Pagham Beach Cafe in Arun

Was staying at Church Farm so convenient to walk to Pagham. I informed the Staff and she said "sorry". They still continued to serve Customers with the salad.

Beach cafe Latham has over the years that we have used it been very good. But now the prices have gone silly . Well over priced and a poor service £26 for two breakfasts that were nothing like the breakfasts we had in our last visit. Would never go back. And to think over the years we used to recommend beach cafe to everyone . Not no more. Jeffrey

This is nothing but a tourist trap to fleece people of money and being only cafe near the beach they are exploiting this to the fullest with over priced drinks that are tiny in size . Staff unfriendly and more worried about their own lunch

Surly and rude staff, mess everywhere and a toilet that wouldn't look out of place in a downtown Mumbai hostel (probably unfair on the hostel). I actually can't bring myself to write anything else about this 'orrible lot but had to say something. Avoid.

I find it puzzling that the reviews for this cafe are either excellent or terrible. Having used it very happily while on holidays for many years, I find the bad reviews inexplicable. I could suspect a competitor, someone with a grudge, ex staff? Otherwise it doesn't make sense. I would suggest newcomers ignore them. Having just returned from another holiday in Pagham I can only repeat what I've said in the past - the food is great, the staff are lovely, it's spotlessly clean, nice ambience and good value. Yes, the prices have increased, but what hasn't - it's still worth it. We would never consider going elsewhere for this type of food while in the area.

Pagham Beach Cafe is situated on the main road leading to Pagham beach. The cafe offers both ‘eat in’ and take away opportunities. Eating can take place inside our outside. When you enter you immediately notice how immaculately clean the cafe is. The staff are all well dressed and are friendly in the way that they serve you. The menu offers a large selection of breakfasts and lunch/dinner courses as well as desserts. A large selection of drinks, both non alcoholic and alcoholic are available. The main cafe area has an interesting selection of decorations with lots of personality. It is bright and airy. The food is freshly cooked and well presented. Service was not too long. Clean toilets are also available for use by customers.

Very disappointed. The very tiny, very pale, overcooked egg, the bacon was undercooked, the sausage and mushrooms had a very unusual taste. For the high price would have expected a lot better. Sorry, but I won’t be going again.

Very disappointed at the new prices. £5 for a small desert bowl of cheesy chips. I could have held the portion in one hand, a real rip off. This used to be a great local cafe. Now too expensive. Am sure quite a few locals will now not use

Have used for many years and had good experience enjoying good quality food and excellent service, however on a recent visit this was not the case in that the prices have increased greatly and the breakfast quality was not as good as before,will think twice about dining here in future.

We stopped by here today for the first time. My daughter had a cooked breakfast and everything was well cooked and she was very happy. I had just a cup of tea as I wasn't too hungry (but the cakes and banoffi cheesecake looked absolutely delicious had I been hungry). I was asked if I would like the tea strong or medium strength - this was a nice touch as rarely happens. The tea was perfect when it arrived. I suppose my only small criticism is that the mug that the tea was in could have been a touch bigger. But overall, we enjoyed our visit to here and will definitely return. (Also - immaculate toilets - thank you)

I visited Pagham in 2010 when I was around 13 years old. I remember walking to the beach on a very windy day with my mom. We stopped at the Beach Cafe for some food cause we were cold and everything was closed. Of course I ordered the fish and chips. Maybe its because I was 13, or because I was cold and hungry, or because the cafe looked like an American diner, BUT I had one of the -best- fish and chips of my life. I remember talking about it all the time during that holiday and also all these years later I still talk about that particular fish I had in some cafe in Pagham more than 10 years ago. I couldn't remember the name of the cafe, so today (2024) I browsed and browsed until I found it and here I am. I still think about that fish and chips. best fish ever.

Excellent service, Anna our waitress was wonderful, very friendly and helpful. Returned the next because so impressed the first time, food was very good and inexpensive. Would not hesitate to recommend and return.

At first glance looks nice and cheap but my god the portion sizes are tiny. Would not recommend going here unfortunately unless they up the sizes, side of chios for over £3 and the plate was tiny. Very disappointed

Treated like scum from the moment of ordering. Poor quality, minuscule portions, bad attitude. Please avoid. Go to small fry round the corner. This shop ruined our evening. Don’t let it ruin yours.

Was recommended this place for Breakfast and what a great place! Excellent food and value for money and I love the way the place is decorated- it's like going back in time to a proper seaside cafe with it's fun bright interior. The food was piping hot and excellent quality, really nice thick bacon and a choice of toast or fried slice, extras are very well priced too. Coffee was very nice as well. service friendly and efficient - will be back to try out the lunch menu soon!

