Excellent tasty food and brilliant service from the young ladies, despite it being a very busy lunchtime....really enjoyed our visit - many thanks !!

Really nice lunch with family on a day close to Christmas. Cosily decorated, staff were very attentive and friendly, food was piping hot with a good selection for vegetarians, and a nice Chilean sauvignon blanc. It was really busy but we weren't rushed, there were groups of people in for Christmas lunches and still everything was really good. Would definitely recommend

Last time I had a meal here it was Lovely and plenty of it. This time the service was extremely poor with the most ignorant young waitress there could possibly be. No smile no help at all in fact just this continues miserable face with a very abrasive attitude. The meal I chose was gammon steak, I asked if it was a premium steak as this makes a big difference to the quality. When it arrived I just knew it was not and there wasn't much of it either, likewise with the chunky chips, very disappointed with the whole experience from start to finish. Definitely gone down hill since my last visit. £60.00 down the drain.

Always have a lovely meal here. Went once and had choico pasta it was delicious but not seen it on the menu since, I'm sure it will be back sorry missed the chicken out but it was lovely 😊

We came here this morning for breakfast with Santa. First time here and what a beautiful pub with lovely friendly warm staff. The breakfast was lovely and the Santa was the best I’ve seen. My son loved every minute. Thank you for a lovely morning.

Just back from our work Christmas lunch and what a lovely place. Was very impressed with the décor of the pub, it really made me want to stay. It was lovely and warm and the Christmas decorations were amazing. The food was great and the staff were brilliant. I'll definitely go again!

Asked for plain chicken and received a flat burnt thing that was hard on the edges and only managed eat the centre of it, the fries were more like the bits that are left at the end of a frozen bag. Husbands scampi and mother's fish were both very greasy and tasteless. Lived in the area for 55 years and this was the first time we came here and the last.

Absolutely beautiful meal from the Christmas menu. The service was very good a lovely Christmas atmosphere. Three course meal. Well worth it!

I was with a group of six for a Pre Christmas get together on 06/12/24 and we really enjoyed the experience. The food and choice of beers were excellent and I have to praise the service given by the staff. Thank you again 🌲and have a lovely successful Christmas.

We went on Sunday for a family lunch, could not fault anything. Food was delicious, no waiting. Staff were really attentive and friendly. A lovely cosy feeling. Will be booking again very soon.

Food great as always! Big portions and hot! Dessert was lovely and staff were very accommodating for us. Loved the Christmas decorations. Very impressed as always and will be back. The salt and pepper chicken burger was great. It's a shame that we couldn't get the Hunters chicken burger but the other menu options made it so it didn't matter.

Stopped off with the wife for dinner and what a lovely place, welcoming and cozy. I had the sea food linguine followed by meringue blob and the wife had vegan shepherds pie followed by vegan ice cream. All the food was delicious. Service and atmosphere first rate.

Book for Sunday lunch. Had a drink at the bar first. Taken to table and ordered a stater first then had roast beef with all the trimmings very nice .and a pudding after very nice. Service was great can wait go again Richard

Lovely pub, well presented with a homely feel and friendly staff and service. Have to say the food could have been better, decent portions, I had the brisket chilli which was nice but overspiced and my fianceé had the chicken burger but the chicken was stringy and a bit tough. Overall 7/10

I would visit this establishment again , welcoming staff , drinks reasonably priced, the only downside for me was the burgers are that thick they don’t get fully cooked in the middle /raw , I didn’t complain so ,,,, but the desserts are delicious

Superb pub for family meals, we visited twice during our holiday in the area and are so glad we did as the food was good value. Lovely old fashioned looking pub with lots of room inside, really busy both times we went which is an indication of how popular it is so ensure you book. Sunday lunch was nothing short of terrific and the special Fish and Chips night was excellent value. The staff were all polite, efficient and very friendly so what more could one ask for. Large car park at the back and a kids play area so great for families.

Birthday lunch for family could not fault it will definitely be back.

we went on Sunday 27/10/24 absolutely lovely, I had the honey roast ham and my husband had the fish and chips, was all beautifully cooked. lovely atmosphere lovely staff definitely recommend and will be returning

Came in for an impromptu visit with my young kids and husband, well the host was very erm rude about the fact we hadn’t booked (we were aware we may not get a table but tried anyway) there was no need to be so rude. Secondly we ordered, food came relatively quick which was great but the garlic bread I could have broken my teeth on, rock solid. Chips were burnt. Then when I asked the waitress for the children’s menu ( said when you have a spare minute can you pass us the menu, quite nicely not rushing her at all) so I could order a dessert for my son, she rolled her eyes and told me to wait as she was busy! 👀

Another lovely evening of drinks and nibbles made even more special by one of Eric’s famous talks and slide show giving a glimpse into how things used to be. Tonight was particularly entertaining as it featured the local history of The Bleeding Wolf itself and associated colourful happenings surrounding the pub.

