Came in for a creamy pint and was not let down. However , it was £9 for a pint and a glass of coke which seems very expensive but that might be normal prices for city folk

Very unfriendly bar person. Irish bar but wouldn't put Ireland match on big screen or play match commentary. Served wrong drinks. Small flies, like fruit flies about the place. Drinks expensive.Didnt have any food so can't comment. Bad choice, won't return.

I ordered spiced rum and they gave me dark rum, when I asked them about it they told me it was spiced rum without even smelling or trying it even though my friend bought it and didnt see me at all! Argued enough to threaten to kick me out if I kept complaining but I asked around locals and they all agreed it was dark

The best Guinness is Liverpool. Been visiting this pub for years. Definitely give this place a try If you're visiting the city

Pub dando vueltas por esta parte de la ciudad mi hermano gemelo y yo decidimos pasar por Pogue Mahones, hemos estado aquí muchas veces a lo largo de los años, siempre lo pasamos bien y así lo demostró en nuestra última visita a aquí. Un pub irlandés lo suficientemente decente, el interior es magnífico, con múltiples habitaciones, un llamativo bar domina la sala principal, decoración y mobiliario del pub, ladrillos a la vista, esmaltes publicitarios vintage adornan las paredes, pantallas grandes para disfrutar del deporte, chimeneas de leña real y un montón de opciones de asientos repartidos por todo este pub, es solo un pub muy bueno para relajarse. Estábamos aquí en una noche de enero amargamente frío, pub estaba ocupado con un gran ambiente, pedimos un guinness cada uno, servido de la manera correcta, incluso dando tiempo para el asentamiento muy importante, nos relajamos y empapamos de la gran vibra en este pub ocupado y popular mientras bebíamos nuestro guinness. Guinness servido aquí es bueno, espeso y cremoso , rebosante de sabor, muy fácil de beber especialmente cuando se sirve helado frío como en este pub. Ambos disfrutamos mucho de nuestra guinness aquí antes de seguir adelante y aunque nuestra visita fue solo fugaz como en cualquier otra visita a aquí nos lo pasamos muy bien. Pogue Mahones es fácil de localizar a lo largo de Seel Street. El horario de apertura es; Lunes a domingo, abierto desde mediodía. Vale la pena comprobar si estás en la zona.

I've been there a few times. Live music is great and the people & atmosphere is top. The staff are not overwhelmingly friendly but you get the drink you order. The prices for a pint are quite expensive.

Over £6 for a pint of Heineken. Loads of screens with darts on. Bland music. Nah.

One of the staff made a mistake. Not a problem, these things happen! But the attitude of the manager, who refused to acknowledge that the mistake had happened and fabricated a story about what 'must have happened' instead, was terrible. She clearly doesn't know how to run a hospitality venue nor how to speak to people politely and respectfully.

Muy decepcionado que escuchamos cosas tan buenas sobre este lugar y el Guinness, pero por desgracia no era genial en absoluto, muy caro a £ 6 : 30 una pinta tantas mejores opciones en Liverpool

Nice pint but the toilets were very bad with loads of flyers very of putting I told the dad staff but nothing was done I would definitely not recommend using the toilets as discussing

I searched on Google for live traditional music options in Liverpool. Pogue Malone’s came up as a third choice but the only place with live music on a Wednesday evening. I arrived early to check it out and had a pint. It seemed fine: a tad geared to tourists but that’d be expected in the area. I was looking forward to seeing the band and made a quick trip to The Cavern Club 👍 and made my way back to order their vegan pie as I’m a vegetarian. All was good till I started eating. The first bite had a small crunch, the second had another small crunch… the pie tasted good so I cautiously went for a third bite. I bit down on a 1/4” piece of something sharp and hard. I stopped eating and took it back to the bar. That’s when things got sideways… The young lady in charge of the bar was very unprofessional. She said that they’d not had any other complaints and I assured her that yes there was a problem with the pie. She acted mildly rude and dismissive and asked well what did I want to do. Her younger male bar worker looked at her sideways. I said well, you should check your pies because there’s a problem. She was sassy and dismissive and I told her so which was a BIG MISTAKE. She could not let any criticism go and proceeded to make it an issue until I had to leave. In short Don’t

Went on an live Irish music night. Just happened to be my (legal) wedding day and we had an absolute blast. 💯 Would go back 👏👍 reasonably priced drink and friendly staff, amazing music.

Service from the barman was friendly and efficient. It's a pretty standard Irish bar, that had the rugby on, but is expensive for the standard of the bar. A bitter and a single vodka and cola cost just under £13.

