I called in to this country pub today as I was en route to a meeting in Congleton. The staff were so welcoming, friendly and polite. I was delighted to discover home - cooked ham - no ultra processed stuff! The food is proper home cooking. I also met someone from my own home country! A very pleasant experience within a friendly pub setting.

What a disappointment! We loved going to Pecks so decided to try the new venue. The service was slow, our party of 4 had 3 starters come out and whilst waiting for the 4th there food went cold! We ordered drinks that never came so we cancelled and the cauliflower cheese was awful , hard Cauliflower in a very watery sauce. Very overpriced to say the least! Sorry Pecks we won't be back , such a shame!

The restaurant was shut on Friday teatime and there was only 1 other person in there. The barman was on his phone with boxes on the bar that obviously needed putting away. No welcome when we arrived and hubby said that his expensive pint of beer tasted 'old'.

A friend and I met up here lunch here recently. Neither of us had been for a while and both of us were very impressed with the additions - extended car park and stunning conservatory. The atmosphere is very relaxing. Even though it was busy the service was great without being obtrusive. As always the food was of good quality and presentation excellent. Look forward to visiting again.

Called in after a long walk, had a couple of pleasant drinks. Didn't eat. Well, unless you count crisps, which, I suppose technically is eating. So, did eat and the crisps were nice. That said, a crisp is a crisp is a crisp. They were nice crisps though. Would recommend for a drink, nice atmosphere. Oh, and they do crisps.

Sat in the beer garden with family, lovely atmosphere and great food. Two things let this place down and it's a real shame: Coffee cups are TINY - Father was absolutely devastated and thirsty by the time his food got there. Staff also seemed a little miserable. They were helpful but distant.

After our excellent tour of LMH in conditions that made you feel for the poor workers of the day, we were ready for coffee and cake. Separate pots of filter coffee and a jug of very hot milk; cheese scones and a slice of Bakewell, just what we needed. Even on a poor weather day, both cafés were busy, hopefully you will get a seat.

Delicious fresh food as a "light bite" menu. We had homemade parsnip and apple soup with wholemeal bread. Goats cheese and beetroot quiche with potato salad and side salad. Pot of tea for two. Good value and fresh.

This place has a vast amount of things for children to play on. However don’t expect to get food quick- they have two cage areas but one is never open and the other has a constant huge queue because the staff take forever! Even if you want drinks you have to queue with the food and last time we queued for 25 minutes! Ridiculous when you have children to supervise and feee!
