As if the magnificent surroundings and resplendent building are not enough, the quality of home made delights on offer, make this 'up there' with some of the best tea rooms I've visited. Home made bread, quiches, cakes... hot drinks served in China ware - utterly delicious! You are transported back to another era, a taste of the finer things. Enjoy!

No matter what day of the week, or time of day that you visit, the warm friendly welcome, relaxed atmosphere, beautiful surroundings and gorgeous homemade food is always the same. The homemade soup and sandwiches are freshly made and delicious. If you've got room, try one of the homemade cakes. Lemon drizzle cake, served in very generous portions and with a pot of tea (made with proper loose leaf tea, not teabags) is sublime. Once you've discovered Tabley Tea Rooms you'll kick yourself that you didn't find it sooner.

This was my fourth visit and it never disappoints:) The room is amazing with a huge and wonderful C16 fireplace and stained glass windows. Lovely vintage crockery and super home cooked food with a golden Labrador to greet you as you enter. I have just introduced my husband to its charms and he is equally enthusiastic. In fact we like it so much that we arrange our visits over the Pennines to coincide with its opening times!!!

The setting is just perfect within the historic Tabley house. The room itself is just amazing with the most splendid fire place and stained glass windows. The furniture, crockery, teapots etc. are all mix and match which ads a quirky look and feeling to the many styles. Service was excellent and very helpful and the lunches hit the spot as did the lovely cake. Go ahead and treat yourself, and do not forget to have a look in the church which is accessed through the restaurant .

I'm loath to just moan but they gave me a fair few reasons. Staff are really nice, place is lovely, but get sat down and the disappointment starts. Dirty tablecloth, sticky place mat, lipstick on a supposedly clean cup. When the food arrived so did the fruit flies. The window and sill were covered in cobwebs so even the spiders aren't doing a great job. Anyway it wasn't all bad, the food was nice, soup was a bit too thick more like a broth. Ploughmans was lovely. A walk in the chapel afterwards to soak up the history and atmosphere was great. Will have difficulty with wheelchair access to the toilets. There is seating outside which is nice. All in all a pleasant diversion marred only by poor hygiene especially at a time when we still have covid.

It's marvelous, you park your car and wade through the thickets and suddenly emerge at this beautiful ancient building, leave your bow and arrows at the door and be greeted by a really nice couple who prepare a lovely afternoon tea with delicious home made cakes yum, I know you might feel like ordering another choice of cakes But emm you just about stop yourself, I do recommend you go to the rear of the tearoom and through the doorway enter the tiny quant church, take a few pics. Of the windows and sit for a while, A super duper afternoon outing, then whip into knutsford and have a look around

We recently booked a small afternoon tea party to celebrate our Golden Wedding . What a delight. A beautiful venue combined with a lovely collection of china, teapots, cake stands, tablecloths etc. completed the setting. The afternoon tea was a real treat with finger sandwiches, delicious home made cakes and scones served with real clotted cream and homemade jam. Beautifully presented. All complimented by an extensive choice of teas and coffees. Debbie and her family did us proud with her warm and friendly service. She made sure everyone was looked after. It was enjoyed by all. A special place. Would I recommend it? 100% a heartfelt YES xx

The inside is so beautiful, the food is delicious and the staff are just lovely and can't do enough to help you. We enjoyed tea, homemade scones with home made strawberry jam, sat outside in the sun, overlooking stunning Cheshire countryside. What a delightful hidden gem this is. Everytime I come here, I wish I had come more often. The beverages and home-made cakes are simply delicious, and all served on quintessential traditional British tea wares, by lovely and efficient, friendly staff. And all this set in a most wonderful 17th/18th-century Jacobean-style chapel close to the splendid Palladian-style Classical house and landscaped garden setting. A more beautiful and pleasant place to take a light lunch or afternoon tea I cannot more recommend. Exquisite and excellent!

What a treat, driving down the lovely estate road to park up in the nearby car park. The cafe sits inside part of Tabley house and is dominated by the grandest of fireplaces. I was early but it was no trouble at all for the wonderful lady who was elegantly rushing around after me and some delicious smelling scones. The young Labrador gave me a fuss, and I sat outside in the morning sun enjoying a quick cuppa. All round a very nice experience.

It was my 75th birthday and I asked Debbie to cater for 40 women friends of mine. Nothing was too much trouble. Some were gluten intolerant, some vegetarians and one dairy intolerant. Not an easy bunch but nothing phased her. Mini pavlovas, warm, light as a feather scones, homemade jam, everything was delicious. The weather was appalling so although we intended to have drinks in the garden this idea had to be abandoned but she arranged to open the chapel and we all started off in there. In many ways it was preferable to the garden as the setting is lovely. Oh, I forgot to mention the home cooked beef for the sandwiches. No shop bought slices for Debbie. Amazing, if you haven't been before give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

The Tabley House website gives the impression that this is a small and rather dowdy tea shop. The menu offers a well-balanced selection of cuisine, ensuring there's something to delight every palate.
