Where do i start, Food was excellent from start to finish, The staff are great, Food was a little slow at the beginning as it was a little busy and not many staff, but the starters and main where spread out well. I will definitely come back.

What can I say other than bravo!! Fabulous night at the Scarisbrick Arms for the immersive film/food experience showing Ratatouille. This has been my now adult Daughters favourite film since she was tiny, so we loved the idea! Warmly welcomed as we entered, the staff were fantastic, particularly our hostess. The dining area was set out beautifully, and the screen was large enough for all to see unobstructed. Each course appeared at set moments through the film and it matched in perfectly. No disruption at all, very smooth. The food was totally fantastic, delicious, hot, fresh and high quality. Portion sizes were generous too, we were so full up! I would heartily recommend this experience, we will do it again for sure, superb idea, a million thanks for a lovely evening with my daughter.

Came here today, table for four, very quiet. Lovely man who served us, food was really nice, my only point is please don’t give out paper menus that are tatty and stained! Just get them laminated! and if the shipyard beer had been on I would give you 5 🌟

Good Two course Sunday lunch. Pictured is the Black Pudding starter and Chicken. Once you deconstruct the tower of food there's a real plateful! Only downside is that drinks service was a little slow and not much range of ales - could do with a good local bitter - maybe a collaboration with nearby Neptune Brewery?

I have been coming here for almost 3 years and there food has always been spot - on. I live on a nice 57 foot narrow boat, which for two years was parked outside,.The canal is facing it and it is a very nice view. All the staff are nice and are most of the time rushed about. Don't leave if you think you are being ignored , the staff are always rushed around as they are mostly busy on weekends.There is a nice place were you can sit on a bench and chill. There are no dogs allowed inside , but if it is a nice day, you can sit outside. if you sit outside you will be served drinks and food. I would advise you try the seabass or steak. nice place. Beautiful food, great staff. Spacious and immaculately laid out interior. We sat outside in the fresh air and sunshine overlooking the fields and surrounding countryside. For one whole day, my birthday, they made me feel like a king. A memory I will never forget... UPDATE: Popped back in tonight and tried the beautiful Portuguese Fish Cakes and Calamari #DELICIOUS

Been 6-7 times food always excellent and staff can do no more for you, we had an issue with a dish on the last visit which was rectified by the chef personally and immediately. Well worth a visit

First time visiting and booked due to location more than anything. But was pleasantly surprised at how nice the restaurant was, really lovely staff and great menu. The food was fantastic! 10 of us all ordered different dishes and everything tasted delicious. Would recommend and will visit again!

Thiago's place is like that. Every time I come here, Thiago's daughter Ines lets me try something different . And every time my taste buds get blown away. Today it was the little authentic Portuguese fish cakes, and if you're thinking "I've tried the English ones from the local chippy" you couldn't be more wrong. These Portuguese fish cakes are much lighter, less stodgy, very delicate and so much more tasty. For me to prefer them over my usual whitebait or calamari comes as quite the surprise. But then I think little Ines is a wonderful chef. She taught me some Portuguese language skills once, and I had to scrabble through all my notes to remember my manners: "obrigado, comida deliciosa" 🥰 "muito muito delicioso" but then Ines stepped aside and let Thiago do what Thiago does best (see the photo of his sirloin steak below) 😮 WOW that boy knows how to make a great steak 🥰 Meanwhile, young Yasmine kept my Malbec topped up and I think I've ended the year by saving the best for last. Now I know this kind of restaurant serves smaller portions and charges more than a pub but its not that superior to cheaper options

Not really a pub, just a country restaurant with a bar. Limited selection of beers, very large selection of wines. Prices reasonable.

Food ok but woeful service. First time in my life deserts were served whilst main course plates still not cleared!!! Come on guys

Well it was for my sister in laws birthday, we found out that the day b4 head shef walked out ,not good b4 it started for a table of 18 ,staff done there best under the conditions, blond haired waitress was about the best and helpful. Food was average but they tried. Toilets were not cleaned ,no toilet paper and no soap to wash hands,so that tells us not enough staffing to run the place . So they need to up there game if they require customers coming back. Soz for the dissatisfied review but it needed to be said.

