PANAM Restaurant & Bar in Liverpool

I booked well in advance but when one of our guests said that they had a pepper allergy, the manager refused to serve us. We were told that the kitchen was too busy to cope with someone with food allergies. The message is clear, the manager is risk averse and don’t go if you have any dietary requirements. Fortunately, there are a number of restaurants nearby that are perfectly happy to cater to any dietary requirements, gusto should be at the top of that list. The person that has the allergy eats out frequently and has never before been refused service, overall I’d avoid this restaurant.

Never got told that we have to wait 50 minutes for seafood. Our waiter never came up to us, only to take an order and we never saw her after. The food was great but the service was lacking.

Lovely meal again. Recommend the beef and ale pie with mash, really really nice and the heavy is lovely and rich. Good atmosphere even on a Tuesday night. No booking required, just walked in. Lovely cocktails, 2 for £15. Great service, lovely place.

Jed and Ella gave us good services! Kept sending drinks, unlike some places where they slow down the service for bottomless drink bruncyes!

Came here for a birthday. They didn't do candles or balloons, which I think they should do considering how popular they are. Food was nice. The size of the chocolate cake was ridiculous, was eaten in 3 bites, and was not good value for money. The lady server was hovering over us as we were spending time discussing the bill instead of giving us a few mins. Music was a bit loud and had to shout at each other.

When walked in it wasn't so full so we thought it'd be nice, we got two steaks and two cokes the total came to £70 i paid in cash and wish i had a receipt that shocked me never have i ever paid that much for a sirloin steak and it wasn't worth no where near that.

The morning was cold and even colder cruising the Mersey. But we received the nicest and warmest welcome when we arrived in the Panam restaurant for lunch before we headed off to visit The Beatles story. Karolina took great care of us seating us at a warm a cozy table and efficiently taking our drinks and food order. The food was delicious. I had the Thai curry and my husband enjoyed the Chicken pasta. Better yet the food was nice and warm too. (We have spent a couple days in Liverpool and too often hot dishes get served lukewarm at best, why?) Anyway, we really enjoyed our food and that was followed by the best coffee to-date here in Liverpool. We would definitely go back and enjoy the hospitality, food and service. Karolina is definitely an asset to the restaurant. Thank you.

Everything was alright the environment was great ,music was lovely, it wasn't too busy or empty and the drink was fine only downside about the blueberry mujito was the amount of ice in it which made it hard to drink. Here is a picture of the empty glass.

Very nice place near the pier. The Fish & Chips were decidedly bland but the potatoes were excellent as were the sauces. Prices tend to be high. The staff were friendly but at times a little "lost".

Lovely meal at the end and getting the bill there was a 10% service charge which should of mounted up to £9.50 with it being hidden next to a meal costing the same amount the service charge was £17.50 disgusted by it saying 10% it was nearly double so asking to take it off the staff attitude changed like she didn’t care disgusting attitude won’t return Very disappointed

Karolina was an excellent waitress and made are dining experience all the more awesome.

Nice location on the docks. This place is quite large with two levels. The menu is varied with lots of different choices. We had the scouse which was good and the portion size was massive. The bruschetta was lacking in flavor, and we wish it had more cheese and balasamic. The seasoned fries were as expected. Service was good.

Went for bottomless dinner here on Saturday night with the girls. Was really impressed with the service and the food and portions. The steak was good considering this isn't a steak restaurant, fries were a bit too crispy but that's my only gripe. Loved the décor and the lights everywhere, my friends who were from out of town loved it as well. The young lad serving us was really quick bringing us our next drinks (forgot his name, maybe Bobby? sorry if that's wrong haha)

Took quite a while for the food to come. For the prices it was dissapointing. Felt like a pre prepped meal warmed up in a poor oven. Basic food at a premium price.😒

My friend and I called here for lunch after visiting The Beatles Story in Albert Dock. What a lovely place. The food was plenty and delicious , the girls that waited on us were so nice and helpful, we had a lovely chat with them and they even played The Beatles music over their system for us . Definitely go here again 🤗

We (13 20somethings) came here for bottomless dinner for my hen do on the 31st August. The food was good and good portions, the drinks came fast and were tasty and we ended up with the whole top floor to ourselves. Special mention to our server Josh who went above and beyond to ensure we had a good time even taking song requests! He made sure our drinks where refilled quickly which can be an issue in these brunches in other places but not here! He was friendly, helpful, and added to the evening without being imposing. He even put up with our attempt at line dancing. Thank you for a fab evening!!

