Love this place. Proper pub with proper pub food. Good atmosphere, good prices and the best chips you'll ever have

Best pub welcome and food! Phil always makes us welcome and Teresa cooks our meal to perfection. Tonight Phil asked if we would like the log burner lit...do you know a landlord who shows such interest in his customers?

A great pub. Great food and drink. Landlord is a gentleman and his wife a fantastic cook. I always have the gammon washed down with a few beers. Menu is varied, TVs not too intrusive and a good selection of drinks including the local gin. Take plenty of cash as they do not take cards. (they now take cards, still a fantastic pub:) I would travel to visit this pub but am lucky enough to live 2 mins away!

Excellent service with a warm wellcome. Beautiful home cooked food. Lovely friendly atmosphere. Ideal place to go in couples,family or on your own. Sport shown on T.V so very welcoming for football , darts or rugby watching. Just a great all round friendly pub.

Over 100 attended a post race charity run. The Crown had enough room for all plus the regulars. Food good. Decent selection of hand pulled beer. Service decnet considering thr numbers

Visited here yesterday and what a great pub to have as a local , friendly people in a great atmosphere, , nice beers and if I lived there I would definitely use this place more ,, see you again in the future

Came here for a family meal, was worried it was going to be a rowdy pub when I saw the tv with sport on at the bar, but the regulars were really well behaved. Really good menus which were nice and clean (I personally hate when you go to a pub and have to flick through a greasy paged menu) . Food order was taken by a very polite man who clearly asked what sides we wanted. Our food was delicious, the chips were amazing. I ate all of mine and most of my families chips as they were full up lol. Beer was lovely too. Only thing I’d have to say is that it might be good if diners could order drinks at the table and pay the bill at the table maybe as the bar could sometimes get busy. Or maybe have a small section of the bar reserved to the right of the bar for diners to pay and wait for drinks etc, just so they don’t feel like they are in the way of the tv. This is not a criticism just a suggestion, everything else was great! Keep up the good work, I’ll deffo recommend.

Met some friends here for an evening meal , hadn’t been before but it had been recommended to us. Well .... when we walked in the log fire was welcoming us, what a lovely lovely country pub. The staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful. The food was fresh and tasty really good value. We all had different and everyone of us said our meal had been lovely !

Excellent service and wonderful food

Having recently moved to the area we went with some friends for a meal and drinks for the first time. Extremely impressed..... great warm welcome from bar staff and landlord Ian. The food was excellent and couldn’t be faulted, also well priced. I had a steak which was cooked to perfection and the others all commented how good their food was. Luckily we now live within walking distance so it would be rude not to visit again.

very nice pub and restaurant.. Our quiz team 5 adults went for a Sunday evening meal.. Very nice food and service.. We sat on the lower level and were kept warm by a log burning fire.. so nice and cosy..

My new local. Excellent choice in beers. The staff are very happy and friendly. They have big tv’s all around for the sports. Food is fresh and home cooked, at a reasonable price. Almost perfection!!

Friendiy atmosphere with great food

Booked in here for a family birthday. Not eaten here before so was not know what to expect. The food and service were exceptional and all the steaks ordered by our table were cooked to perfection. And the chips were to die for. As a chef myself it has also given me ideas for great food. Will certainly return and definitely recommend. And not to mention the fantastic beer selection. Estrella, peroni and San Miguel. What more could a premium lager lover ask for.

Spent an enjoyable darts night at The Crown, fantastic hospitality and amazing food

Having moved in to the locality late in 2017 I have frequented this pub on a good number of occasions. The owner is very friendly and accommodating, the home cooked food is excellent value for money and the atmosphere is great. There’s a great selection of lagers and cask ales which are rotated. What a great pub! Back again soon.

Visited The Crown for a family members birthday and although on the small side found it to be very busy with locals ( usually a good sign ) Good choice of home made food ! the cod and chips were excellent ! Good choice of beers with it being a free house and very friendly atmosphere. Already booked our next visit with friends.

Good food,and all ways have a nice time there made too feel very welcome by Phil and all the staff .

Fabulous food and great service! Book if you want to ensure you get a table. My partner has the gammon and I always order the Cajun chicken..it's so good. My sister and hubby couldn't believe how delicious the hand cut chips were when they visited. My dad claims he had the best steak ever at the crown! We have never had a disappointing meal. Food is served Thurs to Sunday in the evening. They don't currently accept cards for payment. This pub is really friendly, always clean and has lovely decor. They even do cocktails!