Not dog friendly, not people friendly, and rude in the extreme, don't rush to this PUB as it is not worth it and it will not be open for long, unless the two managing directors remove the noses from there back sides and realize what and where they are. This place was empty a mile up the road the pub was full why? answer friendly and accomadating staff and a pub that knows what it is.

Celebrated a family birthday here in our own room on the ground floor. The food was delicious, everyone was pleased with it. We were well looked after!

If you are looking for a beautiful Sunday roast in stylish but comfortable surroundings then you must try The New Scarisbrick Arms. I had tempura prawns that were piping hot and delicious, roast beef that was thick, juicy and plentiful with veggies cooked to perfection, and indulgent Portuguese tart. Just utterly delicious. I will definitely be returning.

The male staff were quite rude to a few customers not just us. They seemed stressed and let the customers know. Food was fab, bar staff were great. Just the miserable gobs and bad manners let it down

Service from the two ladies and guy was perfect. I ordered steak and chips. Steak was lovely. Got the feeling chips were originally done hours previously and warmed up as they were awful but we were in too much of a rush to get stuff replaced and made fresh, so we ate what we could. Wife got a chicken dish and chips with same chips. Bit of a shame really.

we had a lovely family meal here, the food and service was excellent also beautifully presented, i was in a wheellchair following a stroke a couple of months earlier. access was no problem at all a ramp was made available at the step at the entrance the staff kindly helped my wife get me up the ramp

Arrived without a booking as a party of 6, and were advised that they were a little busy and would we mid having a drink at the bar whilst they prepared a table, which was fine, but there were tables in the restaurant..... The décor of place is the grey and shiny silver touch, but it fails to carry it off and as such looks a little shabby. The met and greet was fine and the drinks were efficiently served at the table, it was remarked upon that the table was a little sticky, but not an issue. We ordered the food and were then taken to the table, a nice table with comfy seats. The starters ordered were on the set Sunday options menu, but a couple of options were not available, there was a fair selection ordered by us, they all looked well, but were clumsily presented and a little bland. I ordered a Rib Eye as my main course and it was a thin slice of meat and not a lot of marbling, the accompanying peppercorn sauce was also watery, as such it was again bland and what would be expected as pub grub (which I generally don't have a high regard for). The deserts were as the mains, what you would expect from a pub grub offering. It seems very family oriented, and that's a nice thing, but for what we got, I thought it was a little expensive. Would I go there again, well yes if it was a last resort, but there are certainly much better pub grub offerings locally.

I’ve been here a few times with family or just called in for a pint of Peroni over the last few years and I’ve never had any issues at all! I visited this afternoon (03rd August 2023) for a Peroni and although the restaurant was quiet, the young lady who welcomed me and served was excellent! She was very friendly, pleasant and polite and I had a very positive experience! I do however recommend that you update your opening hours to make people aware that you close at 2pm and reopen later in the afternoon and although I did already know this, others may not I did arrive at 1.50pm and the lovely young lady did inform me that you were closing soon or I would’ve stayed longer My compliments and I look forward to visiting again soon

Beautiful food, really nice, home cooked chips are perfect, sorry I didn't try the belly pork now, will do next time. Chef had a good support staff, well done, Manager could have been bit more smiley and chatty, but still lovely man. Well done guys

Visited on a Sunday afternoon. Very few people in restaurant. A set Sunday menu of two courses for £19:95 each available. Seating was worn & dirty, the dining area decor was tired & grubby, large ceiling lampshades dusty & grubby, T. light holders grubby & full of wax, food crumbs in the seams of the seating. Grubby, greasey hand marks on chair sides, upright chairs worn & torn. Overall the dining area was tired, worn & grubby looking. Starters: Prawn cocktail very basic, leek & potato soup flavourless. The Sunday roast dish was presented in a 'stack' topped with a yorkshire pud. The Sunday roast was lacking in quantity & taste. Ordered water, it came to the table in a large, grubby, marked plastic jug. Would not recommend or visit again.

Me and my parents were a walk-in on a busy father's day. After having a few drinks at the bar, we were asked if we would like some food at the bar even though the restaurant area was fully booked. I'm glad we said yes! The food ticked all the boxes! Well made and presented, tasted great and well priced as a welcome bonus too! All the staff were on their game and you could see they were taking a busy day in their stride. Taking so much pride in the place that even a small spill on the floor was spotted and cleaned within seconds. I couldn't have any more nice things to say about this experience. Everyone working here is a credit to the place.

