As usual, the steak was excellent and the service by JOSIE was first class.

Fab steak as always and extremely fab service from Chris. Very friendly.

We had a lovely meal and our waitress Ffion was amazing. Such a lovely place and the food was delicious.

If I could score more than 5* for service I would, thanks to Julie who was really lovely, smiled throughout the service. She was so helpful with everything. The meal was lovely, well presented and plentiful. We will be returning without doubt

I attended Miller and Carter yesterday for my birthday. The servers (both Sian) were friendly and helpful. The food was lovely and would definitely go again.

Have been before and genuinely could not complain. But today, our small party had to continually wait on average between 20-30mins - to be served, for food or drinks to arrive for the bill, everything. And we would understand if the restaurant was busy - but it was not. Plenty of staff present, when engaging with us they were great, but no-one was attentive to our table. Food was great untill dessert - sticky toffee pudding was cold and grainy. Very disappointing.

Had a lovely meal this evening, steak was cooked to perfection and the service we had was really good. We had Chris who was very polite and friendly during our meal.

Came out for a meal with my partner for our anniversary, food was lovely and the service we had from Chris was amazing. Extremely friendly and attentive and went the extra mile during our visit which was great fully appreciated, couldn’t fault his service!

Emma the waitress was fabulous. Very attentive and accommodating.The only criticism was the ladies toilets. Hand dryer broken, no paper towels, sink was filthy and toilet was blocked .

The food was really nice but our waitress Jocie was the highlight of the night, she advised us and was lovely all throughout the meal. Thanks for a lovely evening 🙂

Second time visiting this venue and it is always a 5 star experience. Chris was extremely friendly and provided fantastic hospitality the whole night. The steak is always cooked to perfection and the Camembert mash is what sets them apart from every other steak restaurant we have visited. We will 100% be returning, thank you again Chris for a great experience!

Ended up here on the day of my birthday. Great steak and great staff. Very welcoming and friendly. I believe out server was Shell and she made sure that everything was going well with our meal and made it a special evening. Lovely place overall.

Food was amazing! Was packed as races were on so was a few not so pleasant customers (vaping on table next to us, man outside relieving himself by window). But despite that the service was brilliant. We even had a little treat bought out to us as it was our anniversary which was lovely. We will definitely be back. Just not when races are on! Our server Chris was lovely, smiling and chatty which we like ☺️

Two friends and I went for lunch and were made to feel incredibly welcome by our server Josie who could not have been more polite, friendly and helpful. The food was exceptional and the service was even better. (Give Josie a pay rise)

The food was amazing I loved the taste of the burger it was delicious, I also ordered on the kids menu and the portions were great for the price. The staff were so nice as well and always saying ask if you need assistance I had a amazing time and lovely birthday here I would recommend it!

Miller and Carter never disappoints. We had a sirloin and a ribeye which were grilled to perfection, and the peppercorn and white port & stilton sauces, both delicious. We also tried 3 cocktails, the Disarrono Blush came out top. Our server was Ffion who was warm, helpful without ever being intrusive, and made us feel very welcome. Thank you for looking after us.

Went before Chester Races finished. We always like to have a drink in the bar before we sit down for our meal. However, the bar, except our table, was full of staff eating on their break or sitting around chatting. Given this is supposed to be an area for customers to relax and have a drink this was very disappointing. The main course of Cote De Boeuf was really tasty and medium as was recommended to us as being the best choice. The most disappointing aspect of the meal was the starter. The lettuce leafs were too large and although the Prawns were tasty there was a distinct lack of sauce or flavour. My own Prawn Cocktail is so much tastier, which is so disappointing as we would expect yours to be far better. Overall, whilst the Steak was excellent the overall experience was far from satisfactory. Given our bill was £150.00+ for two - after a £30.00 card discount- we left very underwhelmed. We had Shell as our waitress this evening and what a treat it was to have a server so knowledgable about the food they are serving, she was an absolute treasure. The food was lovely. We very rarely eat out as we find the food never lives up to the price and we always feel seen off but the food here was cooked to perfection, thank you.

Booked a table for a birthday meal and have to say the whole experience was faultless. From the welcome, shown to the table, the drinks, service and meals were spot on. Many thanks for Chris and Julie for service and drinks at the table, and Dougie and Ellie for the food. The calamari (best ever), cauliflower starters and the main course steaks were cooked to perfection, thanks to Dougie and Ellie. See you soon!

