5+ minute wait for table to be set-up (had a booking. Extremely hot, condensation on all the windows. Service was very good and pleasant considering how busy the place was. No complaints about food or drinks. I was down from Scotland for belated Annfield birthday tour and to scatter some of my late wife's ashes on the 'Dock'. Lynn had been treated at St Paul's, Royal Liverpool over 3 years. So this meal finished off a hectic 2 days. I would return to the Gusto and thanks to Liverpool for your usual warm welcome 🙏

We had a nice meal. It is a large restaurant with a great atmosphere in a super location by the docks. Service was slow. The food was great, I had the girasol ravioli and the kid’s sourdough pizzas were well received. We did not have a booking on a busy night but it was not an issue, nice bar.

This restaurant will make sure you come again!!!! The food was amazing, great location. Probably the best Italian restaurant I've ever been to. I would definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience Family meal on Christmas Eve. We have been to gusto many times over the years it used to be a go to for any kind of celebration. However recently we have seen it decline. Not only have the prices increased a fair amount the quality does not reflect it. The portions are also tiny particularly the carbonara. The garlic bread starter was cold and dry like cardboard. The mains took an hour to come after the starter which although busy to begin with it became quiet and we watched multiple people come after us be served before us. 2 of us ordered carbonara that looked slapped on the plate. One drowning in sauce and the other bone dry. No consistency and left hungry afterwards. No apology for the wait either. Sad to say we probably won’t be back

Discretionary service charge with no way to opt-out without making a fuss is disgusting. *****The restaurant will argue it is written on the menue***** The lighting in the restaurant is terrible ant times and very dimly lit. I didn’t see it written anywhere on the menu and although i will not dispute it being there I never saw it and struggled to read the menu at best as it is. It may have been written on the menu but would a customer receive the same service upon request if one said ‘I’m not paying a service charge, please can you take my order.’ - i doubt it. Also, unpon receipt of the bill; a customer saying ‘I’m not paying a service charge’ in full view of other customers and having to then have a brand new bill generated without the expected service charge is embarrassing. I believe you (Gusto) prey on that and take advantage of the customer. The staff get paid a minimum wage and a tip should not be expected or tricked out of any customer. Without the customers there is no Gusto. That is disgusting. The food was lovely and worth the money. The service was not worth 12.5% of the bill. Gusto could, alternatively, pay their staff 12.5% extra instead but they don’t/wont; therefore the customers should get a clear op-in / opt-out service charge not tricked out of it. We’ve been here quite a few times and have never noticed this charge before although I’ve probably paid it unwillingly - another thing Gusto prey upon. As i said above, without returning customers there would be no Gusto. I won’t be returning if that’s your attitude. Shame on you. Kind regards

We came to gusto on a rainy day and ordered the sharing roast platter for three . It was delicious and I can’t recommend it enough . Sooo tasty . Another amazing feature of our trip was our waiter Besim … nothing was too trouble , he served with a smile and I saw that he was fabulous with all customer and even other waiters . I also wanted to mention the manager , I think her name was Carla … again I saw how attentive she was to sooo many customers. Such a well ran restaurant. Thank you Besim and Carla

Maybe it was the time I visited Sat 6 pm and thus Gusto is located in the very busy Albert Dock Liverpool. Place was manic think a wacky warehouse from the 90s. Excuses aside I arrived in advance for booking. Kept my side of the deal arriving on time and was left waiting for table. It wasn’t until I stood virtually in the middle of the restaurant that I was noticed and attended too. Garlic pizza bread for starter, didn’t look like flat garlic pizza bread, rather burnt crusts from a poor man’s supermarket chain. The Ragu was bang average. The rose cheap in taste. Avoided the desert. Get me out of here. As far as you can get from an enjoyable dining experience! And a 12.5% service charge for that! I know it’s optional but I felt sorry for the poor staff, and the service sector not being the best paid, and they all appeared so stressed that I thought well it might help them if I do the charitable thing. Disaster!

Just amazing. Our whole dinning experience was one of the best I've ever had. The welcome and service was first class. Brilliant staff. The food was exceptional, fresh and perfectly cooked. It arrived timely and hot. We will be back. I can recommend this restaurant for a great experience.