Gorgeous bottomless brunch yesterday. Food delicious and drinks varied. Servers Carolina and Bobby were so attentive and made sure our glasses were always topped up. Would highly recommend!

We went for lunch at PANAM Restaurant & Bar, it wasn't a good experience, despite it being a nice place with polite people serving us, the main thing about a restaurant is that the food wasn't good, with the exception of the garlic bread with mozzarella which really was delicious, the other dishes very bad. The Shrimp Pil Pil was extremely acidic, they exaggerated the amount of tomato sauce, the sirloin steak was tough and the Fish and chip, the fish was soaked in fat, very suggestive of that frying that is done with cold oil, without any crunch. . The place is very beautiful, the Royal Albert Dock, an unmissable tourist spot in Liverpool, the owners should pay more attention to the quality and flavor of the food, it would be an unmissable place. Easy to park in the Royal Albert Dock car parks. $$$

Lovely restaurant on the Albert Docks which is usually quite busy. The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. Service is good and reasonably quick although this is not a fast food restaurant. I especially recommend the Pork Ribeye with black pudding mash which is delicious.

I went to Panam a few days ago for a celebration and a girl called Christina served me. She was wonderful, attentive and professional. We had a brilliant time & will be back. Thankyou Christina

Don't try the scouse! The service we had was very good. Otherwise the place is overpriced and kind of soulless but you expect that at the Albert Dock and I don't hold it against them. What I cannot forgive them for is the outrageous monstrosity they have the cheek to call scouse. I know there's no official recipe and everyone's mum's scouse is the best but this concoction just takes the mickey! Scouse is meant to be a stew, right? Everyone's mum can agree on that much. Ingredients simmered together for a very long time and ideally eaten the day after it was cooked. This stuff seemed to consist of pre cooked components that only made each other's acquaintance a couple of minutes before when they were doused in thick gravy and served up. But the biggest slap in the face was the potato. I got half a large boiled potato, skin on, plonked in the middle of the shallow bowl. They'd not even bothered to dice it and pretend it had ever been part of a stew. Words can not express how just plain rude that is! Don't get me wrong, lt was perfectly edible and worth a fiver of anyone's money (shame it cost many times more than that) but it was definitely not anything like scouse. Such a shame because PanAm's location in the Albert Dock means this will be the first and (if they have any sense) last time many many visitors to our city taste our iconic scran. The scouse there is nothing short of cultural vandalism.

Definitely recommend Panam! Great spot, brilliant atmosphere and lovely food!

We stopped for a quick bite to eat on a Friday night. We ordered the Scouse and the streak frites. The steak frites is good value at £14.99 for a portion of fries and a reasonable price of tender beef. The steak and fries were over salted, which spoiled it. The restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful.

We had a wonderful birthday celebration in this restaurant, and we liked all of our meals (I had vegan burger) and we enjoyed time spent together with family. I would certainly come back. Location is brilliant too!

Food.. not the best. Staff lovely Atmosphere mediocre. Overcharged... didn't realise until I looked at my bank statement... queried... but we all paid separately wanted all 6 receipts!! So unable to rectify! Last drink had zero vodka in. Tried to tell me the lemonade had gone... I am not stupid... I have worked in bars!! Would not return Not worth the money

Went for a bottomless brunch on Saturday with a group of 9. The service was fantastic..we had Chantelle I think her name was. She was so on the ball and kept the drinks flowing. The food was great, there's a main meal meal included in the price. The decor is stunning and we had great service at the bar downstairs too. It's a great place for groups and can be lively so not for those who want a quiet afternoon! Not sure what the dj thing was but there was good music playing. Definitely going back!

Came here for Bottomless Brunch 4pm on a Saturday was excellent value they weren't shy at all with the drinks the service was spot on and the food was actually really nice would recommend the cajun chicken burger but the fish was really nice too. Definitely revisit.