Steer clear of this place. I ordered fish and chips to take away .Regular cod with chips costing £9.60. The chips had been recooked more than twice and the fish was inedible plus being very small ,not worth the money . I would not recommend this place to anyone visiting Pagham

Another holiday in Pagham so more meals from this great cafe, mostly takeaways. Great choice of quality food (fish etc and chips, jacket potatoes, baguettes, paninis etc) well cooked (freshly and quickly) and good value. The takeaway menu can be adapted and include items from the main menu. Had one meal in the cafe, with a big range of meals - served quickly, lovely waitress who catered for children's whims and changes of mind with great patience. The home made quiche was delicious. I resisted the home made cakes due to the calorie challenge but they looked scrumptious. Lovely quirky interior. Meals and drinks can be served on the outside sun decking, or in the row of 'train carriages'. Very close to beach, car park opposite (though you can park for free in or just up the road). Never fails to please.

Had pie and chips . Pie had uncooked pastry also had two cappuccinos both time asked for no chocolate both time came with chocolate on top. Then had a price of coffee and walnut cake was dry and hard Wont be going again

We had 2 breakfasts here this week(17 to 21st July 23) and I have to say both times were great food was very good, well cooked and very fast, staff very friendly and accommodating thank you.

We were disappointed with our lunch here. My mother in law had ham egg and chips, she got 1 slice of wafer thin ham. My husband had sausage egg and chips, to which he got 1 sausage. My daughter had the mini burger kids meal, which was decent in size (bigger than adult mains) but had no cheese, despite asking twice. I had a panini which was okay. The biggest disappointment was the 3 milkshakes we ordered. They arrived warm, as if the milk had been left on the side for hours. When I raised it with staff they kindly made fresh ones, however they were exactly the same. Needless to say they didn't get drunk. I was disappointed when we were still charged for them. Last time we came it was a much better experience. There was also a awful high pitched noise going off intermittently through our lunch.

During our visit to the neach, we noticed this was very close so ordered a takeaway but sat on the benches outside the cafe. Albeit small portions the food was all piping hot and tasted good. Staff a little miserable lol

Another holiday in Pagham, so more visits to the café. Excellent as always. Breakfast was tasty, freshly cooked, served quickly and very good value. Had several takeaways , all good and well priced, freshly cooked to order. Portions are large. Friendly, helpful staff, the café is spotlessly clean, large outdoor decking area, with quirky 'railway carriages' for shelter - kids loved that. I have to doubt the authenticity of some of the poor reviews of this place - take them with a pinch of salt. The fact that a lot of locals eat here speaks volumes.

Lovely little place with outside seating across where they deliver to table , reasonably priced aswell for down south , food looked good that was being served

This review is not about food and drink but about one person. My wife and I had got fish and chips and teas from the cafe. She had an accident with her tea and spilled it on her tummy causing it to burn and start to blister. She went into the ice cream parlour to enquire if anyone could help in a first aid capacity. A lady called Lisa immediately took control of the situation and directed her to an outside tap to bathe the area. She stayed with my wife throughout for a good 25 minutes constantly checking the situation, and even brought a hosepipe so that more water could be applied to the area. Lisa supplied gauze bandages and even found one of her old dresses for my wife to change into! If it hadn't been for Lisa's quick response and diligence in looking after my wife she would have ended up with a very nasty burn. Lisa wouldn't accept anything for her deed. She is an absolute gem and an amazing lady and we can't thank her enough. My wife has made a great recovery too. Thank you Lisa, lots of love and hugs. xxx

My family and I visited this restaurant on a number of occasions for snacks and lunch. The staff were very happy and polite and attentive. The food was very good and great value. Plenty of seating inside and out. Highly recommended.

This is a fairly basic café and chip shop. Friendly service, reasonable prices, food was OK but not very adventurous. A bit old fashioned I suppose but then Pagham is a bit out of the way.

Everytime we are on holiday in W Sussex we have to visit Pagham Beach Cafe! The customer service and management at this cafe is some of the best I have ever experienced. Every visit, we are greeted warmly, nothing is ever too much trouble and all staff will go out of their way to help.The menu is huge and staff will happily change any variation of a set dish to suit you. Over the 7 years we have visited, the food, which consists of large portions of filling pub style grub, has been consistently great value for money.The milkshakes and smoothies definitely need to be tried! The cafe is clean and hygienic, and I've been really impressed ( though not surprised knowing their standards) by the attention to detail and safety standards put in place as a response to COVID19 regulations. It's good a lovely, friendly atmosphere and I would recommend it to all ages, from families with young children to older couples alike.

