We visited for lunch. The cheese and ham omelette was delightful. Excellent choice of cakes.
Friendly staff and a lovely clean place.
We would recommend this cafe to friends

It was our first visit (a Birthday celebration) and its certainly won't be our last. The entire dining experience was faultless. We received a warm welcome, enjoyed stunning oer d'oeuvres and fizz, before moving into the restaurant for the exquisite 7 course tasting menu which was accompanied by superb well thought out drinks pairing. A social mention to Sommelier Boris, whose knowledge and passion shone through and made sure that we had a memorable experience. Hats off to Chef Elliot and team. Chester should be proud! Highly recommended
This is a charming old-fashioned tea shop access from the city room with a brilliant view of the Eastgate. We had a scone and cakes with a very good pot of tea. Relaxed and atmospheric.
Amazing home cooked Thai food. We come regularly. Great service, generous portions and really reasonable prices. Only a tiny place but it’s so authentic.
Staff are so friendly
Extremely poor customer service that we experienced, sorry to have to leave a negative review but it’s actually the truth of what we experienced at this café

The food’s decent here; whether you’re in the mood for a pizza or fancy a kebab, you’ll likely come away satisfied. That said, it does help to have had a few drinks beforehand; it somehow makes everything taste a bit better. Just be warned: you might come across the odd hair now and then, so best to be prepared for a touch of character with your meal.

One of the best Chinese takeaways I’ve ever had. The salt and pepper chicken was so crispy and full of flavor. Portion sizes were great, can’t wait to go back soon!
We went for an evening meal
We were warmly greeted and shown to the bar and given menus while we waited for our table.
We were the only ones in the restaurant but other tables were set up for later bookings.
The service and food was all excellent and couldn’t fault any of it.
We shall be returning
We were on a charity bike ride, and had organised with Julie the Landlady for lunch.
Julie and her team were magnificent. Their hospitality and kindness were second to none.
We can't thank them enough for their support.
I thoroughly recommend the Duke of Wellington.