Oh my God.. What a fabulous experience. The food was amazing, and our waitress Megan was the absolute best. So attentive . I will be booking again ASAP thanks to Megan. 🥰🥰 Only downside was we wanted to stay there all night after the bottomless brunch but the bar service was so bad. One barman on and choosing who he served. Waiting 15 mins for a drink- total contrast to the super efficient restaurant staff.

This was my favorite restaurant until Friday the 7th of June, haven't been for a while maybe staff changes but I ordered my favorite pork belly, it's always served on a hot skillet,this time on a small thin cold plate,not good food should never be served on a cold plate,.

Highly recommend here if you are coming for food down the docks in Liverpool. Beautiful food, service was quick and fun by multiple servers, we were placed in a booth, just the two of us and it felt really nice but cool at the same time, the cocktails were stunning and the view across the docks is lovely as the sun starts to set. Their Instagram doesn't let you tag them in anything so if you're looking to share where you are and show off what you're eating you can't, but other than that, great!!

US travelers going through Liverpool. We were hungry for a steak and we weren’t disappointed. Flavorful and tender. The brownie dessert was heavenly.

I was part of a large group celebration and the staff here were very friendly and worked hard to ensure we were all served swiftly and efficiently. We were seated upstairs away from most other diners and this was very considerate, allowing us to have speeches etc without disturbing other diners as well as giving us some space. The food was amazing. I had the seafood hotpot and it was such a big portion I couldn’t finish it. Big bowl of mixed seafood stew (nice gentle bit of heat to it too) with rice and bread. Would come back for that alone.

Lovely restaurant with views over Albert Dock, or loads of space upstairs in cosy corners or at larger tables. Everything was lovely and twinkly at night. Food was fab and staff friendly and helpful. Will definitely go again when I'm in Liverpool.

This is a lovely restaurant, the food is very good. Service is friendly and ok. BIG negative, the NOISE. I go to a restaurant for a quality meal, we got that, but I also want to enjoy the company and conversation. Unfortunately, the music is so LOUD you can’t think and obviously most other diners agree, as they shout above it to compensate making conversation even harder. This is a shame, as otherwise it’s a great place. Without this I would have scored five stars.

The fish and chips were a bit too salty but the prawn linguine was great!

We came here for lunch as a party of 4. The music was so loud, we could barely speak to each other. We ordered a few appetisers, which were nice but shockingly small for the price. We all had scouse for our main, which is traditionally a cheap meal, but the price is understandable because of the location. The scouse was tasty, but the bread it came with really wasn’t, as it was barely even grilled and didn’t taste nice. The service was quite slow, considering that the place wasn’t even that busy and we didn’t appreciate the 10% service charge imposed on the bill. Would probably not come back.

Nice food, good service and a decent atmosphere, I had the KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) burger and it was very good! Reasonable prices, we would come back here again.

Went for some food on a Saturday evening. The atmosphere was brilliant, staff very attentive and friendly. Me and my mum had the pork with black pudding mash, which was very bland, defo needed more mustard sauce as I found it slightly dry. My partner had the prawn tagliatelle, she said it was nice but not much flavour.

First visit to Panam wow! Big Sunday dinner, Hot fresh full of veg Yorkshire pudding extra gravey and plenty of meat.Then the sticky toffee pudding! Everything Was delicious. Staff were great! especially lewis Dempsey. He went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was enjoyable.habitable Especially when he offered to collect my phone from the museum after I lost it there. Thanks Lewis 😇

Visited this evening and after asking for a different child meal option ( we asked for a small sunday roast ) and kept getting different staff coming to the table trying to take our drinks order who would then go off to ask but then someone else would come to the table - 3 in total who just said No without any explanation so we asked as we could not understand how a smaller portion could not be made. However we choose something else and ordered happy to get on with our evening and enjoy , we then got our drinks delivered by an eye rolling snarky staff member so my husband commented service with a smile as he walked off to which then we had the manager come to the table over talk us tell us we were rude and that we were just going to complain when we got our food so the would not be sending it and asked us to leave - we did inform her we were expecting the food to be nice we have eaten here previously but she kept over talking us getting louder and being very rude this was the worst service we have ever received This is Mother's Day we left with a very upset, hungry young child. Once outside, my husband suffered a panic attack as he has severe anxiety. The comment regarding the staff being rude was not only ours but the table next to us who were sat in disbelief.

