Mccooley's in Liverpool

Good, service slow, but was busy, Excellent location, decent music, decent atmosphere, plenty of room to stand, or sit. It was OK, pricey drinks, but then everywhere is in Liverpool, unless you are in a spoons pub.

Best bar in Liverpool even better waitresses. One of the slot machines malfunctioned resulting in my £2 being lost however the gorgeous Rebecca kindly offered to compensate me out of her own wages. Will be back

What a dump ! Worst Irish bar ever ..the girl working the bar was rude and unfriendly and the Guinness was not good at all avoid at all costs ..we ended up at Pogue Mahone which is a proper Irish pub…..so no reply about the bad attitude of the staff member hmmm interesting reply just shows how classy you are ! NOT

It's hit or miss. All vibe dependent. Staff friendly. Prepared for be patted down.

Never been before and found it a nice relaxing place to be, great live band on, 2 pool tables, think I seen darts board, loads of room plenty of places to sit, I enjoyed the time I spent here and would recommend

We came here to watch the football or rugby game. Instead we had a really really bad blond singer. The sound was awful. Very disappointed ! Don't come here if you want to watch sport

We went for lunch at McCooley's, a first time visit. It's a typical Irish pub, with a cool, friendly vibe. There was table service (which we hadn't expected), and the staff were really nice. The menu is a bit limited, but ok and prices are reasonable. Unfortunately, just before our food arrived, the football match started, which was being televised and was on screens all over the pub. We hadn't particularly noticed the screens before, but when the match started, they put the sound on and it was so ridiculously loud that we literally had to shout at each other to continue our conversation! Otherwise - we really liked the place.

A really good bar in Liverpool has all Liverpool songs played around the bar.

Bunch of RACISTS! I was deeply disappointed with the treatment my friends and I received at McCooleys recently. Despite being sober and not involved in any disturbance, we were unfairly removed by security after an accidental spill by a stranger. We were initially given no reason for our removal, no apologies and later faced false accusations of being drunk. This experience felt discriminatory and unprofessional. I'm still expecting a formal apology and assurance that this will not happen again. But the silence is very telling.

Came in at 10am for breakfast, we got an Irish fry and added on Hash browns. Very cheap was only £7.45 with a £1 extra charge for the Hash browns. And coffee or tea is included with unlimited refills. Food was hot and delicious, one of the best frya I've had in a long time!

About three months ago I rated this place as 4 stars (quiet, unassuming), but that was in the cold chaos of the 'Beast From the East'. In the warmer light of a late May day: friendly door staff, great beer selection, and wide - ranging inclusive music... Great bar. Difficult not to feel a bit old with the crowds of students roaming the venue. Give it a go though.

** Honest Review ** Location for our group of 11 was perfect as we were staying nearby. We visited yesterday as part of my mums hen do in Liverpool. On arrival - welcoming and a lovely atmosphere Breakfast was nice and really enjoyed by all However, how our waitress was treated by staff above her was unprofessional. To make anyone feel so humiliated In front of 11 paying customers and feel like it was her fault that you are incapable of informing your customers of the times they can order (add this to the menu or inform your customers) also we are in 2024 you should be aware of gluten allergies and be more willing to cater for individuals with food allergies. Our waitress went above and beyond for all 11 of us and is a true credit to your business. Thank you so much for your time effort and your caring manner Caitlin! ⭐️⭐️

We came this morning after a trip to Wetherspoons left us disappointed due to refurbishing it was closed. However, when we approached this place the girl there was absolutely lovely. We explained we were a hen party and there was 11 of us. We know it’s a big ask especially for smaller companies. We were sat in a great place, a nice long table. The waitress (Kaitlin; excuse me if I’ve spelt that incorrectly) took our orders so bubbly, lovely and polite. We explained my grandma was Coeliac and couldn’t consume Gluten. Kait was so accommodating to this checking all the allergen sheets to see what she could eat and helped us. Even checking the bean tin! I thought this were so professional. She then suggested Jacket Potato as these were gluten free for my grandma which was great. She took our order professionally splitting our bill appropriately to suit our needs. On taking our orders to what I presume was the kitchen. K seemingly got treat with absolute disgusting behaviour from some other member(s) of staff. Most definitely an overhead / manager. She came out to our table sobbing her heart out, we felt so bad. She apologised for selling jacket potatoes that weren’t allowed to be sold at that time (however menu didn’t state that). We chose other items and reassured her everything was ok and we would be fine. K was so upset, it actually hurt all of our parties souls. That someone above her would have made her that way all for a silly mistake that was corrected. The manager took her off our order and put someone else on our table. They got some drinks incorrect and some food orders wrong. If they left K with us I doubt these mistakes would have been made as she seemed an amazing member of staff and really reliable and I thought it just was not necessary to do so and make her look incapable. The woman who served us then in a white shirt wasn’t smiling or been friendly. She made us feel like we weren’t welcome. Our hen do had a great time food was lovely but not all meals were correct or drinks. We felt like we had to accept them to stop staff getting the brunt of the managers. K came and took all payments swiftly and so organised. Luckily by this time she had composed herself and started to get back to herself. All eleven of us said how amazing she is. I really think managers need to treat their staff with respect especially ones like Kaitlin she’s fantastic and a real credit to McCooleys. We will miss her!! I don’t want no trouble for anyone from this review, just staff to treat each other with more respect where it’s due.