Although we were late being seated (was told we would get a phone call when it was ready; table was actually ready 10 mins prior), the service we received by 'Besim' was amazing. We have been served by him almost every time we have came to gusto and each time it is exceptional. Really gutted there was no chateaubriand but luckily they had tiramisu to make up for it! Visiting Liverpool with our 2 young children and decided to eat here on a Monday evening. We had been before years ago as a couple and had really enjoyed the food and atmosphere, and thankfully our experience remained just as good! Our waitress was so happy, kind and helpful and great with our children. All staff we spoke to were equally as friendly. Food was beautiful. We had the bucatini ragu and the seafood risotto, and the children had the carbonara and pizza. The ‘make your own’ pizza with the little chef hats was such a lovely idea which my kids thought was absolutely brilliant! We didn’t get dessert though the children definitely enjoyed theirs. Would recommend to anyone wanting a tasty meal in a very relaxed, friendly environment!

Booked a table for pre anniversary meal, and was treated to a show of class teamwork and delicious food. The starters, Garlic King Prawns were succulent and tasty. The mains of 3 Meat Lasagne and the Scallop & Prawn Ravioli was spot on. But we had seats close to the kitchen. We were treated to a masterpiece of teamwork and Devine service. Led by the young female Maítre d. Her control, communication and skill was like watching an Orchestra Conductor conduct their way thru Mozarts finest Symphonies. Being the focal point of the Kitchen and Front of House team she expertly ensured smooth operations and the team around her were no less brilliant in their part of the finely tuned machine that busy restaurant required. Each of the servers were attentive, moving to a rhythm that ensured all patrons were happy. Chef’s delivered brilliant, tasty and hot food. Was a joy to watch. Thank you and well done to each of them. We will be back.

We walked in with family, a party of 4 adults and two children on a Sunday lunchtime. From the moment we arrived the staff couldn’t do enough for us and made us feel so welcome, getting a table ready for us nice and quickly with a high chair for the baby. We mostly had pasta with one pizza and garlic bread, and all dishes were delicious and tasted authentically Italian. The reason I felt compelled to write a review is because of the staff, every one of them said hello to my baby and made us feel so welcome. Not long ago as part of the same group, we were made to feel not so welcome in another Liverpool restaurant because we were dining with children. I never thought that Gusto would be so child friendly, absolute kudos to all the team and thanks for a lovely lunch, we will definetly be back soon.

Great location at Riyal Albert Dock. Our experience was Fabulous. Sea Bass was superb as was our service. Definitely on my return list.

Lovely food and staff, however the only downfall for me was the ladies toilets, to say this was a very well presented high standard restaurant, this let it down, one toilet wasn’t very clean, the other was blocked with tissue. It also seemed toilet tissue was used to dry your hands and not binned. Apart from that the place was lovely and would recommend.

Had a lovely family meal , all had something different, and all the meals were lovely ! The food came to the table very fast , but all very good quality. The waitress guiliana was so lovely and helpful , I’ve never been here before, but will definitely be returning as everything was fantastic.

Me & My fiancé and best friend came to celebrate our paying off our wedding and we booked just by chance and we had the most incredible roast dinner and Maggie made our night extra special a truly remarkable member of staff the young lad with short dark brown hair was so attentive and a fantastic FOH!! We all will be returning for more Sunday roasts soon enough!!

Beautiful Italian restaurant in the dock area of Liverpool. We booked it in advance and it did not disappoint us the food was amazing and the waiter who sever us was top class a very friendly chatty local made the experience all the more better. Only negative was the WiFi didn’t work for us but that’s only a very small minor issue would definitely recommend this restaurant and would return.

We had a great time at gusto served by the lovely Ben. The food was great and the service from Ben was 10/10. I would highly recommend going but make sure you book.

Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough! We often eat here and are never disappointed. The staff are attentive and so friendly, they clearly love working here, which is credit to the management! The food is fantastic, the restaurant itself is beautiful with stunning views of the docks. We recently stayed in Liverpool and ate twice at this restaurant. We had incredible service, especially from our waitress working Thursday 27th March,in the evening we think her name is Alison. She was fantastic,,The restraunt both evenings was non stop busy, the service was fabulous and food incredible, the restaurant has a lovely ambience. We enjoyed both visits very much and will definitely revisit. The drinks are pricey , but a good choice and cocktails are made incredibly well. We loved this restaurant.