I have been coming to pagham my whole life (34 years) I have have been bringing my children here for year (oldest 17) my mother and grandparents before me stayed in pagham and for as long as I can remember the cafe has been our place to go the owners and staff are lovely year after year food is always yummy and plenty to fill you up, good value for money I wouldn’t and have never eaten anywhere else when on holiday 10/10 recommended. Also the arcade just along the road is my favourite of all time arcade, lots of happy memories growing and playing in there for hours in end and now I take my children in there and they love it too, old school arcade but it is the best never fail to win which leads to happy me and happy children owners and staff always available 10/10 highly recommend

We ordered a large cod and large chips to feed two people. The cod was no larger than the palm of your hand. Very disappointed and we won’t be returning.

Annual holiday to Pagham and always use this cafe as it's so good. We didn't actually go in to eat as I'm still nervous of eating in, but it looked as though all necessary precautions had been taken. There is also a large sun terrace and other outdoor areas for eating outside.We basically lived on their takeaways for 2 weeks - great choice, mostly freshly cooked, good sized portions, very tasty and good value. The chips are lovely and, as well as all the usual cooked foods, there are also delicious baguettes, jacket potatoes etc.The staff are very friendly and helpful. Very good Covid 19 precautions, so felt very safe ordering from there, with the choice of contactless payments.Very close to the beach and car park, and also ice cream shop with tasty, 'real' ice cream.

First visit here. Dreadful service and food. We asked for sauces when our meal was served and the waitress never came back. The chicken burger I had was just a chicken burger between a bun. No salad, sauces or anything else. Apparently its only served with onions and nothing else. The portion sizes are mean for what you pay for them.

We ordered the fish and chips from here and i must say it was pretty poor, chips were hard and undercooked and the batter was sloppy and oily. overall not great.

Top café. Visited twice as food is excellent, fresh cooked and served on hot plates so it stays lovely to the end. Recommend the all day breakfasts and delicious desserts. Very pleasant staff.

Exemplary Due Diligence. My husband and I, wanting a light bite popped into this cafe. The due diligence paid to cleaning, health and hygiene were above and beyond. In these worrying times, we felt assured that within this establishment the utmost concern is that of the customer. 20/10.

Great cafe, plenty of choice, I always have the omelette, it's fab, really light and fluffy, cooked to perfection. With a salad that has olives and sun-dried tomatoes in it!!

Been tonight. Arrived about 4.30. Asked what time do you close as all the floors were being mopped around us. We were told cafe closes at 6pm. Website says Thursdays closes at 8pm. Need to update your website as it says 8pm closing time

Been here a few times with my children and also picked up takeaway sandwiches. This weekend, I called in for a couple of takeaway bacon sandwiches, but decided to ask what else could be 'taken away' from the breakfast menu. When I was told "anything", I went for two full English breakfasts.I have to say, they were amazing. Beans and Tomatoes were in separate pots, so did not ruin the rest of the food - brilliant!Highly recommend for sure.

Saw this place & thought it looked nice inside is but the food is mediocre it advertises Fresh fish & chips but the chips are frozen that were only just cooked so a very pale yellow as for the fish at 1st I couldn't work out why it had pancake batter til I realised it was frozen too probably from Brake Bros (frozen food company to the trade) or even Iceland maybe because we were the only customers they couldn't be bothered to go to the effort of doing fresh food but I suspect this is the norm. The 1/2 we were there the owner spent chatting to some chap about his holidays the she owed him her holiday pics then when asked by another man how hot it was she gave him chapter & verse of the temperature & the fact she'd not unpacked yet!!not once did she acknowledged us it was left to 2 very young girls to do the cooking & serving. It's a shame as its just outside a busy caravan park & could really pick up lots of custom ftom it all season if the fish&chips really were FRESH

Lovely cafe it is located close to the beach near the sailing club. They offer a wide range of food and drinks.we only had a decaffeinated coffee and it was one of the best we have had. The breakfast on the next table looked lovely and if we hadn't already eaten we would have stayed and had one. Brilliant service brilliant staff very friendly and a joy to visit.

Six of us met for one of our regular breakfasts at 10am Sunday morning. The cafe was extremely busy and had a great atmosphere as always. Despite the large number of customers we were all served quickly. The breakfasts were all very tasty and piping hot! Staff friendly and polite. the food and menu are good with reasonable prices much better than the Haven site we stayed on. the area is run down though and there's very little around it in the way of shops or fun activities for kids and parking is an issue