Bad staff aggressive when challenged on taking away an unfinished drink, despite having been specifically asked not to 30 seconds before. Terrible service and overpriced, go to neighbouring pubs with much better standards

Been here before for a brilliant night out ,so this time it was for a quiet couple during the day(16.00) a few people in and a stag party had just left lol.Really welcoming bar for either a night out or a chill session over a few beers.

I wanted to go to a pub and have a pint before I fly back to Belfast tomorrow. When I arrived the bouncers stood at the door blocking me from getting in, staring at me like lost puppies. When I asked can I go in I was told not with those on (tracksuit bottoms) I was also on my own which I don't think they liked as crowds is better buisiness. I was only in Liverpool with family for a few days but I will be coming back again in the summer with a group of friends. I'll be bringing jeans next time but it won't be for this pub.

Top pub with top Guinness great location and friendly staff well worth a visit

Really wanted to visit here because of the podcast have a word ! I drove up from Bristol and planned a night - only reason the bouncers gave me was I’m not allowed in because I’m on my own ….. surely a sober lad on his own causes less stress then a group? I would totally understand if I was drunk out my mind - but being turned away for very little reason really did put a downer on my evening in Liverpool.

Awful to expensive barstaff dreadful

I don't know when they ruined this pub, but they have. The classic bar is gone, the decor is fake Irish when it used to be authentic. Music used to be the real craic, not pish acoustic pop. Lager is pisswater too. Bar staff are great, but the pub has gone to the Weatherspoons.

Pub and bar hopping around the wonderful Ropewalks district of Liverpool my twin brother and I decided to drop into Pogue Mahone Pub, been here many times over the years and always had a good time and so it proved on our latest visit. I love the look of this pub, interior is superb, multi roomed, exposed brickwork, a real fireplace, great decor and furnishings, big screens to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, its just a really good pub to unwind in. We were here on a Wednesday night, pub was busy with a great atmosphere, we ordered a pint of guinness, these were poured in the correct manner even allowing time for the all important settle, we chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular pub while sipping our guinness. A big fan of the guinness served in The Pogue Mahone Pub ,thick,creamy and most importantly iced cold, it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a quality pint of the black stuff and sat with my twin brother, best beer companion in the world. We both really enjoyed our guinness in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to The Pogue Mahone Pub we had a great time. The Pogue Mahone Pub is easy to locate along Seel Street. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, open from midday. Well worth checking out if you're in the area .

Fantastic gym in the heart of Liverpool had an amazing night and his wonderful pub that is authentic and has amazing music as well as a great range of beers and whiskers for a fun filled evening. This is definitely one of the places to go on a weekend in Liverpool.

Me and my girlfriend tried to walk in, the bouncer refused us because he said we were too drunk. We hadn’t had too much to drink. Within 5 seconds he said “I’ll smash your boyfriend’s head in”. Never had that experience before. Bouncers seemed like they were actively looking to fight with people.

Welcoming, friendly place for an after work drink or two. Good bar staff and plenty of room. The only negative was that the music was stopped in favour of football!

Lively Irish pub with fab Guiness and good live music. BUT the toilets where an absolute disgrace. According to my wife the ladies lavs were equally terrible. They don't need signs to the loos, just follow the p%?? stream and your nose.

Love this establishment. I’m a regular but the bogs smell like a mortuary, horse stables, crack den and rabbit hutch that’s been left untouched since 1955. Bork like f**k when I have a piss but then come out to great booze, wonderful staff and a lovely atmosphere. Please sort the toilets / drains out!!! Honesty is the best policy.

Great atmosphere, not quite matched by the service. This place is a great, traditional Irish bar. Thoroughly enjoy every night I go in here. Guinness is great. Music is usually to match in quality. Well located in Liverpool City centre, I would recommend here for anyone who wants to visit an Irish bar when in Liverpool.

Ordered a double gin and tonic with pint of Camden Hell and they charged £21.00, £16.00 for a double gin and tonic, crazy that you also need to buy a bottle of tonic too. You can buy that particular bottle of gin for £40.00. When we queried it the waitress laughed and said I don’t make the prices up. In the current day they shouldn’t be taking advantage of people.

Great little pub, shows GAA matches. Was there yesterday, barmaid was 1st class.

Called in for a quick pint on a hot sweaty shopping trip. It was quiet apart from a couple of knobs stood by the bar f'ing and jeffing....spolit it really!

Classic old school Liverpool Irish club, brilliant bar and atmosphere, great guinness and brilliant selection of other beers and spirits. Also had a great selection of taytos 😅👌. Open late and a must visit.
