Miller and Carter Chester in Cheshire West and Chester

We had booked for my birthday and when we arrived we were informed that there had been a problem with the fire alarms and that they may go off again but an engineer was on the way. We were given the choice if we wanted to stay and decided we would. I'm so glad we did! We were so well looked after. Our server Julie was fabulous and was so genuine and showing an interest as we chatted to her. The food was delicious, as usual. They were so sorry about the alarms going off, but it didn't effect our night at all. Thank you to Julie for making our night so special and to the team for looking after us so well.

Ella our server was lovely. Very good service. The starter of sticky chipotle chicken was really nice. Sirloin steak was a bit chewy but overall a nice meal.

Great food and great customer service. I always love coming to miller and carter the steaks never disappoint. I always go for the T-bone which is a great steak to experience 2 different cuts of meat and is always cooked to perfection. Chester is also one of the best locations I believe miller and carter has and has always been a favourite for my birthday. Thank you so much for another great evening. Olivia the server tonight was always making sure we had a great time and even brought out a birthday desert for myself.

If I could give the service more than 5 stars I would. We went for lunch on Saturday and was served by Shell who was absolutely brilliant and lovely! Superb service and well worth the visit.

We were seated promptly and the atmosphere was lively-ish for a monday evening. One of the standout aspects of the evening was the service. The staff were attentive, friendly, and professional throughout our visit. They made us feel genuinely valued as customers, which added to the overall enjoyment of the evening. However, it must be noted that the wait time between ordering drinks and actually receiving them seemed a little longer than we expected. While it wasn’t a major issue, it’s something that could be improved for an even smoother experience. The highlight of the evening was, without a doubt, the food. We were there to celebrate a birthday, and the meal we had was nothing short of fantastic. Every dish was superbly prepared, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. Whether it was the appetizers, the mains, or the desserts, each plate was a testament to the kitchen’s skill and attention to detail. On top of that, the prices were reasonable, making it excellent value for money in my opinion. I can see myself returning to in the future for more wonderful meals and great service.

We’ve never had a bad meal at Miller & Carter, the steaks & cocktails are absolutely amazing. Infact it’s consistently the best place for a good steak 🥩 (& cocktails 🍸). Great atmosphere & good discounts if you join the loyalty scheme. Thanks to Ella for serving us today & to all the staff on New year’s Eve who again provided us with another great meal. Love the Cheshire Oaks & Albert Dock branches too, which are both also very good 😊👍

Picked off set menu but when bill arrived the had charged for each item. We had, had several drinks but as this had happened to us before a Millar & Carter we checked the bill throughly. The onion loaf was also totally over cooked and inedible. Dont think we will be going back they have had enough chances ☹️

We came on Sunday night for my 30th birthday just myself and husband Foood-amazing! We had the sharing Sunday board Service - amazing we had Chris as our server he was funny, and really good at his job and helpful! He then came out with a ice cream with happy 30th birthday on it which was a really nice surprise and it was delicious Thank you so much

It was my partners 21st birthday and the evening was absolutely amazing! Chris was so attentive to us and made sure we had an amazing night and made us feel very welcome.

We ate off the set menue but when bill was brought it was itemised at full price making the bill nearly £15 more than it should have been. If I had not checked the bill properly, which after having several drink I dont always do but as this also happened last time I visited Miller & Carter I was aware of it happening. Food is OK

Brilliant food & Brilliant service from Chris

It was our first visit to the Chester restaurant, quiet when it arrived but it filled up over the time we were there. We were celebrating my husbands birthday a day early due to the expected bad weather a day later. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, good value for money given the quality of the produce. As the restaurant filled, the glass of red I’d asked for was forgotten as there seemed to be one waitress covering a large area. When reminded the glass arrived promptly. We had a wonderful celebration, we’ll definitely be back soon.

we were served by chris and he was absolutely amazing!!! so lovely and attentive the whole time, i had the prawn cocktail and the fillet steak off the january menu and it was 10/10, cooked perfectly, my boyfriend had the burger and absolutely loved it!! cocktails were also amazing! but overall chris really made our night and when we come back would 100% want to be sat with him again

Josie was very attentive in relation to our allergen/food intolerances and this was followed up by another staff member - presumably a manager- to double check meal ingredients with us so that we were well accommodated. I had the vegan butternut squash wedge with grains salad and hummus which was delicious. My girlfriend ( with loads of food intolerances) had the ribs. Overall a good meal (although we were not fond of the onion loaf we ordered as a side - soggy centre was just weird!) We had a lovely time celebrating our 2nd anniversary.