Great country pub, excellent choice of beers to choose from.

Food was very mid, had the pie which was a huge let down. Veg looked dry but the chips were pucca.

Had mushroom stroganoff with rice which was served on a very shallow dish,I felt was not value for money @ £14.50,as I was still hungry after,would make a good starter !

Great quality food and brilliant staff no more to say. Will be returning to try other dishes on the menu.

Very tasty Thai red chicken curry, hit the spot and super spicy, well worth a visit.. lovely old building from 1934 and the toilet informed me they are still the original tiles

Beautiful venue, friendly and accommodating staff. 4 different meals ordered and we all agreed it was lovely. The prices seemed a little steep and they don’t serve Guinness so half a star knocked off! We had friends visiting from overseas, so we wanted to choose an old English pub. They loved it. I asked in the reservation if we could sit by a fire and this was accommodated perfectly, with staff offering us two choices of tables by fires.

Main meals were absoluely delicious. Profiteroles would have been better without the defrosted berries as the juice mixed with the chocolate sauce and wasn't pleasant

We arrived for dinner to celebrate my mum and dad‘s anniversary. We were a party of 11 and we didn’t pre order all I can say is what a lovely experience it was. The service was very very good , friendly staff, great ambiance , the food arrived quickly and we thought it was excellent value for money. would highly recommend and hope to return soon Thank you.

We had a lovely lunch and there were Gluten Free options for me.

This is our of our favourite places for breakfast or lunch, bonus it's dog friendly and in a lovely location just off the canal. We called in for lunch and sat in the small dining area just off the bar. Service was very efficient and the sandwiches we ordered were lovely. Such a shame a family who were also having lunch, were unable to do this without having their child's tablet playing on loud speaker, then and the woman did the same on her phone. Maybe pubs needs to have no loud speaker policy, this behaviour is happening more and more and is starting to put us off going out for meals, such a shame as it's what we do quite often but it's getting spoilt more and more by inconsiderate people.

Been here twice now & each time we have always had lovely home made style food with good size portions ( especially some of the cakes!) & the prices are reasonable. There isn't too many vegetarian options which is something that could possibly be improved on. The staff are all very pleasent & helpful, always checking if everything is ok, creating a nice relaxed atmosphere. The pub itself is a cracking looking thatch roofed building set in a nice location with a nice beer garden & a kids playground complete with free running chickens & guinea fowl lol! I would thoroughly recommend this pub 👍

I always love coming to the Bleeding Wolf. Food is always good, great beer that’s kept well, friendly and attentive staff and a generally lovely atmosphere. Lucky to live within walking distance of this great pub.

Stopped here for a quick dinner. Staff are friendly and service is quick. The Food we ordered are very tasty with generous portions. Also had their hot drink and cake offer, not bad. The pub has many nice features, such as a book swap corner and original tiles in the toilet.

The queue time at the bar was lengthy and expensive for two drinks. It’s a busy place and atmosphere good. Seemed too busy for the number of staff working but great place at an expensive price.

Beautiful pub and surrounding landscape. Loved the childrens park area. Starter excellent. Main was a bit disappointing. The vegetables, boiled potatoes a bit tasteless, greens a little tired and overcooked. The steak amd ale pastry and gravy inside was tasty but the steak was a bit sparse.

Visited 3/8/2024. 5 people Arrived to be told you are in the dog area In a very bad manner I didn’t want to sit in the bar/ dog area which I said to the girls on the reception She said we booked up you will have to sit over there then. We walked over to an almost empty room People were refusing to pay due to the bad food We almost walked out. I ask the girl if we could sit over by the window Her remarks ….why do you need to change seats this is for 5 people no different than the table you were shown to can’t see the point.. My reply …. Because I would like to sit by the window so we walked over to the table and then our family arrived. The girls were very rude slamming drinks down and talking about me . The food was not up to standard We will not be visiting again and I will give no recommendations out I suggest you put those very rude staff on a training course. I wouldn’t have them working for me Thanks janet

The Cumberland sausage that should have come with seasonal veg came with only peas and green beans,no carrots ,broccoli ,cauliflower etc..The 2 chicken burgers were extremely tough,chewy and rather tasteless.The service atmosphere and staff were brilliant as usual,just a shame about the food this visit.

We enjoyed excellent fish and chips, the best we’ve had in a good while. The staff were really friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere was warm and cosy

Excellent service and catering for 19 of us was difficult, especially with 1 member having a food sensitivity. However, there were just a couple of small issues with some of the food. The pie (2 meals) was quite gristly with at least 3 lumps of inedible gristle in each. The salmon was hard at one end and the kids meal came with peas when it was ordered with beans. Otherwise, for such a large group, everything was excellent

Awful food. 7 of us went one Sunday 1pm got served 2pm. Nobody enjoyed their meals. Would never go again.