Always go for breakfast but today waited so long. Then brought breakfast said wait on tea as no cups. Brought tea halfway through breakfast said only one teaspoon so use will have to share. Forgot sausages on big breakfast. One tea between 2 people it was unlimited so asked for another pot never got brought so walked out. Very disappointed

My review is biased based on personal preference. Concert Square is a party zone with lots of bars clustered together. This is so not my scene so I couldn't really enjoy thzis experience. The bar itself is huge - it's an Irish sports bar so perfect for watching sporting events etc. Guinness in a plastic glass... Not for me thanks. Service was great though as staff are friendly and work with a smile.

Went to bar to order breakfast was told table service fair enough, so sat down 15 mins later still no order been taken others who had walked in after us had there order taken wouldn’t mind were a group of 11 so couldn’t be forgotten about, one order was finally taken server was very rude we asked for additional extras which shouldn’t of been a issue but was made to feel like it was a massive problem

On Sunday Night I tried to get into the Club but I was refuse entry by the Irish Bouncer but it had nothing to do with me being on me own it's more of had something to him not liking me he just said no before I was even giving a chance to get a word in this also happened not long ago too & I am rather concerned about this & it's only because I had a problem of getting in the Club a while back when the Irish bloke was working on the doors & I was wondering if he has got a problem with me or something which he seems to have.

really expensive on a Saturday night for what it is. £8 doubles are just not justified. It's not even a club. The club across the road was selling £2 doubles for goodness sake.

Nice place to go on a night out

Me and my son went for a game of pool it was £10.00 for 1 hour what is o.k but the 2 drinks was £10.00 as well over priced for 1 larger and 1 coke . Tables are a little to close together need to keep asking people to move...

Only drank in McCooleys watching rugby all afternoon. Live band inside too. Good food and excellent staff service. The outside square part was rocking and very lively when we came out and had been all afternoon. Great vibe

visited here on monday. nice bar however the blonde girl (assuming she was a manager) was one of the rudest people i have ever met. horrible to both customers and staff. made the whole experience awful. will not be returning if she is working. everyone else was lovely.

We didn't stay here. We came in for a drink and some food. While we were already there early, it was very, very quiet. It's quite a big vanu. There are pool tables if you want to have a little fun. We got Picky and had some food. There is a big menu and handy for little bits, as seen in the picture below. Good venu and busy at night.

The security guy was so rude and awful he wouldn’t let me in and im not coming here again until he is fired it was on tuesday 9 of January 2024

Came here today with my partner to grab some food and drinks and the place is lovely. Got some chicken tenders and potato skins which were amazing and the prices for drinks were cheap too. Had excellent service by Iqra who made sure we had everything we needed she was amazing. Would highly recommend this place.

Quite possibily the only Irish pub in the world where you turn invisible while standing at the bar. Nice bright, open space inside though.

On Friday 01/09/23 my little pen knife was taken off of me at the entrance which is understandable but when leaving I was told that I cannot pick it up until morning, got a bit annoyed but came back in the morning just to hear that they dont have it☹

Rubbish don't go. The music is stop and start, have a dj but don't think he does anything that's worth paying him. ABBA followed by west life followed by Bruno mars followed by west life again.. Lager was warm, the staff walking round all smell of Body Odour... And it was empty at 9pm on a Saturday (2nd sept) Waste of£14 for pint of carling and an archers & lemonode

Appears to be the hot spot in Concert Square! The busiest club we found all weekend, playing solid 10/10 bangers. 🕺🏼 Imagine an Irish bar but everything’s heightened ten-fold! ☘️ Security staff were definitely more miserable compared with all other bars/clubs we visited over the weekend. 😤

Just wanted to say a massive thank you to Aoife for looking after our large group of 50 people Saturday at Mccooleys in concert square. Couldn't have gone any better ended up staying there a lot longer than we first anticipated as we enjoyed so much. Nothing was too much trouble for Aoife and she kept the drinks flowing for us all from 12pm-8pm. What a venue staff were great, brilliant atmosphere. All the boys enjoyed.

Very bad customer services, the manager was so rude, the closed and I forgot my jacket there, I was asking them to give me the jacket with my car keys in it, I was even begging them but they refused and talked to me so badly👎🏻👎🏻

I found it interesting to get to know the bars in the area and I did and when I tried this place the guy rudely told me that you can't enter if you’re alone..::: / if you travel alone then what? very absurd rules. Worst place ever …..disappointing.
