Very nice roast lots of veggies. I use venue quite often, the time of day you visit can make a vast difference to quality of food. My visit this time was very nice.

Mandy runs a tight ship at Bognor Regis! First time I’ve been there when the service was better than the food……. And it was heaving!

Great food. Service was exceptional even though it was very busy.

I visit the Charlie Purley regularly and they never fail to impress. Excellent atmosphere, amazing staff and beautiful food. Definitely recommend!! Amazing restaurant to eat at and will definitely be returning soon!

Arrived and taken straight to our seats,had an amazing pint of San Miguel and a purple rain cocktail for my wife. Went for the carvery,the beef melted in the mouth and the gammon was so tasty. Roast pots,parsnips and carrots with a fresh Yorkie and stuffing all superb. Can’t wait to try again very happy with all and the price.

Unfortunately it took over 30 mins for our starter to arrive, then the main course arrived just as we finished our starter. Secondly, no one stopped young children running around the restaurant. Not only was this action spoiling the meal for my wife and I it was also dangerous as the staff were trying to deliver trays of food and could have been run into.

Amazing service very warm kind staff!! Cowboy burger was delicious we will definitely be back!! The sticky toffee pudding is so warming and full of flavour it is definitely my favourite dessert!

A waiter refused to wipe our table before we sat and ignore our request for him to do so, terrible service overall. We also had dirty glasses when asking for water and our table was not appropriate for our party size and the food took a large amount of time to arrive and the menu was of poor quality.

Carvery very uninspiring..it was a late afternoon so not many people about. The carvery was probably busy at lunchtime so hadn't been topped up. It looked nice and Christmas inside that's a plus point .

We came for a carvery and it was delicious. Loving the new veg. We are also so happy we can bring our dog with us. The place is always busy the staff are always happy even when there running around. There always helpful with helping you get your carvery I do struggle but the manger helped me get it and take it to the table. Well done

great service today! we really enjoyed the carvery and even had a cocktail in their beautiful pub garden, the staff couldn’t do enough for us and we were amazed at the value for money for such great food!

Lovely service and great food! Was greeted by the lovely staff and had chosen the carvery. Was the nicest carvery I’ve had before.the potatoes were perfect, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside😍. The meat was cooked perfectly and the veg was banging. Highly Recommended for all ages looking for a swift and welcoming service with a filling and tasty dinner!!!!

Very friendly staff & landlady very dog friendly lovely atmosphere a closed garden area outside for dogs & children on astroturf. Food was lovely & very reasonably priced. My 2 fur babies felt very loved & spoilt.

Lovely pub very good food especially carvery

Service was very slow as chef get disappearing to get things. The food was the worst it has ever been as I have been many times before. All the veg were completely dried out as was the stuffing and the roast potatoes looked anaemic! Price has gone up too. Very, very disappointed.

The carvery vegetables had been on the deck for some long time. The roast potatoes were very dry and other items very soft, over cooked. The meat was delicious. There was only vegetarian gravy, which was tasteless. There were hot, heavy lids on the pots which were difficult to remove and no clothes to protect your hands, to top up on vegetables. The seating area was brightly lit, cold and stark, not inviting. Other guests with loud, undisciplined children sat near us and their noise and behaviour made conversation very difficult as did the noise of the children in the play area. We were sat near the carvery deck as my friend had restricted mobility but left ASAP due to the disruptions.

We had to wait a while until we could go to the carvery, but meat was nice and fresh, some of the vegetables and gravy needed replenishing, but when asked they were topped up. Overall a very nice roast dinner.

First time in here, very nice carvery all warm and fresh.

I came here for dinner and the staff were very pleasant, Mandy in particular was very helpful when taking our order. The carvery was lovely with a wide selection of vegetables.

We had a wonderful experience today. We was served by Paige and she was very friendly and helpful at the bar. She then come and cleared away our plates after. Also I think it was the manager at the front while waiting for our table was amazing, talked us through the Christmas activities that was coming up and being very helpful

Down from London on holiday, we visited this week for dinner and unfortunately it wasn’t a good experience. Unfriendly staff, carvery procedure not explained and poor quality food. The potatoes were more boiled than roasted and the meat was dry. Very disappointing.

The service was terrible! Me and my family ordered the mega grill and waited 40 minutes only to be told that our food was given to the wrong table and had to wait a further hour for the same meal. We were treated to a free round of drinks for our wait but we were still annoyed. The steak was rubbery and impossible to cut, there's no waiter to take our order or serve us drinks, they're understaffed massively.

