Walked in with no reservation for lunch 👍, took a while to get our food, but it was well presented and very tasty, had Chicken Hangover burgers. Onion rings were far more ring than onion, so left them and we choose different chips between us, but seemed to all get the same. I'd go back for another go though 😋

The burgers were amazing and portion sizes were perfect to match the burger. I also had the fried pickles which were lovely (if you're a fan of pickles) they advised us that one of the fryers was out when we walked in so there might be a slight delay, however the food came out very quickly and tasted just as amazing! So far the best burger I've had in Liverpool! I had the PB + JJ, whilst the peanut butter was a bit heavy it paired perfectly with the salty beef patties.

Food was fine, however, waited just over an hour for 2 burgers and some chips. I get it was busy but that's insane. Place was absolutely freezing aswell and had to keep my coat on!

Booked a table, welcomed on arrival and left after 25 minutes with no service for ordering food or drinks. Great food previously if lucky enough for enough servers to be on staff that night. Will give it a miss going forwards.

The food itself is great, really nice stuff and very much deserving of being tried. Unfortunately the service leaves a lot to be desired. We were seated at 7pm on a Sunday, order taken at 7:15pm, and food not brought out until 8pm. This was also the experience for the other tables around us. No one was happy. The staff looked truly stressed and were very apologetic. This isn't their fault so I'm not criticising them. Whoever is running this particular Fat Hippo needs to have a hard look at the processes in place because no one should be waiting an hour to get what they came there for.

Very accommodating to us, provided a pepper intolerant option for us with an excellent and friendly service!

They explained the process well and were very patient as we decided. They were very smiley and approachable and made us feel so comfortable! They have a gluten free menu which is pretty handy. A friend and I came in and we ordered a few appetisers as we were running out of the time, the man that served us was amazing and put our order through really quickly so we would get the food sharpish. It was great. The staff were pleasant. The food was tasty!

Thought we'd try here since almost famous (our usual spot) closed down but we won't be coming back. It was over an hour wait to get our food and when it eventually arrived, my burger was freezing cold. The staff were completely ignorant aswell, we tried to flag them down a few times to help sort our issues (getting a refill on drinks, enquiring how much longer our food would be, getting sauces, wanting to find a resolution about the poor food quality). Only time they didn't completely ignore us was when we wanted the bill (conveniently). Also it was clear to anybody with eyes that we hadn't enjoyed our meal since I hadn't had more than a couple bites of my freezing cold burger and didn't have more than a few chips but the girl didn't ask how our meal was, just presented us with the card reader. I've honestly never experienced such poor service and was so shocked that we just paid the bill and left when we really should have asked for the food to be taken off or at least discounted. We won't be coming here again and I'd recommend that others steer well clear aswell.

We live in Southampton and have come to Liverpool to watch the game. We wanted something quick, chill and delicious and we got just that! We got our meal so quick and it was 10/10 for taste and quality. Shout out to Hannah who was so lovely and made some of the best cocktails we have had!

We arrived for food about 5:45pm, we were advised that we could only order chicken or veggie which was fine. We ordered at around 6pm, at 6:35 we asked if there was an update on our food as we had theatre tickets and had to be at the empire between 7/7:30. They checked with the kitchen and we were advised the kitchen had just started cooking our food which gave us the impression we had been forgotten. When we advised of our plans we were told they could guarantee we would be on time which is a bold claim. The food arrived about 6:50 so 50 minutes after ordering, we then had to eat quickly to leave on time but even then I had to eat half my burger while walking to the Liverpool Empire which was not ideal and also being asthmatic it was not good.

It’s ok. Food was alright, waited over an hour to get it on a quiet day, we were 1 of 2 groups there at the time. the burgers didn’t have much flavour and were far too big but not in the way you’d want it to be. for example they stacked onion rings on the burger to make it look bigger but the burger pattys themselves weren’t that big. the food was extremely greasy. that being said the mozzarella balls were amazing so if you’re stopping by you should definitely order them. At that price point i’d just expect more.

Will be completely honest. Went to the nottingham one not long ago and it was a 6/10. Eager to be proven wrong i was in liverpool so thought I would try it out. Deliveroo. Order didn’t come with dips i paid for, food was cold milkshake was lacklustre. and chicken was pink. Wings were alright. Really disappointed. Just abysmal. Probably the worst takeaway that we've ever had. Burgers arrived lukewarm with only a very burnt slice of cheese on, as opposed to all of the advertised toppings. Sides were cold and they were pitifully small portions. Worse still, the "Katsu" Fries were completely devoid of any Katsu sauce. Instead, they were drowned in BBQ sauce!!?! What a dire disappointment and woeful waste of money. There are far better burger joints out there. FFS, we'd rather have gone to Maccies!!!