I visited for an evening meal on a Thursday evening. I didn't have to wait for a table. The staff were very polite. Food was good quality and well presented. I took advantage of the three-course deal which was just over £30.00 and was good value. I had pork belly for starter and it was very well presented and tasted great. The main course was steak and chips. Steak was cooked as requested and a generous helping of chips. Dessert was sticky toffee pudding and ice cream. Overall worth a visit and the three course deal provides good value.

We visited today and were served by Julie. She was super friendly and made us feel very welcome. She was very attentive and made a extra effort with the baby. The food was delicious. We would come back again

I had a fantastic experience at Miller & Carter, and I just have to give a special shout out to our waiter, Shell. From the moment we were seated, Shell made us feel genuinely welcome with a warm and professional attitude. She was attentive without being intrusive, had great knowledge of the menu, and made excellent recommendations that we thoroughly enjoyed. What really stood out was how Shell went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect throughout the meal. She checked in just the right amount, made sure our drinks were topped up, and had a great sense of timing and customer care. It’s rare to find service that feels both personal and polished Shell delivered both effortlessly. Thank you, Shell, for making our evening so enjoyable. We’ll definitely be coming back.

Our waiter (I believe his name was Chris?!) was friendly and helpful. He made menu suggestions and communicated he would be on a break and who would look after us during that time. I believe we have been served by him before and we received the same great treatment then also.

Chris this evening was fantastic. First time at Miller and Carter and won't be the last! We had the sharing platter with lobster tail, steak, Mac and cheese and a bottle of Malbec. All complimented each other exquisitely. Thank you for an enjoyable evening.

Went here on date, staff were amazing and accommodating. Staff had a great understanding of the gluten free menu and the food was fantastic. Chris didn’t a fantastic job and was very attentive, funny and friendly. Frequently checking we were happy with our food and gave good recommendations!

First experience today at Miller and Carter .. and it didn't disappoint, food, location and decor was excellent , our waitress was Emmely and she was absolutely brilliant from start to finish, explained the menu in excellent detail and offered recommendations which we went with and she was so lovely .. she is a credit to have on your team , we will be back .

Lot of good things to say. Service was good, starters were very nice, fish main course and puddings were good. Let down by my steak. They are a steak restaurant so I expected it to be good. I can only describe it as adequate. Not poor enough to send back but not a dish to recommend.

Really nice experience, Julie was a lovely waitress from start to finish and nothing was too much trouble for her. The food was really good, starters - calamari and pork belly were an absolute must! Had a steak sharer with all the sides which was delicious. The only thing I'd change would be the size of the sauce pot. The pot was a quarter full and definitely not enough so we had to pay for extra. Other than that, great experience, Food lovely and will definitely be back next time we stay in Chester! Absolutely the most amazing experience I've ever had . Beautiful food, gorgeous wine , steak was out of this world. But best of all our lovely server Josie was kind attentive , professional and very hard working. Felt very taken care of with high attention to detail and excellent service. Me and my friend came in for a meal, a first time for me. Chris started serving our table and was absolutely fantastic. Towards the end of our meal we had Ffion serving us and she was equally as brilliant. The chefs, running staff also did a great job. Couldn't recommend more! Hats off to Chris and Ffion in particular!

Visited Easter Sunday. We arrived @18:45 for a 19:00 booking and were sat down early as a result . The place wasn’t that busy and we had lots of empty tables around us. We ordered drinks then placed our ordrres. Our starters came out and finished them just before the main came to use. The starter plates had to be put to one side to make way for the mains so the lady serving could take them away with her. We didn’t have time to rest from starter for fear of food going cold. My wife found fries hard. All food finished by 19:30: we complained and were told by the manager 45mins is about what they would expect for the food we ordered and didn’t appear to see what was wrong with that. 10% was knocked off the bill but that was still £60 plus for some cheese and mushrooms followed directly with Burger and fries and ta pint twice. I would not recommend this pub too expensive and rushed experience.

It was our first visit to Miller & Carter Chester. We went as a special treat and we weren’t disappointed!! Our waiter Chris was polite, helpful, friendly and extremely attentive! We weren’t disappointed very pleased with the gluten free options, the choice of food, the explanation of food and the menu ! Thank you for making our evening so enjoyable !