The best pub in miles, loving owners, great atmosphere, amazing food and perfect beer.

Home cooked food, good and friendly service, advisable to book as only small pub and always busy. Parking can be a bit of a problem but can park in the street a short walk away. Will definitely eat there again.

I have lived in Mow Cop (well, Mount Pleasant) for over 10 years and am very glad this is my local. The beer is excellent, food even better.

We've lived in the area for years and finally called in a week ago, extremely clean, great menu and choice of beers. For sure we'll be back to sample the food which looked great.

Siempre llamamos a la Corona cuando en la zona. Siempre tenía una buena cerveza y a veces quedamos para comer. Perros, lo cual es fantástico, ya que es una buena zona de paseo. La gente es amable y el personal es de lo más acogedor.

Comida de cumpleaños con la familia y amigos. Hemos estado muchas veces antes. Nunca tuvimos una mala comida. El personal es muy amable, no puedo hacer más por ti. Nada malo que decir continuará a visitar! ! !

Reserve una mesa para mi cumpleaños y ¡una comida hermosa que tuvimos. Bistec fue preparado exactamente como lo pedí, las fichas son las mejores que hemos tenido y Phil el propietario era amable. Reservamos una mesa temprano y nos alegramos porque las mesas pronto llenó. Sin duda lo recomiendo, pero aconsejaría reservar una mesa. Volveremos muy pronto.

Es un pub acogedor pueblo que sirve comida durante los fines de semana, he comido aquí en varias ocasiones. Una buena selección de cervezas de barril y vinos a precios razonables. La comida es buena comida de pub con generosas porciones y el pescado y las patatas fritas siempre son fantásticas. Se informa de que actualmente sólo aceptamos pagos en efectivo y reserva es esencial si desea cenar.

Oh wow i couldnt believe how lovely this pub was. Inside was lovely. The decor and lighting was really warm and comfy. The landlord, Phil, was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. We were shown our table and also offered to move if we so wished. We bought drinks at the bar and i was amazed at the choice of draught beers and lagers. The Crown is a Free House which is why the variety is good. I chose a cocktail which was lovely. The menu is vast and theres definitely something for everyone. There was a specials board too so we were all spoilt for choice. I am a vegetarian and was happy with the choices of meals. Phil explained some of the dishes to my parents, he was so pleasant and helpful. Our meals were so delicious and we had real hand cut chips too. It was nice to have real homemade food. The portions were generous and the prices really good. I couldn't resist having homemade cheesecake for dessert!!!! Again the choice of sweets was difficult to choose just one dish! We were all really really impressed and will most definitely be going back again soon. Its advisable to book a table because it is quite busy. Parking was easy because there is a carpark at thd rear but there was room at the front too. I am disabled but found it easy to use the entrance. I would highly recommend The Crown Inn to everyone. You won't be disappointed.

Called in for a bite to eat. Beautiful food, very friendly staff , and locals! Best pub meal I've had in years!

We have recently moved to the area and decided on the spur of the moment to pop in for something to eat. Although we were close to the cut off for their food service times they provided menus and took our order quickly. When the food arrived it looked great, the chips in particular were lovely, reminding me of my childhood! The food was outstanding, well cooked, well presented and very tasty. My steak with homemade Diane sauce was excellent!When it came to pay we discovered that they didn't have a card machine but they were so lovely and reassured us that it happens a lot and to come and pay tomorrow! We nipped home to get some cash and popped back to pay, frankly we were amazed that they were so relaxed about it! I would highly recommend this pub, great food, great staff, great atmosphere but remember to take cash!

We arrived without book on Bank Holiday Monday , we managed get a table for 6 plus small dog .The guy behind the bar is always so friendly treats you like a local . The landlord fitted us in to eat before time food actually starts to accommodate us.. The food arrived without much wait and we can honest say it was the best tasting pub food we had had for the value we paid , my partner had the Beer battered fish & chips ( the fish was pure white and crispy batter ) the best he had for a long time . I had a special spicy lasagne & chips whichWas most interesting and so tasty . Landlord gave us his mobile to text if needed to book a table , refreshing to go out be made to feel so relaxed in a pub and such quality traditional homemade food .Thank you so much Phil , we will definitely be back soon .Fab pub you are keeping in mount pleasant !
