6pm on a Saturday & the place had 11 customers, 9 just having coffee/tea.
We stopped in for a snack. Staff were friendly enough.
Fish finger butty, bowl of fries, a tea & a pint of brew dog. £27.
The butty was the biggest disappointment. Thin white bread as if from a supermarket budget sliced loaf and over toasted. The 'fish fingers' were very dry & and overdone, like chewing on Gandhi's flip flop.
Only 3 brew dog beers on tap, rest in bottles.
Two, single toilets (one a baby changing area) which I think would be an issue if the place were near full. Food was overpriced & poor.
Wasn't a good visit in summary.
Last night, we had dinner at Bem Brasil, located right across from our hotel.
We were welcomed warmly. The experience starts with ordering your side dishes. They recommend choosing four sides per person, but we found that a bit too much and started by sharing four dishes: fries, rice, bean and beef stew, and garlic mushrooms.
The servers walk around with the rest of the food — various grilled meats are carved right at your table. Different types of steak, sometimes plain, sometimes spicy, were very tasty. Chicken wrapped in bacon and sausages also made the rounds, along with grilled pineapple and garlic bread.
I had ordered an extra side salad, but unfortunately, it never arrived.
The service was friendly. When I declined meat a couple of times, one of the servers immediately asked if there was something else I’d prefer. I mentioned I’d love some garlic bread, and it came by on the next round — a nice touch.
It’s essentially a buffet restaurant where you don’t have to get up — the food comes to you. A fun concept. Sometimes you do have to wait a little longer for your favorite cut of meat to come around, but you can always ask for it.
Kids under 9 eat for free. For 2 adults and 3 big drinks (beer, wine and apple juice) er paid £100. Pricey, but worth the money.
Gracias ☺️
We had a group of six and when we arrived at the restaurant in the late afternoon, it was nearly empty. We had no reservation but decided to try it based upon other favorable reviews. The staff sat us in a corner near a door on a very wet & chilly Liverpool afternoon. A few of the ladies were cold and when we asked to be moved, the female employee was not receptive to our request. Smile a little, you work in the service industry.
After finally being moved to a warmer part of the restaurant and ordering, the pizzas arrived completely black and burnt on the bottom of the crust. We said something to the waiter and asked him to tell the chef, but he just laughed it off as if we were joking. Another member of our group ordered the Risotto which she said was bland and dried out, almost to the point of being inedible. She only ate a very small part of it. None of us would return to this restaurant. There are too many other options in Liverpool and if the weather was better on this day we might have ended up somewhere diferent.
Albert Dock, Liverpool, L3 4AD, United Kingdom, England
We walked in and were immediately greeted by the coldest, most irritated girl imaginable. She seemed genuinely annoyed that we had the nerve to interrupt her chat with a friend just to ask for a table. She led us to the filthiest, stickiest table in the place. We asked someone to wipe it down, which they did — half-heartedly — and it remained just as sticky as before.
When the food finally arrived, it was clear it had been microwaved. Parts of the mashed potatoes were ice cold while other parts were scalding hot. As for the “supreme chicken” that was supposed to have truffle oil? There was no trace of it whatsoever. It tasted like absolutely nothing special.
Then came the final insult: the bill. A 10% service charge had been automatically added without anyone even bothering to ask if we agreed to it. Since when do you sneak charges onto a bill without permission? If you don’t check carefully, you’re paying extra for service you absolutely did not receive. I asked them to remove the service charge — and made it clear why.
Needless to say, I will never be returning to this place, and I absolutely do not recommend it to anyone.
Visited the mobile unit at Kaz Gardens. Never been spoken to by somebody in such a vile and aggressive manner for simply trying to buy some food. The woman was absolutely horrible to our group and made everyone feel completely unwelcome ordering
Wow! Is this the best fish and chips in Liverpool??!! Super fresh cod, cracking batter and crunchy chips. Plus to-die for view of Albert docks. Life is good
