Miller and Carter in West Lancashire

Quite often visit for lunch with friends but we would have liked hot drinks after our meal sadly, we left without a hot drink as they don’t offer decaffeinated tea which one of our friends can only drink. But they offer decaffeinated coffee.

We had dinner on a Sunday at M&C Aughton, and the food was exceptional! We enjoyed all 3 courses. Our waitress Judith was so lovely, she helped us navigate the menu (one of us ate off the main menu, the other off the Sunday menu) and she was kind and attentive to our 16 month old. We can't wait to dine here again.

From the moment we arrived and checked in, the staff had gone above and beyond for my 50th birthday celebration. We dined with family and we stayed overnight… the staff had set the room up beautifully as a surprise, the food was amazing and the entire experience left me feeling more than special. So a massive thank you to Louisa, Lizzie and all of the staff for an enjoyable and memorable evening. Looking forward to our return 🥰

The 50 days dried aged sirloin was exceptional with the bone marrow sauce. A very nice business dinner before the examination. Special compliment to Michelle for her warm welcome and hospitality

The restaurant was Family friendly and the service was efficient. Our server, Lewis was very friendly and attentive. We had the lunch time menu which was great.

Be careful where they seat you, because the waitress/Waiter will forget about you. Sat around a blind corner full of apologies when issue raised but nothing changed or rectified

The perfect location for us whilst visiting family that live close by .we eat in restaurant food was immense and was a nice treat

Just enjoyed a fabulous lunch special menu, which was faultless. Super staff, welcoming, friendly and experienced. Good menu on offer - 2 course £16.99 or 3 for £19.99. All the food arrived freshly cooked and very tasty. Very knowledgeable and attentive about my husband's gluten allergy. Very enjoyable impromptu 'date day' with lesser half 😂

Visited on 18/2/25 for a birthday lunch for my partner. We ordered from the lunch menu, 3 courses for £20 which is excellent value for money. Food top notch and the service by Lewis was first class, he’s a credit to you!! Will definitely be returning

The food was great. Improvements - place is in desperate need of refurbishment. We were put on a pokey table not far from where the food comes gets brought out. Just not a great experience/setting defo wouldnt go back.

Fast and friendly service. We were seated within minutes of arriving and drinks were brought over promptly afterwards. Starters were brought out within 10 minutes of ordering and were delicious! Mains were cooked beautifully, served by a friendly waiter. Big thank you to Michelle, she made the experience 10/10!

Visited today for my nans 80th birthday, our server Elle couldn’t do enough for us with a big table of 17 nothing was too much trouble for her, service was amazing, as was the food, will definitely be back.

Ordered a delivery. Cant fault the actual food although it was very cold. Came in a paper and cardboard should have been in insulted containers.

We went for Dinner on a Friday night very busy however this did not deter from excellent customer service from the staff. Our server AJ was very friendly. The food was excellent and able to accommodate all our food choices

I came in recently for some drinks before heading into Aintree and I had a really nice experience. The barman, who introduced himself as Myles, was a crackshot at any cocktail I threw his way. The ambience was spot on and the staff were great 😉 Would definitely swing by again!

Came in the other day with my friend, had such a great experience. We had a few drinks and was greeted by a lovely lad (think his name was Myles) and the cocktails were great to top it off! Definitely will come again for a steak and a drink!

Miller and Carter is always nice food. Yesterday we were a bit disappointed as the two meals we wanted to try out had gone so we had to chose different meals. The food as always was okay. One of the steaks was not cooked as we requested so had to return it to be cooked a bit more whilst the other ate, the onion loaf was gross, not like it usually was looked more like a greasy chop suey roll from the chippy.

This is a lovely restaurant to dine in. The staff were really polite and helpful, explaining about the steaks and how they should b cooked. We had ribeye which was delicious and juicy. My only 1 negative is they don't do alcohol free wine which i was surprised for a steak restaurant. A nice glass of red goes lovely with steak, alcoholic or not.

I am writing to express my disappointment with the dining experience my wife and I had at your restaurant on New Year's Eve. We were looking forward to a nice steak dinner, but unfortunately, the quality of the food and service did not meet our expectations. We both ordered fillet steaks, but my steak had a ripple of fat through it and was very chewy, causing me to leave nearly half of it uneaten. When the server initially asked if everything was okay, I said yes as the dish had just been presented. However, as the restaurant was very busy, I was unable to catch the attention of a staff member to address the issue. When the server returned to collect the plates, I showed her the fat running through the meat and explained that it was not the best. She acknowledged that it was not right for a fillet steak and apologized, but no further action was taken. Additionally, I ordered an apple tart for dessert, which was soggy and inedible. My wife decided to take her dessert away as we were both disappointed with the quality of the food. Considering we paid £134 for our meal, we expected a much higher standard of food and service. I hope you will take this feedback seriously and address these issues to ensure that other customers do not have a similar experience. I would appreciate it if you could offer a resolution to this matter, such as a refund or a complimentary meal, to make up for the disappointing experience we had.

The staff was great, the food was great and we had the private room. Will be back as fabulous 👌

Food and cocktails both great (we find it is always consistent across M&C restaurants) However we were really disappointed in Aughton - it was scruffy and dirty. The table we sat for drinks was dirty (so were all of them), menus in restaurant dirty, carpet has lots of food on it in the restaurant that hasn’t been hoovered up between diners. Also our booking was for 7:30 but we didn’t receive a starter until 8:15. Service was slow. The restaurant was just too busy to cope in my opinion which has lead us to have an unfavourable view and we won’t be returning.

Although it was a very busy afternoon which meant the service was slow the two ladies serving worked really hard to keep it to a minimum, the food was well presented fresh and hot. It was just service that stopped me from giving a five star.

Went for the 3rd time in a month. It has been amazing every time and has never let us down. Food has been brilliant on every visit and all four of us had a lovely meal. Staff on every occasion have been really good. Well trained and very professional. We have told all our friends and family and they have also enjoyed a positive and enjoyable experience. We had our work’s Christmas party here and they gave us a private room to celebrate. Absolutely amazing time, food was top notch, and the service was exceptional. Judith looked us all afternoon and made sure we had everything we needed!