Delicious food, and friendly staff. I had calamari and swordfish, both cooked well. There was a slight error with our order but it was resolved very quickly with no bother at all by the lovely staff. It was busy, but we didn't feel hurried.

Went as I had an email from them to say there was a 50% of food incentive. Booked through website and clicked the January sale booking. Went and had food, bill arrived and it was full price. When I queried it the waitress said I needed to have the app and it had to be activated for 24 hours prior so had to pay full price for the meal. I know it says in the T&C,s however I think on arrival you should at least mention it as it is misleading and feel totally agrieved and it left a sour taste for one of my favourite restaurants. Very disappointed !

Great food, spoilt by the silly charges! We took full advantage of the 50% off food for January deal, food was very good and service good too. The girl plating at the pass and giving out the dishes to servers was very loud and was giving her colleagues and manager bad attitude which was distracting as we were seated quite close to the pass, but not a big deal. When we came to pay we noticed a 12.5% service charge added to the total bill before the discount, which after the discount is added still remains the same, so is actually a 25% service charge. This seemed very steep, a meal for two, 50% off at £44 including two full priced drinks with an £11 service charge seemed ridiculous! There was also an added £1 to every bill for a charity. I am sure Gusto can afford to donate to charity from their own pocket if they so wish rather than discreetly adding it to every bill without permission from the consumer. I work full time for a charity and donate to charities as I so wish, I dont need another donation adding to my bill without my consent, thanks. Although a small amount, it is the principle of it. When we politely asked our server to please remove the discretionary service charge and charity donation, her attitude totally changed and she was rude and dismissive. She took the service charge off but not the charity donation, and at this point we didnt want to push the matter further and just paid it. However the server did say goodbye to the cash tip we were planning on leaving instead of the ridiculous 25% service charge. Tips are consumers choice, they are a bonus to staff and should never be just expected. Diners should be able to choose exactly how much tip they would like to leave, and should not feel under pressure. It seems to be common practice in restaurants all of a sudden, which we are used to, but on account of the 50% reduction in bill but not in the service charge it was extortionate. This isnt America. Its a shame, Gusto was one of my favourite restaurants and we are gold members hence the discount, but we will think twice about returning sadly.

This was great - we are Gusto fans anyway, gold rewards (well worth subscribing if you like the food) a great offer for January: 50% off on food - not the children's menu though. We were looked after really well by a lovely waitress - she made sure we were happy wityh everything and looked after our 6 year old too. lovely nibbles and main - fantastic duck and lovely pasta - I want to go again tomorrow.

Good restaurant overall, starters excellent and mains mostly great! Burger not the best but other items very good. Service was also very good.

We had some difficulty securing a table for nine via email and this took several days for a response. We were told we had to have the set menu. When we arrived we were shown to a high table right next to the ovens which was incredibly hot. In addition one of our party was elderly and struggled with the high chairs. I asked at the desk if there were any other options. I appreciate the restaurant was very busy. I was told this may be possible but there could be a wait, which was understandable. I was the told that I should have written any issues with a high table in the booking request. I’ve never been to this restaurant before so not sure how I would have known to specify the height of the table! It was clear no one was going to help so we just had to get on with it, not wishing to ruin the evening any further. No one came to check if we still wanted to move. With family visiting from Scotland for the first time not a great start. Otherwise the food was good, although our choices were limited and it was expensive. Our waiter Ben was incredible and perhaps could give others a lesson in customer service. It’s a shame but we won’t be returning. We normally go to the Heswall restaurant but will give this a miss in future too.

Always go to gusto - but was very disappointed with the Christmas festive menu this year- the starter was ok but the main turkey dinner was awful when it arrived - the turkey was as hard as anything and looked like it had been kept warm for ages- the presentation was terrible and everything was just throw on the plate and look inedible- the waiter was great and got us steak knives to cut the turkey but i had to return mine- the dessert was nice and we had a nice bottle of wine with our meal. On leaving the bill was deducted £15. as a token for the poor meal- I love Gusto and go regularly but felt I had to leave constructive criticism for you on this occasion after spending over £120, please take this on board for other customers

Ben the waiter and his manager Chloe made our evening wonderful. The scallop starter was fabulous and the Tuna steak to die for. 10/10, will be returning.