Incredibly friendly staff who took great care of our allergy requests. We are both coeliac and therefore are cautious where we eat out! The quality of the food far exceeded our expectations.

Only just found out this place has a 1 star hygiene rating, which explains it all!. I Ordered the BBQ/Ranch Chicken burger which had absolutely no flavour and had been over cooked in the fryer. Chips with bacon pieces/sauce - quite hard to grasp why there’s an additional charge to this as I've sneezed bigger portions than what was given. Food arrived cold and 90 minutes after ordering. When calling the restaurant for an ETA, the phone was left unanswered (three different occasions). Wouldn’t recommend when you’d get better elsewhere, nor for the price of it. I definitely wouldn’t have ordered from here if I’d have checked the rating beforehand. It also seems as though they’re either a ton of fake reviews, or they’re pressuring customers to leaving five stars. Avoid.

Just awful. How this place has an average rating of 4.2 is beyond me, I can only assume fake reviews are the reason. The food from this place is so poor, tasteless, bland, poorly cooked and overpriced. Don’t trust the reviews, this place is awful and you will be disappointed. To top it off, their hygiene rating is 1 out 5. Avoid!

Worst place ever, don't recommend at all, it took 1 hr for our order to arrive, just American burger, onion rings and cheese balls, food was greasy, burger and chips were dry, my wife vomited after eating by 1 hour after both of us having nausea shortly after

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I'm a fussy eater & like my burgers plain & it came just as I like it & cooked to perfection.

For a place that only serves burgers, the burgers weren't that great. And we've since found out that they have a hygiene rating of 1. Servers were nice but have obviously been told by managers to be persistent in checking up with their customers to get reviews, which was slightly distracting. 3 soft drinks and 2 burgers came out to over £40, which we thought was quite expensive for what we got. Maybe we just got an unlucky day, it was during the Christmas period so that could explain !!

Feeling peckish after a hard fought FA cup third round defeat to Liverpool, I found myself looking on maps for some top quality scran, and Fat Hippo immediately caught my eye. Not just because if the name but the sheer outstanding quality of the food. And the toilets were excellent also. Sleek and modern, and difficult combo to achieve. Yet, Fat Hippo made it possible.

We ordered at 3:25 PM and didn’t get our food until 45 minutes later. We had told the waitress we were in a hurry because we had a train to catch, and she assured us the kitchen was “usually pretty quick.” It wasn’t even that busy, so we couldn’t understand why it took so long. When the food finally came, the buffalo wings were okay, but the burger patties were burnt. We didn’t have time to complain or wait for replacements because we were already cutting it close. This place was the only disappointment of our trip to Liverpool. The food wasn’t great, and the service wasn’t much better.

Early January so not expecting the place to be very busy, we were greeted by the door, A warm and friendly welcome after being out in the snow and blizzards. Staff were very friendly, chatty and polite. Food came quick considering we'd ordered three sides and two mains. The food was also packed with flavour and was easy to swallow down, the only problem I had is I couldnt finish all my food :( The prices were more than reasonable considering the size of portion. The staff were on the ball in regards to allergies and even have systems in place to help avoid any issues or accidents. I would strongly recommend a trip to the Fat Hippo in Liverpool 5/5.

Probably one of the biggest let downs I have experienced, from chips undercooked to onion rings the size of my head with absolutely no taste at all. Burger was ok and cheese balls was ok to. I had high expectations for this place and was wanting to visit for a long time but can't believe a popular place like this serves food like that.

Ordered dinner and had it delivered to our house. We were missing half of it, it was cold and when I rang them up they mentioned half of our order was still in the restaurant. The guy on the phone told me he’d still send the rest of our order but when we called an HOUR later to ask where it was, he said he never send it out because of some problems with UberEats. When we asked about reimbursements he told us to take it to Uber because he can’t do anything about it. Absolute vile, terrible service of them on their end. Forgetting to send out our order and then not doing anything about it.

The food was OK but the service was lackluster, although it wasn't particularly busy. They never asked if we wanted more drinks during or after our main course, and never asked if we would like to see the desert menu. After staring at our empty plates and glasses for half an hour, someone just dropped a bill on the table, and that was that.

Came in on Boxing Day and the atmosphere was nice, but it was very cold. The food was good, although my partner thought his burger was just okay. The fried pickles were tasty and tots were great, too. The biggest negative for us (aside from it being so cold) was the size of the dips we paid extra for. We loved the blue cheese ranch but it seemed we only got a tablespoon of it for £1. It was a bit mean considering we paid extra for it. However, the food portions were quite large. The service was great and the staff were all very friendly. They brought the bill over straight away without us asking which we thought was nice, but some might disagree.