We had a fabulous dinner at Miller & Carter this evening. The food was delicious and the service we received from Shell was brilliant - she expertly and patiently advised us on all the different cuts of steaks in an easy to understand way answering all our questions to make sure we had the perfect dinner for each of our tastes!

Booked table for Boxing Day late afternoon the restaurant was very busy but we were shown to our table straightaway and within minutes our drinks order was taken our waitress Shell was very friendly and efficient and took our food orders before our drinks arrived All three courses for all of us were delicious and cooked as requested A lovely afternoon in a nice buzzy atmosphere as always

Miller and Carter is very nice and the steak is very good, however, I would like to offer a few points of criticism, charging people a pound to upgrade chips when you are paying a premium for drinks and more than a fair price for food is a little bit much. I also feel in the CheSter restaurant. There needs to be a stronger, emphasis on upgrading the dress code acceptability of some customers - maybe it’s because I went on Sunday, but I feel people in sports where is inappropriate. This would not put me off coming again I go three or four times a year.. the staff are very nice and come across as friendly and the food is very good - I do think some of the plates should have a little bit more emphasis on greens - yes, ultimately it’s steak and chips. However, some greens on a plate would not hurt at all.

Staff were great, but the organisation was poor, pre ordered food a month ago, today, it seemed no one knew even though it was on my table. Seafood was extremely overcooked. Steak was nice. Starter didn’t come until I reminded them, then took three goes, still was wrong.

We had Christmas dinner, the food was excellent Our server, Julie, couldn't do enough for us. There was a good atmosphere, it was busy but not too noisy, a very relaxed atmosphere, we didn't feel rushed at all

We'd pre booked but there was a mix up with numbers. It was sorted and a complementary bottle of fizz given. Sorting the bill individually was a bit fraught too. The food was delicious.

The restaurant looked nice we were taken to our table fine it was set for four and it wasn’t cleared for two which didn’t look good. the waitress had an attitude problem she wasn’t happy when she took our order we then waited 40 minutes so we asked her was our order forgotten she said that she would go and get our starters when our food came I had ordered seasoned fries with my steak when they came they were cold and so hard it looked like they had been overcooked when we came to pay the bill I told her about the fries and she said I should have told her earlier very bad business not pleased at all

I've been to several miller and carters over the last 5 years or so and unfortunately the food quality is unbelievably variable, I've had some meals which have been fantastic, I mean as good as people would expect in a high end restauraunt but I've also had some that are just poor at best.

We love miller and Carter but tonight was especially fantastic. We usually go for the same meal each time. Fillet steak with all the extras. This time we got the butchers block. came to chester’s miller and carter for a christmas meal with friends as my local restaurant is amazing. however was nothing but disappointment! three out of four steaks weren’t cooked as requested and all fries and add ons came out cold. Sadly disappointed and won’t be returning.

Our meals came and my husbands had to go back it was well done and was ordered med rare when it arrived mine had to go back for a fillet it was flat , fatty with long veiney things coming off it they told me it was a bad cut surely their experienced enough to see this before giving it to the customer. I got my meal taken off the bill, and sat there whilst my husband ate his meal on his own. They wasn't bothered that they had spoilt our night and gladly waved us off with a smile it still cost us £60 Twice I told them there was no toilet roll in rhe toilet and the hand dryer didnt work either. Very disappointed in miller and carter chester we won't be going back. I have since messaged the restaurant but they wernt that concerned whatever we were celebrating it really spoilt our night.
