here for a drink after walking along the promenade and beach with our dog. There is a good seating area outside and also a restaurant/cafe area inside although we didn't use the inside as we had our dog with us. We ordered 2 coffees and a slush puppy which came to around £6, so not too pricey. The service was OK and the place clean and tidy with a large grassed area for picnics. You can also buy duck food here for 50 pence and dog a biscuit for 30 pence. There are toilets as well to the side which are free and very well kept.

Called into this cafe for a coffee with my husband after a bracing walk along Littlehampton seafront. Friendly efficient service and nice to sit at a table outside and enjoy the scenery of lovely Mewsbrook Park. Although ŵe did not purchase food there, the menu seemed quite varied and reasonably priced. A good place to stop for refreshments.

I visited the cafe on a Sunday it was very busy so I could appreciate the food would take longer to arrive, we had full English breakfasts which were generous servings, we were however disappointed with the food which had been just piled on the plate, the egg was hard the toast not even slightly toasted and was swimming in too much tinned tomato juice which made it soggy. Unfortunately even the tea and coffee was poor as the water I don't think had been boiled properly and had a white film on top of the drinks, we had to clear the table of dirty crockery ourselves and other tables were left with dirty crockery, great shame as it is a lovely location.

Jim used to run the cafe in Middleton-on-Sea which is sorely missed, so we decided to see how he was getting on at no.72. - Very well with Sarah still there, and a nice lady called Caroline who was on trial for the day. I hope she stays because she wasn't nervous at all d served the perfect large mug of tea. Our lunches were perfect too. I chatted with other customers who were really friendly. Thanks Jim - so good to see you again xx

Katie and I came here with a small family group for a spot of lunch in the sun. Great welcome, friendly staff and good food. Beer a bit expensive but there's a wide variety on offer. Overall a great afternoon and we'll return for sure.

Outstanding eatery for a good selection of beautifully crafted bagels with great service and even better coffee. A hidden gem in Arundel and perfect for brunch whilst out on the SDW.

My espresso was excellent, good balanced flavour with hints of chocolate on the after taste. Service was a bit slow but it was lunchtime on a Saturday.