Stopped here for a lunchtime bite. Whilst it looked busy inside, it was a strange atmosphere. Plenty of staff but not a lot of organisation. Food was tasty but not so that I would want to come back and try something else. For starters we tried squid and beef croquets and for mains seafood claypot and Panam burger. It was tasty. We stayed just over an hour, had 3 waitresses. It seemed there isn't a good flow. Almost as if big parties were were given more attention to keep the rowdiness down. Overall, reasonably priced for city centre location.

Not the greatest of starts when you arrive at the reception desk and ask for a table as the lady says that she can’t help as she is only bar staff - why stand at reception then? The young lady goes to the bar where at least 3 members of staff are standing but it still takes a minute before someone comes to look after us. Eventually seated, drinks and food order is taken. The local lager (PanAm 4) is a good choice if you want a light crispy drink. We had starters; squid and the beef croquettes, both very nice. For main we had the seafood claypot and the dock burger. Again both were nice, not extravagant and worth the price. I ordered a second drink which failed to materialise and had to be asked for again. Very apologetic staff but just another point showing lack of attention. Overall nice experience, the food was good and the window seat looking out on the dock, even with rain and wind, was nice. If the staff could just up their game a bit it would enhance the experience and make you feel more welcome in the establishment. It wasn’t particularly busy on our visit and there was certainly more staff than needed for the amount of tables being serviced. We did want dessert but the lack of attention meant we took our business elsewhere.

I would advise anyone to try the Panam burger, absolutely delicious. The service was excellent and we will definitely return. It turns out we did return and the welcome, food and service were impeccable. I can’t recommend Panam highly enough

First of all, it is atrociously expensive for the variety of food and service. The service at this place was extremely bad! First of all, one drinks menu was brought for a table of 10. The waitress cpuld see that we were passing it down the table as she took our order but had to be asked to bring more, which she did when she could tear herself away from the two chaps she kept talking to throughout our meal. Our starter order was incomplete, and we had to ask twice for the second option to be brought. The drinks order was always late, and the same drink tasted different each time. The only saving grace was the food, which was excellent all around. We ordered steaks (amazing) and seafood claypot (excellent) among other dishes. The starters, when they eventually all came, were very good too. However, I would not bother going to this place again, especially since, in the end, after being late with various items, they rushed us. While the food was good, it wasn't so exceptional that you would go again for such bad service. The overall experience was worse than a dodgy pub by the corner.

Came here as part of my 60th birthday treat.. staff were great so helpful and full of banter.. never the geordie waiter lol. We had the set steak meal and it was lush and a bargain.. thanks guys.

Absolute brilliant experience....food, service, price everything superb would highly recommend. Next visit down will be back. We had the sharing camembert, the rib eye pork steak in cider and the seafood Claypot xx

Right on the Albert Dock, PANAM has an interesting mix of food on offer. Plenty of choices, something for everyone. Our large groups was effectively serviced, and food arrived nearly all at the same time. Nice atmosphere, reasonable prices, food very good.

We’ve been to Panam just last night, the place looks gorgeous, relaxing, cozy atmosphere. We had spicy Asian pork belly pieces with pineapple as a starter, and then Panam burger and cider braised pork ribeye with mashed potato, seasonal vegs, gravy, and pork crackling, everything was sooo delicious, it was worth every penny ☺️

Superfine lokale og god musikk som skapte stemning. Spiste fish&chips, var veldig godt. Kanskje litt over til den dyre siden.

Lovely view of the waterfront. Good steaks on steak night. Fairly pricey but food and drink deal (steak and wine) was good. At 35 pound a head should probably include the sauces though, not the extra 3 quid. Salads and chips are reasonable. Seasonal vegetables nice. Steak well cooked.

Our food was very tasty my panam burger 🍔 was really tasty I've got to say I would say it had plenty on it but it wasn't to much quite often you get burgers that have to much on then and it becomes like a cascade of food and a cheese source that's finds it's self with you all night 🙄 it was a bit noisy upstairs but overall a good place for dinner and drinks. My best advice book your table it's busy

Was excited to eat here after looking at the menu. Food was sadly lacking. The signature seafood stew was essentially Seafood in Ragu sauce. Jambalaya was OK. Korean pork (starters) was delicious.
