Every Sunday during British Summertime, different charities and local good causes take the Hall, (the Old Village School Building in the triangle of roads) to raise funds and enormous praise for the fabulous homemade cooking! Although the title is ‘Teas’, I find I can put together a nice light lunch of sandwiches and quiche, and then I can’t resist staying on for the Tea!! Great fun, great causes, great prices and absolutely fantastic baking, I recommend you make it a regular event because it’s something special.

We had not been here for years but always remembered them for a fantastic afternoon tea which started at about 2.0 pm with a queue at the door. Back in the area again we found that they now open at 1.00 pm and they are still busy. We had some wonderful home made trifle, sandwiches and decent mugs of coffee. Today it was the guides, next week someone else. Back on our list again whenever we can.

My girlfriend and I had intended to try Sunday afternoon tea at this venue for a while having heard good reports about both the food and service. Each weekend between Easter and Autumn, a variety of groups host an afternoon of tea and coffee accompanied by a selection of sandwiches, cakes and pastries. We were not disappointed. The event was hosted on this occasion by the St John’s Church group. As soon as we walked in we were warmly welcomed. The display before us was a veritable feast. A good selection of sandwiches, cakes and patisseries was on offer. The service second to none. (One some restaurants should emulate). We will definitely be back for more

Took our grandson there and he loved the choice of cakes. Looks like they are all home-baked which would be my choice every time. Definitely go back - good value for money and helps the local community too.

Serviced by many and different clubs, societies on a rotational basis for afternoon teas on Sundays. Therefore it is difficult to speak for quality standard on a consistent basis. However, on the few occassions we have been, the cakes, buns, pies etc have been a very standard. It can get busy and it's no a large hall, but you can normally get in OK. Good car parking across the road.. They certainly make a great culppa. Don,t be put off by the slight fusty smell...it is an old building and it's usually in aid of a good cause

What a feast- the most amazing selection of home baked treats. The sandwiches were fresh, the cakes, trifles and flans just perfect- spoilt for choice. This week thanks to the High Legh WI but I'm sure they're all as good!

This little gem is open on Sundays only and each Sunday has a different group or local village society offering fantastic sandwiches, cakes, biscuits, huge meringues, etc. If you're looking for a traditional afternoon tea, all homemade, then come here. Its always busy and always offers outstanding value for money.

Excellent pub, excellent food, really excellent beer. Interesting approach to Sunday lunch. Rather than a big plate with everything (whether you want all of it or not), more like tapas, where you can mix and match the trimmings exactly to your wish. Overall both a great meal and extremely good value for money too.

Brilliant location, 6 lakes to choose from, members only lakes. Plenty of fish in all lakes. Bait available on site.

This is such a nice little place. Lovely staff, really pleasant atmosphere and the food was perfect. We only had tea and scones but they were lovely. The cakes looked delicious though-so we will definitely return!

Visited this place for breakfast. It was the worst I've ever had!! Ordered a full english breakfast and new to the menu and the most expensive dish, stacked pancakes with maple syrup and bacon. Sounds nice right? They were clearly old, the woman working there thought they didn't have any and then found some after a good few minutes rummaging through the fridge/freezer that was located on the main cafe floor. I was shocked for what I was served. 3 dry warmed pancakes. One of them was burnt so placed at the bottom of the stack thinking I wouldn't notice. 3 thick rashes of backed bacon not the expected streaky for this kind of dish. Then rather than serving maple syrup as advertised i was given treacle!! It was awful. The full English breakfast appeared to look nice but the sausage was the worst my husband said he'd ever tasted. He said they were really cheap and he couldn't eat them. The bacon was also really fatty and just okay. The coffee was really nice. I would not recommend nor would I return