Great ambience. We were a big group and booked on a Friday night. Inspite of this, there were no delays in food or drinks being brought the table. Nice place if u r looking for good food, great ambient and ample free parking. Not much vegan options hence the 4 star

Server went above and beyond. Kids portions were a good size. I ordered steak which was cooked well and nice and tender. The onion rings were gorgeous. As were the chips. Plenty of space for the kids to play whilst eating beautiful setting by the canal. Only criticism is the décor needs a bit of reinvestment. Particularly the signage outside and the wallpaper in the toilets. Overall, wouldn't hesitate to recommend

Sunday lunch with a group of ten retired colleagues. Really delicious food beautifully presented and freshly cooked. Excellent value on their special Sunday lunch menu, just as good as the main menu with a big saving. Great friendly and efficient service and comfortable seating in a pleasant dining area at our reserved table. We intend to make it a regular venue and have booked again for June.

Went here for a surprise 60th birthday party. Never been before. Great service, very welcoming and friendly. Food was fantastic given numbers at the party. Had Salmon Wellington and would recommend. Others had Fish and Chips.....fish was huge!!!!

Wow - what a find ! The food here is fantastic quality, delicious, beautifully presented, as well as excellent value. The service was lovely - very warm and helpful. The old adage of “Never Judge a Book by it’s Cover “ definitely applies here… the frontage may be a little tired, but as soon as you enter, you find yourself in a sleek, light, spotless modern restaurant with a rear wall of bifold doors looking out over a new terrace and to the canal beyond. The food is cooked to order in a lovely open kitchen - so you know they have nothing to hide, and are rightly proud of their food. There is a great choice on the menu and we all absolutely loved the meals we chose. The chef kindly tweaked my sea bass to order - it was scrumptious! Fantastic find - can’t sing their praises highly enough!

What an amazing find. Extremely delicious and beautifully presented Cordon bleu standard food at very reasonable prices. Staff were all friendly and helpful. We only spotted the Scarisbrick Arms by chance but are so glad we did. Highly recommend you visit. You will not be disappointed

We went for a birthday celebratio meal and were delighted with the food. The canal side setting was pleasant with a lovely sunset to view. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. Great value for money and wonderful food. Will be recommending and visiting again.

Very pleasant country pub for a Christmas meal. Not very many options for vegetarians (a normal Christmas meal with all the veg, stuffing, sauces but with something like a good nut roast would be, I'm sure, a crowded pleaser; roast veg in a vegetarian oil of course!) Attentive service, reasonably priced, and all the food was lovely.

Had Sunday lunch here with my wife and neither of us could fault it, from the friendly, prompt service, to the very tasty and excellently presented food, which in my case was sea bass on buttery crushed potatoes and spinach. My wife had the roast beef roast. It was our first visit " on spec" and it won't be our last.

The meal was beautiful a lovely experience

Slightly disappointing meal. We both had fish and chips but the batter was burnt and mushy peas cold. However the chunky chips were delicious. The cost of the meal wasn't overly expensive but compared to the Fylde fish and chip restaurants it was and sadly its quality didn't come close to the food served in Fylde. The surroundings were excellent and if full would have created a convivial atmosphere alas the premises were devoid of customers at 6.30 on a Thursday evening

Enjoyed a really lovely lunch at The New Scarisbrick this week. The tempura prawns to start were just delicious as was the rump steak meal for mains, which was cooked perfectly. Although the outside of the building doesn't look inviting, once inside the venue is lovely. I would definitely recommend this resturant and will hopefully be returning soon.

Despite appearances, this is a restaurant not a pub. Our meal turned out to be surprisingly good and, if you stick to the set menu, very good value. Excellent waitresses.