Lovely local pub. Quite busy on a Friday night given the nice weather. Olay okay for under 7, as quite basic. Chickens and other animals roaming are a nice touch. Food was good and service was friendly.

We were in the area visiting a national trust property and saw the pub on the way home and thought it was worth a try. Despite being busy, as it was a beautiful day, we were given a warm, friendly welcome and escorted to a table. Our drinks order was taken straight away and upon bringing our drinks, our food order was taken. We didn't have to wait long for our starters and I was amazed at the amount of mussels! It was a huge helping, with a delicious garlic and white wine sauce. My husbands black pudding stack was tasty too. We were given enough time between courses, before our mains were brought to us and again, we were amazed at the portion sizes! My fish was huge and my husbands ham roast was plentiful too. There was a good selection on the menu and the prices were less than similar pubs we've visited. The pub was quant and traditionally decorated and was extremely busy without being noisy. The service we received was excellent, personable and very friendly. I would recommend anyone to visit here, you won't be disappointed.

Been here a few times, before today it was only 3 weeks prior and had a fantastic Sunday roast today started fantastic with dealings with a great manageress great service and drinks brought to us and fantastic starter but after this once we finished our starter it was 40 mins before we got our main course with which we needed to ask, once it did come straight away we had to ask for our Yorkshires to be warmed up as they were stone cold, the waitress said well I've got you fresh now as the others will have to be binned but said with attitude then when tucking into the rest we found it all only just warm and the cauliflower cheese had no florets in it and was just cheese and bits of cauliflower mush and the greens were just as bad peas with odd pieces of stalks from other greens looks like we had received leftover veg from others plates to add to our luke warm roast and cold Yorkshires. So disappointed as we thought we had found a real gem

First time back after some years. Food was fantastic as was the service. We will be back again soon.

Went to the bleeding wolf with my mother who is in a wheelchair Plenty of room for the wheelchair but recommend booking food and staff great Recommend the mushroom stroganoff no need to be a veggie you can add beef strips.

The quality and variety of the food was excellent and the service from all of the team was very friendly and accommodating.

Arrived bang on time 7pm Saturday 3 aug 2024 Booked three weeks earlier We arrived and told by this very rude young girl who shouted YOU ARE IN THE BAR , DOG FRIENDLY I said we have no dog and don’t want to be in the bar She said we are fully booked I said I’m not going in the bar She said well you will have to go over there in another room We have a table but I wanted to sit in another table Another rude girl said What’s up with this table it’s sits five it’s no different I said I would like the table by the window She was very rude I said are you all miserable here So we moved or we would of gone home The table next to were complaining about the discussing food And wanted a refund My family arrived this was a celebration of something very delicate not prepared to say We decided to stay The food was ok not brilliant Would not go there again Until the staff had some training in manners And the cook is assessed Good money wasted

Third time we have visited. Pub looks really nice and it’s got such a great outdoor space with lots for young kids to play with, and run around to burn off some energy pre and post food. Nice garden area with features to play in, chickens and their pen, small playground area with slide etc. and large field for football and other sports. I actually wasn’t overly impressed by my food this time. I had the rendang curry with high hopes but it was really bland. The rice was just plain and watery and the curry had no spice, and it was just basically like chicken chunks in a tomato sauce with one cashew nut. My husbands pie and chips meal was very tasty though - he enjoyed it and I had a try. Kids meals are a good size and my 2 and 4 year old loved their meal of sausage and mash which they shared. The ice cream sundaes for kids are a bit boring though. 3 scoops of ice cream and a wafer. Could do with some sauce or sprinkles or something else. But that’s a minor point as my kids enjoyed it. We do love coming here. Foods always been amazing the other times we have visited. Lovely inside and out. Would definitely return. Just hoping the feedback on the curry is taken on board as the menu makes it sound much more authentic than it actually is. I wouldn’t call it a rendang curry. It’s more like a microwave Tesco basic chicken curry. Otherwise, I’ve still given 5 stars as we really enjoy it here.

We thoroughly recommend The Bleeding Wolf in Scholar Green , our meal and service was outstanding as well as the atmosphere, and considering how busy it was for a Monday evening, every dish was delicious.

Fabulous Sunday roast delicious

We went here for a works doo. I’d never been before, but I was very impressed and will definetly be returning. All staff were very friendly and kept checking In on us throughout our visit. The food was exceptional, very tasty and fresh. Will be returning!

Breakfast at the Bleeding Wolf today 14/7/24 was superb. We were greeted with a cheery welcome from the manager and give a choice of tables. I ordered a full English and it was delivered to our table in no time at all. We were offered eggs done to our taste and my eggs were poached to perfection. The food was hot and cooked just the way I like it. As we were leaving the manager recognised me as a regular on Christmas Eve and let me know that the menus will be available very soon and bookings would taken easily the best overall breakfast experience ever anywhere
