The food was excellent, my son has a peanut allergy and we felt so well looked after by Chris who served us. Its not often I feel fully safe with my sons allergies, but chris put me at ease. I also ask a lot of questions and chris patiently answered them all. Exemplary service! Thanks Chris!

Ebony’s Service was polite, attentive, courteous, respectful and professional. Could not fault the ladies service at all. Decor and ambiance was excellent. We chose to have the lunchtime menu, have to say it had a good choice of dishes and all at a reasonable price. All the dishes we had were absolutely delicious. All cooked well and of a reasonable size for a lunch and to be able to finish 3 courses. All in all an excellent lunchtime dining experience. Most definitely 5⭐️.

Julia our waitress was lovely. But everything was so slow. A quite wednesday night - drinks order was 30 mins food starters took further 30 mins and mains was nearly 2 hrs after we got there. My elderly dad had a little fall - staff were very attentive but no drinks not even water when we got there after 20mins and as i said another 20/30 mins till drinks order was taken. Food nice

My partner and I went for our anniversary meal here and it was absolutely amazing. Chris, our lovely waiter, recommended meals when I was unsure and even surprised us with a nice little treat at the end of our meal (photo below). Food was amazing and not a long wait either.

We visited miller & carter Chester for the first time and I can honestly say it was the best experience of dining out for a long time. The service was absolutely top notch, the food was delicious and drinks were lovely, but most of all the lovely lady serving us (shell ) was so attentive and helpful with a lovely personality it really made the night. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. It’s quite expensive but we’ll with the money.

Went for a family graduation celebration and couldn’t fault it. The food was superb. Steak cooked perfectly and all the sides and drinks were excellent. All the crew were brilliant. Particularly Julie. So professional and knowledgeable, but also friendly and down to earth, a rare combination. She made the meal special, thank you!

Went to Miller and Carter for a rare dinner with my parents and had the most excellent service from Kit! She is going places! Thank you so much for the experience, Miller and Carter has definitely improved in the last year as I haven't had service like Kit's there for a long time! Thank you Kit!

Meat was great , although ordered medium and received medium rare .. this was corrected. Starter/Main course all fine. Ordered 2 apple pies for sweet. Both arrived still frozen. Disappointed so little care was taken plus so surprised that they are not fresh but frozen . I can buy frozen apple pie from the the supermarket. Waitress very pleasant and apologetic.

We ate here on Saturday night over Easter weekend. I had booked a table for 6 (or so i thought) but upon arrival realised that i had booked for the wrong date! As you can imagine, i was mortified as we were meeting family for a special meal (long lost family reunion). Fortunately, the staff must have taken pity on me and seen the look of disappointment on our faces as they rallied round and fashioned a table of 6 together for us. They were already full and we would have had to wait 2 hours for an available table. We we so grateful and relieved that we had somewhere to eat as everywhere would have been full on Easter weekend. We have eaten here twice before and it is always an amazing dining experience. Our server was Shell and she really looked after us well. Highlights of the meal were the salt and pepper calamari, scallops, rib eye steaks and the salmon. See you at Easter in 2025 and i will try and book the right day this time!

Great restaurant to have a family meal or a first date.

As you would expect from M&C this is a nice enough restaurant inside. Pleasant and efficient staff, comfortable seating. On the down side there is no parking at all close by the restaurant. The nearest parking spaces if there’s any free are across a busy dual carriageway. As for the food it was pretty mediocre, the vegetables which are normally crispy were raw. Wouldn’t recommend

Julie was our lovely server for the evening, she was warm and friendly. She was able to offer GF options for myself. We both had three course meals and wine. All food was delicious and we will definitely return in the near future. Service, food and atmosphere all excellent.

A really disappointing meal. We went to use our Christmas voucher on bank holiday Monday around 3pm. Considering it wasn’t busy the service was really poor! Once we finally ordered drinks we hat to sit staring at them on the bar for 15 minutes until someone brought them over. My fillet steak arrived on good time but undercooked. I let the waitress know so she could pass this on and she only offered to put it back on the grill which kind of ruins the experience when you have a piece of fillet steak with some meat cut off and a piece of butter still on. I’d have preferred to have been offered a new piece of meat especially with it being a fillet cut. As you can see from the photos it was definitely not medium rare (pink with a hint of red as advertised). We love miller and Carter but this occasion the place seemed understaffed and both the service and food was dreadful.

Went to Miller and Carter Chester for my Birthday meal.. Wow.. what can I say it was incredible.. service from our amazing waiter Chris.. he is a credit to your team.. great customer service!!! Our Steak was one of the best Steaks we have ever had.. we have been to many Miller and Carters but our steak from chefs Yvette and Taylor honestly the best we have ever had!!! Thank you so much to the chester team for making my birthday so very special!!! Xx

Really poor service. It took an hour for the main course arrive and then the fish was dry and the vegetables over cooked. Staff were unhelpful with a couldn’t care less attitude. Expensive and really poor. Avoid

Really nice restaurant, but was really busy, so service was a little slow. Our waitress Ebony was very friendly and polite. The only real downside was the car parking, there isn't any. They don't have their own car park. We had to park on a public car park and walk across a busy dual carriageway to get to the restaurant.

