The best restaurants in High Legh Cheshire East North West

Visited with friends and didn’t know what to expect as none of us had been before. Needn’t have worried as venue was perfect and staff very attentive. The vegetarian menu was interesting and well executed by the chef, to make the humble carrot, cabbage etc very tasty. Even us carnivores were well impressed! We will be back 😋😋

Every Sunday during British Summertime, different charities and local good causes take the Hall, (the Old Village School Building in the triangle of roads) to raise funds and enormous praise for the fabulous homemade cooking! Although the title is ‘Teas’, I find I can put together a nice light lunch of sandwiches and quiche, and then I can’t resist staying on for the Tea!! Great fun, great causes, great prices and absolutely fantastic baking, I recommend you make it a regular event because it’s something special.

Having booked for lunch over the phone well in advance, we arrived on time, to be told there was no sign of a booking made in my name.. i was then 'interrogated' as to when exactly I had made the booking, and with whom.. the two female members of staff were dismissive and made excuses as to why there was no booking. I told them I had asked for e-mail confirmation and was told. 'we're too busy to do that'.. It was my birthday and had arrived with family members, we were all shocked by the 'reception' we were given.. there was no indoor table available.. as it happens, the place looked overcrowded, dark and pokey.. somewhat uninviting.. We had not been to the Bears Paw before, and will not be returning.

Known Claudia and Richard since they were at The Chetwode Arms, always freshly cooked food, not had a bad meal yet. Recently tried the home cooked pies, absolutely delicious well worth trying

As if the magnificent surroundings and resplendent building are not enough, the quality of home made delights on offer, make this 'up there' with some of the best tea rooms I've visited. Home made bread, quiches, cakes... hot drinks served in China ware - utterly delicious! You are transported back to another era, a taste of the finer things. Enjoy!

We don’t visit often because we are in Stockport, but when we do, we are never disappointed , The Staff are alway friendly, the food is fresh , so you may have a little wait sometime, but t is worth waiting for , if you want fast food then go to McDonalds , The Atmosphere is lovely, wish I lived closer then it would definitely be my local,

Went to the cottons for breakfast with my family and the service was quality 👌 garth who I think was the manager was very attentive and george went above and beyond to make sure that we had everything. The food was really good and if you have a sweet tooth I would recommend the waffles and bacon 😋. Already planing our next visit.

This hotel is ideal and provides a pleasant atmosphere in the bar area, big thankyou to team including George, Hannah, Georgia and Lucy for your welcome and excellent customer service over the last few weeks . The Kilton Inn has the potential to be perfect with some extra touches and improvements. Yes I would recommend staying at the hotel.

Stopped here on the way to the airport and had a great meal. Service and value for money is excellent. Would definitely recommend

Had a wonderful meal in the club lounge, George was very professional and polite, I had the lamb which was delicious 🤤, was a bit noisy with all the golf members, but overall had a lovely evening , nothing was too much trouble.

Pretty down to earth golfers bar with bar staples such as fish and chips, etc. Lots of people drinking lager in shorts

Decent product range. Mixture of garden supplies, clothing and lifestyle products. Large cafe restaurant

As a Conference centre was an excellent location. Serve and food excellent. Spa e to learn was great and excellent parking space.

The menu has changed drastically since we last visited during lockdown. It has reduced significantly. However the real reason for my low score was that I was supposed to be meeting a friend there for dinner on a Monday evening. When I phoned to confirm the booking, I was told they weren't doing food that evening. However I struggled to contact my friend, so decided the best course of action was to wait in the carpark to let them know we had to go elsewhere. After 20 minutes, I figured my friend had got the message, so I left. 15 days later, I get a £100 parking charge for my 22 minutes. If there were signs, they weren't obvious in the dark. Needless to say I won't return to the Windmill. Ever.
