I’m from America visiting my cousin and was turned away because I brought my niece. She’s 14 and it was 5.45. There is nothing on the website stating no children and as it serves food we weren’t expecting that. Spent £20 on train tickets - not impressed!!!

I'm so shocked by any negative reviews here so I had to leave my own. Have visited here with family ( and our little dog) several times this year and not had one single bad experience. One time it was particularly busy and they took a while with our drinks order, but they apologised profusely and knocked an amount off our bill to make up for it. The food has always been delicious ( highly recommend the fish and chips, any of the salads and their soups are always amazing ) Cocktails are delicious and staff are always so friendly! It's always a lovely atmosphere especially on Friday afternoon/evenings and our family love visiting. Thank you Arthur's. (ps, please bring the whipped cheese back it was amazing)

The quality of the food did not warrant the prices being charged. Obviously not a qualified Chef in the kitchen. The staff were happy to stand behind the bar talking for most of the time we were there. Had to go to the bar for a round of drinks and had to ask to have our finished plates removed. A lack of staff training was obvious.

A Fantastic Neighbourhood Wine Bar. Great Selection of drinks and tasty cocktails. The music and vibe was great! Staff are friendly and the bald headed guy behind the bar was really accommodating and made our experience brilliant. Thank you and merry Christmas

I have came a few times to Arthur's over the years. And I have to say what an amazing place this is! Josh has done such an amazing job with this place and I have loved seeing the improvment of the atmosphere, food/drinks and staff over the last few months. Great selection of wines as usual And the Guinness is always on point. Keep it up team Will be back. David.

Had lunch here with my two friends. Lovely food and atmosphere. Great decor. Menu had loads of choices food was great and service was quick. Would recommend the Hot chocolate too. Staff were very friendly and polite.

Called in here on the way home to Southport and 4 of us ordered lunch. We had a lovely bottle of wine but when food arrived it was dreadful and we were all very disappointed. I ordered a croque monsieur. This was abysmal! I ate one quarter and was so shocked at the state of it. Cheap bread, cheap thin slice of ham and even cheaper piece of nondescript cheese slice! No bechamel sauce on top done under a grill. This was £7 and was effectively a very inferior cheese and ham toasty. My brother had a chicken Caesar salad which was no better, the smallest amount of thinly sliced chicken the worst croutons hardly any Parmesan or dressing so he had to ask for more, I was shocked at the state of it. The other members of the party were also underwhelmed with their food. I did tell the waitress that the croque was dreadful and it was taken off the bill but I would not recommend eating here and would never waste my money in there again, unless it was just for a drink. They are clueless on how food should be served or presented and whoever is in the kitchen does not know anything about food.

2nd visit but 1st time I've eaten here, food was really good. The waitress helped with selection of food and suggested a great starter. It's spotlessly clean, friendly and reasonably priced. Nice atmosphere, parking could be better lol. Will definitely be back.

Fantastic wine bar and the drinks were great. We received great friendly service from the staff. Especially Sam who made our evening. Friendly, attentive and our drinks were always full. We didnt have to ask for anything. Thanks! We will be coming back.

We came on a weekday evening for drinks, ended up having some nibbles too. Good selection of beers and the food is good quality, tasty and pretty generous portions. Staff were not very attentive but not rude. I would come again if I’m in the area.

Visited for lunch with a friend. Had lovely food and a very nice glass of wine. The atmosphere is very friendly and the staff very nice. The coffee was also very good. A lovely way to spend a couple of hours. We will be back soon.

Enjoyed a nice night good little place

Excellent service. I was really pleased when my chessboard came the was so much cheese on the board. I love good a head like baby Jesus. The heaters were switched which is always great. My sever Connie and mollie was brilliant full of smiles and joy. You knew how much the girls loved the job which made the experience so much better. However the football was on so the was a lot of Everton fans in the bar which is always a let down.

Lovely place and child friendly

Came across Arthur's by chance. We were made welcome and offered a choice of tables. We settled into window seats. We chose a charcuterie and cheese board that we shared. I paired this with a delicious Goose IPA. We had intended to have cake but found the board enough for a shared lunch. We might have sat outside except it was breezy.

Not just a bar... we visited for an early lunch...I had coffee which was fresh and piping hot .Nothing was too much trouble ..very friendly staff. The sandwiches were warm,fresh and very tasty!

Good beer and always a nice atmosphere! This is a wine bar so theres plenty of quality choice along with some cocktails if you fancy something different. The bar staff are friendly and knowledgeable should you be stuck for choice. It’s an great place to unwind!!

A great place for a friendly drink.

Tucked in the little village of Aughton, Ormskirk, Lancashire use to be a shop but as now changed to a Wine bar named Arthur's of Aughton we went at lunchtime to sample the lunchtime menu, we ordered a couple of nibbles mixed olives & bread, for our main both me & my partner ordered the pastrami cheese sandwich the bread was so fresh and tasted homemade it was amazing it was not your average ham & cheese sandwich, looking forward to our next visit to try the evening menu.

A thoroughly enjoyable family visit to Arthur’s on Saturday 11th December. The staff made us feel so welcome - they were friendly and professional. The food was delicious & a superb selection of drinks. Thank you.

Fabulous experience with Wayne on a 2 hour wine tasting session with charcuterie board. Wayne really knows his stuff when it comes to wine and introduced us to some amazing wines we would never have tried before. Pairings with high quality cheese/ meat. We plan on returning with friends for another session. Great addition to Aughton! We will be back