Great server food was dreadful cold the pepper corn sauce was cold aswell as the steak the butter didn't even melt on it even the fries where bad .made a complaint still waiting for a response . Visit alot but never again

My wife is Gluten and Lactose INTOLERANT not allergic, we have used Miller and Carter numerous times around the country and never had a problem but the server, Chris was such a jobsworth and wouldn't just let her order what she liked from the main menu but made her sign a waiver and was not at all flexible with what she was allowed to order, he even stated that other sites weren't operating properly by letting her choose from the main menu. This upset my wife so we left without eating anything and before I got even more annoyed and caused a much larger scene by throttling Chris.

We've been to M&C many times and we have usually had a lovely meal. However, last night was a different experience unfortunately. It was supposed to be a celebration of my 60 birthday to be started with a cocktail. The only one i like is a Pornstar martini but this wasn't possible as the bar had run out of ingredients for this. I had water instead! The service was extremely slow, it was quite obvious there weren't enough staff to cope with the amount of covers. To be honest, i was unimpressed when I saw a takeaway order being assembled, surely on such a busy, understaffed evening, the takeaway option shouldn't be available, so the staff can concentrate on the customers in the restaurant?. My particular steak was shared with my 92 year old Mum who has a small appetite so we chose the two 5 oz fillets to share. Her steak was lovely, as were my son and husband's, but mine was stringy (I'm aware sometimes this happens and is not your fault) but when our waiter asked how everything was, i mentioned this and he saw I'd left most of this on my plate. He sorted of apologised but it was just obvious he wasn't that bothered. When the bill arrived, I was a little disappointed that the full price of the two 5 oz steaks was not reduced slightly reduced as a gesture as I'd already mentioned the poor quality of mine to our waiter. We left the restaurant feeling extremely disappointed and felt my special birthday meal was a waste of money, and wished we had gone somewhere else, and what should have been a lovely evening to celebrate a milestone birthday, was ruined. Its not a cheap night out, and we choose M&C as we're usually confident we will have a lovely experience and appreciate we will pay a little more for the high quality of the food, this wasn't our experience last night.

Food was ok. I partner had the fillet and was cooked to perfection, I’m not a lover of steak but love miller & carters chicken dishes. First time trying the half roast Chicken with chorizo - it was really tough so didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would. Really like the buttermilk chicken that they used to have on the menu. Service on the other hand was fantastic. Our server chris was great, attentive and lovely but not overbearing.

Came to Chester for my birthday and as Miller & Carter is one of my favourite places to eat we thought we’d try this one and it didn’t disappoint. Excellent service from our lovely server Kit and the food was, as always, amazing. Would definitely recommend

My wife and I were doing the Chester Mystery Adventure and decided to combine this with lunch at the Miller and Carter Steakhouse. We had the set lunch menu but paid a supplement for the Filet Mignon which I have to say was worth every penny! Best steak I’ve had in a long time, good enough to ring the bell! Service from Shell was friendly and helpful and first class. Mini pud with coffee was lovely way to round off the meal. Thanks also to Charlotte, Guest Care Rep for sorting e-voucher for me

We enjoyed a superb steak meal with friends on Saturday 16th March 2024. Our server, Jay was efficient, polite and very engaging. This is one of our favourite restaurants in Chester.

Food was delicious… we both had the signature burger… topped the fillet tails.. it was incredible… the 3 sides for £10 were also good… the salad is a bit small. Our server was Chris.. he was so friendly and smiley and attentive and was happy...

We were half way through our steak platter and couldn’t eat anymore as it was stone cold. I spoke to the manager who said there was nothing he could do other than give us a 10% reduction. I declined this as I thought it was...

We had high hopes for this restaurant based on the reviews, but we were sorely disappointed. We found the waitress rude and inattentive and the quality of the starters was unsatisfactory. As for the main meal, we never got to try the “award winning steaks” as the waitress cocked up our order. Instead of bringing everything out at the same time like we requested, we waited over 45mins and in the end decided to cancel the mains because we lost our appetite waiting. Based on this unfortunate experience, I wouldn’t recommend this place on this occasion.

Had the loveliest meal for my Dads 50th. Amazing food with the best service from Chris, thank you for looking after us :)

As for the food, quite possibly one of the best steaks we've had at a Miller & Carter, 12 oz Sirloin cooked to perfection! Absolutely delicious! What's not to like, wonderful people, beautiful surrounds and sublime food! Looking forward to our next visit already, Thank You very much to all☺

Great food Chris looked after us brilliantly

From when I first started eating at this place many years ago it has gone downhill. On the last two occasions I have been it has been disappointing.The steak was wrongly cooked twice on the first occasion and on the second went for the aged beef fillet at £38.50. One piece was nice the other tough. Side of greens came totally frazzled and covered in grease. I asked for another portion to replace and they were brought out in the same condition when I had more or less finished my meal. Left disappointed and out of pocket.
