The best restaurants in West Lancashire North West

I’ve visited a number of times, the food has always been excellent and the service has been just as good. I tried the sticky chicken for starter and it was amazing, followed by the slow roasted lamb which was great.

The food is always fabulous. It's a warm welcome and great menu. Not cheap but still good value. Highly recommended.

The location of the restaurant very nice with a lake as you pull into the area. The service was fantastic from the first minute. There was never a moment where we felt like we had been forgotten about. Water was constantly filled up and kept on eye on for running out. The menu was fish and meat based. I had the quail with mushroom for starter, and a roasted monkfish dish as my main. Both were very well put together and very tasty. There were some snack dishes also (The focaccia and butter was very nice). We finished with some desserts which wasn't overly sweet and delicious. All in all, the food amount was just about right. It was about £100 per person for the 3 courses and a couple of the cocktails. You could spend less if you skip the drinks and desserts at about £70 per person. But might as well get the full experience while you are there. Toilets 10/10 - Immaculate and nice smelling soap

Went for the first time today, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised, the menu had good choices, and the food was lovely and well presented and the staff where very friendly and nice, will be going back 😊

It is a very busy establishment, but it's worth the wait. The food is first class and the staff are excellent.

Perfect for a pit stop for when I'm out on the bike. Good coffee & food, and though the cake offerings were tempting, I resisted on this occasion! I faintly heard some decent music from behind the counter. Would have enhanced my visit if the music was extended into the seated areas. Of course, this is a personal preference and may not be appreciated by the majority of visitors. Great cafe, will be visiting again 🙌🏼

Booked online, received confirmation email and text , got there and closed ! Rang them and emailed with no response ! Disgraceful

First time we have bought from the bakery, it was amazing. The bread and scones were so fresh . We bought a chicken and mince pies full of meat they were delicious. Will be definitely be returning

Quite often visit for lunch with friends but we would have liked hot drinks after our meal sadly, we left without a hot drink as they don’t offer decaffeinated tea which one of our friends can only drink. But they offer decaffeinated coffee.

Called in as I usually have lots of times in the past to purchase a take away meal of Feta Cheese Salad. On the last occasion I noticed there wasn't a lot of feta cheese and I mentioned it when ordering today. I also asked what the dressing was as it was very nice. I got home with my meal and when I opened it I was so disappointed to find the feta cheese was cut into tiny pieces and amounted to even less than the last time. As a result I removed all the pieces and weighed it and it weighed just 3/4 oz or 21 grams. I have always recommended O'Brien's as a great place to eat as the food is so good and such good value. In fact as I sat waiting for my meal the food coming from the kitchen was spectacular. I admit it has upset me, and more so when I rang to complain and just got a sorry from whoever answered my call. Eventually I was passed onto the ' Manager ' called Gary who said he wasn't the manager and was reluctant to say who he was. In the end he said he was the person in charge that day. He didn't seem to know how to react to my complaint, maybe because he is not used to getting any and I truly get that, because I have never had any reason to do so in the past either. He asked me to bring it back to which I declined because I was at home, then he offered me a refund and asked for my card details. The phone I went dead so I had to call back and it was just passed off by one of the staff as I had been accidently cut off. Although I heard his voice in the background the person who had answered me asked for my card details, took them and said the amount of £7.95 had been refunded and she said sorry... No sincerity in the apology and Gary she said was the owner..Wow why was he not upfront about that eh?

There was nothing wrong with this place the food was great seats were brilliant and it just a cool place 5 stars 🌟
