Really thought this place would be a great choice to have dinner with two friends and their partners and my self and my partner. All went lovely until the (use the term loosely) women came out with their costumes on and arses out, we asked them politely to not come to our table as we were all couples and it felt a little awkward , however they proceeded to hound our table thinking it was fun to try to gain the attention of myself and my two lady friends partners. They lingered by my fiancé and my two friends partners and would not leave . As I struggle with my mental health it took a lot to go for the meal in the first place . And to have to be made to feel so uncomfortable and anxious whilst two half naked women are trying to wind you up by not taking a hint . If you want a nice meal with a partner I would AVOID this place at all costs !

Literally the most boring place we went in all weekend. We were there about midnight on a Friday night and the place was empty with absolutely no atmosphere, no dancers or any entertainment whatsoever. We expected something amazing!

Now a cocktail connoisseur! Came here the other week for a cocktail class, guided by the lovely Will. Great atmosphere, good fun and surprisingly, I made some decent drinks too so added bonus haha. Would highly recommend both this place and Will, had a blast. Will be returning :)

We arrived as a large group for gospel brunch, a brilliant day! Food was lovely, staff were great. Such a good atmosphere couldn’t recommend enough We took the bottomless option, really easy no waiting for 1 drink to finish to get another was really good

Myself and three of my family members booked a table for the Gospel Sundays event the restaurant was held on 28.07.24. We waited quite some time for our starters, and when they arrived they were lukewarm at best. When our mains came, again waiting longer than anticipated, we were very disappointed. Three of us got the lamb leg roast, and one got the cod. The cod was painfully dry, to say the least. For the remainder of us who got the lamb, the vegetables were, in our opinion, evidently frozen judging by texture and taste. The potatoes had an awful taste to them and were incredibly difficult to cut through. Again, we suspected these were potatoes from the freezer. The lamb itself was alright, but tough to cut through and very fatty. The relative who ordered the cod also ordered some loaded fries to go with his meal. These never made an appearance, save for our bill at the end of our time at Alma De Cuba. Two of us in the party were gluten free, so for us they removed the bread from our starter and the yorkshire pudding from our main. It was good to have such an option, of course, but we did feel like we were missing part of our meal. My relative, who isn't gluten free and ordered the lamb, stated the yorkshire pudding that came with the dinner was pretty much inedible and she left it. Service was slow, but you could see all of the staff scrambling to do their best, and all members of staff we encountered were nothing but professional. We felt very bad for them, as people around us were complaining and we could see others sending their plates back. There were people sat close to us, who had arrived not long after us, waiting for their mains after we'd finished and were gathering our things to leave. Though, I will say staff did not so much as acknowledge the long wait times and were taking away plates before others had finished. When, really, they should be taken when everyone is finished. I'm giving two stars because the Gospel choir was sensational. Otherwise, it would have been a one star review. I do not recommend paying a visit here. You'd get a better roast dinner at your nearest Toby Carvery. We left still hungry.

We booked as a group of 8, when we arrived at 2pm we tried to order drinks we were told there was no tonic water or Prosecco as it had been busy on Saturday, poor management for a city centre establishment to run out of stock on the busiest time of the week. We then sat for an hour we didn’t have our order taken we heard other tables had waited over an hour for their food to arrive we decided to leave, our hostess was apologetic but the manager I assume who couldn’t be bothered to iron his shirt which gives the impression of how serious he takes his role wasn’t that bothered by us leaving. I pointed out as myself am in a customer service position communication is key if there is a problem lack of staff, delays in service etc let people know so they can make a decision to stay or not such a shame this place had gone down in my opinion and I personally wouldn’t bother to return. The party who waited over an hour for their food was trying to celebrate a ladies 90th birthday and it really poor service to treat people this way. Don’t put yourself on discount deals if you don’t have the staff to cater for it and it really does lessen your value as a business.

