Last minute decide after a trip out, service good at the bar, had carvery which was lovely and hot. Been before and had burgers, they're so good.

We always enjoy our visits. The staff are extremely welcoming and friendly and make us feel at home. Carvery was tasty and hot, we cannot fault it at all. The main menu has lots of different options to choose from. Pricing of the dishes are extremely competitive considering the portion sizes. We eat out at many different establishments however, The Charlie Purley is our number one choice.

We come most Sundays as we love the carvery the meat is done perfect and the staff are so friendly. My mum can’t walk far and they always an accommodate for us so she doesn’t have to walk far. Best place for a carvery in the area. Highly recommend

We had food here over the weekend and it was great and the service was so quick even though it was busy really enjoyed it will be back

Have been their a lot recently but carvery always dried and told meat sold out except one dried up meat , when spoke to staff was told area manager will not let them order the meat, after looking at reviews on here people have moaned b4 about carvery and still nothing done

Fab food and wonderful staff - we love it here

We visited with elderly relatives who had mobility issues. The staff were extremely accommodating, even taking a smaller table out of service so we had room for the wheelchair and walker. Anthony made sure we were fully aware of all the promotions available on the day. The only small thing was as it wasn't a busy time of day the carvery wasn't permanently staffed and there was no way to let the kitchen know we were waiting. Possibly benefit from a bell or similar to alert the kitchen during quieter service times.

My favourite pub! The food is always great and the staff are super helpful. Would recommend!

Lovely food, especially the carvery on a Sunday, homemade roast potatoes and not frozen! Staff are friendly and kids also enjoy the food.

Food was really good quality and reasonably priced. Great flavour and a good range on the menu. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. Very dog friendly with a table of treats and water bowls at the entrance. Definately recommended

Mum dad and I had the carvery. It was disappointing. The entire meal was luke warm, the potatoes were burnt on the outside and rather leathery as if they had been reheated. The vegetables tasted like they had been reheated as well. We arrived at 1230 hoping for a fresh cooked meal and it was far from that. My parents have eaten other food from the menu before which wasn’t disappointing however the carvery has disappointed them for a second time. They won’t attempt the carvery a third time.

I had a meal here with my family and I was served by Grace and the service was amazing as well as the food. I had a chicken kebab which was prestine. I will be returning. Thank you

A very enjoyable experience. we had the carvery as we always do. The meat, on this occasion beef, was absolutely succulent and melt in the mouth. There was a lovely choice of vegetables and the creamy cauliflower was yummy. the staff were very polite and friendly and made sure that our visit was enjoyable. definitely a 10 out of 10 experience

Me and my family came here for my brothers birthday meal and despite us not booking Mandy managed to find us a table and seat us. Grace served us and she was excellent very well mannered and quick. A lovely young man called dylan was behind the bar serving us drinks and he made them to perfection! All in all 10/10 75th birthday meal for my little brother. 1000% recommend this place.

the food was absolutely delightful, i came with my granddaughter, we treated her to a lovely southern fried chicken burger, the portion was generous, myself and my husband enjoyed the delicious carvery. we found room for puddings of course! my granddaughter had the special oreo sundae and i enjoyed the chocolate orange brownie! overall, a great visit, served by great staff and a warm and welcoming atmosphere- we will be back, thank you team

I came in with my family and the service was great from the start. The food was great and we all had a great time would definitely recommend for some cheap food and fun for the whole family.

My partner and I came for a Sunday afternoon carvery, it was delicious, good choice of meat and vegetables!! Would recommend the carvery 100% Service was amazing!!

Popped in Tuesday lunchtime at 1pm , the carvery was not up to it's usual standard , the gammon was burnt and very dry , turkey was dry also . Roast potatoes were hard outside the sweede was mixed with chunks of carrots (there were carrots separate also) . All in all not a very nice carvery . We used to come in at least once a week and the standard of the carvery has dropped considerably. Be coming in again but definitely not having the carvery

We had not been for a while as we have been very disappointed in the quality of the carvery so we thought we would try again. Sad to say nothing has changed. The menu says that having a large platemeans getting an extra slice of meat and extra crispy potatoes. We had to ask for the extra meat. The server said the meat just looked less as it was on a larger plate than the medium, but the number of slices was the same as the medium and one "slice" was a small sliver. The menu said "extra crispy potatoes" for the large plate but there were not any, just the same as the ones you help yourself to, and they were not crispy at all. The manager said that the "extra" was referring to the fact that someone with a large plate can go back for more veg if they wished but, if this is the case, the menu is misleading as it only refers to the potatoes therefore it must mean that there are potatoes available that are more crispy for those with a large plate. The Yorkshire puddings were awful. Not freshly cooked, not crispy but very soft and rubbery and hard to tear apart, let alone cut. They had every appearance of being old.

