The Love Shack in Cheshire West and Chester

Overpriced, undermeasured and stingy volume in the drinks. They're mostly ice. I don't mind paying 9.50 for a drink if it's an experience and decently strong, but these weren't. Some were served with foam bananas that had black mould growing on them. My partner said it was the first time he'd actually been annoyed by a drink- it was a chocolate and cream based drink, but there were literally only a few sips in that didn't taste good. It looked like there should have been quite a bit more in there but it was just the cream coating the ice. It was also slightly too loud. The main positive is that the staff were really nice.

The DJ was really good, the drinks were great, and the food... the god damn FOOD. I'd move here if it meant eating that every day.

This review is solely based on the chicken wings I ordered. Came all the way from Preston to "my favourite" chicken spot, months after I've last been, only to see how much things have changed. The chicken which was worth the same price, has dropped in both quality and quantity; I was so sad and disappointed. Especially because I always enjoy bringing my friends who visit Chester for the first time to enjoy that chicken. I would rather pay more for good quality than have reduced quality of something I once enjoyed. I won't be patronising anymore.

I cannot write enough good things about Love Shack, the food is delicious with the perfect portions, the cocktail range is incredible not to mention the drinks are some of the nicest cocktails i have ever had it feels like so much thought has gone in to making really nice tasting drinks but what out does everything is the service! Tom and the rest of the bar staff are some of the best service I have received anywhere in the world. I will always choose love shack as my number one pick if I am looking for a great evening!

Hired out the upper two floors of Love Shack for my 30th Birthday and it was absolutely perfect! The staff were friendly, the bar service was fast and the drinks were amazing. Family and friends all had a perfect time and the venue is brilliant for occasions. So great having a separate bar, toilets, dance floor. It was a fantastic birthday bash. Thanks Team Love Shack!

I booked the cocktail making for 17 people with food for a hen party. Everything was fantastic, this was the highlight of the entire weekend. Amelia and Adam made the night for us. Food was lovely, music was A* can not recommend enough.

Staff were extremely friendly, told him what we liked and he made us cocktails not on the menu. His pina colada was amazing. Food was gorgeous. Lovely small little bar. 2 cocktails and food came to £50.

Booked as a venue after chester races. Brilliant space with 2 floors to yourself, able to use your own music playlist, private bar and the pre-ordered food & drinks were fantastic! Had a fantastic time here with all of my guests & would definitely return to the normal bar for food & drinks again!

Food wasn’t amazing and everything was overpriced, not good value for money at all. Service took over an hour and everyone’s food came with 20 mins in between.

The food was nothing but full of flavour and was everything that was expected, lively atmosphere and great service from all staff. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a great easy meal with a great atmosphere and 10/10 service.

It’s a little old place where we can get together with friendly staff, amazing rum cocktails and the best tiki bar vibes in Chester! What’s not to like in a place that serves up Mai Tais with foam bananas as garnish?

We came in on a quiet night and was given the switch to play too. Cocktails looked great but wasn’t amazing, and a bit overpriced for what you get. Venue looked great and we had a friendly bartender too!

Popped in last night and wow the drinks and food was sooooo good!! Staff are super friendly and welcoming. We was only passing by so only tried a two sides and a few cocktails but I’ve definitely got to to come back to try the rest of the menu. The 90’s/early 00’s hip hop and RnB was a vibe! DJ played some classics! It was a bit quiet for a Friday night so I hope the bar gets all the support it deserves. It looks amazing but I guess being off the Main Street takes awhile for people to get to know the place. I Will bring a few more mates next time because I know they would love it.

If you find yourself hungry and in Chester, you won't be disappointed with this little gem of a place. Although it's a cocktail bar, the food is also very nice and not to pricey. Have a feeling that I will be making this a regular when I am in this neck of the woods!

I recently rented the upstairs for my birthday party. Nathan, the owner is fantastic. Very helpful and informative. The food I ordered for my party was outstanding and the drinks were all great. The upstairs has a separate speaker system and dance floor so I could play my own music throughout the night. The staff was really friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend to have private parties here. It was fantastic! Thank you!

Staff are really knowledgeable and funny, and actually pretty fit. Drinks are mega and the food is out of this world! Would recommend to everyone, not one to miss out on!

Such an amazing bar. Drinks - fab. Staff - fabbier. Bouncer lady - fabbiest! Had a great DJ on who played the best music and the general vibe of the place was perfect!

What a fun little bar. We stayed in a few apartments opposite and had a great few hours dancing before going home! It's a young crowd but we made it our own as there was a group of us.

The owner is the nicest guy we have ever met we went away for our first anniversary had trouble with getting into an Airbnb apartment having a really hard time and the love shack owner went out of his way to help us gain access to our Airbnb we decided to visit for a drink and stayed all night great atmosphere and kind owner would highly recommend he saved our anniversary 😄

Our experience at the love shack was amazing thanks to the two bartenders who were super nice, had great recommendations and even helped us get a taxi home! Thanks again!

Chicken wings to die for and the cocktails are a plenty

Been there a few times before lockdowns, really lovley team. Had an order of their take away for the first time today and wow. Ordered a rack of ribs, katsu chicken burger and salt n pepper fries. Bloody fantastic, best take away we've had. Food was hot on arrival, meat fell off the bone of the ribs. Just yum, kudos guys!

Amazing !!! Tried this place last night, 4 of us ordered different items an all were excellent ! Vegan burger - amazing ! Beef burger with black pudding - amazing ! Chicken burger - amazing ! Hot dog - amazing !!... Loaded fries...They were also amazing Staff are excellent too, I called to order and the person I spoke with was super professional and helpful, delivery guy was polite and efficient And the chef's... They can cook... They can really cook ! It's not cheap... But they quality never is right? I will be back again many times. If you want top quality tasty food then place an order

First order was decent 2nd order from these guys was the greatest scran I ever had in my life,honestly the burger was prob even better than 5guys the chips were insane and the onion rings were to die for and dont even get me started on the hot dogs,you pay a little extra but its totally worth it,lovely staff as well thanks will be buying again for sure :) 10/10

"Giant" wings (£1.50 each). See attached photo! Paid £4.50 for 3 of these tiny wings & the rest of the food was only average. We won't be back.

First time ordering from here... The giant wings are in fact very small wings (like the size of ones you get from any kebab takeaway shop) but they charge £1.50 EACH for them. Way to rip off your customers! No respectable establishment would allow such a misrepresentation, if they received smaller than normal stock then they should compensate for this by adding extra or adjusting the price.
