great choice of food You dont expect Cordon Bleu but frankly it was really tasty. Staff are really friendly and helpful especially Steve who was the Carver and Leah who was our very attentive and friendly waitress. We really enjoyed our visit especially when it came to the bill far less than expected. Especially as we were so full that we couldnt manage dessert. Although Leah suggested having them as a take out. Naughty....

Well done all the team.We had a wonderful Christmas dinner here today and will book again for next year. Lovely food,atmosphere and staff.

POOR FOOD AND COLD AND THE BEER WASNT GREAT AND ITS NOT THE FRIST TIME WE BIN THERE AND GOT THE SAME COLD FOOD AND I WOULD NOT GO AGAIN

The members of staff were appalling, there was a wake taking place and the owner of the establishment began screaming at a delivery driver calling him a C***. I have never experienced such foul behaviour before. They should really be ashamed.

Food excellent but service lacking unfortunately, think they may have had a rush on just before we arrived (but quiet when we arrived). We went for a special occasion and ordered the glasses of champagne for £10 each on arrival. We felt forgotten for at least the first 15 mins, which is a long time to wait without even a drink, this put a dampener on the rest of the meal unfortunately. We felt that we were a little inconvenient and left out.

Love this place. Been here several times and not once have we been disappointed. Dog-friendly with a good-sized seating area outside and a real cosy feel inside. Good variety of proper pub grub along with a decent selection of cask ales. Always a friendly welcome and excellent service from the staff. Actually quite surprised by recent negative reviews (I totally appreciate everyone’s expectations are different), but, for anyone wanting to try this place for the first time, on this occasion, I’d ignore the naysayers. Best pub I’ve come across in a good while.

The hotel is very clean, comfy and the staff are very friendly, however we booked several weeks ago but was informed when we rang about a week before we were due to go we were told they had no availability for a massage, fortunately we decided to book I-siam for our massage, absolutely amazing experience and really glad we didn't get to have a massage at the hotel.

Out and about for the day with family decided to pop in for lunch. A good decision food was great and the grand kids were able to play which is always good if you want a chance to relax

As part of a local Pool team just turned up at 7.30pm with my 11 year old lad who plays for the pool team we sat down the lady behind the bar, shouted the cross bar no kids got to leave. I explained he is part of the Pool team she said he’s got to go she was very rude.

After a trip to Chester Zoo, we decided to go for food within walking distance of our BnB. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. We ordered the steak and fries with beef dripping. Food was delicious and cooked to each of our preferences. Would highly recommend to anyone who's in the area. Great food, great staff, and great atmosphere.

An extremely disappointing and poor quality take out roast, I understand that the quality may differ to eating in but at the same cost you expect a good level of quality and service. We paid over £60 for one beef roast, one lamb roast and some extras. Nothing was good, our gravy was spilt all inside the delivery bag, our roast potatoes were swimming in oil, the lamb was solid and tasteless, the beef was chargrilled and overcooked, we ordered extras to add to our main roasts, the cauliflower cheese was stone cold, swimming in water with just a pinch of cheese, the portion of extra roast potatoes we ordered came as 3 tiny little potatoes and our stuffing was so crusty and dry! Over all a bad roast. Safe to say we won’t be ordering a take out from the chimneys again.
