The quality of the food served I found very good. 😋

Amazing range of sandwich fillings, in either Granary or white bread, served with bitesize side salad and handful of crisps, truly DELICIOUS. Ideal corner plot next to the River.

We had our cream tea there. The scones and jam were very tasty, but the clotted cream was very limited. There could have been one more potty per person. The tea wasn't quite enough for 2 small cups either. Charging almost 8 pounds for a cream tea is quite a price.

I paid≈£16 for takeaway on two roast beef sandwiches and two side salads that I could have easily done better at home. I have a severe tree nut allergy and a gluten sensitivity so my sandwich had to be made accordingly. The bread came completely untoasted, the portion of beef was stingy, and there was to much horseradish sauce which was over salted. For my friend, I ordered a regular roast beef sandwich with the addition of red onion and white cheddar. The bread came untoasted, stingy portion of beef, too much horseradish sauce, and powdery, unmelted, preshredded cheese. The side salads were basic. Any capable person could make a better sandwich at home with minimal effort.

The big attraction is the pavement tables outside, close to the riverside. A lovely stop off on a sunny day, so tables go quickly. We thought it a strange name. The sandwiches should be edible, should they not? Also, if you are going to spotlight your sandwiches in your title, then they should surely be the best? They are OK, but not outstanding. Table service now, which adds to the waiting time. Friendly girls help out.

Sat outside for ages being ignored, not happy. Would not visit again. Staff not too friendly with anyone, order straight away or they don't come back.

Very freshly cooked and prepared food. Prompt and friendly service. Great quality food. Not a local but ill be certainly looking this place up again if I come to Arundel.

My husband and I booked a trip to Arundel for our wedding anniversary and decided to pop to a cafe after going to Arundel castle. This was the first one that popped up and had good reviews. Lovely location, despite the rubbish weather on the day. I went for the eggs royale , which after asking the staff they mentioned they don’t normally do breakfast in the day as it can get very busy, luckily it wasn’t busy when we went! I also had an iced latte which they kindly gave me a takeaway cup as I couldn’t finish it all. I wish I had some loose change to give a tip as the staff were lovely. From working in a cafe myself I know how stressful it can be but there was a lovely atmosphere in the cafe. Highly recommend!

We arrived at peak time, most of the tables full but they found a spare chair and happily made room for us on the sun-drenched patio. Good food (Ploughman’s Platter and the Smashed Avo with Scrambled Eggs), nice banter with the staff and an excellent location. We enjoyed it so much that we came back for Scones and Tea, arriving shortly before they closed. Phew - because the scones were fresh and delish and we’re glad we didn’t miss out.

Not impressed, this is the second time I've had a take away coffee and the cup has leaked within minutes. By the time I was nearly finished cup was soggy. Food is good

Very accommodating staff and delicious light lunch options. On the river with outside seating and limited inside seating. We started off outside on a sunny but cold day. They offered us blankets which we accepted and as soon as a table came free they moved us inside. All the staff were lovely. Recommend 👍

Normally, we have a cooked breakfast when we visit Arundel. Today was different as we just wanted a beverage. Walked in and sat at a table, no interaction or acknowledgement from the serving staff. The table was dirty from the previous customer. Then someone came over, but we asked for a few more minutes to make our choice. It was then a long wait while other customers came in and placed their orders. One of the waitresses filled a bowl of water for a dog and took it outside before petting the animal. She returned inside but did not wash her hands before serving others. We were fed up waiting and, after a further 12 minutes, we left. Disappointed, especially as this establishment has been awarded a 5 star hygiene rating.

Very friendly staff and lots of options to choose from. If you're gluten free you can have toasties or sandwiches (not the panini).

My order was taken after quite a long wait. At the time I was not informed that there was a 30mins wait. I could see that all the food was freshly prepared which is great but the organisation was non existent.

we ordered cheese and onion toastie with cappuccino and food was really tasty. Also, we managed to get a seat outside which was nice as it was sunny. Good service overall!