I’m not one to be negative about a venue however this venue definitely does not live up to the claims on their website, the food was not the best and we sent most of it back and to be fair they did remove the items from our bill. Two lovely ladies provided the entertainment but not a full entertainment programme advertised. We had a young lady serving us a she was marvellous, such a shame she works there as she needs to be working elsewhere she is such a gem. We would not recommend this venue or return, such a shame as the building is lovely.

Bought voucher on Groupon .. wasn’t expecting much to be honest . How wrong I was ! The food was outstanding as was the service and entertainment! 10 out of 10 ! Can’t wait to return .

Attended on a Friday night for a hen party of 20. Table booked for 2030 and we had to pre order didn't get out first course till after 22:20. Food was good quality and well presented , however long wait and poor communication let the night down would not recommend for large groups very disappointing, On the plus size large discount off the bill. Took all night for the manager to come and speak to us left poor waitress dealing with unhappy customers not fair on her bad management.

Vi har rest till Liverpool under många år och nästan alltid gjort ett besök på Alma de Cuba. Vi har varit supernöjda med allt – atmosfär, service och personal, mat och dryck. De här besöket var dock helt annorlunda. Atmosfären var i stort sett sig lik, med ett tillägg av mycket hög musik. Ingen mötte oss i dörren. Vi blev visade vårt bord och fick varsna två lösa pappersark som utgjorde menyn. Någon fråga om vi ville ha något att dricka, fick vi inte utan fick hålla ögonen öppna för att kalla på personal för att få en vin/drinklista. Vi beställer drinkar och vin till vår mat. Vinet kommer först, drinkarna senare. Personalen var lite som yra höns. For fram och åter och ställde sporadiska frågor om vi fått beställa etc. Ingen servitris/servitör var ägnade åt just vårt bord. Pojkarna verkade mer intresserade av sina frisyrer än att ge god service och en av dem tuggade tuggummi med öppen mun medan han serverade. Kan tänkas att jag är gammalmodig, men det såg inget vidare ut.. Min och ena väninnans mat var bra, men den tredje av oss hade beställt en kötträtt hon ville ha medium rare. Fick in maten – köttet var well done.. Hon skickade ut maten och fick tillbaka något liknande, men iddes inte göra om proceduren. Vi kände oss helt enkelt inte omhändertagna och kommer troligen inte göra ett återbesök nästa gång vi kommer till Liverpool. Ledsamt men sant.

We attended for Afternoon tea for my sisters birthday. The atmosphere was electric with the salsa dancers, food was great, staff were very attentive and really lovely and the drinks were flowing fast and furiously…..loved it and would highly recommend

We came for afternoon tea for a friends birthday and was absolutely blown away! The staff couldn’t be more welcoming and attentive. Such a wonderful atmosphere around the place and the samba dancers boost the vibe so much. We all had such a fun time, really enjoyed every minute of it the drinks were flowing! Huge thank you to everyone upstairs- Kai, Leighton, Lennon, Libby, Fleur and Ryan you were amazing!!! ❤️ After afternoon tea we went downstairs into the garden where the vibe was electric, the DJ had everyone dancing. I had been given the task of organising my sister’s hen party in Liverpool in August 2023. As a previous guest at Alma de Cuba I had it as a definite venue and in fact the finale of the hen weekend. I was wanting to get booked up early to ensure we got this venue included in our itinerary and so I booked it as soon as I began the organising (11 months beforehand). I booked the Lady Chapel which sounded amazing and so fitting for such a special night. The private area and bar I was promised meant that the hen would feel extra special and the girls an amazing night - just as I intended for the final night. It also meant that the hen with epilepsy had somewhere to go when the strobe lights came on and they could be included on what was going to be an amazing night. I went ahead and booked the Lady Chapel, received confirmation and went ahead and paid the deposit. When it came to putting in the pre-order I submitted the order and stated the booking name and that it was booked for the Lady Chapel, this was 2 weeks before and all was confirmed to be ok. We arrived quite early and upon arrival I went to the bar and stated the name and where we had booked. I was met with a confused face when the barmaid confirmed that the Lady Chapel was actually booked out to a 40th birthday. We were led to the altar booth where we sat quite deflated as the 40th partied on next to us. I had found the confirmations and asked to speak to a manager. He was very apologetic but confirmed that there had been a double booking and despite my early booking, the 40th party had booked afterwards. It was a disappointment to everybody and a huge kick in the teeth to myself. I had spent so much time organising and hyped up Alma de Cuba as the finale. We were originally offered a round of shots for the inconvenience but one of the girls was persistent on more of a compensation for the let down. It certainly took some persuading but we eventually were given a bottle of spirit for the inconvenience. That being said the entertainment was fantastic on the night and the atmosphere was electric. Unfortunately as the hen with epilepsy had nowhere to go when the strobe lights came on (which were directly onto the altar booth) her and another had to retire home early. When the night runs smooth this place is brilliant. But if you book please make sure you are prepared for possible disappointment. Such a shame.

