A great place to have a meal. The restaurant is inviting, clean with a nice ambience. I had the duck starter with skinny fries. Unfortunately the duck was a bit overcooked and crispy for my liking. The fries were delicious. Hubby had gammon which he loved and my friends had the unicorn pie which they thoroughly enjoyed. Free parking, very friendly staff. Highly recommended and I would come again.

Food way over priced, seafood linguine consisted of 4 mussels some salmon and some white fish what was not sure of swamped in sauce and supposed sea food hidden by garlic bread. Mrs went for chicken burger but was disappointed aswell. The beer is expensive compared to other local pubs. Outside area is good for kids but you can't order food to this area. I would post a photo but unfortunately it won't let me 👎

This really is a brilliant pub. For me, it manages to be everything for everyone, somehow without over stretching itself. Real ale, great menu, "proper pub" feel at the bar, fantastic outdoor space with play equipment for kids and a great story behind the name. There's regular events (everything from gin festivals to car shows) and on a bank holiday there's usually a bouncy castle out the back. The team are wonderful and management work hard to make the pub part of the village community. Booking ahead for a meal recommended!

The service provided by the staff was friendly but slow. The quality of the food was a bit disappointing. The chicken Kebab only had 3 small pieces of chicken and the rest were just onions, peppers and salad. For the price it was definitely not worth it! The mushy peas that accompanied the fish and chips was really dry and rather unpleasant. We had to ask 3 times for a glass of water.

ambiance was nice but food was average and overcooked. Chicken burger was dry and my daughters burger was well overcooked. The staff asked too late if the meal was ok because my daughter was staving and ate her chips/ Yes we got a free dessert for her in replacement but you would expect the food to be of better quality especially as the pub was quiet.

We nipped on for lunch after being at Freeport talke, my partner has been a couple of times before with a friend and she suggested here, seated straightaway, partner had the brie wedges and scampi off the 2/3 course lunch menu and as there was £5 off the burgers on a Thursday I had the peri peri wings starter and the salt & pepper chicken burger as it was £5 off, drinks came quickly, starters were lovely, my wings were done superb and I was surprised at the size of the Brie wedges starter as well, we polished off the starters and then for the mains, the salt & pepper fries with the chicken burger are superb, 2 big onion rings in a very light batter, really nice coleslaw as all, partner has scampi with nice chunky homemade chips, peas and tartare sauce, both polished off and nothing left as they were lovely, definitely coming back, food excellent, service excellent 5 star from me

We were given the menu with the offer of 2 courses for £13, or 3 courses for £15(I think) My friend and I have health issues and just wanted to have a starter and dessert, but we weren’t allowed to do this. We thought it was very strange as overall it was cheaper for the pub if we did so. There seemed to be no leeway, computer says no. So we ended up just having soup, which was lovely.

The Bleeding Wolf Scholar green is a great typical English pub / restaurant situated on the main A34 between Stoke & Congleton. Built in 1935 ish it still has some original features and is serviced by a large well marked out car park. We booked a table for 11 for a 60th birthday celebration & we were seated in their function room where we had plenty of room on a large dark wood table fit for a banquet . The menu is varied & well priced for the quality of food. I started with crispy duck in 2 bau buns with a very tasty spicy sauce dip. Others had halloumi fingers & dip & the Irish mussels - all of which were also delicious & very tasty I followed with traditional beef Sunday lunch with full trimmings - delicious hot & well worth the cost. I treated my waistline to a dessert & had an ice cream sundae served in a traditional jug pint glass & the fact that I wanted no cream made room for an extra scoop of ice cream and was no trouble to the chef. Others in my party had Fish & Chips or Scampi & the choice of desserts were varied. The food was hot & the service was first class - No request was too much trouble even though the pub was full to the brim with diners so I would suggest booking in advance. A good atmosphere in nice warm surroundings made this meal a pleasure & I would not hesitate to recommend this pub / restaurant which was first rate in my opinion.

After seeing so many good reviews I really had high expectations but when I rang I asked for a table out of the way in a corner how ever the table we had was in the middle of the room like it had just been dropped there. Food was okay but not the best I had garlic mushrooms with toasted bread fingers and it was over cooked and really hard mains were decent bit pricey for what we had but then I had banoffee sundea which after eating a few small spoon fulls discovered black mushy banana the restaurant did knock this off the bill but still shouldn't serve food in this quality feel let down after we spent 97£ on food for just 2 of us P.s thanks for reply here is a screenshot of the date and time I rang so it was just over a week because of the reply making out I'm a lair I've decided to remove a star

Last time I had a meal here it was Lovely and plenty of it. This time the service was extremely poor with the most ignorant young waitress there could possibly be. No smile no help at all in fact just this continues miserable face with a very abrasive attitude. The meal I chose was gammon steak, I asked if it was a premium steak as this makes a big difference to the quality. When it arrived I just knew it was not and there wasn't much of it either, likewise with the chunky chips, very disappointed with the whole experience from start to finish. Definitely gone down hill since my last visit. £60.00 down the drain.