Had a latte and Eggs Royale. Latte was warmish at best and Eggs Royale (muffin, hollandaise, poached Eggs, smoked salmon) was cold. As you can imagine the sauce with the poached eggs etc being cold was deeply unpleasant. So fed up walked around the corner to Lulamae cafe which is fab. Fab latte and went for toast and marmalade. The marmalade is home made by the owner.

Visited yesterday, shame weather not good as we could have sat by the river for lunch, lovely location in Arundel . Lovely people managed to seat 8 , all food freshly prepared & delicious, very comfortable & relaxing cafe to visit, highly recommend.

Went here 5 years ago while on holiday from Australia. Nothing was to much for these guys. We back again so we become locals for the next 6 weeks

Great little place, friendly staff. Myself and a couple of friends arrive late on Saturday for a hot drink and cake. They were in the process of closing but couldn't have been more friendly or accommodating. The tall gentleman was very good natured and made us smile.

Seems a nice enough cafe until you sit inside and see the poor hand hygiene going on in the kitchen… watched zero hand washing going on in this place whilst the same person who prepares the food goes in and out of the premises with the finished food and then touching other things then straight back into the kitchen handling food again - with no hand washing in between! Would avoid if you want to make sure you don’t get food poisoning from this place. Shocking.

Small cafe down by the Riverside , impromptu visit as cafe we wanted to visit was not open ... ....good news for us as food was well cooked and tasty , polite staff take your order at the table.

We sat outside beside the river and enjoyed friendly efficient service and had fantastic,freshly prepared and well presented chicken,Brie and avocado sandwich. A great place to sit and watch the world go by.

Very welcoming staff. We did have to wait 30 minutes after our order was taken for two sandwiches for which we received an apology. However, the egg and crispy bacon sandwich was well worth the wait, just superb.

What a wonderful eatery. Lovely, welcoming hosts, made to feel like nothing was too much trouble. Fantastic quality breakfast - we enjoyed the avocado special with scrambled eggs, smashed avocado on sourdough toast, sausage and poached egg breakfast muffin, plain porridge. The larger breakfasts came with beautifully warmed cherry tomatoes- 6 on the vine! Coffees great and the strawberry and mango milkshakes superb. Riverside location. Outdoor seating. Clean.

It was just twenty minutes to closing but we were welcomed, cheerfully served with good coffee and delicious toasted teacakes. Even as they tidied up we felt under no pressure to go. Lovely staff,good food and drink and a wonderful position on the riverbank. Go if you can,especially if you are waiting for your coach or bus to go!

Molto buoi i cappuccini , il locale è una buona posizione vicino al fiume. Il personale è gentile ma fa un po’ di confusione nel ricevere le ordinazioni . La cameriera è tornata due volte per chiedervi cosa desideravamo 🤷 però nel complesso ci siamo trovati bene.

Always excellent sitting next to the River Arun with the spectacular Arundel Castle as your backdrop. Perfect. Delicious Coronation chicken sandwich and very good coffee as I stopped by on my bike ride. Friendly professional service.

I've been visiting this cafe overlooking the river for many years. Infact it became my 1st choice after my 2nd visit way back when 😊👍. Always a friendly welcome & specials with a twist 👍... Until next time..😊😊

Waiting over 30 mins. Four waiters but they didn’t seem to cope as we waited for our food. It wasn’t even that busy. Heavy use of microwaves!! Others were served before us too. I asked the waitress and she apologised as they made a mistake with the order? Offered the food for free as a good will gesture. Very polite and nice people, just didn’t get it right this time. Ham and cheese toastie not that good either. Certainly not worth the price or wait. Sorry, just being honest here.

Went in today ask for a pawn baguette and just got home to find it's a tuna. I mean how hard was it when I'm sat there waiting. Totally waste of money as couldn't eat it. Great

We visited this cafe whilst wondering around in arundel I had a cream tea and my partner had the spicy tomato and pepper soup we both really enjoyed it . They have lots of selection of sandwiches hot foods and drinks . The staff were all very friendly and attentive defiantly will return

Delicious honey ham sandwich in the freshest granary bread I've ever eaten and came out with salad garnish and some crisps. Very good service that's table service outside too. Would recommend.