Andy was super friendly and fixed an issue I had with a drink super quick and efficient. Lovely meal. Thanks

Gone downhill since table service went. It's such a shame.

First impressions count a lot, and my first impressions of this place were not good. We were shown to a table where the fabric seats were stained by so many liquid spills that we just couldn't face sitting on these, they were disgusting. We then realised that the tables were also very sticky, we asked a staff member if they could be cleaned, the staff member was very polite and explained that it was down to the antibacterial solution. After they walked away, we wiped the table down with a paper napkin, it soon became brown with accumulated filth. Had we not been with other people I'd have left at that point. This pub needs a deep clean. The food was the only highlight.

Had a fab family meal, staff are great and attentive and daniella couldn't do enough for you, shes bloody lovley. Will definitely be back again soon.

Lovely little layout. Plenty of parking space. Loved the aspect of QR code order to the table. Kids area was very handy and tucked away. Kids menu prices were very reasonable. Meat was ok on the carvery but was probably due a 'restock' as not very appealing joints were left (next to no turkey left), tasted very salty however. Potatoes were good, nice selection of roasted and boiled/steamed veg. Nice selection of other sides - stuffing, cauliflower cheese, potato gratin etc. gravy needed to be refilled and I was unaware if out of the 2 - one was normal gravy and the other being vegetarian gravy as it was not labeled next to each gravy pot. All in all we had a good experience, definitely room for improvement however we would definitely go again as it is a luxury for my family to eat out as a whole.. Thank you

Absolutely fantastic place, Staff, Service, Food are amazing. We had a Family meet up with several generations of the Family to celebrate my Mother’s 80th Birthday and we were thrilled with the time we spent at the Charley Purley. My Mother felt the venue was just perfect. 5 Star ***** Would Highly recommend A+++

There with group of 40 ,staff coped really well ,food came out while me and others went up for our carvery. Only moan I have was the beef was very tough and bit hard to chew, would like a few more opinions on veg please 🙏

General cleanliness of table bad, food ok although carvery had very few vegetables

Came in with a booked group, took 15 minutes to get us seated even though we made reservations. Staff seemed nice but very inexperienced. Food came out piece meal with kids meals (witch in my opinion should.come out first) came out in random order. My food although nice was warm at best and tasted as if it had been under a heat lamp for a while. Throughout the evening we had waiting staff come over with items no one ordered and seemed as if they didn't know the layout of their own restaurant.

Service at the bar was slow as too few staff. Then order was taken quickly & payment was simple. Long (nearly 1/2 hour) wait for starter which was a laughably small portion for £5.99 - will know in future to never have a starter here! About as long a wait for the main - this is an issue as body starts to assume food is finished & so one loses appetite! When mains arrive, thought at first we'd been given the children's sized meals as small plates & portions. Didn't notice at first, but one meal was missing grilled tomatoes as listed on menu - no mention from staff about this, so can only assume was forgotten. Food was well prepared, although obviously not the peas as they never are (always harder, squarer, whiter & colder than one would prefer). Tables 'sticky' but suspect this is down to whatever they use to clean them. Can say though, the chairs were very comfortable & whilst waiting noticed the QR code option to order by phone, without going to the bar - will try that next time. We always give a restaurant at least 2 goes to see how they perform & I think you deserve one more try to see if there's improvement.

My glass of water was warm as was my food unfortunately The waitress apologised on multiple occasions but it has made me think twice about revisiting

Everything was perfect from the service to the food quality the only thing that could be improved and it's a real nit pick is making sure the pigs in blankets aren't overcooked as they unfortunately were on my last visit, however this will not deter me from future visits.

My experience at the Charlie Purley was sensational. The service was very quick and the food was great, the staff are friendly and speak with good manners. I definitely recommend to anyone in the Bognor area.

Odd pub, staff are useless, stood at bar for 15 minutes with any random person being served over any form of que, over priced beer, poor service to table, wouldn't recommend this pub for anything.

Lovely carvery. Really good meats. Veg looked like it had been sat out for a while. Great service from the bar team, very friendly and accommodating.

When ordering food we were asked if we wanted pigs in blankets, which were not already cooked, when they did arrive (over 30 mins), they were so undercooked i wouldnt even feed it to my dogs. The cavery service area was messy, burnt potatoes, lack of vegetables. I asked if I could have some pork scrachings which were on the side, only to be told "they are only for show". Absolutely awful place! Most definitely wont go back there! Waste of money, awful food.