Been to Charlie purley a few times and couldn’t say a bad word, everything always perfect, best fish and chips around😊

We received a warm welcome and shown straight to our table, the servers we very plesent and attentive, we were served quickly, very please with the whole experience

Service slow. Food not good. Fish soggy and lots of greasy oil came out of it onto the chips. Couldn't eat the chips...

Very nice roast lots of veggies. I use venue quite often, the time of day you visit can make a vast difference to quality of food. My visit this time was very nice.

Sadly this establishment seems to have gone downhill, at least as far as the carvery is concerned. We stood at the carvery counter for some time before being served. There was very little meat left and what was left was dried up. The vegetables were lukewarm and only just edible. We were very disappointed as it was a birthday meal for my husband and the evening was rather spoiled by this. It was only 6pm do one would think that this would be a prime time for meals. We will probably not be visiting again.

Sunday carvery was incredible. Great meat portions and hot veg. Me and my family did not book but staff managed to find us a table and we was very well looked after.

Another perfect meal for two at the Charley…. Nothing short of exceptional. Food was delicious, and well presented, always greeted with a warm welcome and such friendly service. Food is always lovely, and it such a vibrant atmosphere. Wouldn’t go anywhere else, highly recommend. If you havent been you got to!

Popped in after a shopping trip for some lunch. The blonde lady behind the bar (maybe manager) was really friendly and very accommodating and welcoming. This was a new place to us, she told us about ordering we chose to order through the app. Great delivery great service and the lunch fish and chips was delicious

I visited the Charlie Purley on Monday 17th Feb. After having another lovely lunch with some friends to which has become a regular routine. On putting on my coatl I wasn't aware that my wallet had fallen out of my pocket and gone under the table. I didn't miss my wallet till the morning. I received a phone call from Anthony the manager telling me that it had been found. It restored my confidence in people that can do that sort of thing. WELL DONE ANTHONY AND A HUGE THANKYOU.

Staff are very welcome and helpful. Great location and easy to find. You can order from the table via QR code, food came out quickly and very hot.

We have been to the Charlie Purley restaurant before & found The restaurant very clean. The cavarly is Always very nice food. The Charlie Purley staff really bent over backwards to help their customers today on Christmas Day. But sadly I have never had to complain about the Charlie Purley restaurant cavarly food before. But To be totally honest with you the Christmas meals At the cavalry wasn't up to the standard we are used to also the chef's working on the cavalry food looked like they both had been drinking loads last night. As the food was disgusting.

Sunday lunch at Charley Purley with 3 having a great carvery and me the vegetarian having vegetarian Thai Green curry, felt a bit short changed with a small portion, half rice and half curry oh and spare amount of vegetables... there were more vegetables on my grand daughters plate. So disappointed!!

Great restaurant for families/ eating with children. Good value for money. Kids portion size very large and slightly over cooked. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere :-)

After a very poor service at the longshore, we thought we'd try the Charlie Purley. When we arrived we were met by a very lovely lady, who I believe was the manager, she showed us to our table & advised us how it all worked with regards to ordering etc. We all decided to have the carvery, we went to the bar & ordered where we were asked about allergies, ordering food & drinks were both quick & easy, the carvery was busy so waited our turn to be served, the only slight disappointment was we were not made aware that you had to pay extra for pigs in blankets, so we didn't get any. Other than that the food was delicious, we also ordered some desserts which were bought over quickly after ordering. The staff were very attentive & nothing was too much effort, glad we decided to give Marstons a second try at the Charlie Purley, would visit again to try items from the main menu & see if the service is just as good 😀

Brilliant ! Food was piping hot and ate off the new Menu. Our host was Mandy and she went over and above catering to our needs - she was friendly, professional, knowledgeable and attentive to us ans our Dog. Top class and will return

We popped in for dinner the other day and have to say we had a lovely time. Food was good, prices were reasonable and we were served by a lovely young lady called Izzy. We highly recommend and will be returning again in the future.

Love eating at The Charlie Purley. Staff really welcoming, very nice atmosphere, never feel rushed, food constantly good standard and being Gluten and Lactose free plenty to choose from.

Double family celebrations , staff went above and beyond, Mandy was fabulous taking orders & making sure all was ok as was Ben & Danielle checked on us also , staff even all came out sang happy birthday lovely team we had a lovely evening

Outrageous. 2 members of staff out front and 2 in kitchen. We had a table of 22 please. Some ordered on the app and some ordered at the bar. Some ordered starters and some didn’t. Some mains come out before the starters and everyone one else had finished their food before 6 other people got the food after an hour. You would give starters and then cook all the mains together. But no didn’t happen. People waited 20 minutes for there drink to come. The person who book the table had to wait 2 day for confirmation to see if they could accommodate us and they said yes. But it altogether only 4 members of staff. The manager didn’t even seem bothered that there was people waiting over an hour for food. Wouldn’t recommend or wouldn’t return

Even though they knew they had a booking for 20 people at 5.30 weeks before they only had 2 staff in the kitchen and 2 on the floor. The young lady behind the bar was lovely but the manager was terrible. When asked why no staff, I was told January is normal quiet. We had to wait well over an hour for our food, everyone's came out at different times and I mean an hour between each order that was done. The food was very dry and the portions were a joke. We didn't get a sorry for all the trouble we had, no refund for anything, nothing. Will never go back and will be telling people not to bother.

