We stopped in on out travel through Penrith. This is a great pub with the history preserved in the architecture and decor. The staff were very welcoming and friendly The.food was great. Highly recommend.
A fairly small, simple and quaint restaurant, but excellent value and delicious Chinese food.
The chicken and sweetcorn soup is some of the best I have ever tasted. Well seasoned and the texture is perfect, as often some places make it way too gloopy.
The prawn toast had more prawn in it than virtually every other place i have been, furthermore you can tell its homemade rather than the oh so common freezer to fryer ones made with a prawn and chicken mix.
The hot garlic beef steak was absolutely divine, so tender and spicy, a standout dish.
Only downside, the sweet and sour wasn’t great, I have much better elsewhere, but the rest of the food is so good it doesn’t bother me, I just don’t order it anymore!
If you have somewhere to eat at home, there isn’t much advantage to eating out at the restaurant compared to as a takeaway as its a simple setting, but regardless the staff have always been very friendly and catered to our needs well.
The best Chinese in Bowness/Windermere and it’s not even close! (And trust me, at the time of writing we have been to them all!)
Deliciosos pasteles. Menú simple pero brillante. La mayoría de los pasteles también se pueden hacer sin gluten y hay postres sin gluten. La decoración es realmente genial y los pasteles son deliciosos.
In the middle of a house move so we ordered a takeaway Sunday lunch each for everyone. It was fantastic - generous portions and delicious home-cooked food. The staff were really friendly when I went to collect. We live locally and would definitely recommend.

Snugbury’s has been a family tradition since I was a kid to now with my own kids.
The kids love trying to be the first ones to spot the hay sculpture (which is currently Paddington) on the drive to it.
We went this time to start the spooky season off, as they have currently a lovely little pumpkin patch and spooky trail leading up to Paddington. They have decorated it beautifully.
They also have a fire pit to toast marshmallows. A food truck serving hotdogs and also snugpuds and not to mention the ice cream!
It’s a perfect place for an afternoon out.

Farmhouse Ice cream Outlet. Lovely rich fresh ice cream, the variety of ice cream flavours are amazing. We tried the Pumpkin spiced, Sloe & Gin, Ginger & Honey & they were yummy.
Stayed here for one night for business purposes.
My room was lovely and warm, tidy and spacious. Bathroom shower was great and the toiletries smelt lovely. Had a comfy night and a full English in the morning. Service was excellent and cheerful.
Had dinner the night before and that was the same. I would defo stay here again and recommend it.
My room overlooked the car park and countryside- very nice.
Had lunch today , no room in main building , but went across the yard to a separate room , fine no issues , but when entering the building people had got there coats on sitting at the tables , touched a radiator and it was cold , not a great start . Staff were obviously busy , waited twenty minutes for someone to come to us , we eventually got a beer and ordered food . Food came ( a festive burger) all good , really tasty , finished food , waited fifteen minutes thought someone would come to offer another drink or a desert , or even pay the bill , we eventually got up and paid the bill at the bar . The least I would expect when paying top end money for lunch , would be some decent service and to be warm . Would not stop me going again food was fine .

Called in after a long walk, had a couple of pleasant drinks. Didn't eat. Well, unless you count crisps, which, I suppose technically is eating. So, did eat and the crisps were nice. That said, a crisp is a crisp is a crisp. They were nice crisps though. Would recommend for a drink, nice atmosphere. Oh, and they do crisps.
