Fantastic bar/restaurant in great location ..in Chester town centre. I thought this bar was brilliant... great staff plus good food. A must to visit if your in Chester at all

Lovely, welcoming pub right on the canal. Great food.

Visited on a Friday, got the large fish and chips, the fish was huge, absolutley massive, loads of crispy batter, should have got the small one, wife did and that was massive too, chips and accompaniments were great too, our waiter/waitresses were super fast and really kind and friendly, especially BEN, on a table next to us, someone dropped an item of cutlery, he was there almost instantly to pick it upand offer a clean one, awesome service

I haven’t been here for years and went this time after my wife had read some excellent local reviews, I have to say, the food was absolutely delicious! My wife had the steak and ale pie, I had the Bunbury burger with chips and my daughter and grandson shared a pepperoni pizza with chips, all was stunning food and for a very reasonable £54. Absolutely recommended and we will be back!

We used to visit here all the time when it was 2 for one. We feel that you now have less choice and its much more expensive. The roast dinner was for my mothers 93rd birthday. She had just moved into a dementia care home so we wanted it to be special. She only likes plain food. The gammon had to be returned because it was mostly fat. As per a lot of restaurants the cauliflower was hard. We had desserts. I was really looking forward to the cherry and apple crumble but it was disappointing. It was large pieces of apple and cherry sauce. The apple was hard and stained red from the sauce. Unappealing and not a expected. Staff were friendly and welcoming but then there wasnt a lot of tables in. Probably due to the weather.

Reasonably priced. Food was tasty enough but nothing special. Dog friendly. Good atmosphere. Over 30 min wait.

Visited friday Evening with family. We didn’t book a table and they sorted one straight away. Food was great and Cristina was very helpful

Stopped by after being at the zoo for the day. Despite it being quite busy and we hadn't booked we were seated straight away and didn't have to wait long to be served. Staff were all very friendly and carvery good value for money

Excellent food and great service for a birthday meal. Thanks to the staff who were brilliant. We had the steak pie, the lamb rump and the chilli. All were well presented and very tasty. The sticky toffee pudding was delicious. Highly recommended

POOR FOOD AND COLD AND THE BEER WASNT GREAT AND ITS NOT THE FRIST TIME WE BIN THERE AND GOT THE SAME COLD FOOD AND I WOULD NOT GO AGAIN

Wanted to visit for a while. Lovely evening by the canal. Perfect. My wife and I both had Turkey Sunday Roast. Quick service and pleasant staff. Plentiful size servings and food was hot. Potatoes were hard as was the veg. Everything else fine. Was a long journey from the Wirral so probably won't rush back. Sorry.