Beautiful place, food is amazing and the entertainment is spot on! We was staying on a stay and dine at arthouse and this is the restaurant we was given food and can i say we was amazed because we only paid £129 for the stay and dine for both of us! The food was delicious, the cocktails are of good quality and the staff are amazing. Thanks to ryan he looked after us the whole time and even later on in the evening when we returned he made us feel very welcome and gave us 2 for 1 cocktails. We will back and definitely recommending to friends as a deal like this is not to be missed!

Really great venue. Attended with my wife & friends & had a great Saturday night. The in-house entertainment was great & the music was a great mix! We will return on our next visit to the city. Thank you

Never tried the food there , I am just going for the party atmosphere during a night out. One of the best places in Liverpool.

Went on a hen do, food was great although the order came wrong for a couple of the party it was sorted. However we booked this as we were told there was dancing entertainment from 8pm and we left at 9.45pm to just loud dj music. Disappointed.

Empty, no atmosphere and the strawberry daquiri was rank and expensive

Stunning interior so classy& trendy definitely a place to book if your having a party or hen.. Thoroughly enjoyed myself & will be going back with friends for sure.

We all had a fabulous time at the Samba Afternoon Tea for my Hen Party. The food was delicious, the dancers were amazing and Ryan our server was very accommodating. We had guests from age 15-81 and everyone had an absolute ball! Highly recommend.

Me and my fiancé had heard about this before but never been we decided to give it a try after hearing so many good reviews we went and were so impressed down to the wonderful food all the way to the lovely drinks (WILL BE RETURNING!!) complements to the chef as food was amazing

Just had lovley food here we didn’t fancy getting a big meal each so we ordered a few starters for us both to pick at they were gorgeous and so flavoursome they made sure we had everything we needed they gave us side plates to eat from as they seen we were sharing some starters will definitely be returning again wonderful experience. Also the cocktails were so nice the wonderful libby looked after us so well and a big thanks to honour who made are cocktails will definitely be booking a masterclass soon!!

I brought my mum for mother's Day. Everything was amazing The choice of drinks was so good proseco wine beer any spirits food was delicious salmon starter lamb roast the service was exceptional and the singers and dancers was so good and got every up dancing Can't wait to come again bring the rest of the family

My night at the lovely Alma De Cuba was absolutely UNREAL. I was looking for a place to go with my family and was recommended here by a friend. I honestly have no complaints; the service was good, the waiters and waitresses were so friendly, the food was delicious and the entertainment was brilliant. Everyone really enjoyed the night and will be returning!!