Drove past this place a number of times and always wante sto try it. We arrived at 5.30pm. Straight to our table which was basically attached to another with 4 people on it. I even sais to the woman next to us i may aswel be sat on your knee. No chance of a private conversation for either tables. Then waited about 20mins before our drink orders were taken. Only to be told they didnt have the cocktail we wanted. Then we were told they has no chicken or appl crumble. Both of which i wanted . The waitress then said we are always the same around this time as we close in an hr. To which i was abit baffled by as people still remained to be seated well after us. Anyway as for the food i could not fauly it. Starters mains and desserts were all top marks, just wish there was abit more on our plates. Aa for the drinks i ended up with a few san Miguel's all of which were terrible pints with not head at all. And after our mains we waited about 40mins befor ei had to grab a waitress and say we are waitimg for somone to take our dessert orders. To which she replied do you still actually wnat desserts?. All in all food was great but the service not so great. And there really need to loose a few tables as its way to cramped.

This pub blew me away with their kindness.We were sitting in the garden on a sunny day when I went to get a round of drinks.As I came out of the bar with a tray of drinks, the wind blew the drinks over and all over me.The chap behind the br came over , mopped up and then replaced the beers without any extra charge. How good was that?

Comfortable, large restaurant with a bar, efficient service and had a delicious lunchtime meal at a reasonable price. A fairly remote location, but on the main A5147 road about a third of the way between Maghull and Southport.

Visited on 11th September to celebrate an important family occasion.What can I say other than Paul and his team ensured our visit was momentous.We asked for some extras in terms of the table setting and everything was delivered to perfection.The service and food was excellent, everyone commented on how wonderful the food was, cooked and presented to perfection.As a family, we do visit the restaurant and have always been happy with the service and quality of the food.Paul and his team did an absolutely amazing job yesterday and we just wanted to express our thanks and will have no hesitation continuing to support the wonderful service you offer.Here’s to many more celebrations at the Scarisbrick Arms xx

First visit today after a relative's recommendation! Gorgeous food throughout the 3 course meal! Had the Portuguese Fish Cakes, Rump Steak and Belgian Waffle on the 3 course Table d'Hote menu. Absolutely delicious! Presented beautifully, good service, friendly staff & lovely classy yet comfy seating. The White Zinfandel Rose wine went down very nicely too! Menu is a bit limited (T d'H) but everything we ordered was available. We'll definitely be back!

If you are cycling the Liverpool Leeds canal this is a nice place for a pit stop food and drink

Good quality food if limited in selection but acceptable value set menu. Coffee was rather poor however. Pleasant and polite service, swift and efficient. Decor could do with a freshen up. 4 Stars.

Somewhere i have driven past probably Hundreds of times and always thought We will try there one day, Reserved a table last night and I have to say it was a Suprise, The place is nice and spacious, very attentive staff and the Food was the nicest I i have had for a long time. Not a massive menu as others have mentioned but thats how Chef gets it right.. Well done to Scarisbrick Arms.

Called in on Friday 13th August for tea. It was amazing. Friendly, efficient service. Opted for 3 courses for £19.95. Very good value for money. Food was absolutely fantastic. Small supplement on some dishes. Will definitely be back.

Went for a family evening meal. Friendly staff met us. Had drink in bar area before dinner. Restaurant decorated lovely Staff very efficient and nothing was a problem. Food was served quickly and hot. Great choice on menu and good value for set menu. Will definitely return. Worth a visit.

Wonderful evening meals spent with wife and daughter after having a fun day in the Farmer Ted. Portion of foods were brilliant huge. Yesss The taste of my 3courses were fab. YESSSS Place inside even the toilet were very decent. COOL Only downsides were table and chair were wonky and few flies were in flying round which nothing they could do much about it I guess In general, happy man I was.

My wife is in a wheelchair and not only is there not a disabled toilet, the door to toilet is inaccessible for a wheelchair.. It is a long walk from the toilet door to the stall which made it a struggle... Food was patchy.. Prawn cocktail was delicious.. Sunday roast came with mushy broccoli and carrots... Needless to say we won't be revisiting

Polite girl greeted & took my order at the bar, My Wife & I had a lovely Cappuccino☕ & I had some really tasty & to my surprise a very large portion of fries.😋💦🍟 The seating arrangement outside the front was tasteful black rattan with a glass table top the flowers were pretty. We took our Dog for a stretch around the back there are plenty of picnic tables on the grassed area & room to enjoy the canal view 😀👍
