Our recent visit to Miller and Carter we were served by Josie and what a pleasure it was. Quick, attentive and most importantly genuine terrific service. So thank you for making it an excellent evening.

Had an excellent waitress Julie who was very kind and helpful. A lovey evening meal out. Steak was a bit rare for my husband and though further cooked was still a bit underdone, lovely side dishes.

Was the only diner in there at 5pm on a Tuesday which was nice. Service was good and quick, food was as expected, had the lamb which is as always unbeatable!

Food was delicious, steak was perfectly cooked. Service from Shell was outstanding, nothing was too much trouble. She went above and beyond.

The food was as delicious as always but the reason I'm writing a review is purely because of our waitress. Our whole group were on the cusp of shock at just how amazing "Josie" was. She was efficient, polite and was so concise in the information she gave. Where Josie really shone however was her delivery with everything she did and said. She did more than just the basics and her crowd work when talking to us all was second to none. I've always said that if I won the lottery, I'd open a restaurant. If that day ever comes, you've lost a member of staff because I would let her name her salary and have her train every member of staff. I truly hope she is appreciated at M&C because she truly was 1 in a million. Josie, please never change because last night was a MASTERCLASS in customer service. YOU made our night. Thank you.

There was 10 in our group we had a lovely meal apart from 1 person in our group ( even though she ate her meal). Then complained. Its a lovely place and Chris was very good . Thank you

First time, Nice venue. Good sitting layout. Bar and kitchen in very strategic positions. Food was more that what I was expecting. Quality of ingredients, temperature and cooking process was 10 out of 10. Girl serving us was amazing, very efficient and never intrusive. My only criticism was the atmosphere, a bit flat and I couldn’t hear any music. Overall I will be back with no doubt.

Booked a table was told to get a drink and wait ! Why I can see loads of free tables !! After 20 minutes when they finally decided I wasn’t going to buy a drink I was shown to a table that had clearly been free all the time. We love miller and carter but this one is well below standard the steak was tough , I had to send fries back as they were literally covered in salt , the replacements took so long we had finished eating all together a really bad dining experience, I did complain staff literally couldn’t care less!! Last time we eat there

We are big fans of Miller and Carter, but this was our first visit to the new Chester location. The interior is very tastefully decorated and spacious. Although it was relatively quiet being a Tuesday night, the attention to detail was still there, and Josie was very attentive all evening. All of the food was excellent except for the prawn starter, which were a little overcooked.

Josie was helpful, courteous and lovely!

Visited a while ago but haven’t had chance to write a review , food was great , our server Jay was amazing , very attentive making sure everything was ok ,it was our 25th anniversary we enjoyed it very much , must visit again soon x x

The lady who looked after us was brilliant but I can not remember her name. 3 out of the 4 meals we wanted to order were not available. There was no dirty burger, lamb and fish main courses. The steaks we ordered were very nice. Then to top it all off there was no milk for the hot chocolate only oat milk. I thought the sharing desert was not worth the money.

This is our go to steak house. Perfect night with amazing food and good, red wine. Service was excellent and our host was a lady called Josie.

We came here tonight for our 5th wedding anniversary. Ordered 2 fillet steaks, both medium. They came, 1 was perfect, the other was over cooked. We sent it back and my husband then received an upgrade that was cooked perfectly. Upon finishing our meals we were served a beautiful complementary ice cream bowl with ‘Happy 5th Anniversary’ written in chocolate, an amazing touch! The service was impeccable due to our waitress Sian, a real credit to the restaurant. Thank you so much for making our evening special.

We had a lovely meal in Chester. The atmosphere was really lively, our waitress Josie was so attentive and personable. Nothing was too much trouble. She made a lovely meal out a perfect meal out! Will definitely come back.

Took my boyfriend here for his 40th special birthday, the food was stunning and cooked to perfection. Chris who served us, he made us feel so welcome and relaxed, he gave us a great recommendation for food and drinks choices. He's such a lovely guy!

Really lovely meal tonight. Food was perfect, and service was quick. Josie, our waitress, was brilliant, and even though we were belatedly celebrating my birthday (5 months ago) she still bought out a 'happy birthday' dessert. Excellent service, very attentive, which is great to see in such a busy restaurant.

Great lunch experience. Chris was the perfect host, friendly, offering good suggestions without being pushy. He gave the names Tobias and Callum as the chefs who cooked our fillet steak and seabass, which were flawless. Definitely worth another visit.

Last minute visit. Great that they could find us a table at short notice. Food was spot on. Cocktails were well made. Chris our server was attentive and pleasant to talk to. He seemed the same with other tables around us. Look forward to returning soon.

