Had a brilliant night Food and service was amazing Totally enjoyed it

The staff were rude, my food took ages to arrive, eventhough I saw it ready on the counter. When it came to me it was cold. The staff were kind to the other customers but were rude to my mother and I. We were different from the other guests (being minorities) and did not have a portugese speaking individual with us. This appears to have affected the quality of service we received. Either that or it was because we were the only minorities in the shop. We were ignored most of the time, weren't even offered any sauces for our food when I heard the waiter offer sauces to every other table they gave meals to. It was extremely uncomfortable and I will never go here again. The food was not worth the wait or the poor service.

We had a superb night at Piri Piri on Friday 28th Feb. Great food & fabulous service from a fantastic, friendly & welcoming staff. As a party of 14 gentlemen (now elderly, let’s face it! 😂), with as many as 10 variations in our orders for starters, and 14 for mains, we could not be described as the easiest guests to accommodate. All of the Piri Piri staff, both front of house and kitchen, coped with those demands without any fuss, helping us enjoy an evening to remember. Piri Piri Restaurant Ormskirk comes highly recommended by myself & my colleagues, and I know that I speak for our entire party when I say that we would definitely return in the future. Thank you, Piri Piri!

Great restaurant. Food was delicious, everyone in the party was of that opinion. Service was above and beyond and the place was well looked after, facilities spotless. Will definitely be going there again.

I have been coming here for 25 years but on my last visit I was very disappointed. Gone is the daily menu. The chicken piri piri is lemon chicken which you add your own piri piri sauce to. The correct way to cook it is to baste the chicken whilst cooking with the sauce so the chicken absorbs the flavour . Putting sauce on after is not authentic Portuguese chicken piri piri. I could do this at home. Please go back to your original way of cooking it.

Had lunch here today with a friend after a long break due to illness. This restaurant is so amazing and the staff are so helpful and understanding and go the extra mile for you. The menu is extensive and the ambiance is amazing. They can’t do enough for you without being in your face. Customer service is first class and the food is so tasty. . I eat there with my late husband for many years on a weekly basis and I’m glad that over eleven years later that they have continued to value their customers, provide excellent food in a beautiful relaxed atmosphere and their customer service standards continue to be very high. We have been many times before and always enjoyed. But this time was very disappointed. Visited with the same group of friend and the food was very average and very over priced for what you got. Service was poor, wine just put on the table not asked if we would like to try and although they said they'd bring a wine cooler it never materialised. They forgot one of our main courses which they apologised for, however it arrived when the rest of us had finished. Our party are very familiar with Portuguese cuisine and sadly this falls way short. It's a great venue and used to be excellent food and service. But sadly it now falls into basic pub grub territory and hugely overpriced.

Been here many times including twice at new year ,always been fabulous. Well last night was the exact opposite, it seems the place has changed hands .I witnessed 3 people sending there food back my sirloin aslo went back it was awful never again.Its a shame because the place looks amazing

Absolutely fantastic. The food was tasty, atmosphere was good, prompt service. Lucy was our main server and she was so lovely and cheerful. The only critique I have is that they had no vegetarian options for dessert. Besides that, everything was great and we will be back :)

Went on Saturday the food was amazing until I found a long black hair in my food my friends finished there food, we told the waitress when collecting plates, I was offered another meal but my friend's had finished, I thought they would knock it off my bill but never even offered

Food swimming in butter uncooked pork the fat on the chops still raw garlic mushrooms was a breadcrumb topped mushroom very poor chef smoking outside on arrival hope he had washed his hands before cooking ladies that served us very attentive sorry wont be back

I had been told this place was good my birthday my choice unfortunately chef outside smoking menu was not what we got garlic mushrooms we got 1 breaded on top of the mushroom pork loin fat was still on raw it was supposed to be pork madalion with mash and veg and it came swimming in butter my friend had a larger shandy and the glass was disgustingly dirty sorry for the review girl waiting on very pleasant wont be back

We ate here tonight with my parents, who come here regularly. My dad has dementia and the staff go above and beyond in looking after him every time they go in. But it’s not just that. The food is fantastic, lots of choice, big portions and great value for money. Highly recommended.

Great food: piri piri chicken was beautifully grilled, we liked also the samon and the "cataplana". Great and attentive service, good sized portions, great price per value. Definatelly we shall be back more than once.

Went here on Mother's Day for lunch, and as usual meals were excellent and service was quick....we visit here approx 3 -4 times a year and are never disappointed ....staff are courtious and helpful....looking forward to next visit

If you want great food in Ormskirk, this place is the place to be. The staff are very attentive and professional..the food is to die for. It really is. I recommend the muscles and sirloin...yummy . excellent food and evening...can't wait to go back..

this is a place in ormskirk. being there for years. there is parking opposite the restaurant. It is a popular place, probably the reason for it is the price because the food is really, really poor,cheap and average

Not been for a few years but it is still a great value for money restaurant. Mid week fixed price menu had plenty of choice and variety plus a free bottle of wine. I had steak and wife had the stuffed chicken, both cooked perfectly and delivered with a smile from our waitresses. Probably the best restaurant in ormskirk town centre for great food, nice wine, good atmosphere and thoughtful service. Will be back again soon. THANKS

The vegetable soup was lovely. Piri piri chicken was tender and beautifully cooked.It wasn't spicey, you added your own heat with the condiments on the table.