Fab day bottomless was unreal couldn’t reccomend more. server Leighton was nothing but accommodating couldn’t ask for a better service! Venue was spotless and cakes was out of this world can’t wait for next time!!!

we all loved the food and the night especially for a works night out this was recommended by a friend and loved every minute we purchased a booth downstairs after are meal and proceeded to party downstairs loved the dancers and bottles were fairly priced the lovely remi looked after us and gave us our bottles and made sure we were well looked after

I don’t know what is wrong with English people and food. You guys have no idea. This is the last time I trust reviews on Google. Food was so expensive for what we got. McDonald’s serves better food, tables and floor was filthy, sticky and disgusting. I don’t want to even talk about service, they were so friendly but yet unprofessional, probably not their fault but management’s. Nothing had anything to do with Cuba. What can I say just close it down and sell it to someone that actually knows how to run a restaurant. A waste of this amazing venue.

Long wait for food, one of the meals was cold. After being sent back, it arrived back still cold! My friend eventually refused the third attempt at a hot meal. The veggie option was poor, just quinoa and peppers and no asparagus and cost £19!...

Slowest bar service ever! After feeling invisible for 30 minutes just gave up. The bar was also empty, looked like it had been ransacked, nothing behind it. Very disappointing. The lowered the atmosphere probably because everyone was sober!

We arrived at 8pm and did not receive our starters until 9:30pm even though they had been pre booked, this was only after asking multiple times! The food was poor and expensive, options for those with allergies and dietary requirements are absolutely appalling! Service was again below average, no apologies for the long waiting time and entertainment lacked the energy that is advertised online. Overall really disappointing - would not recommend!

I have never had such a terrible experience in a restaurant when it comes to customer service. I organised dinner here for my sister’s hen party, which was a terrible mistake. Despite pre ordering, it took 2 hours to get starters, we had to find waiters to take our drinks order and then waited 45 minutes for drinks. To top it all off we were charged for drinks we didn’t have, Kai Erskine their Assistant Manager tried to show us up by counting glasses on our table to which he was wrong and couldn’t justify over changing us. Unfortunately, prior to this point we had paid as they sneakily print off separate bills for food and drink but added drinks to the food bill and I was refused a refund. I tried to deal with this matter a few days later over the phone to not cause a scene, when Kai assured me I would be refunded. Since my call, he has ignored every attempt I’ve made to get in touch with him and I think this is disgusting. Kai Erskine is a terrible representative of this business and customer service.

I went here 4yrs ago and it’s was an absolute delight, some of the best food in Liverpool, great atmosphere, service and events. Went over the Valentines weekend 2024, quite disappointed. Food used to be 10/10 now it’s a very generous 7/10. The food is presented well but upsetting especially when you ordered king prawns and you are served standard small prawns which were obviously frozen and chewy For such and posh looking place full of potential there are about 4 cheap wines on the menu, which was terribly disappointing. I even had to clean my chair it was full of crumbs and the table was sticky like a bar in a pub and needed a good clean, it was not busy so zero excuse for that!

Really offended to be made to sit separately from friends who had upgraded to the bottomless drinks package , spoiled the atmosphere, you need to find a way to ensure the correct people are accessing alcohol not insinuate we are all out to fiddle you . Would not return

Came on new years, nothing like it was advertised and when we asked about why it was falsely advertised to have dancers and cannons they said that normally happens on a Saturday. Even thought this was the main selling point of the ads for New Year’s Eve. massively understaffed and rude. It’s expected that new years would be busy but this was beyond a joke. Saw bar staff pointing and laughing at how busy the bar was. Embarrassing event.

Shocking!! Here on NYE and they only have 2/3 bartenders. Feel absolutely awful for the poor staff 40 minute + wait at bar and having to deal with unnecessary abuse. Upper management should be absolutely ashamed of themselves… APPALLING, DONT COME HERE!

Always came for the gospel lunch choir on Sundays but they don't have it anymore. Such a shame 😪 so be careful and they still bill it as " gospel choir lunch" when you book online

Really was a good night, meal was fantastic and service was first class, music was just up my street, I only gave 3 stars only because I was teetotal and felt cold all night infact I was bloody freezing, other than that it was a brilliant Xmas party night.