Service from Julie was amazing, made us feel really welcome and helped with questions around the food and drinks. I'd advised we were celebrating my mum and dad's birthday prior to dining. Everyone who came to the table knew it was their birthday they were given prosecco and a scoop of ice cream with happy birthday written around it before we left! We celebrated their birthdays here 5 years ago and so glad we came back to visit from North Yorkshire. Highly recommend!

Had a lovely night with grandparents, mum and baby at miller and carter. Server Julie practically came a babysitter to ensure we all enjoyed our meal. Staff could not do enough for us and everything else was wonderful.

Steak was nicely cooked, peppercorn sauce was cold however. Chips were great. Chris who served us was 10/10 so helpful and friendly.

Our waitress Sian was absolutely lovely, she was so welcoming and friendly. We were out for a little kid free date night and she brought us over some ice cream with a little message on. Honestly a credit to your company ❤️

Today I went with a £25 loyalty voucher from dining there on many occasions since it opened. We both ordered off the set lunch time menu and had 6 cocktails between us. So £17 two course and £14 per round came to £76. Bill with £25 off came to £71! Reason? The set menu offer (that needs no loyalty, anyone off the street can come in for) is now divided up and charged at full price per dish. Service was fab by Josie. Miller & Carter just lost at least two 'loyal' customers. Thank you for 'your' loyalty too!

Great place always good food and great service by Julie

My husband and I visited on our 10th wedding anniversary. We were greeted with 2 glasses of Prosecco. They gave us a romantic table for 2 by the open window. We both ordered a steak to be cooked medium. Mine was perfect but my husband’s was too rare. Our waitress immediately offered him the choice of cooking the steak further or replacing it and he chose the latter. As this was going to take 15 minutes, they also offered to replace mine so we could eat together. This was not necessary as mine was absolutely perfect. The fresh meal arrived and the new steak was cooked to perfection. We were given 2 more complimentary glasses of Prosecco and an additional desert of vanilla ice cream beautifully decorated with ‘Happy Anniversary’ written in chocolate sauce. Even though the restaurant was really busy, the staff made us feel very special and nothing was too much trouble. Even though there was an issue with 1 of the steaks, it’s how it was dealt with that contributes to making this restaurant so classy.

Shell to the rescue! Great food and service as always 😊 Were let down last minute for a table 15 on a Saturday at another venue but Miller and Carter managed to squeeze us in and the whole team delivered a fabulous birthday experience. Thank you

Had a lovely experience at Miller and Carter Chester last night. Staff were welcoming and service was attentive. Shell was perfect, offering advice on menu and making sure our drinks were topped up. Gorgeous food as always! Thanks

First visit to M&C Chester. The starters were very good. The mains not so good. The fries were so hard they were inedible. The onion loaf was burnt and rock hard too. We left a lot on our plates and didn't bother ordering desserts. A fixed price lunch menu shouldn't mean lowering the standard of food. Sorry. We did mention it to our server. We will try the evening menu at the weekend next time. This review is based entirely on the fixed price lunch menu on Thursday.

My husband and I ate here on last Monday. We were mainly served by Emma who was very knowledgeable about the menu and extremely attentive. The other staff were brilliant too. The food and cocktails were great. I highly recommend it.

Lovely meal here on Monday night. Had the Monday offer of steak & cocktail for £20 but wished I paid extra for a better cut of meat. Service was brilliant from Ffion who was very attentive and professional , lovely touch that I received a complimentary ice cream for my birthday.

First time back at Miller & Carter in ten years…and it did not disappoint. The food was excellent, the steak perfectly cooked, and all accompanying sides very tasty. Julie, who served me on the 04th Sep, was very warm, welcoming, and attentive. Thank you and I will be returning in the future.

Enjoyed a nice dinner at M&C Chester served by Mia & Julie who were both incredibly friendly & attentive. Food wise, I went for the full rack of ribs and my sister went for the dirty burger and we had garlic bread to start. There was quite a long wait between starters and mains but we didn’t mind as we were dining very early in the evening. Overall, would certainly recommend paying them a visit.

What beautiful food we had tonight, so flavoursome. We were served by Julie, whos waiting on service was exceptional and nothing was too much mither. I was celebrating a belated birthday with my best friend of 50 years and Julie served me with a celebratory ice cream. A credit to Miller & Carter.

A nice quiet family meal experience. Emma at the Chester branch was warm, polite and very attentive. Everyone enjoyed their meals and drinks. Espresso martini was made to perfection!