Meet and greet not in place so found own table then moved. Purchase of food on app - waited over 10mins for drinks and food tickets even though staff had not been busy and cleaning / taking breaks was easily noticeable. When finally got food vegetables had been almost raw. Not cooked properly. Other than that food was ok but not worth the money.

Me and my niece love charlie purley , let me list out what i like about Charlie Purley . 1 . Dog Friendly and on the entrance the staff put dog bowl and water and treat for furry. 2 Service always good , staff friendly 3. food always yummy 4. Cost living crisis Charlie Purley always does the offer is really help and family's can enjoy family dinner out or other gathering.

We were a party of 13 and we had a very pleasant visit. We really liked the fact the order was taken at the table. We had one slight problem when one of the dishes came out was incorrect but it was sorted quickly and without any fuss.

Very good, courteous and helpful service. Excellent - especially Mandy. We will definitely return.

My first visit. The food was good apart from a baguette my granddaughter ordered as it came out burnt and she had to wait another 15 minutes for it

Friendly staff and very prompt service, also dog friendly which is great! Toilets are also clean and there's lots of space for seating for big groups :)

I had a great experience, servers were really friendly and the food was great. I stopped visiting over a year ago because I am vegan and didn't find the options great but there were some amazing options this time and I really enjoyed it. The vegan chicken strips were the best I've ever tasted and the sour cream style sauce was divine. The Thai red curry was sensational but very spicy so beware! The chocolate banoffee cream tart completed the meal and was delicious.

Came here for lunch with my mum and my 2 boys. The wait for food was over an hour...though it was quiet. The food was unbelievably awful and although the management did reimburse us it's just not somewhere I would recommend on food alone.

It was a long wait for food even though not busy but when it arrived was very tasty and delicious. Also had Whitley Neal gin which was a bonus

Andy and Paige went above and beyond here. Our visit wasn’t without its problems but Paige acknowledged our difficulties before we even needed to raise it officially and she swiftly sent Andy over to check on us and find the solution to a problem that would have led to a complaint had it not been for Paige’s foresight, great team effort from this pair. As an employer myself I would be very happy to have these 2 hard working professionals on my side. Very happy with the service and food is good value too. Recommended.

waited over an hour for a carvery, just to be told that i could have gone up five minutes after ordering - but wasn’t told.

waited 20 minutes for drinks and an hour to be told to go up to the carvery while people who order after we’re served much quicker.

We had a great evening. Especially perfect if you have a family with small people and dogs. Lovely little area to keep the children occupied.

Good food at a good price and excellent service.

We stopped here for a carvery on Sunday. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the restaurant is spacious and quite clean however the carvery wasn't very warm and some of the root veg was quite hard and undercooked.

A fabulous meal with lovely staff. Fully dog friendly, they even had bowls and bottles of water available alongside a bowl of treats for the four-legged visitors! Highly recommended.

We came last year as its half way between us and friends. We were very in prest last year so went back. I'm glad to say it is just as good if not better. Service, food and cleanliness are all excellent. Well done to the management and staff.

Food good, service not so good. There was a lady GM running the show for a long time, it would appear she's gone because it wasnt like this before and she ran it well. You order at the bar now, I asked for my food altogether, it came seperate, no cutlery I had to ask, no napkins, server did not ask if we wanted any sauces/salt no check back. Place was empty so no excuses really.

On Wednesday, the 25th September 2024 around 5 pm, the food was okay, and it was good value for money. My friend had the carvery and I had the curry special which was served with a super soft naan bread. I paid for my curry 🍛 just over £12 and this included an alcoholic drink. The place and toilets appeared fairly clean and it wasn't too busy. The staff were polite and friendly.....however service was slow. Overall not bad.

Visited for their monthly bingo evening and took advantage of the 30% off leaflet that was delivered through my door. Food was great as were the staff. The bingo night had an amazing atmosphere and was hosted by a lovely gentleman named Simon and the manager. The entire evening was fun and was enjoyed by our entire table and by the looks of it, the entire restaurant. Have already booked for the next event! Highly recommend for a great evening out.

I want to say thank you being one of the few places that caters for people with allergies from onion (low Fodmap), to gluten free. Also, Louie was fantastic, best customer service I've ever experienced. Thanks Louie at Bognor.

The place had some amazing food which was good for money and left me and my partner extremely satisfied. Whoever the chef was knows their craft and is very commendable. Will definitely be back!