A great place to visit for good value and experience

Carvery is always dry! Veg is undercooked. Area where food is isn’t very clean. Recently visited for a family meal as we sat down and ordered food we were then informed the gas has gone down and they couldn’t use any of the kitchen appliances. Was a hassle to get money refunded all while the table behind us go their steak, ribs, burgers all brought out to them but the gas was broken! Shocking pub and restaurant.

If your ordering off the menu then yes it's great. The carvery itself always looks really dried out, and I noticed behind the food counter where the carvery is was a mousetrap, only saw it after eating and showing my little boy the dessert counter.

First time in the Charlie Purley Bognor Regis. Last minute decided to have lunch after shopping. All I can say is WOW - polite and happy bar person came and greeted us, showed us to a table and explained everything we needed to know. Ordered at the bar with another friendly young lady. Food arrived promptly. Portion was larger than expected and very tasty - lady came over and asked if everything was OK and then came and took the plates away, asking if we wanted any desserts or coffee. Am excellent visit and will be coming with the Grandkids next time. Thank you to both the front of house staff for their support and the kitchen for the delicious food.

We've had allways had good experiences at the Charly in recent years. However today was a skipfire. We noticed people walking out after paying and leaving their food, and the place wasn't busy. The carvery staff did serve you eventionally between having a disco in the kitchen, with a staff member occasional keeping lookout through the kitchen window for anyone to be severed. The food was very sub standard and felt like left overs from Xmas day. The chef who obviously likes his american bottled beer, served us stating every meet was Fresh & Good whilst grinning and calling everyone "BUD"., It was a below parr experience, and put us off returning for a while, especially as we had to pay the bank Holiday rates.

Family get together on Boxing Day and we all enjoyed everything about the Charley Purley.

Had an amazing festive dinner, we pre ordered food for 8 of us, timing was impeccable food was incredible. Really enjoyed every part of it. Thank you so much!

Last year coming here fore a pre Christmas lunch was excellent 10 out 10 Today we came again for a pre Christmas lunch the prawn cocktail was excellent the dessert was delicious. But oh dear the main meal was awful roast potatoes hard and burnt as was the parsnip's the cauliflower m carrots, sprouts were mushy, peas turkey and stuffing lovely . The service was poor tables weren’t cleared we did it we didn’t get our dessert till two hours and ten minutes . We feel we were totally forgotten there were twelve of us all together. The wooden chairs were very uncomfortable. This is the first time I feel putting in a complaint was definitely warranted . Such a dissapointment for everyone I left over half of my main meal and there were others doing the same . I felt sorry for my son as he treated us and I feel he should be compensated in some way as he did settle the bill where I wouldn’t have done .mi feel,you let us down this time badly. Booked a table for 2 as we had booked a festive meal on line. After 20 minutes, my friends prawn cocktail arrived with 1 slice of bread and a small pack of FLORA not butter! We were waiting for 30 minutes, after our starter was cleared, to receive our ticket for the carvery, I asked at the bar and she had the ticket in her pocket and had forgotten to give it to us! The carvery was ok, not worth £17.99. The tiny Christmas pudding which was from the microwave, came with a blob of custard on the top - was hoping for a small jug of custard. The cutlery was not very clean and one of the knives was from a different set. The cloth down the middle of the table had sellotape on the ends! The staff were nice and smiley. If you are going to eat here, just lower your expectations.

We had 4 guest the meal was very good, but it was a very hot day and there was no air com in the place .But other than that it was good .

Had a great time with my wife, took her out for dinner, we left the dog in the car, but on arrival we saw that they are dog friendly so little bear came and joined in and had a dogy mixed grill, little bear not so little after that!! Haha! My wife had the fish and chips and she said it was excellant. I picked the carvery, the beef was delicious and cooked just perfect. The cauliflower cheese was so tasty. I even got talked into ordering sticky pigs!! Never going back to normal pigs in blankets!!! Please make them an always on menu and just not christmas! The staff were all so lovely and friendly. The place has become a new favourite!

Come here often, the staff are always so friendly and attentive! Have never had a bad meal here, always perfect and any small problem we’ve ever had is always fixed quickly! Have had the carvery many times and it’s always been really hot and tasty and also plenty of choice for vegetables and sauces.