A party of 11 attended, we had to pre order from a particular menu which we weren't aware of until the day before. I understand the concept of doing this as it's a busy time of year. The place was really quiet and they still got the order wrong on both starters and mains. The food was cold, probs been made really early due to pre ordering, not one person enjoyed it. The meatballs were definitely from a tin. The atmosphere was not the same as when Paulo owned it. A random guy with a coat on was pouring pints smelling of cigarettes quite strongly. The whole night was a disappointment. We've been regulars for years but that's finished. It seems people are voting with their feet hence the quiet restaurant.

The food at Piri Piri is always amazing, and the staff are wonderful and welcoming, the restaurant is perfectly decorated and the Portuguese music that is played is always so atmospheric and catchy. It is a truly special place and I recommend anyone visiting Ormskirk gives it a try! :)

Excellent service and delicious food in a very well maintained and decorated establishment.

32 of us returned to the Piri had upstairs to ourselves, we were waited on by Sofia and Miguel who provided excellent service nothing was too much trouble. This is the first time we had visited since the new owners have taken over. Everybody commented on the quality and portion size of the food which had increased since our last visit. The menu was the one that included a bottle of wine per couple £22.95 excellent value. We shall be returning on our next Table tennis night out. The meals were served promptly with no delay all getting served at the same time.

Wonderful evening, the chicken is wonderful, perfect, all the food is excellent! Service is very friendly, it's a superb place, relaxing fun atmosphere. My Portuguese friend said it reminded them of home, how can you beat that!

We recently visited the restaurant , a few months after out previous visits . The meal was dreadful . I explained the problem to the waiter who laughed it off and that was the end of it . The bowl was too small for the meal (lamb cutlets) and so the meat was plonked on top of the soggy mash . In order to cut the rather undercooked lamb , you had to submerge the meat in the runny mash to reach the plate where you discovered the veg underneath the slop of mash potatoes. I will not visit this establishment again any time soon as it was a terrible experience .

Meal was nice, but drinks are expensive. Service was extremely slow despite us preordering for a bigger party. The food was good when it did eventually come. I think the waitresses work very hard, but I won’t go again.

Me and my girlfriend had planned to train to Liverpool for a Saturday night out however, decided last minute to stay in ormskirk, we figured that everywhere would be fully booked as we were turned away from a few places but fortunately, there was a table of two available, we both got the Saturday night menu where I had the sausage croquettes and my partner had the soup of the day. Then for our mains I had the mixed grill and my partner had the Piri piri half chicken. The portion sizes were amazing and the food was also amazing. My only critique is that you can’t request how spicy to make your piri piri chicken as we personally like spice. Other than that the food was amazing, the service was amazing and the vibe was lovely. We will definitely be returning.

Lovely fresh and tasty food. It was my 85yr old uncle's birthday and they brought out a little Portuguese tart with a candle and sang him Happy Birthday! So nice.

Everything...and I mean everything was perfect. From staff to premises to food....all amazing. Went as a birthday treat after being let down at another restaurant. Was made to feel welcome and staff were st attentive. Nothing was too much trouble

I had intended on visiting on Friday to celebrate a birthday lunch, only to find that the the restaurant was closed or had closed early. Nonetheless I returned a week later having booked in advance on a Thursday market day. I have eaten extensively in Portugal and in particular I have acquired a taste for what is considered one of the national dishes.. namely Bacalhau. Knowing that it "ideally" requires preparation time I pre-ordered Bacalhau to be cooked / roasted on the bone. I cannot fault the service, staff or the ambience of the restaurant I was disappointed with the cooking of the Bacahhau. Instead of falling off the bone I found that it had been grossly overcooked and was dry to the point that it was burnt on the skin side. I was particularly disappointed because I had pre-ordered the salt cod and I gained the impression that it had been pre cooked and kept warm for too long. This is the 2nd occasion that I have been disappointed with the cooking of what is a national dish even asking for it to be served up in traditional style with sides of fresh salad, onion and plain boiled potatoes.. I have no complaints about any of the other dishes I have tried previously. Come on Piri Piri I know you can do better with the preparation and cooking of your salt cod..

The food was absolutely to die for, we had a sea food starter, the best we've eating to date, then picanha on a squew that was cooked to perfection and a side of chips and the most delicious salad! Luis.. Tive oportunidade de experimentar várias entradas e estava tudo delicioso. Por último, o preço - não achei caro para a quantidade e qualidade servida. Apesar de ser longe da minha casa, com certeza irei voltar!! Recomendo bastante!!

We absolutely love coming here! We have been a few times & never had a bad meal. We visited today & both had prawns & beef a casa. Everything was cooked to perfection as always! Sangria on point & great service. Atmosphere is always chilled & relaxed. We look forward to our next date day. Fantastic highly recommend.

Have been a regular here for 6 or 7 years but today as a family we had our worst experience. Chicken seemed microwaved and unable to eat and sticky toffee pudding was lukewarm at best, ( the baby enjoyed it ) No management on site. Really disappointed. Will not come again until reviews are better.