We went to the Edible Sandwich Co for lunch. It was very busy but managed to get a table. We had coffee and toasted sandwiches. Had to wait about 30 minutes for the food but they did warn us about the wait before ordering. Staff were friendly and the prices reasonable.

Good service. Ok-ish coffee (but lukewarm). The Victoria sponge cake was from yesterdays. A single bite was enough. Not good.

We were seated very quickly and someone took our order, cream tea, two panini’s, coffee etc. The cream tea and coffee came promptly, but we waited over half an hour for the panini’s to come, when we went in to query where they were the waiting staff denied that the panini’s were even ordered.. Sorry edible sandwich but we probably won’t be back, in the end we found lunch in a lovely bagel cafe 50yards further down the road, with a warm welcome and prompt and correct service.

Excellent keen and organised young staff, who went out of their way to assist us. Very enjoyable cakes and savoury items for me. Lovely to sit out in the sun, although the wasps had the same idea. Nice to be in the centre of the town - by the rivers edge. Good value nice place.

Food and coffee really nice, and fairly priced. It's not a fast food outlet so be prepared for a short wait. Staff really pleasant, and the location is nice, overlooking the river.

The breakfast was fantastic and the sandwiches were indeed edible! Lovely service and a lovely soya latte, I must say. Would come back.

Central location beside the river with ample outdoor seating. Large breakfast menu and sandwiches / jacket potatoes for lunch. Service was polite and prompt. Having sat inside where you can see in to the kitchen, we felt hygine standards could be improved. Staff didn't wear hair nets or wash their hands frequently (e.g. after wiping their noses or scratching heads). Despite the off putting hygine, the food was tasty and good value for money.

Poor vegan options and dish water coffee served in those tall glass mugs, don’t bother.

Tasteless sandwich & panini but Coffee great and staff nice and friendly though. The wholemeal bread was dry and tasteless and the panini flat and small. £14 for a coronation chicken sandwich, tuna melt panini (with sweetcorn even though we said we didn’t want it) and 2 cappuccinos. Don’t often post a poor review but for £14 it should have tasted a lot better all round!

The Edible Sandwich Company is a cafe which is situated in River Road the centre of Arundel, next to the river. It offers an excellent selection of breakfasts, sandwiches, cakes, ploughman’s, jacket potatoes etc. etc. As well as all of this there is a large selection of teas, coffees, juices etc. The seating outside, is very pleasant as you can sit in the sunshine, by the riverside and watch the world go by. The service was good and the shop was very clean.

We sat outside, next to the riverside. Waitress service, lovely lattés and warm cheese scones we delightful. Very friendly staff.

If you want a great coffee and cake look no further. This is a little gem in Arundel wonderful food great breakfasts at a really good price. It is lovely and clean and the staff are really friendly will definitely be going back there when next in Arundel.

The perfect place to have a breakfast before going up to the castle. The location is beautiful with views of the river, plenty of outdoor seating and friendly staff. We had two standard breakfasts, the poached eggs were the best we've ever had, we will definitely be back!

The food was cooked to order and we didn't have to wait long. We had the standard breakfast 2 days and liked the fact they used local ingredients. Felt that the food was fairly priced for what we had. Premises clean and always cleaned after customers left. Staff friendly. All in all a fantastic start to our day out and about in Arundel. Will definitely visit again if in the area.

Nice location by river but watch out for the wasps. Service a bit slow but ok. We ordered 4 cream teas. Agreed with waiter that one tea would be a coffee and one a soft drink. After 5 minutes told not enough scones and we could swop out for tea cakes or sponges. 3pm so bit of a surprise but ok. When the bill came we had to send it back as it was massive because they had charged us for the cream teas plus all of the things the swapped things too! Even the things they didn't have. Resolved but a bit disappointing tbh. Also smoking permitted at outside tables whilst others eating - not great.

Food and coffee was ok but nothing special. Business was steady but not manic but staff did everything behind the counter at a snails pace which resulted in lengthy and unnecessary long waiting times.
